She was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Lee Tulloch; grandparents, Cliff and Polly Monore and Franklin Cable; aunt, Sally Covington.

Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Friday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Keith Pierce and Rev. Greg Long officiating. The interment service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in Sherwood Memorial Gardens.

Charles Riley Smith, age 75 of Maryville died Wednesday September 1, 2004 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He is preceded in death by his son: Tommy D. Smith. He is survived by his children: Donald R. (Rick) Smith of Maryville, Shirley Whitehead and Charles R. (Randy) Smith both of AL; companion: Betty Verhulst of Maryville; twenty-two grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren; step children: Marion (Mick) Verhulst, Bobbie Calvert, Mary Mitchell. Mr. Smith is being taken to Jasper, AL for funeral services under the direction of Collins-Burke Funeral Home (205-384-5571), local arrangements by Memorial Funeral Home in Maryville.

Dorotha McCammon Stafford, age 91 of Maryville, passed away Wednesday morning, September 1, 2004 at Asbury Place at Maryville. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Maryville and a longtime member and past president of Mountain Laurel Garden Club. Her life was her family and tending to her flowers. She raised daylilies, orchids and violets. She was an avid quilter and a collector of dolls. preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Edwin; son, Max Lynn; parents, Oliver and Sophia McCammon; brothers, Lester, Edwin and Kenneth McCammon. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Juanita of Sevierville, Pete and Faye of Knoxville, Rex and Joyce of Maryville, Robert and Debbie of Houston, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Bill Everett of Maryville; grandchildren and spouses, Pam and Randy, John and Paula, Kim and Darrell, Tim and Angie, Lynn and Trish, Chris and Shannon, Donna and Tim, Eddie and Angie and Erica; great-grandchildren, Jared, Rachel, Dakota, Will, Savannah, Kelsey, Kinsey, Kaitlyn, Renee, Bethany, Todd, Sage, Seth, Aaron, Issac, Max and Will; brother-in-law, Phil Stafford of Maryville; brother and sister-in-law, Gene and June Stafford of Phoenix, Arizona; sisters-in-law, Christine Harrill, Jean Stafford and Dorothy Stafford all of Maryville; several nieces and nephews. Alma (Sister) Curry, departed this life on Monday morning to be with her Heavenly Father. She was preceded in death by her parents, Flanders and Della Waters; daughters, Doris Waters and Dorothy Nell Moss; son, Samuel Curry Jr.; and brother Johnny B. Waters.
She leaves to cherish her memories two devoted daughters and sons-in-law; Adell (Charles) Dixon of Knoxville and Mary (Tyris) Gilmore of Alcoa; two devoted sons and daughters-in-law, Denny (Laura) Curry and Gene (Theresa) Curry both of Alcoa; two devoted sisters, Eva Mae Waters and Lenell Waters of Alcoa; two brothers, Arthur Lee Johnson of New Jersey and Luther (Mary Alice) Waters of Kansas; 14 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one aunt, Geneva Johnson; mother-in-law, Rebecca Wright of Georgia; several nieces, nephews and cousins; devoted friends, Ann Flowers, Racheal Dean, David Riley, Albert Simpson, Charlie Teffeteller and the staff at Maryville Dialyses Center and the Parkwest Hospital.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 3 at 3:00 p.m. at Rest Haven Baptist Church in Alcoa with Minister Cleveland Jackson officiating. Interment to follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. The remains may be viewed after 12 noon at Foothills Funeral, Maryville.

Katie S. Hipps, age 94 of Etowah, formerly of Greenback passed away Sunday, January 25, 2004 at Etowah Health Care Center. She was a member of North Etowah Baptist Church and former member of Greenback Baptist Church. preceded in death by husband, Bob Hipps; parents, Bill and Ellen Shadden; daughter, Margaret Longmire; son, John 'Bud' Hipps; infant daughter, Lois; great-grandson, Isaac Hipps; and ten brothers and sisters.
Survivors include daughter, Betty Thomson of Etowah; sons, James Hipps of Etowah and Earl Hipps of Maryville; fifteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; eleven great-great-grandchildren; dear friend, Violet Burrell; numerous nieces and nephews.

Randy Lee Law, age 44 of Rockford died Tuesday, August 31, 2004 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was an employee of Rockford Manufacturing for 12 years and was a Veteran of the United States Coast Guard. He was coach for the Rockford Tigers Youth Football Team. Benjamin Travis 'Ben' Cox, age 27 of Knoxville, passed away Monday, August 30, 2004. He attended Sevier Heights Baptist Church, was employed at Nature's Pantry in Knoxville and was a full-time student at Tusculum College. He was preceded in death by grandfathers, John Perkins and Fred Cox; uncle, John P. Perkins.
Survivors include: parents, Bill and Lois Cox of Greenback; sister and brother-in-law, Stacie and Mark Smith of Maryville; brother and sister-in-law, Neil and Andrea Cox of Heidelberg, Germany; grandmothers, Imogene Perkins of Kimball, NE, and Anna Lee Cox of Kimball, NE; nephews, Emmett Smith and Bradley Cox; niece, Katherine Smith; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

SUSAN ANN DIEL
Susan Ann Diel, age 59, of Rockford, TN died Monday, August 30, 2004 at University of Tennessee Medical Center. She was a Registered Nurse in Psychiatric medicine and was retired from Peninsula Hospital after 9 years of service and St. Catherine's Hospital in Kenosha, WI. after 30 years of service. Her life was her family and her work. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by: parents, John and Lucille Lippert; brother, John Lippert.; brother-in-law, Tom Diel; mother-in-law and father-in-law, George and Elizabeth Diel. Survivors include: husband of forty years, George J. Diel; sons and daughters-in-law, Charles A. and Kathleen S. Diel of Kenosha, WI. and Robert P. and Jennifer Diel of Racine, WI.; granddaughters, Lindsey J. and Kaycee K. CLIFFORD EDWARD IRWIN
Clifford Edward Irwin, age 74, of Maryville, passed away Saturday, August 28, 2004, at his home. He was a graduate of Everett High School, Hiwassee College, Maryville College and the University of Tennessee. After graduating from school, he went on to become an educator for 36 years. He was also a coach at Lanier, Everett and Heritage High Schools. He was an avid sportsman and also worked as an official with Parks and Recreation, Tennessee Secondary Schools Athletic Association and the NCAA. His time was also spent as an active member and negotiator with the Blount County Education Association and the Tennessee Education Association. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta Adams Irwin; father, William Lee Irwin; mother, Helen Beatrice Irwin; infant brother, William Irwin; and brother, James Irwin.
Survivors include: daughters, Carol Ann Poff of Maryville, Cathryn E. Irwin of Knoxville, and Amelia Ann Irwin; son and daughter-in-law, Clifford Edward Irwin II and Mary of Maryville; daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia Irwin McCurdy and Brian of Phoenix, Ariz.; sister and brother-in-law Audrey and Don Chambers of Morrow, Ga.; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Anna C. Irwin of Maryville; brother-in-law, Robert G. (Sam) Adams of Sevierville; grandchildren, Charity Patterson and husband David, and Brandon White and wife Dawn; great-grandchildren, Sean, Tiffany and Jeremy Patterson, and Andrew White; many nieces, nephews and extraordinary friends.
