78 year old Charles Edward Hearn of Lebanon died Saturday at University Medical Center in Lebanon. He was a Wilson County native, business owner, farmer, and a member of the Dry Creek Baptist Church. The funeral will be Monday at 3:00 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Donald Owens and W.L. Baker will officiate and burial will be in the Hearn Hill Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Katherine Paschal Hearn; parents, Charles Hearn and Irene Marler Hearn. grandchildren, Dana Carol Hearn, Robert Adam Hearn and Jonathan Charles Hearn; and sisters, Madlyn Kennedy and Mildred Entrekin. He is survived by his wife, Mattie Hobbs Hearn. Three sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Carol Hearn and Joe and Tammie Hearn all of Alexandria and Ben and Kathy Hearn of Gordonsville. Three step-children, Ruth and her husband Chuck Farmer and Donnie and Carol Hobbs all of Lebanon and Lynette and Wayne Beadle of Norene. Grandchildren, Rob Hearn, Tim and Tyler Hearn, Mary Katherine Hearn, Brady and John Bratten Hearn. Step-grandchildren, Deanna and her husband Eric Purcell, Trey and Gabe Farmer, David and his wife Leann Beadle and Tommy and his wife Gaylynne Beadle, April and her husband Winston Beard, Misti Hobbs, and Heather and her husband Stuart Irby. Twelve great grandchildren and a sister, Sue Ella Vantrease of Watertown. Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria is in charge of the arrangements. Conley
78 year old Mary Ruth Conley of Smithville died Saturday morning at the Life Care Center in Sparta of an extended illness. She was co-owner of the Snow Hill Greenhouse and a member of the Indian Creek Baptist Church. The funeral will be Monday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Annie Anderson Brown and her husband, Lloyd Conley. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Carol Conley of Liberty. Two grandchildren, Michael and Jan Conley of Knoxville. Two sisters, Nita Perry of Sparta and Edna Alexander of Indiana. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. The family requests that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association in memory of Ms. Conley in lieu of flowers.

90 year old Edward Neal of Smithville died Monday at DeKalb Hospital. He was a retired state highway department employee, a member of the Northside Church of Christ, a member of the Board of Directors of the Model City Program, Board of Directors of the Upper Cumberland Development District, and the Board of Directors of the Smithville Housing Authority. The funeral will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burnes Lyons and Michael Roberts will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Sally Neal; his wife, Lena Bass Neal; three sisters; two brothers; and a daughter, Katie Holbert Vance. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Jamie and Debra Neal of San Diego, California. One daughter and son-in-law, Jacqueline and Wade Smith of Smithville. Seven grandchildren, Angela and her husband Steve Mullins of Algood, Andrea Holbert of Smithville, Christopher and his wife Carlene Smith of Murfreesboro, Brandon Edward Smith of Smithville, Jemetta Neal, James Neal, and Kevin Neal all of New London, Connecticut. Seven great grandchildren, Jon Mullins of Cookeville, Katherine Mullins of Nashville, Stephanie Holbert of Smithville, LeShay Stout of Smithville, Salina Neal of New London, Connecticut, and Salena Smith of Murfreesboro. 82 year old Carl Jones of McMinnville died Saturday at the Tennessee Veterans Home in Murfreesboro. 92 year old Monies Anna Hailey of Smithville and formerly of Cookeville died Sunday at NHC of Smithville. She was born in Brush Creek and was a homemaker and member of the Bildad Primitive Baptist Church in Smithville. The funeral will be Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Ricky Arnold and Tommy Sacran will officiate and burial will be in the Crest Lawn Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Smith (E.S.) and Myrtle Pritchett Frye; her husband, Cordell Hailey; a sister, Ina Maud Brewer; and a brother, Paul Frye. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Dorene Hailey of Costa Mesa, California; a sister-in-law, Mildred Frye of Gordonsville; a nephew, Kenneth and his wife Sue Frye of Gordonsville; a niece, Sylvia and her husband Al Carl of Nashville; three grandchildren, Laurie and her husband Peter Maly, Randy and his wife Kim Hailey, and Jeffrey and his wife Jan Hailey; and four great grandchildren. 66 year old Nannie Rose Miller of Woodbury died Sunday night at Stone's River Hospital in Woodbury. She was a retired school teacher for the Cannon County School System where she worked for 20 years. 50 year old Ronnie Vanatta of Smithville died Sunday at Saint Thomas Hospital in Nashville. He was an electrician, and a member of the Emmanuel Bread of Life. 84 year old James R. Frazier of Sparta and a native of DeKalb County died Sunday afternoon at the White County Hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at Hunter Funeral Home in Sparta. Entombment will be at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday in Hermitage. He is survived by his wife, Hazel Adaleen Cruise Frazier of Sparta. A sister, Ruby Smithson of Smithville. 80 year old John Morgan Webster of Smithville died Sunday afternoon at his residence. He was a farmer, shirt factory worker, and a member of the Malone's Chapel Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by sisters, Lette Agee and Bettie Johnson and a brother, Clarence Webster. He is survived by a daughter, Linda Sykes of Smithville. One granddaughter, Glenda and her husband Steve Johnson of Smithville. One grandson, Scott Sykes of Smithville. Five great grandchildren, Nioakah Johnson, Nicholas Johnson, Noah and Nautica Johnson, and Brandon Sykes.
