Cordia Estella Effler Buchanan, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 20, 2004. She was born February 20, 1921. James Richard Lewis, age 71 of Friendsville passed away Monday, June 21, 2004. He was preceded in death by his father, Banner Lewis and mother, Essie Herron; brother, Clayton Lewis. Survivors include: wife, Margaret Manis Lewis; daughter and son-in-law, Linda Kay and Mike Wade of Shelbyville, KY; step-daughter and husband, Yvonne and John Herron of Maryville; step-sons and wives, Don and Cindy Manis of Oak Ridge, Larry and Mary Jo Manis of Philadelphia, TN, Darrell and Ronda Manis of Pigeon Forge, Jody and Karen Manis of Knoxville; sister and husband, Jackie and Sam McCollum of Maryville; brothers, and wives, Billy and Penny Lewis, Harry and Alice Lewis all of North Carolina; 14 step-grandchildren; 2 step-great-grandchildren. Masonic Funeral Services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday June 23, 2004 by New Providence Lodge # 128 F&AM of Maryville. Funeral services will follow with Rev. Gay King officiating. RUBY S. MOORE
Ruby S. Moore, age 80 of Alcoa, died Sunday, June 20, 2004 at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Moore; parents, Will and Eva Spradlin; brother, Joe Spradlin; nephew, Steve Spradlin; special friends, Jewel Wheeler and Dena Clemmer. Survivors include her son, Charles Moore of Alcoa; granddaughter, Taylor Moore; brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles (Junior) and Jenny Spradlin of Maryville, Troy and Willie Spradlin of Louisville; sisters, Ruth Harrison of Knoxville and Carrie Stickles of Greenwood, SC; nieces and nephews, Janet Drake, David Spradlin, Danny Spradlin, Pam Spradlin, Ronnie Spradlin, Sarah Spradlin, Lynn Spradlin, Vickie Pruitt, Tony Gaddis, Kenny Gaddis, Cindy Wallace, Terri Spradlin; special friends, Lula Baumgardner and the nurses at Asbury Acres. Edward Fred Simpson, age 94, of Maryville, born August 29, 1908, passed away Sunday, June 20, 2004 at Asbury Place of Maryville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hassie Dishner Simpson; infant daughter, Mary Simpson; father, Blane Simpson; mother, Mattie Monger Simpson; and brothers, Andrew and Johnny Simpson. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby and Geraldine Simpson of Philadelphia, TN, and Frank and Betty Simpson of Maryville; daughter, Betty Faye Brewer of Maryville; brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Mary Simpson; and special niece, Wanda Simpson of Loudon; grandsons, Kenneth Simpson and wife Tammy of Maryville, Jamey Brewer of Maryville, and Keith Brewer and wife Sarah of Maryville; granddaughter, Debby Ingle and husband Mark of Maryville; great-grandchildren, Kelly and Alex Ingle, Kendall and Kevin Simpson, Chris Brewer Stinnett, Gage Brewer, and Garrett Blair all of Maryville; special friends, Courtney Brewer of Maryville, Andy Cooper Family of Wartburg, Homer and Cleo Roberts of Maryville, Delsa Simpson of Loudon, The Estes Family of Lenoir City, The Monger Family, and neighbors and friends of the Williamson Chapel Community and Liberty Baptist Church. LLOYD `TOBY' DAVIS
Lloyd 'Toby' Davis, age 74, of Louisville died Friday, June 18, 2004, at Blount Memorial Hospital. preceded in death by son, Tony Davis. Survivors include: wife, Doris Davis, son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Sandy Davis of Maryville; daughter and son-in-law, Tammie and Toby Hutchens of Jacksonville, Fla.; grandson, Matthew Davis of Maryville; granddaughter, Melanie Davis of Knoxville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack and Juanita Davis of Maryville, Sid and Lucy Davis of Maryville, Ralph and Margaret Davis of Sevierville; sisters, Lucille Adair of Magee, Miss., and June Staley of Kingston; several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will assemble for graveside service and interment at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 22, at East Maryville Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. George Macht officiating. ZOLA ELIZABETH MITCHELL
Zola Elizabeth Mitchell, age 84, of Greenback, passed away Saturday morning June 19, 2004, at the family home. She was a member of Oakland United Methodist Church and retired from the U.S. Post Office in Greenback. She was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Navy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Pearl Blankenship; daughter, Rhonda Ilo Mitchell; sisters, Reta Wear, Irene Linkenfelter and Hazel Long; and brothers, John Blankenship, Ralph Blankenship and Ben Blankenship. She is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Milus Mitchell; daughter, Jane Mitchell of Greenback; grandson, Shane Lambert of Louisiana; granddaughters, Tania Hunter and husband Gary of Maryville, Joy Heard and husband Jack of Friendsville; great-grandchildren, Christopher Lambert, Wade Baker, Justin Hunter, Taylor Coley, Bryson Heard and Gabie Heard; and brother Kenneth Blankenship and wife Zela of California. A special thanks to Shirley Daily, Mary Cook and Jean Gentry for all their months of support and care for Mrs. Mitchell and her family. A special thanks also to Becky Underwood of Blount Home Health Care. Funeral service will be 8:00 p.m., Monday, June 21, at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Fred Heard officiating. LILLIE BIBLE
Lillie Bible, age 80, of the Joyner Community, passed away Thursday, June 17, 2004, in the Lifecare Center of Morgan County. She was of the Baptist Faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nelson and Minnie (Roberson) Bowers; husband, James Harrison Bible; and granddaughter, Teri Lynn Bible. She is survived by: sons and daughters-in-law, James W. and Karen of Spring City, Douglas M. and Patricia of Dover, Donald W. and Kathy of Wartburg, Coy Lee and Sherri of Knoxville, Roy Dale and Cheri of Wartburg, and Roger Allen and Elizabeth of Coalfield; stepdaughter, Earlene Singlton Gregory of Harriman; 16 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Francis Bowers; sister, Rosie Colvin.
The family will receive friends Saturday, June 19, from 5-7 p.m. at Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg. Funeral services will begin at 7 p.m. with Brother David Kunsman officiating. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, 3 p.m., in Anderson Memorial Gardens.

JACKIE LEEANN HOLLIFIELD
Jackie Leeann Hollifield, age 24, of Maryville, passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2004, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She is preceded in death by her father, Jerry Hollifield; grandmother, Ruby Akins; and grandmother, Georgie Russell. She is survived by her children, Lindsay Hollifield, age 7, Blake Costner, age 2, and Jordan Hollifield, age 5 months, all of Maryville; mother, Kathy French of Maryville; stepfather, John Moss of Maryville; brothers and sister-in-law, Adam Hollifield and Heather Butler of Maryville, Jamie and Tammy Hollifield of Louisville, and Jerry Marotz of Knoxville; great-aunt and -uncle, Shirley and Jackie Morgan; uncles, Ronnie and Eddie Russell; aunt, Connie Sink; niece and nephew, Brittney and Dylan Hollifield; grandfather John Akins; grandfather, Charles Russell; and several cousins. Funeral service will be held 3:30 p.m. Sunday, June 20, at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel with the interment to follow at Clark's Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.

NELLIE SING JOHNSON
Nellie Sing Johnson, age 89, of Maryville, passed away on Thursday, June 17, 2004, at Asbury Place of Maryville. She was a member of Wildwood Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Wade K. Johnson; parents, Henry and Flora Sing; sister, Mae Hicks; and brother, Robert Sing. Survivors include: son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth E. and Meralene Johnson; daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Dale McCammon, Judy and Bill Clabough, and Jane and Hugh Hardman, all of Maryville; brother and sister-in-law, John and Dortha Sing; sister-in-law, Lucille Newman of Knoxville; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Nellie and J.A. Newman of Maryland; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 19, at Miller Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Ann Robins officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Ballard's Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ballard's Chapel cemetery Fund, c/o Mike Hicks, 2446 Topside Rd., Louisville, TN 37777. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.

DAVID LEE RUBRIGHT
David Lee Rubright, age 48, died suddenly Thursday, June 17, 2004, at his home in Knoxville. He was born August 24, 1955, at Great Lakes, Ill. He was a graduate of Bearden High School and Draughons Business College and was employed in sales at West Side Honda of Knoxville.
Survivors include his parents, Dr. Robert and Edwena (Bob and Eddy) Rubright of Maryville; son, Derek Rubright of Maryville; sister and brother-in-law, Diana and Bobby Clancy of Knoxville; brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Kelly Rubright of Knoxville; special friend, Deirdre Garland of Knoxville; several nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and great-nephews.
A memorial service will be held 4:00 p.m. Sunday, June 20, at the John XXIII Catholic Center, 1710 Melrose Place, Knoxville, with Father Eric Andrews officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Catholic Center. All flowers should be delivered to the Catholic Center.

Josie Baker Cooper, age 84 of Maryville died Monday morning June 28, 2004. She was preceded in death by husband: Alvin P. Baker Sr.; infant son: Joseph Allen; infant daughter: Teresa Sue; daughter: Peggy LaRue Garcia; father: Allen Butler; mother: Nora McMillan; brothers: George McMillan, Obie Butler, Howard Butler, Alvin Butler; sisters: Violet Largent, and Phoebe Malonee. Survivors include: husband: Dewey L. Cooper; son and daughter in law, Arkie D. and Phyllis Baker; stepsons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Shirley Cooper, Leslie and Linda Gass; daughters: Shannon and LaMar Reynolds, Debbie and Don Blair; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Pat and Randy Word; sisters: Jennie Anderson, and Mary Dover; special niece and caregiver: Judy Bunch; and special granddaughter and caregiver, Melissa Norris; several other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews. DAVID CALVIN HITSON
David Calvin Hitson, age 60 of Marietta, Georgia, died Saturday, June 26, 2004. A native of Maryville, Mr. Hitson had lived in the Cobb county area for the past 18 years. He was a Quality Control Specialist with Southern Ice Cream Specialties Company. He was of the Methodist faith. Survivors include his mother, Margaret Hitson of Maryville; sons, Brent Hitson and Brad Hitson both of Birmingham, Alabama; brothers, Phillip Hitson of Maryville and William "Bill" Hitson of Atlanta, GA; sister, Eloise Landers of Maryville and 4 grandchildren. Funeral service 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 30, 2004, Trinity Chapel, Smith Mortuary with interment to follow at Grandview Cemetery. 865-983-1000.

DAVID WAYNE MORTON
David Wayne Morton, age 46, of Maryville, died Monday, June 28, 2004 at the family home after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was a member of Lamplight Full Gospel Church, where he played the guitar and bass.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Winona Willocks Amburn; and brother, Larry Morton.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Faye Morton; daughters, Whitney Morton and Becky Pendergrass, both of Maryville; daughter and son-in-law, Holly and Jeremy Durham of Rossville, GA; parents, Hollis and Sandra 'Helen' Morton; grandchildren, Jimi, Rebecca, Lucas, Krista, E.J., and Raven; sisters and brothers-in-law, Debbie and Lee Ford of Maryville, Connie and Kenneth Hammond of Tucker, GA, Michael and Ray White of Maryville; brother and sister-in-law, Hollis and Crystal Morton of Maryville; special fishing buddies, Lee Ford, Gary Willocks, and Wallace York.
Funeral service will be 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 30, 2004, in the Dotson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ronald Morton officiating. Interment will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 1, 2004, at Clarks Grove Cemetery.
