HAYES VIRGINIA CENTEBAR
Hayes Virginia Centebar, of Maryville, passed away Sunday, March 14, 2004, at the home of a daughter. She was an avid supporter of the Maryville-Alcoa Community-College Orchestra and reviewed the concerts in The Daily Times. Hayes was active in community theater as both an actress and director and volunteered countless hours in wide-ranging community activities in Maryville, Chillicothe, Ohio and Jacksonville, Texas. She was born in Hot Springs, Arkansas and moved to Maryville in 1955. preceded in death by: parents, Gaspard P. and Ava Craft Bumpass; brothers, Kent Bumpass and Dudley Bumpass; sisters, Lenore Bumpass and Marnette Norris. Survivors include: husband of 44 years, George H. Centebar of Maryville; daughters, Nicolette Andrews of Maryville and Kerry Shibley of Townsend; daughter and Son-in-law, Kirk Andrews and Terence Brunning of Townsend; ten grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren. Always one who marched to the beat of her own drummer, Mrs. Centebar will be cremated and no funeral or memorial service will be held according to her wish.
FELICITY MARIE CHAMBERS
Felicity Marie Chambers, infant daughter of Trent and Jessica Chambers of Louisville, died Sunday, March 14, 2004, at UT Medical Center.
She was preceded in death by her great-uncle, Roy Sands; great-grandmothers, Marjorie Moore, Joy Cooke, and Marjorie Grindstaff; cousin, Jordan Dean.
Other survivors include her sister, Raven Chambers of Louisville; grandparents, Kenneth Davis, Mike and Elaine Carroll, all of Maryville; Larry and Claudia Chambers of Louisville; great-grandparents, Ann Grace Chambers and Euston Cooke, both of Maryville; aunts and uncles, Silvania and Larry Chambers Jr., Laura Davis; great-aunts and uncles, June Sands, Travis Cooke, Terry Cooke, Diane Anderson, Doug Cooke, Linda and Junior Dial, Betty Bowman; cousins, Brennan Davis, Joshua Chambers, and Anna Chambers.
Funeral service will be 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2004, in the Dotson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ronnie Hepperly officiating. HOLLIS `SIS' ELIZABETH DOCKERY JAMES
Hollis 'Sis' Elizabeth Dockery James, age 91 of Robbinsville, passed away, Saturday, March 13, 2004, at Harris Regional Hospital in Sylva, NC.
She was a native of Graham County and the daughter of the late Charles and Bessie Bryson Dockery. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank James Sr. in December of 1999; her daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Kenneth Gregory; and 9 brothers.
She is survived by her son and his wife, Frank Jr. and Mary Jane James of Robbinsville; daughters and their husbands, Maxine and Ray Millsaps, Emma Jean and Dave Stewart all of Robbinsville, and Denise and Jody Ensor of Maryville, TN. She has 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2004, at the Robbinsville First Baptist Church. The Reverends Daniel Stewart, Fred Lunsford, Kenny Ball, and Noah Crowe will officiate. Burial will be in the Old Mother Cemetery. The family received friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Townson-Smith Chapel. LILLIE MAE PASS
Lillie Mae Pass, of Maryville, passed away at Ft. Sanders NHC at age 80. She was a member of Hillview Baptist Church in Louisville.
Lillie is preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Nina Robbins; and younger brother, James Robbins.
Lillie is survived by her husband, Allen L. Pass of Maryville; sons, Earl Pass of Walland, Allen (Bill) Pass, Jr. and wife Brenda Young Pass of Louisville; daughter, Shelby and husband Danny Garland of Maryville; brother, George Robbins and wife Dale of Maryville; half-sister, Mildred Wolf of Knoxville; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Jones of Louisville and Mable Pass of Knoxville. Lillie has 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 16, 2004 at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home.
Family and friends will meet at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 17, 2004, at Middlesettlements cemetery for a graveside service with Rev. Rick Morgan and Rev. Ronnie White officiating. Memorials may be made to Hillview Baptist Church or to the Gideon Bible Society.

Mary Carolyn (Nana) Purkey, 73 of Maryville died Sunday March 14, 2004, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She is proceeded in death by her parents, Charles and Mary Sammie Blair; sisters, Laverne Moss, Faye Webb, Carrie Henry, Louise Bowers; brothers, Franklin, Orie, and Earl Blair. Dorothy Webb, 72, of Seymour, passed away Sunday, March 14, 2004, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Lee Jones and Loma M. Kitts; sisters, Cleola Jones and Anna Mae Jones; brother, Oscar Leo Jones. She is survived by her loving family; husband, Harry Webb; son, David Webb and wife, Kathy; daughters, Janice Monday and husband James, Rhonda Webb; grandchildren, Rhonda Marie Webb, Cody and Jason Suttles; sister, Gracie Lee Summers. She also leaves behind numerous nephews and nieces. WILLARD HAROLD 'DUKE' WHITEHEAD
Willard Harold 'Duke' Whitehead, age 72, of Cleveland, TN, passed away at his home Saturday, March 13, 2004. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force where he served his country faithfully for 10 years. He was employed with Coppingers C.P.Q. for 18 years until becoming ill in 1992. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nola and Wayne Whitehead; one sister, Betty Stewart; and one brother, Raymond Whitehead, all formerly of Maryville, TN. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Sylvia A. WILLIAM BARKLEY (BILL) COLLINS
William Barkley (Bill) Collins, age 76 of Maryville went to be with the Lord on Saturday morning. He died at the family home, after a long battle with cancer. He was a member of the Royal Order of Jesters, Kerbela Temple, Knoxville Scottish Rite, Sevierville Masonic Lodge #334 F&AM, and Eastern Star. He was also a retired member of the IBEW Local Union 760. preceded in death by mother Lulah Morton Collins Willis, father Michael Collins and an infant brother. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Shirley Harris Collins of Maryville; three daughters and sons-in-law; Glenda and John Bobbitt of Dubuque, Iowa, Sherry and Kevin Coffey of Friendsville, Deborah and Mark Boling of Maryville; seven grandchildren; William, Lindsey and Sydney Bobbitt, Miranda, Morgan, and Sarah Coffey, and Savannah Boling; beloved nephew Jeff Russey and nieces Chrystal Evans and Amanda Harris; many special cousins and friends. Clyde Wayne Ferguson, age 70, of Walland, died Saturday, March 13, 2004, at Blount Memorial Hospital.
He was a United States Army Veteran who served in the Korean War. He was a retired truck driver.
Preceded in death by father, Harry Ferguson; mother, Arlie Ferguson; brothers, Jimmy and Joe Ferguson; sister, Katherine Dills.

Edna Mae Lawson Garland, age 78, of Maryville passed away Sunday, March 14, 2004, at Blount Memorial Hospital. preceded in death by husband, Albert Garland; son, Williard Garland; mother, Mary Lawson; father, Alfred Lawson; sister, Helen Lawson; and brothers, Billy and Donald Lawson.

COMMAND SGT. MAJOR (RETIRED) RALPH L. HALL
Command Sgt. Major (retired) Ralph L. Hall, age 75 of Maryville, passed away Sunday, March 14, 2004, at Shannondale Health Care Center. He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church of Maryville. He was a 1947 graduate of Walland High School. Hall, who entered the service August 14, 1950, concluded his career serving as the Command Sergeant Major for the Regiment Aviation Squadron of the 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment. A combat veteran of the Korean War, Hall was First Sergeant of the aviation unit when it was formed at McGhee Tyson Air Base. He was promoted to the rank of Command Sergeant Major in May 1986. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Claude and Ila Hall; Brothers, Roy Lee Hall and D.C. Hall. Survivors include: Wife, Myrna Boring Hall; Daughters and Sons-in-law, Terri and Robert Bradshaw of Maryville, Kathy and Jim Orcutt of Duluth, GA; Gina and David Wagner of Maryville; Grandchildren, Isaac and Nicholas Bradshaw, Jonathan Orcutt, Clay and Cody Wagner. The funeral service will be at 7:30 pm on Tuesday, March 16, 2004 at the First Baptist Church of Maryville, with the Rev. Charles Ballard officiating. REV. CURTIS J. KEITH
Rev. Curtis J. Keith, born November 9, 1924, passed away on Sunday, March 14, 2004, at 2:15 a.m. at St. Mary's Residential Hospice. He was a member of Black Oak Heights Baptist Church. He was pastor of six churches, Ridgedale Baptist Church, Holston Baptist Church, Valley Grove Baptist Church (Ball Camp Pike), Friendship Baptist Church of Lenoir City, Unity Baptist Church of Maryville, and Cold Springs Baptist Church of Maryville. He was interim pastor at five other churches. He was preceded in death by parents, Emma and James Keith; brothers, Eugene and Charles Keith; sisters, Hazel Keith and Lillian (Keith) Forrester. Survivors include his wife, Wanda F. Henson Keith; sons and daughters-in-law, Gary Keith of Fountain City, Jeff and Devona Keith of Fountain City, Brian and Carrie Keith of Franklin; granddaughters, Ansley and Lindsey Keith of Franklin; brothers, Lawrence, Ralph and Carrol Keith; sisters, Elsie (Keith) Crisp, all of Knoxville. Phrona Elizabeth Cowden Dixon Simerly, age 89 of Maryville died Sunday, March 14, 2004, at Colonial Hills Nursing Center. She was a member of Dotson Memorial Baptist Church. She loved to laugh, loved people and loved to work in her yard and garden. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Otis Dixon, and Virnace Simerly; son, Charles Otis Dixon; parents, Tom and Lottie Cowden; 2 sisters and 1 brother.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, John Chester and Ruby Dixon, of Maryville, Cecil and Diane Dixon, of Waukeagan, IL, William T. And Edna Dixon, of Maryville; daughters and sons-in-law, Beulah and Jack Damron, of Maryville, Sarah and Ronnie Gilbert, of Big Sandy, TN; daughter, Donna Nelson, of Maryville; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Stone, of Phoenix, AZ.
