EMMA JEAN COLE Emma Jean Cole, age 63, 2140 West G. Street, lot 28, Elizabethton, died Saturday, March 14, 2004, at her residence, following an extended illness. A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of Mildred Grace McKeehan, Elizabethton and the late Ont Humphreys. Mrs. Cole was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Survivors in addition to her mother are her husband, Doran Cole, of the home; one son, Tracey A. Morris, Elizabethton; two daughters: Wendy C. Morris and Rona L. Arrington, both of Elizabethton; four grandchildren: Amber N. Morris, Dustin Arrington, Samantha Arrington and T.J. Morris, all of Elizabethton; four sisters: Frances Buck, Johnson City, Pauline Smith, Virginia Nidiffer and Brenda Humphreys, all of Elizabethton; four brothers: Paul Humphreys and Charles Humphreys, both of Elizabethton; Jack Humphreys and Mike Carver, both of Johnson City; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service will be conducted at 8:00 P.M., Monday, March 15th in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home, with Rev. Steve Burleson officiating. Music will be under the direction of Rick Sheets. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Monday, prior to the service or at the residence at anytime. Graveside service and interment will be at 11:00 A.M. - Tuesday, in Happy Valley Memorial Park. ONNIE MAE ESTEP RICHARDSON Onnie Mae Estep Richardson, age 81, Pine Ridge Care Center, Elizabethotn, formerly of Dry Branch Road, Elizabethton, died Tuesday, January 20, 2004 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following an extended illness. A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Sam and Liza Richardson Estep. She was of the baptist faith and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville Richardson, two sisters, Iva Dean Rutter, Veda Crosswhite and three brothers, Earl Estep, Albert Estep, and Authur Estep. Survivors include one daughter Tammy Richardson Hughes, Elizabethton, one granddaughter, Nikki Hughes, Elizabethton, one great grandson, Dominque Story-Hughes, Elizabethton, one sister, Leone Grindstaff, Lenoir City, TN, one brother, Carson Estep, Johnson City, several nieces and nephews also survive. JACK M. HILL Jack M. Hill, age 67, 503 Watauga Avenue, Johnson City, who has gone to be with his daddy, died Saturday, January 17, 2004, in Ivy Hall Nursing Home, following an extended illness. A native of Carter County, he was the son of Alpha Hilmon Tipton, Roan Mountain and the late Thomas Hill. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Hill and a sister, Carmie Johnson. Mr. Hill was of the Baptist faith. Survivors in addition to his mother, are a sone, Tom Hill, Johnson City; a granddaughter, Tiffani Hill, Gray, TN; several nieces and nephews also survive. Patricia Gale Russell McQueen Patricia Gale Russell McQueen, age 58, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, March 7, 2004, in Sycamore Shoals Hospital, following a brief illness. A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Shoun and Florence Odom Stevens. She was a member of Sunset Free Will Baptist Church and a former employee of J & W Window Company. She was a 1963 graduate of Hampton High School. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Russell, a brother Gerald Stevens, and two grandsons, Daniel Cox and Seth Cox. Mrs. McQueen was a loving wife, caring mother, tender grandmother and a dear friend to all who knew her. God’s wonderful love and mercy kept her from having any pain. The heavens are celebrating and rejoicing with this faithful servant. She was a dedicated and loving person that space cannot allow to name each person who has been a part of her life. When you think of Gale, don’t think of her being sick. Visualize her brand new body, running, talking and holding babies, enjoying the golden streets of heaven. Her wishes and desires were to celebrate her life and for everyone to reunite with her in heaven. We all love and miss her dearly. Survivors include her husband, Kyle McQueen, of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law: Angela and Jeff Odom and Lenora and Danny Cox, all of Hampton; three sisters: Joyce Snead, Elizabethton, Flo Hughes, Hampton and Delores Taylor, Kingsport; two brothers: Les Stevens, Gray and Verlin Stevens, Hampton; two grandchildren: Scott Odom and Vanessa Cox, both of Hampton; several nieces and nephews also survive. A native of Carter County, he was the son of Barbara Campbell, Roan Mountain and the late Bobby Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a carpenter and was active in Teampenning.
