Evelyn Smith Potter, age 86, of Maryville, passed away Sunday, June 27, 2004, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Monte Vista Baptist Church. preceded in death by parents, Hazel and Nellie Smith; brother, Boyd Smith.

Hubert C. White, age 86 of Maryville, died Monday, June 28, 2004, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Monte Vista Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Ida Mae White; former wife, Kate Hooper White; daughter, Gloria Mills; sisters, Imogene Moore, Randlee Miller, Geneva Self; brothers, Walter Isaac White, James "Buford" White and Charles "Jake" White; son-in-law, Bob McKelvey. Hazel B. Casey, age 80, of Maryville, passed away Saturday, June 26, 2004, at Colonial Hills Nursing Home. She was member of Eighth Avenue Church of God in Albany, Ga. preceded in death by her husband, Edward G. Casey; parents, Henry and Polly Bailey; brother, Jack Bailey.
Survivors include: son, Ronnie Casey of Albany, Ga.; daughter, Betty Ford of Maryville; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; brothers, Malcolm Bailey of Albany, Ga., Ralph Bailey, and Roy Bailey both of Austin, Texas; sisters, Grace Brown of New Orleans and Birdie Hill of Austin, Texas.

MARGARET ANNE WELLS DYKE
Margaret Anne Wells Dyke, age 52, of Greenback, passed away Tuesday, June 22, 2004, at her mother's home in Annapolis, Maryland. She graduated from Annapolis, Maryland, in 1970 and she was an administrative assistant at the David Taylor Research Center at the Annapolis Naval Station for many years. She loved to dance, sing in the church choir, camping and flowers. She was preceded in death by brother-in-law, Jack Dyke, and stepdaughter, Michelle Dyke. ARTHUR H. WHITE JR.
Arthur H. White Jr., age 85, of Knoxville, passed away Friday, June 25, 2004, at Brakebill Nursing Home. Arthur was born October 11, 1918, in Maryville, to the late Arthur and Mary Etta White. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during World War II. After his discharge he was owner of White's Restaurant in downtown Knoxville.
His parents; a sister, Katha Bennett; and a brother, Keith Lane, precede him in death. As a loving father and papaw, he leaves to cherish his loving memory a devoted daughter, Celene McBride; son-in-law, Jay McBride; loving granddaughters and their husbands, Jessica and Tom Denton, Amanda and Blake Miles, and Becca McBride; two precious great-grandsons, Miles Thomas and Mason White Denton; brother, Donald White; and sister and her husband, Betty and Otie Smith, all of Maryville.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday, June 28, at Highland Memorial Park, Funerals and Cremations, 5315 Kingston Pike, with services to follow at 8 p.m. with Rev. John B. Rex Whitehead, age 49, of Maryville, passed away Thursday, June 24, 2004. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vern and Dorothy Whitehead; brother, Gene Whitehead. Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Debbie Whitehead; son, Josh Whitehead; daughter and fiancé, Christy Whitehead and Michael Kidd; grandson, Tristin Whitehead; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bobby and Anita Whitehead, George and Gail Whitehead; sister and brother-in-law, Mildred and Fred Gibson; sister, Shirley Lutterell; mother-in-law, Mary Burris; brothers-in-law, Howard and James Murr; sisters-in-law, Marie Murr and Jamie Parker; several nieces and nephews. MARGARET MCCLURE CUMMINGS
Margaret McClure Cummings, age 101, of Maryville, died on Thursday, June 24, 2004 at Shannondale of Maryville. Born in Blairsville, Pennsylvania, Margaret was married
to Dr. John W. Cummings who taught at Trinity University and Maryville College. After his death in 1936, she earned a degree from Biblical Seminary (New York Theological). From 1940 until 1969 she taught Bible and Christian Education at Maryville College. During her retirement she continued to be active at New Providence Presbyterian Church, serving as elder, Sunday School teacher, circle leader and in other areas. She is survived by one sister, Janet McClure of Maryville; three children and their spouses Margaret (Peggy) and David Campbell of Maryville; Janet and James Martin of Norwich, NY; and Jim (James) and Marilyn Cummings of Lakeland, FL; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of friends. Memorial service will be at 2:00 PM, Monday, June 28, 2004 at New Providence Presbyterian Church. Family will receive friends following the service at the church in Westminster Hall. Born May 16, 1915 in Blount County to the union of Sam and Ella Rorex.
Preceded in death by parents, Sam and Ella Rorex; husband, Lloyd Holland; sisters, Samuel McBath and Cloteal Glanton.
She was a member of Union Temple AME Zion and Mount Pleasant AME Zion Church; member of Eastern Star and a Worthy Matron of Excelsior Chapter #205, Alcoa.
She leaves to mourn her passing, devoted and loving son and daughter, Andrew Holland and Arthella Wilson; grandchildren, Curtis Wilson, Brenda Wilson Baxter, Lloyd Wilson, Michael Holland, Reta McNear, Sandford (Priscilla) Holland, Ray-rescha Holland; a host of great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Imojean Bradford, Earnestine Jackson and Frances Golightly, Knoxville; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and her church family.
