HUBERT BAILEY Hubert Bailey, age 63, 1824 6th St. Ext., Bristol, TN died Monday, September 22, 2003 unexpectedly at Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was a native of Carter County and son of the late Columbus and Bessie Tipton Bailey. He was of the Free Will Baptist Faith and employed by Permatile Concrete Products, Bristol, VA, as a overhead crane operator. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gracie Mae Hampton Bailey, two brothers, Bruce Bailey and Buford Bailey and one step-son Jeffrey Fillers. Survivors include his wife, Peggy Bailey, of the home, one daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Jerry Hardin, Elizabethton, one step-son and spouse, Bobby and Tammy Fillers, Elizabethton, three grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, one great grandchild, four sisters, Irene Gregory, Alice Tolley, Pearl Honeycutt, Elvie Suominen, several nieces and nephews also survive. J.L Price, age 75, of 2496 Stateline Road, Elizabethton, died Saturday, September 6, 2003, unexpectedly at his residence. He was a native of Stone, KY, but lived most of his life in Carter County. Mr. Price was a son of the late James Lee and Lillie Greer Price. He was of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Price was a retired Tech./Sergeant from the United States Air Force after serving for 23 years, serving in World War II, Korean Conflict, and the Vietnam Conflict. He was formerly the owner and operator of Price Refrigeration . Mr. Price was a life member and former commander of the Captain Lynn H Folsom V.F.W. Post #2166, Elizabethton. He was preceded in death by; daughter, Kristie Price, Step-Daughter, Sandra Perry; two brothers, Warren and Raymond Price. Survivors include his wife, Agnes Pate Price, of the home; one daughter, Madonna Carlson, Elizabethton; one son, Warren Price, Hampton; two step daughters, Sharon Vance Williams, Elizabethton and Debra Vance Sorrensen, Jacksonville, FL; one sister, Edith Watts, Elizabethton; six grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive. `BONNIE HUGHES STREET Mrs. Bonnie Barnett Street, formerly Bonnie Hughes, age 75, 231 Cove Creek Road, Roan Mountain went home to be with the Lord, Friday, September 5, 2003 at the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital following an extended illness. A native of Pennsylvania, she was a life long resident of Roan Mountain and was the daughter of the late Leonard and Rosie Odom Barnett. Mrs. Street was an active member of Cove Creek Presbyterian Church. She was a retired cook at the Cloudland High School and former owner of Mom’s Café, Roan Mountain. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Carl Hughes, two sons Gary and Larry Hughes, a brother, Herman Barnett and one sister, Pauline Barnett Oaks Hitechew. Rick Marshall, age 47, of 782 Quail Hollow Drive, Elizabethton, died Saturday, September 6, 2003 at his residence following an extended illness. He was a native of Johnson City, but lived all of his life in Elizabethton. Mr. Marshall was a son of Earlene Thomas Marshall of Elizabethton, and the late Don R. Marshall. He was a member and Deacon at Grace Baptist Church in Elizabethton and a lifetime member of the Carter County Rescue Squad. Mr. Marshall was employed by Glaxo SmithKline Pharmaceuticals, Research Triangle Park, NC, as a Senior Executive Sales Representative. He was a graduate of East Tennessee State University. Mrs. Adalene Colvin Geisler Mrs. Adalene Colvin Geisler, age 88, a resident of Elizabethton, died Sunday, September 6, 2003 in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital. She was a native of Osawatomie, Kansas. Mrs. Geisler was preceded in death by; her mother, Jesse Merryman Colvin, her father Jessie Colvin and her step-mother Edna Makenson Colvin who was a mother to her. Mrs. Geisler was retired from the Elizabethton City School System where she taught Language Arts at T. A. Dugger Junior High School and Elizabethton High School. She had also taught at East Tennessee State University and Steed College. Mrs. Geisler was graduated from; Steed College, East Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree, the University of Tennessee with a Masters of Science Degree, and had earned 45 additional hours beyond her Masters of Science Degree. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Elizabethton Business and Professional Womens Club. Mrs. Geisler was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Elizabethton. She was preceded in death by her husband, The Rev. Raymond M. Geisler, Sr., one sister, Ruth Petro, and one brother, Carl Colvin. Mrs. Geisler is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Bob Treadway of Johnson City, two sons and daughters-in-law, Raymond M. and Marie Geisler, Jr., of Elizabethton, and Thomas Jesse and Anne Geisler of Knoxville, Tennessee, two sisters, Margaret Hughes of Tampa, Florida and Helen Hounchell of St. Petersburg, Florida, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive.
