AUDA RALPH PETERS Auda Ralph Peters, age 76, 200 Liberty Hollow Road, Elizabethton, died Sunday, September 21, 2003 at his residence of apparent heart attack. He was a native of Carter County, and was the son of the late John Wesley and Venia Elizabeth Colbaugh Peters. He was of the Baptist Faith and was a retired painter and janitor for Carter County School System. He was a member of Painter Local Union #437. He was a U.S. Army Veteran Having served in World War II as a medic in Germany. He was preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters, and a niece, Hildred Artino. Survivors include his wife, Betty Jane Peters, of the home, one son and daughter-in-law, Charles Edward and Judy Peters, NC, three daughters and 2 sons-in-law, Becky and John Lay, Clinton, TN, Genia and Steve Pierce, Elizabethton, Alice Elizabeth Peters, of the home, eight granddaughters, one grandson, 3 great grandsons, one great granddaughter, two sisters and one brother-in-law, Emma Hurley, Baltimore, MD, Reba and Jerry Vines, Elizabethton, several nieces and nephews also survive. The graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2003 at Blevins Cemetery. Military Honors to be accorded by Capt. Lynn H. Folsom, V.F.W. Post #2166. Active pallbearers will be Harold Lowe, Warren Deyton, Mack Brown, Norman Taylor, Maynard Peters, Steve Pierce and John Lay. Those who plan to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:55 a.m. on Wednesday. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 23, 2003 at Tetrick Funeral Home, or friends may call at the residence, 200 Liberty Hollow Road, Elizabethton anytime. PATRICK P. KILDOYLE Patrick P. Kildoyle, age 63, 610 Hattie Ave., Elizabethton, died Tuesday, August 12, 2003 in Quezon City, near Manila, in the Philippines. Mr. Kildoyle was a New York City native and was the son of the late Josey Beth Ellis Gregorie, Charleston, SC and the late Patrick A. Kildoyle, New York City, NY. Mr. Kildoyle spent his high school years in Madisonville, KY and graduated from Madisonville High School after which he served in the United State Army. He earned degrees from City College of New York and New York University. He worked for the Federal Reserve Bank in New York City as an economist for 15 years. Following this he managed several highly successful mutual funds on Wall Street. In more recent years, Mr. Kildoyle had business interests in the Philippines where he was a frequent visitor. He traveled extensively in Asia. Mr. Kildoyle is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Trieste Kildoyle, of the home, two sisters, Bette Baldwin, Johnson City, TN, Kathleen Kildoyle, Miami, FL, two brothers, George Kildoyle, New York City, NY, Edward Kildoyle, Burke, VA, and a number of nieces and nephews and a special friend, Lee Stinnett, Asheville, NC. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m., Monday, September 22, 2003 at Tetrick Funeral Home Chapel of Peace with Rev. Scott Foshie officiating. Inurnment will follow at Mountain Home National cemetery with Military honors to be accorded by Capt. Lynn H. Folsom V.F.W. Post #2166. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. on Monday, September 22, prior to the memorial service, or friends may call at the residence 610 Hattie Ave, Elizabethton anytime. PANSY M. TAYLOR Pansy M. Taylor, age 92, 156 Mill Pond Road, Elizabethton died Friday, September 5, 2003 at her residence following a brief illness. A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late George Issac and Elizabeth Bowers Morrell. She was a member of Hunter First Baptist Church. She was a retired employee of North American Rayon Corporation after 50 years of service as a inspector. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Love Taylor, a son, Robert Laddie Taylor and 22 brothers and sisters. Survivors include one sister, Marie Senter, Elizabethton, one grandson and spouse, Robert “Corky” and Doanie Taylor, Elizabethton, two great grandchildren, Benjamin Taylor, and Jeremy Taylor, both of Elizabethton, several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, September 7, 2003 at Tetrick Funeral Home Riverside Chapel with Dr. Dennis Deese and Rev. Burl Garland officiating. Music will be under the direction of Larry and Chris Pippin. Interment will follow the funeral service at Caldwell Springs Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. JOHN RUBEN POARCH John Ruben Poarch, age 79, 130 North Wayne Street, Arlington, VA, formerly of Elizabethton, died Tuesday, September 16, 2003 at Virginia Hospital Center, Arlington, VA. A native of Carter County, he was the son of the late Charles and Claudia Hawkins Poarch. He was of the Baptist faith and was a Brick Mason. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran having served in World War II. He was preceded in death by brothers. Survivors include his wife, Georgia Beale Poarch, of the home, four sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny and Karen Poarch, Elizabethton, Ronnie and Kathy Poarch, Gainesville, VA, Charles (Buddy) and Ruth Poarch, Port Saint Lucie, FL, Alfred (Donny) and Sherry Poarch, Wellsburg, WVA, one sister, Pearl Poarch, Elizabethton, one step-son, Maurice Brogen, Tampa, FL, 10 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 4 step great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive. A native of Carter County, he is the son of Mable Smith Chambers Hitechew, Roan Mountain and the late Don Chambers. He was a machinist. Survivors include his wife, Deborah J. Chambers, of the home, one son, Jason Chambers, Elizabethton, one grandson, Dylan Jason Chambers, Elizabethton, three brothers and sisters-in-law, Don, Jr. and Becky Chambers, Johnson City, Danny and Donna Chambers, Elizabethton, Bill and Catherine Chambers, Elizabethton, five sisters and three brothers-in-law, JoAnn and Pete Johnson, Wilma and Mearl Townsend, Linda Chambers, all of Roan Mountain, Pat Orren, Johnson City, Camie and Wayne McClain, Elizabethton, several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 20, 2003 at Tetrick Funeral Home Rhododendron Chapel, Roan Mountain with Rev. Jerry McCoury officiating. MARION LYNN DAVIDSON Marion Lynn Davidson, age 60, 1829 Bristol Highway, Watauga, died Tuesday, August 5, 2003 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following a brief illness. A native of Carter County, he was the son of the late Earnest C. and June Lafell Heaton Davidson. He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. Mr. Davidson was a Correctional Officer for the State of Tennessee, Department of Corrections. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in Vietnam and Korea. He was preceded in death by a brother, Marvin Davidson. Survivors include his wife, Virginai Cornett Manz Davidson, of the home, one daughter, Susan Richardson, Elizabethton, two sons, Kenneth Davidson, Tony Davidson, both of Elizabethton, two step-sons, Nicholas Manz, Elizabethton, Steven Manz, Oliver Springs, TN, three sisters, Brenda Foster, Joan Kiser, both of Elizabethton, Barbara Dugger, Powell, TN, four grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 7, at Tetrick Funeral Home Riverside Chapel with Rev. Gene Cornett and Rev. Walker Roberson officiating. A native of Fairfax County, VA, he is the son of Marian Pleskovic Watts, Manassas, VA, and of the late James Robert, “J.R.” Watts. He was of the Catholic Faith. He was a student. Survivors in addition to his mother, include three sisters, Christine Watts, Port Charlotte, FL, Elizabeth Felton, Manassa Park, VA, Jane Marie Lenz, Fairfax, VA, three brothers, Jerry Watts, of the home, Jimmy Watts, Fairfax, VA, Jeff Watts, Chattanooga, TN, several nieces and nephews also survive. Charles Edward “Eddie” Edens Charles Edward “Eddie” Edens, age 49, 147 Betterly Place, Elizabethton, died Friday, September 19, 2003, following an extended illness. A native of Carter County, he was the son of Louise Lovelace Edens, of the home and the late John Burley Edens. He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, John A. Ramsey, III. Mr. Edens was a 1971 graduate of Elizabethton High School and attended East State University. He was of the Baptist faith and a former construction worker. Survivors in addition to his mother include one step-daughter, Lori Tedder, Meadowview, VA; one step-son, Chad Richardson, Johnson City; two sisters and one brother-in-law: Brenda and Jimmy Morrell, Nashville and Kathy Edens Ramsey, Elizabethton; one half-brother and spouse, John B. “Buddy” and Helen Edens, Gilbert, SC; two nephews: Michael Morrell, Nashville and John Edens, Atlanta, GA; one niece, Betsy Edens, Salt Lake City, UT; special friends: Jackie Davis, Johnson City and Paula Eakins, Elizabethton. A native of Carter County, he was the son of the late Claude and Lois Norris Lethcoe. He was a painter. He was preceded in death by a brother, James Lethcoe. Survivors include one brother, Robert Lethcoe, Elizabethton, a special friend, Brenda Hathaway, Elizabethton, several nieces and nephews also survive. A memorial service for family and friends will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 21, 2003 at Church of God Of Prophecy with Pastor Marvin Slagle officiating. LONA M. STOUT Lona Maire Andes Stout, age 90, 548 Poga Road, Butler, died Sunday, October 12, 2003 at her residence following an extended illness. A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Nicie Andes Boso. Mrs. Stout was the granddaughter of Charlie and Janie Trivette Andes. She was a lifelong farmer and homemaker. She was a member of Stout Hill Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Haskel Stout, a son, Ray Stout, and an infant daughter, Carol June Stout. Survivors include six daughters and 4 sons-in-law, Dorothy Stout, of the home, Margery and Allen Church, Butler, Janet and Edgar Tucker, Woodbridge, VA, Joy and Lee Pennington, Middletown, KY, Jean and Burl Miller, Elizabethton, Sandy Miller, Greeneville, TN, two sons and daughters-in-law, Bill Stout, of the home, Don and Nancy Stout, Greeneville, TN, eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 15, at Stout Hill Church of Christ with Mr. Mark Estepp and Mr. David Irick, Ministers officiating. Music will be under the direction of Carl Cable. Interment will follow the funeral service in the Stout Cemetery, Butler.
