81 year old Joe Eddie Hale of Woodbury died Sunday of an extended illness at his home. He was a Cannon County native, a farmer and a Baptist. The funeral will be Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home. Dennis Clark will officiate and burial will be in the Sycamore Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his parents, Maudie Caroline Robinson and A.A. Hale and two brothers, Paul and Roy Hale. Survivors include his wife, Christine Davenport Hale of Woodbury. Four children, LeRoy Hale of Woodbury, Kathy Jo Phillips of Smithville, Doyle Hale of Smithville and Joyce Hale of Woodbury. Two brothers, Walter Hale and Junior Hale both of Murfreesboro. One sister, Gracie Bowen of Murfreesboro. Six grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive. Woodbury Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Rader
96 year old Helen Harriett Rader of Dowelltown died Sunday night at NHC Healthcare Center of an extended illness. She was a retired factory worker. She was preceded in death by her parents, Scott and Grace Bacon Tucker. Survivors include a daughter, Joyceanne Roll of Dowelltown. A grandson, Garrett Roll of Kentucky. Three great grandchildren, Matthew, Ashley, and Abigale Roll. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. There will be a memorial service held at a later date.

Walker
75 year old Kelly Walker of Smithville died Wednesday at his home of an extended illness. He was a former DeKalb County Sheriff. Walker was retired and a member of the The Baptist Church. The funeral will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Glenn Roy Love and Phillip Adcock will officiate and burial will be in the New Union Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his parents, Waymon and Ersie Wright Walker; a brother, Cecil Walker; and a sister, Ruby Cantrell. He is survived by his wife, Velma Walker of Smithville. A son, Jason Walker of Smithville. A daughter, Diann Scott of Murfreesboro and a granddaughter, Angela Duke Tucker. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

19 year old Joseph Lee Farris of Smithville died Thursday at his residence. He was a Pentecostal. He is survived by his parents, Jimmy and Rebecca Underwood Farris; a brother, Jimmy and his wife Jessica Farris all of Smithville. Two sisters, Roxanna and her husband Chad Landis of McMinnville and Ashley Farris of Smithville. Two nieces, Alexis Landis of McMinnville and Makrya Farris of Smithville. Two nephews, Skyler Landis of McMinnville and Bryson Farris of Smithville. Several aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements, which are incomplete. 58 year old Joyce Marie White of Smithville died Wednesday at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. She was a house wife. The funeral will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Indian Creek Baptist Church where she was a member. Jeff Cripps and Cleo Sanders will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim George and Una Lee Vanatta Fish and a son, Bruce Dale White. Survivors include her husband, Jerry White of Smithville. Two daughters, Teresa Darlene Pyles of Liberty and Jerrie Marie Caldwell of Smithville. Four grandchildren, Tyler Lee Pyles and Jared Robert Pyles of Liberty, Matthew Hunter and Cody Fisher Caldwell of Smithville. 81 year old L.D. Knowles of Vaughn Lane, Smithville died Friday night, January 14 at his home. He was a retired nurseryman, farmer, member of the Mount View Primitive Baptist Church, Mason, Shriner, and a member of the Scottish Rites Club. His parents were the late Jim and Maggie Vaughn Knowles. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Ollie Womack and two infant brothers.
