Maxwell
75 year old Boyd Maxwell of Smithville died Friday at DeKalb Hospital. He was a retired state highway department employee and a retired businessman. He attended the Phillipi Church of Christ. The funeral will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Ponder Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Alger and Lou Zelma Puckett Maxwell; one brother, Lloyd Maxwell; and two sisters, Lois Malone and Sammye Knott. He is survived by his wife, Charlie Mae Maxwell of Smithville. A daughter, Sammie Ray Maxwell of Smithville. Two brothers-in-law, Bob Knott of Smithville and Fred Jones of Sparta. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. The family requests that donations be made to the DeKalb County Foster Children in lieu of flowers.

91 year old Zona Lou Martin of DeKalb County died Thursday night at NHC Healthcare Center in Smithville of an extended illness. She was a homemaker and a member of the Mount View Primitive Baptist Church. The funeral will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Paul Violet and Shannon Cantrell will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Odell Martin; her parents, George Morgan Young and Pearlie Lou Adcock Young; and two sisters, Ona Cantrell and Lona Taylor. She is survived by several nieces and nephews and devoted caregiver, Oleta Bratcher of Smithville. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. 80 year old Virgie Irene (Wright) Arrington died Saturday at NHC Healthcare in Smithville. She was a homemaker and a member of the Altaloma Baptist Church, Goodlettsville. Visitation will be Tuesday at the Smith Funeral Home in Woodbury from noon until the funeral at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Riverside Gardens in Woodbury. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jesse Davis Arrington; one son, Robert (Bobby) Arrington; three brothers, Clarence, Verble, and Earl Wright; and one sister. 72 year old Martha Johnson Foster of Brentwood died Sunday at NHC of Brentwood. She was a homemaker and a member of the Harmony Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas William and Orvillena Baird Johnson; her husband, Stephen Lee Foster, Sr. and one son, Stephen Lee Foster, Jr. The funeral will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Williamson Memorial Funeral Home in Brentwood, with burial to follow in the Woodlawn cemetery in DeKalb County. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Dianne and Randy Knowles of Brentwood. 51 year old Donna Kay Brown Florida of Liberty died Sunday night at Stones River Hospital in Woodbury. She was employed at Federal Mogul, and a Baptist. The funeral will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, with burial to follow in the Mount Holly Cemetery. Survivors include her husband, Monroe Florida of Liberty. Four daughters and two sons-in-law, Lisa Simmons of Smithville, Tisha and Jason Hendrixson of Dowelltown, Julie and Jason Moore all of Smithville, and Samantha Florida of Liberty. One son, Justin Florida of Liberty. Six grandchildren, Matthew Florida, Elijah and Sydnee Hendrixson, Kaitlyn Simmons, Tony and Kristian Moore all of Smithville. Her parents, Jim and Novella Brown of Dowelltown. 86 year old Richard Hamilton Parsley of Warren, Michigan died Thursday of an extended illness. He was a World War II veteran, a member of the American Legion Post 173 and the VFW Post 5084, a Baptist, and a retired employee of the Midwest Wire Products Company. He was preceded in death by his parents, Haskel Parsley and Elizabeth Young Parsley, and one brother, Delton Parsley. The funeral will be held Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the chapel of Love-Cantrell & Cope Funeral Home in McMinnville. Mike Gay and Van Mathis will officiate, and burial will follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. 88 year old Irene Scott Smith of West Main Street, Alexandria, died Sunday morning at her residence. The funeral will be held Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at Avant Funeral Home in Alexandria. Visitation will be held Monday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Frank Smith. She is survived by two sons, David Hibdon and his wife Michelle of Mount Juliet and Steve Hibdon of Gallatin; a daughter, Judy Hibdon of Gallatin.
