Dorothy Webb, 72, of Seymour, passed away Sunday, March 14, 2004, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Lee Jones and Loma M. Kitts; sisters, Cleola Jones and Anna Mae Jones; brother, Oscar Leo Jones. She is survived by her loving family; husband, Harry Webb; son, David Webb and wife, Kathy; sisters, Janice Monday and husband James, Rhonda Webb; grandchildren, Rhonda Marie Webb, Cody and Jason Suttles; sister, Gracie Lee Summers. She also leaves behind numerous nephews and nieces. Mrs. Webb is at Highland South Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Monday, March 15, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. with a chapel service to follow at 7:30 p.m. with the Reve. W. A. WILLARD HAROLD 'DUKE' WHITEHEAD
Willard Harold 'Duke' Whitehead, age 72, of Cleveland, TN, passed away at his home Saturday, March 13, 2004. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force where he served his country faithfully for 10 years. He was employed with Coppingers C.P.Q. for 18 years until becoming ill in 1992. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nola and Wayne Whitehead, one sister, Betty Stewart and one brother, Raymond Whitehead, all formerly of Maryville, TN. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Sylvia A. Whitehead, Cleveland, TN, children, Robert Whitehead of Charleston, Greg and Lisa Whitehead, Donald and Dalina Whitehead and Jenny and Jerry Glover all of Cleveland, TN, grandchildren, Stoney, English, Dane, Brett, Donlee, Donavan Whitehead, Christopher Hedge Brooks, Wesley Glover and Brittany and David McGill all of Cleveland, TN, three sisters and spouses, Norma and Harold Huffstetler, Shirley and Don Bolinger all of Maryville, TN and Helen and Bill Holbrook of Michigan. Margaret Gladys Davis Everett, age 84, of Maryville, passed away peacefully at her home Friday, March 12th while surrounded by her loved ones. She was a long time member of Piny Level Baptist Church. Her greatest joys in life were her family, friends, and always helping others in need. She also took great pride working in her flowers and doing needlework. She was preceded in death by her husbands, George W. Davis and Lawrence Everett; parents, Mary Ann and Judd Rogers; brothers, Ben, Ethan, Jim, and Luther Rogers; and sister, Minerva Houser. EDWARD KNOLL
Edward Knoll, age 90 of Maryville passed away Thursday, March 11, 2004, at the family home after an extended period of ill health. Throughout his illness he maintained his sense of humor and enjoyed watching football and golf. Born in South Pittsburg, TN, he was a resident of Maryville since 1943. He was a member of Broadway United Methodist Church and North Maryville Lion's Club. A graduate of Hiwassee College and of Emory & Henry College in 1936, Mr. Knoll was a scholarship football player at both colleges. He was a former Blount County School Board member and former owner of Blount Ice & Coal Company. Mr. Knoll was a coach and teacher at Madisonville High School, Friendsville Elementary School, and Friendsville High School. preceded in death by: Parents, Carl & Bertha Hookey Knoll; Daughter, Frances Knoll Lail; Siblings, Edna Woodard, Earl Knoll, Richard Knoll. Survivors include: Wife of 60 years, Judith Peace Knoll; Daughter and Son-in-law, Mary & Lamar Russell of Cape Canaveral, FL; Grandchildren, Mary Ruth Russell of Atlanta, Matt Russell of Cape Canaveral, FL, Beth Lail and Eddie Lail of Maryville. MOZELLE SHIRLEY
Mozelle Shirley, 87, of Malvern, Ark., died Wednesday, March 10, 2004, in a local Hot Springs hospital.
She was born April 23, 1916, in Batesville, Arkansas to the late Ernest Turner and the late Effie Turner. She was retired; she previously was employed by Blue Ribbon Shoes in Malvern where she worked as a sales clerk. She was a member of the Third Baptist Church of Malvern. She loved people and it was just her nature to always try to help people who were in need. This was exemplified by her many hours she spent volunteering at Hot Springs Medical Center in Malvern. She also loved her job as a Greeter at the Malvern Wal-Mart. She always had many smiles to share.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Leon Shirley Sr. of Malvern; a daughter, Peggy Ballard and her husband Glenn of Louisville, TN; 4 sisters, Ernestine Fulbright of Little Rock, Avis Turner of Little Rock, Faye Blue of Little Rock, Juanita Griffin of Conway; 6 grandchildren, Stan Ballard, Rose Justice, Lanai Slater, Tad Shirley, Sheryl Shirley and Stacy Shirley; 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Leon Shirley Jr.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 13, 2004, Third Baptist Church, Malvern with Rev. Rick Hyde and Rev. Stan Ballard officiating.
Interment will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers, Rose Justice, Lanai Slater, Tad Shirley, Sheryl Shirley, Stacy Shirley, J.W. Brumley, Jesse Rucker and Orville Henson.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Louise Okla Line Thompson, age 78, passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter, Polly Evans, on Saturday, March 13, 2004. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Charles Thompson, and parents, Okla Jane and William D. Line, of Granite City, IL. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Stephen Line of St. Louis, MO.
Survivors include: daughters and sons-in-law, Sue and Larry Axtell of Warner Robbins, GA and Polly and Chad Evans of Greenback. Grandchildren: Amy Weber of Greenville, NC, Kim Grizzle of Warner Robbins, GA. William Dean Wallace, age 46, of Maryville, died Thursday, March 11, 2004, at Blount Memorial Hospital.
He was a lifelong resident of Blount County. He was also a member of Zion's Chapel Baptist Church.

Laura Mae Welsch, 86, of Hixson, TN passed away Thursday, March 11, 2004. She was an executive secretary with Vocational Rehabilitation with the State of Tennessee and was a member of Hixson United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Dale Welsch; and daughter, Linda Pitsinger Abbott.
Survivors include her daughters, Ann Pitsinger Gass, and husband Dr. Marvin B. Gass of Maryville, TN and Joy Pitsinger Smith and husband Alvin Smith of Hixson, TN; three grandchildren, Barry L. (Michelle) Gass of Dallas, TX, Tony (Amber) Smith of Hixson, TN and Kathy Abbott; great-grandchildren, Alex and Logan Gass and Chris Delabano all of Dallas, TX and Jennifer Ann.

B.C. (Radar) Curtis, 47, a resident of Wetumpka, Ala., died Wednesday, March 10, 2004 in a local hospital after an extended illness. He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Curtis; daughter, Crystal Curtis.
