Hobert Linnear, Jr.

56 year old Hobert Linnear, Jr. of Alexandria died Wednesday at Vanderbilt Medical Center. He was a factory worker and a member of the Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. He was born in DeKalb County. The funeral will be Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Hunter Funeral Home in Watertown. Thomas Hale will officiate and burial will be in Jennings Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the service. Linnear was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Tennessee Linnear. Survivors include his children, Angela Marie and husband James Wilkerson of Smithville, Michael Lynn and wife Amy Linnear of Alexandria, Donnie Wayne and wife Melody Linnear of Lebanon, Ronnie Lane Linnear of Lebanon, and Crystal Michelle and husband Michael Keaton of Lebanon. Grandchildren, Nathan Lawson, Dixie Cragmile, Gavin, Gabriel and Gage Linnear, and Arigail Keaton. Step-grandchildren, Stephanie Driver, Shellie and C.J. Wilkerson, and Dillon Knowles. Father, Hobert Linnear, Sr. of Watertown. Sisters, Ruth Ann and husband Charlie Lawson of Smithville and Brenda and husband J.R. Estes Linnear of Brush Creek. Hunter Funeral Home of Watertown is in charge of the arrangements.

Violet Hooper Sanders

90 year old Violet Hooper Sanders of Smithville died Tuesday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a retired housekeeper at DeKalb Hospital and a member of the Allen's Chapel Methodist Church. The funeral will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bill Robertson will officiate and burial will be in Whorton Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the service at 1:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benton Sanders; a son, Jerry Sanders; parents, Abb and Eliza Ashburn Hooper; and three brothers, Herman, Lonnie, and Thurman Hooper. Survivors include a sister-in-law, Wilma Hooper of Kansas and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Bonnie Lee Turner

90 year old Bonnie Lee Turner of Smithville died Tuesday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a homemaker. The funeral will be Friday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Michael Hale will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 2:00 p.m. Turner was preceded in death by her parents, Clifton A. and Ruby Lawrence Barnes; her husband, Johnnie Turner; a grandson, Shane Hawkins; and brothers, Lonnie, George, and Hobart Barnes. Survivors include children, Dorothy L. and husband Dr. Ryan Masters, and Haskell Junior and wife Anna Hawkins all of Smithville. A granddaughter and caregiver, Rebecca Burnette. Grandchildren, Jeffery Burnette, Deborah Lee Gonzalez, Ricky Hawkins, Jan Wilkins, and Joshua Masters. Great grandchildren, Catherine S. Freeman, Christina R. Lynn, James M. Freeman, II, Timothy R.W. Freeman, Megan Woodward, Amber Burnette, Allison Lee Gonzalez, Josh and Brandon Hawkins, and Jordan Wilkins. Seven great great grandchildren. A sister, Louise Anderson of Watertown and a brother, J.D. Barnes of Crossville. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Louise Nixon Alexander

90 year old Louise Nixon Alexander of Watertown died Monday at University Medical Center in Lebanon. Born in DeKalb County, Alexander was retired from Robertshaw Lux Time and a member of the Round Lick Baptist Church. The funeral will be Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the Round Lick Baptist Church. Rick Burns will officiate and burial will be in Poplar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Hunter Funeral Home in Watertown and at the church one hour prior to the service on Thursday. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Wilson Alexander; parents, Calvin and Verna Judkins Nixon; and a brother, Robert Dee Nixon. Survivors include daughters, Linda and husband Phillip Parkerson of Lebanon and Jean and husband Mike Flynn of LaVergne. Grandchildren, Tony and Brian Parkerson of Lebanon, Dana and husband Abe Scraggins of Smyrna, and Chad Flynn of LaVergne. Great grandchildren, Landon Rhodes Scraggins and Katherine Jane Scraggins. A brother, Alfred and wife Marie Nixon of Watertown. Nieces and nephews also survive. Hunter Funeral Home in Watertown is in charge of the arrangements.

Ammon Davis Billings, Jr.

63 year old Ammon Davis Billings, Jr. of Smithville died Friday at DeKalb Community Hospital. He was a member of the Indian Creek Baptist Church and he was retired from Carrier after working there for 36 years. The funeral will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Michael Hale will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 2:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ammon Davis, Sr. and Hazel Pauline Mabe Billings. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Teresa Billings of Smithville. Four children, Scarlet Adcock of Smyrna, Aleisha Fuson, Tonya Evans, and Ammon "Trey", III and wife Heather Billings all of Smithville. Seven grandchildren, Brandon Adcock, Jessica Billings, Megan Evans, Jacob Billings, Olivia Fuson, Skylar Fuson, and Victoria Billings. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Eva Hendrixson Hill

90 year old Eva Hendrixson Hill of Smithville died Tuesday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a Baptist and retired from the Smithville Shirt Factory. The funeral will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home with Dwayne Cornelius and Richard Felts officiating. Burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.; Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.; and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 1:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Mai Hendrixson; step mother, Clara Hendrixson Randalls; a son, Donald Hill; and three brothers, Paul, Vernon, and Roy Hendrixson. She is survived by three children, Polly Hill, Faye Hill Hendrix, and Wayne and his wife Vivian Hill all of Smithville. Seven grandchildren, Debbie Hendrix, Dava and husband Russell Pedigo, Craig Hill, Terra and husband Tad Turner, Kyle Hill, and Tiffany Hendrixson all of Smithville, and Dustin and wife Tanetta Hendrix of Sparta. Nine great grandchildren, daugher-in-law, Brenda Hill Stewart and husband Danny. Sister-in-law, Grace Hendrixson of Dickson. Two sisters, Joyce and husband Jerry Spurlock and Barbara Arnold all of Smithville. One step-sister, Ruth and husband Jack Chidester of Davidson County. 87 year old Mandy Edna Vaughn of Smithville died Tuesday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a member of the Church of God and a retired inspector of the shirt factory. The funeral will be Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Virgil Hibdon, Jr. will officiate and burial will be in Whorton Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from noon until 9:00 p.m. and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 1:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her husband, Austin Vaughn; parents, Toy and Trudie Pedigo; a daughter, Lois Clemmons; three sisters, Bill Cantrell, Evelyene Sandlin, and Myrtle Stanley; and five brothers, James, Elmo, Leo, Cordell, and Floyce Pedigo. Survivors include four daughters, Judy Anderson, Jackie and husband Michael Jones, Patricia and husband Bobby McCormick, and Peggy and husband Kenneth Cantrell all of Smithville. Six grandchildren, Eddie and Lisa Anderson, Kevin and Deana Jones, Mandy Mooneyham, Jason Jones, and Jonathan McCormick all of Smithville and Hillary and Mark Gould of South Carolina. Geneva Hale Davis

87 year old Geneva Hale Davis of Watertown died Monday at University Medical Center. She was born in Birmingham, Alabama, daughter of the late William Thomas and Ethel Ray Arnold. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Clarence Edward Hale and Burley Davis; daughters, Joyce Hill and Judy Hasan-Gammons; grandson, Brian Mchaffa; sister, Ruby Beatrice Cantrell and brother, Clifford Arnold. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Hunter Funeral Home in Watertown. Billy Hale and Roger Grisham will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.. Survivors include daughters, Cathy and husband James Roy Baker of Gallatin and Brenda and husband Michael Gay of Elmwood. A son, Tommy and wife Ella Rhea Hale of Watertown. Grandchildren, Misty and husband Joe Dangerfield, Crystal and husband Bart Howell, Scott and Curt Baker, Jeremy and wife Ashley Mahaffa, Matthew Hasan-Gammons, Billy Joe Arnold, Sr., Gregory Lynn Arnold, and Brenda Robinson. Eighteen great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren. A son-in-law, Sam Gammons of Watertown. Brothers, Freddie Ray and wife Faye Arnold of Morrison and Harvey Vernon and wife Janiz Arnold of Thomasville, Georgia. Nieces and nephews also survive. 91 year old Violet Marie Fuson of Smithville died Friday night at her residence. She was a retired Director of Pharmacy at St. Thomas Hospital where she served for 30 years. She was also active with the American Cancer Society, United Methodist Women, and the Eastern Star. The funeral will be Monday at 4:00 p.m. at the Jacobs Pillar United Methodist Church, where she was a member. Royce Martin will officiate. Burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday from noon until 8:00 p.m. at Love-Cantrell Funeral Home and Monday from noon until the time of the service at 4:00 p.m. at the Jacobs Pillar United Methodist Church. Fuson was preceded in death by her parents, Luther Leonidas and Allie Pearl Redmon Fuson. Two sisters, Peggy Fuson Palmer and Eulalia Annebell Fuson Cobb Vaughn. Survivors include seven nephews, Carlee Conway Cobb of Redwood City, California; Luther Fuson Cobb of Arcata, California; Lewis Latane Cobb of Jackson, Tennessee; James Edward Cobb of Salt Lake City, Utah; David Redmon Cobb of Indianapolis, Indiana; John Winston Cobb of Knoxville, and John Anderson Palmer III of Gainesville, Florida. One niece, Janna Marie Palmer Reid of Santa Clara, California. Ninteen great nieces and nephews and three great great nieces and nephews survive.
