Jesse James McMahan, age 48 of Sevierville, formerly of Maryville passed away Tuesday evening, August 17, 2004 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center, Knoxville. preceded in death by father, Victor McMahan Jr.; grandmother, Willie Mae Herron.
Survivors, son, James Scott McMahan; mother, Fannie Lorene Loveday of Sevierville, formerly of Maryville; half-sister, Brenda Faye Rogers of Greenback; sisters, Vicki Sue Jackson of Arizona, Mary Jo McMahan of Sevierville, Martha Ann Russell of Maryville; brothers, Harvey Allen McMahan of Maryville, Fred Arnold McMahan of Sevierville, Calvin McMahan of Maryville; several cousins; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service 3:00 p.m. Friday, August 20, 2004 Miller Funeral Home Cedar Chapel. Interment to follow at Old Chilhowee cemetery in Seymour. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
JAMES L. TEFFETELLER
James L. Teffeteller, age 54 of Maryville, passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2004, at his home from a long courageous battle with cancer. He was a school bus owner/driver for Maryville City and Blount County Schools and a truck driver. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his infant son, James Teffeteller; parents, Edward and Thelma Louise (Spires) Teffeteller; grandparents, Oscar and Azalea Spires and Martin and Liddie Teffeteller; sister and brother-in-law, Brenda (Melton) and Frank Moore; aunt, Wilma (Spires) Rizzardi; uncle, John Taylor Spires; sister-in-law, Lois Jean Teffeteller.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Sharon Teffeteller of Maryville; daughter, Cheryl Houser and husband Steve of Seymour; brother, Danny Teffeteller of Friendsville; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Paul and Mildred Bales of Seymour; sister-in-law, Linda Welch and husband Bill of Seymour; uncles, Franklin Teffeteller of Maryville, Bill Teffeteller of Seymour and Ned Rizzardi and wife Lynda of Maryville; several nephews, nieces and cousins; his furry buddy, Cat.
Family and friends will meet at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Grandview Mausoleum Chapel for a memorial service with Dallas Gibson officiating.

ERNEST TIPTON
Ernest Tipton, age 81, of South Knoxville, passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2004 at Asbury Acres Nursing Home in Maryville. He was a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church and of Sevier Lodge #334 F&AM. Retired from Rogers Cadillac with 20 years of service and was owner and operator of Tipton Mower Service for 35 years. preceded in death by parents, Glen Ernest Tipton and Carrie Bell Gossett Tipton; brother, Jack D. Tipton. He is survived by wife of 58 years, Zora Ruth Tipton; son, Carroll Tipton and wife, Judy of Seymour; daughter, Margie Smith and husband, Lee of Mason, Ohio; 3 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and stepgrandchildren; brothers, BJ Tipton of Seymour, Ray Tipton and wife, Ruth of Maryville; sister, Wanda Lynn McCroskey and husband, John of Wildwood, Tennessee; several nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be held 4 p.m. on Friday at Valley Grove Baptist Church, Dr. Bobby Tucker officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. ELLA MAREASE WATSON
Graveside services for Ella Marease Watson, 75, of Cookeville will be Friday, August 20 at 1 p.m. (EST) at Keeble cemetery in Walland, TN. Rev. Sidney Ogle will officiate.
Mrs. Watson died Monday afternoon, August 16, 2004.
Mrs. Watson was born May 16, 1929 in Blount County, Tennessee to the late William Columbus and Minnie Annis Dykes Watson.
Mrs. Watson was a self-employed seamstress and of the Baptist Faith.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her 1st and 2nd husbands, George Ogle and Bruce J. Bell; grandson, Richard List; and six brothers, Leonard, Carson, Alburn, Caswell, Bill, Milburn Watson.
Mrs. Watson is survived by two sons, George Ogle of CA, and Jerry Ogle of IL; four daughters, Judy Butler of Cookeville, Janice Ogle of CA, Sharon List of IL, and Betty Bell of NV; twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and brother, Dewey Watson of TN.

Nellie Mae (Nell) Swabe White, age 84, widow of T.G. White of Maryville, formerly of Madisonville, passed away 3:05 a.m. Wednesday, August 18, 2004 at Maryville Health Care. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church for over 70 years where she taught Sunday School for a number of years.
Survivors: daughters and sons-in-law, Phyllis and R.C. Leming, Maryville, Gena and Robert Williams, Madisonville; sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Lois White, Greenback, Bill and Helen White, Maryville, Larry and Phyllis White, Wilma White, Brenda White, all of Sweetwater; grandchildren, Linda Whitehead, Scott White of Maryville, Lucinda Wayman, David White, Dan White, Jennifer Riley, Chris White of Sweetwater, Susan Schaffer, Ritchie White, Rodney Williams, Mitchell Williams of Madisonville, Norman White of Loudon, Denny White and Bridgette Rayl of Niota; 22 great-grandchildren; sisters, Viola Swabe, Madisonville, Margaret Moser, Dayton, OH; brother, Austin Swabe, Madisonville; several nieces and nephews and friends; special friends, Fannie Ditmore and Edna Rogers.

ERIN CATHERINE CHAMBERLAIN
Erin Catherine Chamberlain, beloved daughter of Janet and David Chamberlain, and devoted sister of Adam Chamberlain, went into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, August 12, 2004.
Erin loved country music, books, going to school at Washington Center and camping at Camp Spearhead. She brought joy to all she came in contact with.
In addition to her parents and brother, Erin is survived by paternal grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. C.C. Chamberlain of Maryville, TN; maternal grandmother, Catherine M. Clouse of Jonesville, VA; uncle Alvin and aunt Marteen Clouse of Romulus, MI; uncle Gary and aunt Marian Chamberlain of Warner-Robbins, GA; a very special caregiver, aunt Katie, and a host of other loving teachers, caregivers, friends and relatives. She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Mark W. Clouse.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, August 21, 2004 at First United Methodist Church in Maryville, TN. Visitation will follow the service.

Edna L. Eakes, age 86 of Alcoa, passed away Monday, August 16, 2004, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Maryville Church of Christ and was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph D. Eakes; son, Joe Eakes; 4 brothers and one sister.
Survivors include her daughters, Dolly Watson of Maryville and Dailene Newman of Alcoa; 6 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Edith 'Tootsie' McCulley of Knoxville.
Family and friends will meet at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Grandview cemetery for a graveside service with Dan Chambers of Maryville Church of Christ officiating.

Billy D. Matthews, age 72 of Atlanta, GA died Monday, August 16, 2004. He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Harry Tipton of Walland, TN, Kim and Bill Massengill of Grayson; sister, Christine Gwostz of Atlanta; brothers, Ernest Matthews of Stockbridge, Gene and Joyce Matthews of Loganville, Larry Matthews of Alpharetta, GA; grandchildren, Ashley and Jeff Nuchols, Trey Massengill, Samantha Massengill; great-grandchildren, Kayla Nuchols, Sierra Nuchols; several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Matthews was a US Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of the American Legion.

He was a veteran of the United States Army of World War II European Theatre and he also received the Silver Star and Purple Heart medals. preceded in death by parents, Milo and Agnes Clark, Sr.; wife, Nadine Townsend Clark; daughter, Donna Jo Gowan; and brother, Clifford Clark.
