JAMES BRICKEY JOINES
James Brickey Joines, age 62, of Maryville, passed away Sunday, August 8, 2004, at Sunbridge Care and Rehab Center at Hillside in Kingsport. He was of the Baptist faith and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the United States Navy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar R. and Martha Ann Long Joines. Survivors include: brothers and sisters-in-law, Karen and Ann Joines of Birmingham, Ala., and Robert and Jody Joines of Niota; stepmother, Janice Joines; two nieces and two nephews. Services were held Wednesday, August 11, 2004, at the West Chapel of Smith Mortuary. The interment was at Grandview cemetery on Wednesday following the funeral service. Smith Mortuary; 983-1000.
FLOSSIE JONELL BRANSFORD MORRIS
Flossie Jonell Bransford Morris was born May 19, 1923, in Obion County to the late Abbie B. and Verna (Chambers) Bransford. She departed this life Tuesday, August 10, 2004, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center, Knoxville.
Flossie was a member of Brooks Chapel Freewill Baptist Church for many years, joined United Church of God Church during her senior years, and when her health permitted, attended Mother Love Baptist Church after moving to Louisville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Lee Morris; brothers, Huber, Abbie B. Jr. and Harold Bransford; sisters, Edwina Murphy, Ruth Blythe and Hazel Concentine.
Survivors include: daughters and sons-in-law, Evie (James) Harris of Downey, Calif., and Juanita (Walter) Brabson, Louisville; grandsons, James Jr., Richard, Derrick and Specialist 5 Darren Harris, and Walter Jr., Eric and Kevin Brabson; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Paul (Margaret) Bransford, Detroit, Mich.; sisters, Nettie (Wallace) Jones and Patricia (Eugene) Zimmerman, both of Cleveland, Ohio, Mary Simmons, Chicago, Ill.; Rev. Mattie Sue (Paul) Long, Indianapolis, Ind.; uncles, James Bransford, Fulton, Ky., and Leslie Bransford, Union City; aunt, Edrell Mosley of Union City; sisters-in-law, Juanita Bransford, Detroit, Mich., and Manone Morris, Paducah, Ky., goddaughter, Shirley Davis, Ashland City; devoted niece, Sharon Hooks, St. Louis, Mo.; devoted friends, Clara Alexander and May Roe, South Fulton, and Arlena Brabson and Eldora Brazel, Alcoa; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, August 14, 2004, at 1 p.m. at Obion County Memorial Garden, 3939 Ken-Tenn Highway in Union City, with elders Larry Davis and Nolan Hardin officiating. The body may be viewed from noon to 6 p.m. Friday at Foothills Funeral Home, Maryville.
ETHEL LUCILLE WEBB
Ethel Lucille Webb, age 84, of Maryville, passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2004, at U.T. Medical Center. She was a member of Praise Temple Assembly of God and preceded in death by husband, Harold Webb; parents, James and Maude Gribble; sister, Edith Staton; brothers, Fred and Lonnie Gribble. Survivors include son, Clarence 'Chris' Webb of Johnson City; brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul Gribble of Maryville, Samuel and Betty Gribble of Maryville, Harold and Shirley Gribble of Maryland, Reed Gribble of Sevierville; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 14, 2004, at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. H. Wayne Simmons and Rev. Jerry Smith officiating. THERESA CROMWELL
Theresa Cromwell, age 63, of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2004, at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Reva Morton. She was a beloved wife and mother.
Survivors include her husband, Carl E. Cromwell; son and daughter-in-law, Clay and Vicky Cromwell; daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Dennis Chambers; sister, Sonya Broyles; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Nancy and Herbert Wiser; niece Amy Keeble and her husband John; nephews, Stan and Steve Johnson; special friend, Virginia Morton.

JOE HUBBARD
Joe Hubbard, age 62, of Seminole, Florida, passed away August 8, 2004. He was a native of Blount County and lived in Etowah for 30 years. In May of 2003 he moved to Florida after retiring from 40 years of service with CSX Railroad.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mary Hubbard; brothers, Edward, Roy and Ray Hubbard.
Survivors include: wife of 44 years, Wanda Roberts Hubbard; daughter, Cheri Vaughn and husband Joe of Cleveland; son, Capt. Richard Chris Hubbard and wife Nancy Jo of Williamsburg, Va.; grandchildren: Cameron Vaughn, Devon Vaughn Christopher Hubbard and Gavin Hubbard. Other surviving family members include: W.M. Hubbard, Harold Hubbard, Carl Hubbard, Betty Roberts, Aileen Whitaker and Hazel Goode; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 7:30 p.m. Thursday, August 12, 2004, with Rev. Charles Bailey officiating at McCammon-Ammons-Click Chapel. The family will receive friends 6:00-7:30 p.m. Thursday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home. Family and friends will meet at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Grandview cemetery for the interment service.

Hardie Nathan Brown, age 93, of Sevierville, passed away Sunday, August 8, 2004. He attended the Church of God. He was preceded in death by parents, Charlie and Matilda Brown; sisters, Birdie Mae Teffeteller, Nancy Whitehead, Ella Murphy, Carrie Brown, and brother Alvin Brown.
Survivors: wife, Trula Brown; sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Pat Brown of Maryville, Delmer Gene and Roberta Shultz of Sevierville, Earl Wayne and Brenda Shultz of Elloree, S.C.; daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda and Steve Patterson of Greenback, Grace and Bill Loudin of Sevierville, Carolyn and John Ownby of Sevierville; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and brothers, Charles Brown and France Brown.

Leonard J. Davis, age 79, of Maryville, died Friday, August 6, 2004, at Colonial Hills Nursing Center. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church of Knoxville, and was preceded in death by his wife, Katheryn Davis, and three sisters. He is survived by his son, Ronnie Davis of Oliver Springs; granddaughter, Melinda Brown; and sister, Geneva Clabough of Louisville. MILUS EDMON MITCHELL
Milus Edmon Mitchell, age 86, of Greenback, passed away Sunday morning, August 8, 2004, at the family home. He was a member of Oakland United Methodist Church and retired from Fort Loudon Electric Cooperative in Greenback. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Navy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Caswell Purn and Effie Mae Stooksbury Mitchell; wife of 65 years, Zola Elizabeth Mitchell; and daughter, Rhonda Ilo Mitchell. Survivors include daughter, Jane Mitchell of Greenback; grandson, Shane Lambert of Louisiana; granddaughters, Tania Hunter and husband Gary of Maryville, Joy Heard and husband Jack of Friendsville; great-grandchildren, Christopher Lambert, Wade Baker, Justin Hunter, Taylor Coley, Bryson Heard and Gabie Heard; brother-in-law, Kenneth Blankenship and wife Zela of California. EDWARD `RATMAN' SPANGLER
Edward "Ratman" Spangler, age 85, of Maryville, died Saturday night, August 7, 2004, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He attended Third Street Baptist Church and was a Veteran of the United States Army during World War II in the Battle of the Bulge, where he received the Good Conduct Medal, The American Theater Ribbon, World War II Victory Medal, and The European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with four Bronze Service Stars. He was retired from ALCOA. He enjoyed visiting with friends at the Union Hall and Foothills Mall. He was preceded in death by his wife, Stella Spangler; parents, Jake and Lula Spangler; brother, Orvile Spangler; brothers-in-law, Hullar Hammonds and Jim McConnell. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Carmelita and Lewis Dyke, JoAnn and William Pickens, all of Maryville; grandchildren, Gerald and Marsha Bowers, Regina and Rowdy McCall Jr., Sandy and Darren Lowe, Taiya and Tim Kumes, Brad and Aleena Bowers; great-grandchildren, Rowdy McCall III, Kevin Lowe, Mallory Bowers, Jared and Kaila Bowers, Baby Kumes; sisters, Virgie Hammonds of Fla. and Lorine McConnell of Maryville; and many nieces and nephews.
