Stella Loretta Bounds Young

Mrs. Stella Loretta Bounds Young age 87 of McMinnville, TN died Saturday, January 07, 2017, at St. Thomas River Park Hospital, in McMinnville TN. She was born November 27, 1929, in Warren Co., TN, was a homemaker, and a member of McMinnville Primitive Baptist Church. Mrs. Young was preceded in death by parents James and Jalie Mae Dodson Bounds, her husband Walter Wood Young, twin sons Terry Lee Young and Jerry Lynn Young, 2 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
Survivors include son Gary Walter Young, daughter Wanda Smith, daughter and son-in-law Cynthia and Kelly Basham, daughter and son-in-law Patricia and Roger Taylor, son Ronald Young all of McMinnville, step daughters Waltyne Cantrell and Judy (Jerry) Adams, 21 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family members and friends also survive.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 10, 2017, in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Elder Jerry Hennessee will officiate. Interment will follow at Webb Cemetery. The Young Family will receive friends Monday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and again Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home.
McMinnville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

66 year old Cathy Oneida Parker of Sparta died Sunday at St. Thomas DeKalb Hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of the Wolf Creek Baptist Church. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Herbie Leftwich and Donnie Agee will officiate and burial will be in the Peeled Chestnut Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3-8 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the service at 2 p.m. Parker was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Nettie Williams Alcorn; sisters, Frances Woods, Julana Martin, and Janie Bearbaum. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Danny Parker of Sparta. Two sons, Marty Parker of Woodbury and Shannon Parker of Sparta. Three grandchildren, Kalene and Isaac Farley, Braxton Parker, and Brantley Parker all of Sparta, One brother, William (Bill) and Mable Alcorn of Watertown. Three sisters, Marie and Larry Robinson of Temperance Hall, Jackie Raines of Manchester, and Sharon Hendrixson of Baxter and several nieces and nephews. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mary Evelyn Hale Taylor age 92 of Smithville passed away Thursday, December 29, 2016 at the home of her daughter, Faye and Dr. Kenneth Webb in Pulaski. She was born March 24, 1924 to her parents, the late William Overton and Martha Ervin Hale, Sr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Davis Taylor, Sr.; son-in-law, Keith Wilkerson; 7 sisters, Hallie (Fred) Cassity, Prudie (Tom) Pinegar, Julie (Charley) Gregory, Ruby (C.N.) LeDoux, Ruth (Odell) Walls, Martha Odell (Jesse) Bluhm, Barbara Billings; 3 brothers, Charlie (Lorene) Hale, Howard (Samantha) Hale, W.O. (Opal) Hale, Jr. Mrs. Evelyn is survived by 4 daughters, Faye (Dr. Kenneth) Webb of Pulaski, Sherry (Jimmy) Fox of Memphis, Jane Wilkerson of Lebanon and Rita (Randy) Jones of Pulaski; 1 son, Jack D. Taylor, Jr. of Smithville; 1 brother-in-law, Austin (Regina) Billings of Murfreesboro; 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 1 PM Saturday, December 31, 2016 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with her grandsons, Rev. Jim Fox of Cookeville and Rev. Wint Fox of Mumbai, India officiating, Vicky Fox of Mumbia, India will serve as vocalist and burial to follow in Snow Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be on Saturday 10 AM until the time of the service at 1 PM. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

48 year old Toni LaNette Davis of Smithville died Saturday at her residence. The funeral will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Gary Wilson will officiate and burial will be in the Mt. Holly Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 3- 8 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. until the service. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and a stocker at Walmart. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Cephas and Mary Jones and grandmother, Mentie Atnip. Survivors include her grandfather, Auval Atnip of Smithville. Father, Cantrell Jones of Smithville. Mother, Brenda Adams of Lebanon. Two brothers, Will and Amy Jones of Lebanon and Corey Adams of Lebanon. Children, Cyndy Nicole Savage Escue of Mt. Juliet and Justin Miles Davis of Watertown. Grandchildren, Taylor Escue of Mt. Juliet, Bo Escue of Mt. Juliet, and Emery Miles Davis of Watertown. God child, Rachel Kay Schuyler of Texas. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Sara Ford Moore

Sara Ford Moore, age 89, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2016 at North Side Health Care in Murfreesboro. She was a native of Cannon Co.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Paul & Jean Parker of Readyville; 2 Grandchildren, Leandra & John Habel of Unionville and Kevin & Michelle Parker of LaVergne; and Great Grandchildren, Emma Habel & Micah Parker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dan Ford & Laura Blair Ford; Husband, Jim Moore, Jr.; Daughter, Starreta Moore Fries; and Siblings, Henry Ford, Sally Melton, Louise Smithson, Mary Warren, & Hershel Ford.
Ms. Moore loved reading her Bible and listening to Elvis and the Gaithers. She was also an accomplished seamstress who made the drapes for a movie that was filmed at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina. She was a member of the Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be 11 AM Wednesday, December 28, 2016 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bros. Jim Paschal and Milton Stanley officiating. Interment will follow at Dekalb County Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be from 4 to 8 PM Tuesday, December 27, 2016.

88 year old Pauline Salyer Fritts of Alexandria died Saturday at Quality Rehab and Health Center. She was a native of Salyersville, Kentucky, a homemaker, and a member of the United Church of God. The funeral will be Thursday at noon at the Chapel of Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Rick Beam will officiate and burial will be in Hunter Memorial Park. Visitation will be Thursday from 10 a.m. until the service. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben J. Salyer and Ruth Penix, a child, Kay Ellen Fritts; brothers, Ramey, Happy Chandler and Mark; and a sister, Evalee. Survivors include her husband of almost 70 years, Preston Fritts of Alexandria. Children, Randall P. and Trish Fritts of Florida, Kimberly S. and John Walker of Lebanon, Joel A. and Jewely Fritts of Murfreesboro and Jason D. and Norene Fritts of Murfreesboro. Eight grandchildren, Twelve great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. Brothers and sister, Bill Salyer, Sue and Randy Stalbaum, Glen and Donna Salyer, Larry and Judy Salyer, and Ronnie and Samantha Salyer. Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria is in charge of the arrangements.

Barbara Gayle Overton Hylton age 63 of Smithville, passed away Friday night December 23, 2016 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro. She was born April 23, 1953 to her parents, the late Robert Earl and Mildred Leone Winter Overton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 brother, Fred Robert Overton and 1 sister, Marilyn Lee Lance. Barbara was office manager for F.Z. Webb and Sons Pharmacy, attended the Smithville First United Methodist Church and was involved with the Smithville/DeKalb County Chamber of Commerce for many years. Survivors include her husband of 45 years, John P. Hylton, Jr. of Smithville; beloved pets, Buster, Angel and Satchmo; 3 sisters, Cheryl England of Smithville, Ruth Moon of Ohio and Kathleen Frodle of Smithville; 1 brother, John Overton of Ohio; several nieces and nephews and special friends, Ron and Peggy Ferrell, Becky Roberts and Suzanne Williams. Funeral services will be conducted 11:AM Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. John Carpenter officiating and burial to follow in Mt. Holly Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday 2 PM until 7 PM and Wednesday from 9 AM until the time of the service at 11 AM. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

75 year old William "Bill" Page of Smithville died Wednesday at Centennial Medical Center. He was co-founder of the DeKalb County Girls Slow Pitch League and Bill Page Ball Park. He was also owner and operator of Page Brothers Construction. The funeral will be Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Dan Gulley, Tim Woodward, and Jordan Atnip will officiate. Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Della Atnip Page and a sister, Ruby Pinegar. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Jo Ann Page of Smithville. A son and his wife, Kelvin and Rea Page of Hillsboro. Grandchildren, Bray Page of Smithville and Morgan and Jordan Atnip of Smithville. One brother, W.J. Page of Smithville. Three sisters, Aliene Snyder of Smithville, Helen and Charles Cantrell of Smithville, and Barbara Vanatta of Smithville. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins survive. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. In addition to flowers, donations may be made to the DeKalb Girls Slow Pitch Softball League.

48 year old Carl Wade Carter of Smithville died Monday at DeKalb Community Hospital. He was a railroad worker, diesel mechanic, and a member of the Azel Christian Church in Azel, Texas. The funeral will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Jefferson Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. Carter is survived by his wife, Cynthia Carter of Smithville. Children, Joshua Carter of Smithville, Aletha Carter of Arkansas, Kyle Carter, and Dustin Hale both of Azel, Texas. Grandchildren, Kyla and Bradley. His mother, Marie Carter of Azel, Texas. His father, Don Wrigley. A sister, Sherry Carter of Azel, Texas. A brother, Bobby Carter of Texas. His mother-in-law and father-in-law, Marie and Jimmy Luna. The family asks that donations be made, in lieu of flowers, to DeKalb Funeral Chapel to help with funeral expenses.
