Doris Lents (Mrs. Jesse) Gambill, of Lenoir City, passed away Thursday, March 11, 2004 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. William S. Lents of Knoxville. She was a member of the Dixie Lee Baptist Church and a member of the Faithful Workers Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Gambill. She is survived by her brother, James M. Lents of Andersonville; beloved sister-in-law, Mrs. Ruby Lents; special niece, Auretta Kirby; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Friday followed by funeral services at 8 p.m. in the Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel with Rev. Jim Clayton officiating. Family and friends will gather at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Edgewood cemetery in Knoxville for graveside services and interment. Beatrice (Bea) Rogers Foster Grubb of Knoxville passed away Thursday, March 11, 2004. preceded in death by husbands, Frank Foster and Carroll Grubb; mother and father, Huse and Fannie Rogers; sister, Helen Baker; and brother, Robert Rogers.
Survivors are sons, Mike Foster; and granddaughter, Melina Foster of Knoxville, Steve Foster and granddaughter, Elaine of Minnesota; sisters, Martha Noah, Shirley Tipton and Barbara Palmer of Friendsville, Frankie Kivett of Maryville, Dorthy Linginfelter of Knoxville; and brother, Roy Gene Rogers of Friendsville; several nieces and nephews.

Glenn E. 'Chuck' Hannah Jr., age 53 of Maryville, passed away after a lengthy illness Wednesday, March 10, 2004 at the family home. preceded in death by mother, Lois Cooper Hannah; nephew, Alvin Phillips. Survivors include wife, Terena Compton Hannah; father, Glenn E. Hannah Sr. of Walland; foster fathers, Dr. Howard B. Charlene Renee Prince, 23, passed away March 7, 2004. Born February 21, 1981. preceded in death by one sister `Angie' Beeler Moore; grandparents, Frank and Joy Bell, and Birdie Williams. Survivors include: sons, Skyler and Austin Marshall; brother, Charles Frank Prince; mother, Charlotte Bell Prince; father, Charles Edward Prince; her children's father, Michael Paul Marshal; nieces and nephews, Sheila, Daniel, Andrew, and Carlotta Moore; several aunts, uncles, and cousins. A memorial service to say `goodbye, we love you, and will miss you' will be at Sequoya Old Fort Loudon Fort Park, Sunday, March 14, 2004 at 2:00 p.m.

Frances Davis Warren, age 83 of Maryville, passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2004, at Shannondale of Maryville. She was a member of Broadway United Methodist Church, was a Regent of DAR, and a member of Dames of Magna Carta. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mead Warren; and parents, Samuel Homer and Mae Ashley Baker Davis.
Survivors include her daughters, Martha Ruble of Maryville, Ellen Warren Jones and husband Jim of Madison, GA; sons, Jim Warren and wife Evelyn of Maryville and Charles Young and wife Peaches of Woodstock, GA; grandchildren, Mike Ruble, Lorie Wolfe and husband Nathan, Mary Kathryn Warren, James Adam Warren, Jason Wood and wife Betsy, Brandon Young and Brooke Govert and husband Tyler; great-grandchildren, Cooper Wood, Alexus Govert and Hannah Wolfe; sister, Virginia Spencer and husband C.A. of Alabama; sister-in-law, Elizabeth McInnis of Maryville; a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2-3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 13, 2004, at Broadway United Methodist Church followed by a 3:00 p.m. memorial service with Dr. James Dougherty officiating.
At the request of Mrs. Warren, her body was cremated.

WILLIS E. WILLIAMS
Willis E. Williams, age 84 of Louisville went home to be with our Lord, Thursday, March 11, 2004. Mr. Williams peacefully passed away at home with his family nearby. He was born September 10, 1919 to Henry and Lula Williams of McMinn Co. He was a follower of Jesus Christ and a faithful member of Armona Baptist Church where he served as deacon. He retired from Alcoa Aluminum Company after 44 years of service and was a life-long farmer. He was a true friend to many and an honored veteran of the US Navy where he served on the USS Hermitage during World War II. Throughout his life, Mr. Williams had a passionate love for his country and cared deeply about its welfare and future. preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Harry Williams; a faithful husband and devoted father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lou Allie (Miller) Williams; sons, Bruce Williams of Kingsport and Dennis Williams of Louisville; sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Noy Williams of Louisville and David and Karen Williams of Alcoa; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Kevin Carver of Louisville; grandsons, Joshua, Nathan, Taylor, and Marshall; grand-daughters, Kristen, Emily and Arisa; grand-daughter, Samantha Lou Blair and husband Scott of Greenback; sisters-in-law, Myrtle Williams of Athens and Ina Lemming of Texas; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Rev. Ades Bailey Milligan, age 95 of Maryville, passed away Monday, March 8, 2004, at Asbury Acres Healthcare Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred M. Milligan.
Survivors include her daughter, Carol Rubin of Boston, MA; son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Bettye Milligan of Greensboro, NC; grandchildren, David Rubin, Sally Rubin, Noah Rubin, Tom Milligan and Mary Milligan Farren.

Ona Jane Woody Wilson, age 102 of Maryville passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2004, at Asbury Acres. She was a charter member of Victory Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by husband, John Harvey Wilson; son, John William Wilson; parents, Rev. John Allen and Mattie Woody; brother, Elmer Woody; sister, Minnie Purkey; sons-in-law, Pearlie B. Anderson and William H. McElhaney. Survivors: son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Clyde `Punk' Thompson, 59, of Friendsville, passed away Tuesday, March 09, 2004. He was a member of New Born Baptist Church. Survived by his devoted wife of 39 years, Sally Reagan Thompson; children, Charlie and Donna Thompson, Edith and Roger Ogle all of Seymour, and Tia Thompson of Maryville; grandchildren, Tiffany Ogle, C.J. Ogle, Marcus Thompson, and Kimberly Thompson; one sister; several brothers, nieces, and nephews. Jewel Almeta Best Carpenter, age 84, of Barnesville, Ga., formerly of Maryville, passed away Saturday, March 6, 2004, at Heritage Inn Nursing Center, Barnesville, Ga. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Carpenter; parents, Ray and Lela Best; step-mother, Elizabeth Best; brothers, Roscoe Best, Leon Best and Willie Best; and sister Athelene Fuller.

Ira A. Smith Sr., age 77, of Maryville, originally of Tampa, Fla., passed away Friday, March 5, 2004, at Colonial Hills Nursing Center.

She was a devoted Christian woman, prayer warrior, loving wife and mother and she leaves many friends and loved ones behind. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Clay Jenkins and stepson, Arthur Jenkins.
