Alex Arnold Belcher, age 92 of Alcoa, passed away Thursday, August 26, 2004, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Opal Scarbrough Belcher; great-granddaughter, Brendle Overly; parents, Thomas and Della Tallent Belcher; several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include: wife, Bertha Pedigo Belcher of Alcoa; sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Dorothy Belcher of Maryville, Jimmy and Lynn Belcher of Kingsport; daughter and son-in-law, Gladys B. and Kenneth Webb of Maryville; stepdaughter, Wilma Giles of Maryville; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; step granddaughter, Kristi Lutes of Knoxville; brothers, Raymond Belcher of Alcoa, Claude Belcher of Florida; sister, Dorothy Gresham of Walland.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carson W. Scarbrough officiating. The interment will follow in Clark's Grove Cemetery.

Bolduc of Marysville, CA; 14 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Joseph Bergmann of New Bern, NC; sister, Valine Miller of Columbus, OH. Memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 29, 2004 at Smith Mortuary, Maryville, 865-983-1000.

ROGER ALLEN THOMAS
Roger Allen Thomas, 50 of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2004 at his home. He is survived by his children: Jason Thomas of Louisville and Amber Arden of Friendsville; brothers: Charles Thomas of Maryville and David Thomas of Louisville; sister: Francis Purkey of Maryville; grandson: Riley Arden; several nephews, nieces, friends and other relatives. Funeral services will be at 8 p.m. Friday, August 27, 2004 at Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Jackie Midkiff officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:00 a.m. Saturday August 28, 2004 at Laurel Bank cemetery for a graveside service. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The family request donations to be made in lieu of flowers to Memorial Funeral Home to help defray the funeral expenses.

Alfred Philip (Phil) Bowers, 56 of Maryville died Monday, August 23, 2004 at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents: Joshua Leonard and Hellen Keller Bowers; sister: Orbin Davis. He is survived by his children: Michele and Kenneth Stumph, Philip Bowers Jr.; special friends: Gail Bowers and Jerry Hart; three grandchildren all of Louisville, KY; brothers and sisters-in-law: Donald and Marjorie Bowers, Jim and Rose Bowers; sisters and brothers-in-law: Patsy and Oscar Cuneo, Dale Bowers and Maryann Whitehead, Peggy Bowers and James Jenkins; sister, Tommie Bowers; all of Maryville. Family and friends will meet at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 25, 2004 at Maryville Baptist Tabernacle cemetery for a graveside funeral service with Rev. Milford Byrd officiating. Memorial Funeral Home in Maryville is in charge of Arrangements.

Funeral services for Carlene Woody, 62 of Monterey, TN will be conducted Friday, August 27, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home.
Pastor Ron Allen will officiate and interment will follow in the Welch Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Woody was born October 12, 1941 in Sparta, Tennessee to the late Carl E. Randolph, and Maurell Montgomery Randolph who survives of Sparta, TN.
Mrs. Woody passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2004 at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Woody was a housewife.
In addition to her mother she is survived by her husband, Jack Woody, Monterey, TN; son and daughter-in-law, Mark E. and Bronda Woody, Crossville, TN; 3 grandchildren, Scott, Brittany and Brent; 2 sisters, Shirley Powell, Sparta, TN, Kay Delaney, Sparta, TN

Robert U. 'Bob' Blair, age 88, of Vonore, passed away Friday evening, August 27, 2004, at the family home. preceded in death by parents, Robert and May Blair; brothers, Virgiss, Lester, Vernon and Dan Blair; sister, Reba Cook and an infant sister. Survivors include wife, Martha Blair; stepdaughters, Jean and husband Bill Earhart of Vonore, Joan and husband Hank Kivisto of Rockford; six grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; brother, Bill and wife Carol Blair of Tellico Village; sister, Edna Lockleer of North Carolina; several nieces and nephews. Mary Evelyn Finger, 50, of Maryville, passed away Friday August 27, 2004. She is preceded in death by her father, Joseph Cleveland Finger, and brother, Stephen Finger. She is survived by her husband, Charles McLean; stepchildren, Charlene and David McLean; mother, Mary Elizabeth Finger; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dickie and Amanda Finger of Madisonville, Bobbie and Usihi Finger of Germany, Ronnie and Lorrie Finger of Ind.; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral services will be at 9:00 p.m. Monday, August 30, 2004, at Memorial Funeral Home in Maryville with Rev. Joe Lewis officiating. The family and friends will meet at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home to proceed to Sherwood Memorial Gardens for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service. HAZEL PAULINE HEADRICK
Hazel Pauline Headrick, age 89, of Walland, died Friday, August 27, 2004, at her home. She was a member of West Miller's Cove Primitive Baptist Church. preceded in death by: husband, Alvin Headrick; son, Samuel Headrick; grandson, Mark; brothers, William and Clarence Hatcher; sister, Edith Ledbetter. Survivors include: sons, Alvin Ray Headrick and wife Gail of Walland, Carl Max Headrick of Walland, William Roy Headrick and wife Lucille of Illinois, Kenneth Headrick and wife Norma of Walland; 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brother, Andrew Hatcher of St. Louis; sisters, Gladys Headrick and Mabel Headrick, both of Walland; many special family and friends. Funeral service will be at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, August 29, 2004, in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary with the Rev. Dewey Brown officiating. Interment will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 30, 2004, at West Miller's Cove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may call at their convenience after 1:00 p.m., Sunday, August 29, 2004. DONALD E. BONE, SR.
Donald E. Bone, Sr., age 74, of Maryville, passed away Monday, August 30, 2004 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a veteran of the US Navy, having served during the Korean conflict. He was preceded in death by: son, William Bone; parents, Robert and Ethel Bone Sr.; brothers, Robert Bone Jr. and Stanley H. Bone. Survivors include: wife, Faye Bone; daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Robert Clune of Greenback, Sandy and Tim McLain of New Jersey and Vickie Stocchi of New Jersey; son and daughter-in-law, G. Daniel and Susan Bone of New Jersey; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The body was cremated and no services are planned. PHYLLIS Y. GIBSON CLARK
Phyllis Y. Gibson Clark, age 53, of Maryville, departed this life on Saturday August 28, 2004 at U.T. Medical Center. preceded in death by: father, Hansel G. Clinton; and granddaughter, Alicia Marie Gibson. Survivors: son, Clint Gibson; daughter and son-in-law, Autumn and David Manning all of Maryville; mother, Annie Correll Clinton of Maryville; sister, Brenda Helton, of Maryville; grandchildren, Tyler Gibson, Arron Manning, Trinity Manning; nieces, Diane and husband Charlie Brown and family, Beth Wilson; nephew Michael Wilson; several aunts, uncles, and cousins. ALICIA MARIE GIBSON
Alicia Marie Gibson, age 7, of Maryville passed away Saturday, August 28, 2004. She was a student in the second grade at Lanier Elementary School. She was preceded in death by: grandparents Lon and Thelma Bailey, Phyllis Clark; great-grandfathers, Hansel G. Clinton, Dave Gibson, and Raymond (Pop) Huskey. Survivors: parents, Clint Gibson and Angela Bailey, of Maryville; brother, Tyler Gibson, of Maryville; grandparents, Bobby L. and step-grandmother, Diane Gibson, of Maryville, Debra (Nanny) Bailey and Ronnie (Pa) Ratledge, of Maryville; great-grandmothers, Annie Clinton and Ethel Huskey, both of Maryville; cousins, Arron Manning, Trinity Manning, and Kaylin Bailey (best friend), Dylan Bailey and Brett Martin, along with numerous other cousins; aunts and uncles, Autumn and David Manning, Jamie and Carrie Bailey, Jennifer Bailey, Wayne and Sandy Robinson, Carl Robinson, and Ann Robinson, all of Maryville, Mike and Marie Robinson, and Steve and Kim Robinson, of Florida. CLIFFORD EDWARD IRWIN
Clifford Edward Irwin, age 74, of Maryville, passed away Saturday, August 28, 2004, at his home. He was a graduate of Everett High School, Hiwassee College, Maryville College and the University of Tennessee. After graduating from school, he went on to become an educator for 36 years. He was also a coach at Lanier, Everett and Heritage High Schools. He was an avid sportsman and also worked as an official with Parks and Recreation, Tennessee Secondary Schools Athletic Association and the NCAA. His time was also spent as an active member and negotiator with the Blount County Education Association and the Tennessee Education Association. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta Adams Irwin; father, William Lee Irwin; mother, Helen Beatrice Irwin; infant brother, William Irwin; and brother, James Irwin.
Survivors include: daughters, Carol Ann Poff of Maryville, Cathryn E. Irwin of Knoxville, and Amelia Ann Irwin; son and daughter-in-law, Clifford Edward Irwin II and Mary of Maryville; daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia Irwin McCurdy and Brian of Phoenix, Ariz.; sister and brother-in-law Audrey and Don Chambers of Morrow, Ga.; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Anna C. Irwin of Maryville; brother-in-law, Robert G. (Sam) Adams of Sevierville; grandchildren, Charity Patterson and husband David, and Brandon White and wife Dawn; great-grandchildren, Sean, Tiffany and Jeremy Patterson, and Andrew White; many nieces, nephews and extraordinary friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 1, at 8 p.m. in McCammon-Ammons-Click Chapel with Dr. Mark Grubb officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. An interment service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Grandview Cemetery. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery.

Anna Belle Sutton "Spiz" Jones, age 90 of Louisville died Sunday, August 29, 2004 at the family home. She was a member of Monte Vista Baptist Church and the Sam Houston Schoolhouse Guild. preceded in death by: husband, James Leslie Jones; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia Ann Jones and Dr. John R. Huffman; parents, L. B. Sutton Sr. and Lela McFadden Sutton; brother, L. B. Sutton Jr.; sisters, Margaret Dunford, June Burnette, Elizabeth Davis, Virginia "Babe" Coleman. Survivors include: grandchildren, John L. and Connie Huffman, Cheri & Greg Jones, Christi and Brad Sayles; great-grandchildren, Jack and Julia Sayles, John Wilson Huffman, Carson Jones; sister-in-law, Dorothy Sutton; nephews, Chip Sutton, W. John P. Kennedy, passed away on August 28, 2004 at Ridgeview Nursing Home. John was a resident of Alcoa, Tennessee, and a previous resident of McMinn County. preceded in death by: parents, Minnie V. Kennedy and Charles Oley Kennedy Sr. He is survived by: daughter, Pam Rollins of Athens; son, Scott Kennedy of Walland; grandchildren, Samantha Epstein of Missoula, Montana, Claire and Jake Rollins of Athens, Michael Kennedy, Johnny Van Kennedy, and Adam Kennedy; dear friend and companion, Phyllis Campbell of Alcoa; brothers, Harry B. Kennedy and Charles O. Kennedy Jr.; sister, Billie Jane Kennedy Wine. No services are scheduled at this time.

LURA GREGORY WILLIAMS
Lura Gregory Williams of Dillwyn, Virginia, died Saturday, July 24, 2004 following a massive stroke on July 14. She was born February 2, 1911 in Cades Cove, Tennessee. Her fondest memories were of her childhood there. She loved 'rambling' with her brothers and sisters. She was an avid gardener in her later years and was always surrounded by her beloved pets, which were a great comfort to her.
She is survived by her two sons and their wives, Marshall C. Jr., and Diana England of Richmond, Virginia and Billy K. and Carolyn England of Dillwyn, VA; two grandchildren, Terri and Kenneth England; four great-grandchildren, Rebekah, Bethany, Samantha and Kenneth all of Dillwyn; many nieces and nephews in Tennessee, whose loving kindness was greatly appreciated. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Maryville, Tennessee.
