Sutton

84 year old Rose Sutton of Baxter died Thursday at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was a homemaker and a member of the Sycamore Church of Christ. The funeral will be Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Johnny Fox will officiate and burial will be in the Smellage cemetery in Putnam County. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Tommie and Herb Campbell, Janice and Dewey Bowman all of Cookeville. One son and daughter-in-law, Eddie Ray and Peggy Sutton of Smithville. Two sisters, Helen Herren of Baxter, Geneva Haller of Silver Point. Two brothers, Nelson Bradford of Hagerstown, Maryland and Bob Bradford of Jacksonville, Florida. Eleven grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. The Baxter Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Allen

61 year old Madonna Allen of Alexandria died Wednesday night at University Medical Center in Lebanon. The body is at Avant Funeral Home in Alexandria where the family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at the Upper Helton Baptist Church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Thurman Seber will officiate and burial will be in the Hillview Memorial cemetery in Alexandria. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Omrie Allen of Alexandria. A daughter and son-in-law, Roenia and David Turner of Alexandria. A son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Kyshanna Allen of Alexandria. Three grandchildren, Lindsay Kay Turner, Andrew Corley Allen, and Daxton Lee Allen. Two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack and Dorothy Corley of Lebanon and Hugh and Beulah Corley of Jackson, Mississippi. Avant Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Arnold

82 year old Gracie L. Arnold of Smithville died Sunday at DeKalb Hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of the New Home Missionary Baptist Church. The funeral will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Virgil Hibdon, Jr. will officiate and burial will be in the Mount Holly Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gus and Minnie Bell Johnson Braswell; her husband, Roy Lee Arnold; brothers, Shelia, Bob, Flemon, and Shelton Braswell; sisters, Vera Turner, Velma Arnold, Mattie George, Ruby Hibdon, Taft Bryan, and Eva Pittman. She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Sue Arnold and Clovis Arnold and one daughter, Imogene Arnold all of Smithville. One granddaughter and her husband Rhonda and Tim Young of Smithville. Nieces and nephews also survive. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Turner

79 year old Geneva Turner of Smithville died Monday at her residence of an extended illness. She was a housewife, homemaker, and a member of the Mount Hope The Baptist Church. The funeral will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Gary McBride and Greg Hibdon will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Nora Webb; her husband, Jewel Brown Turner; and a son, Donnie Turner. She is survived by her children, Patsy and husband Jerry McGuire; Peggy and husband Lewis Cantrell, Rickie and wife Tammy Turner, and Terry and wife Treva Turner. Seven grandchildren, Michelle Jones, Angela Neal, Reece Cantrell, Scott Turner, Shane Turner, Tad Turner, and Tia Young. Fifteen great grandchildren. A brother, Felix Webb of Smithville. Two sisters, Frances Rigsby of Rock Island and Jo Grace Lowry of Smithville. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m.

Vaughn

66 year old Ben Vaughn of McMinnville died Sunday at River Park Hospital in McMinnville. He was a DeKalb County native, a U.S. Army Veteran, member of the Noon Rotary Club, and owner of Ben Vaughn Insurance and Financial Services. He attended the Newtown The Baptist Church. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of McMinnville Funeral Home. Greg Hibdon and Lynn Anderson will officiate and burial will be in the Bethlehem Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cephas and Ida Turner Vaughn; first wife, Jimmie Sue Vaughn and a brother, Paul Vaughn. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Moore Vaughn of McMinnville. A son, Drew Vaughn of Duluth, Georgia. A sister, Marie Roberts of McMinnville. Grandchildren, Natalie and Weston Vaughn. Nieces, Cathy Walker and Leigh Ann Freeze. Great nieces, Lindsey Walker and Brittani Freeze. The Vaughn Family will receive friends Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until the time of the service. McMinnville Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, or to your favorite charity.

Walden

79 year old J.B. Walden of Alexandria died Saturday at the Skyline Medical Center in Nashville. He was a native of Statesville and a U.S. Navy World War II veteran. He was also a retired employee of TRW Ross Gear. The funeral will be Monday at 2:00 p.m. at the Alexandria First Baptist Church where he was a member. Curt Wagoner and James Hale will officiate and burial will be in the Hillview Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernice Walden and Gertrude Hayes Walden. He is survived by his wife, Lera Vanatta Walden of Alexandria. A son, Spencer and his wife Karen Walden of Dowelltown. A step-son, Randy and his wife Kathy Slager of Alexandria. Three grandchildren, Lacy and her husband Brent Arnold of Smithville and Ryan and Jessica Walden of Dowelltown. Two step-grandchildren, Stephanie and her husband Joe Peek and Wesley Slager all of Cookeville. Two great grandchildren, Cowan Arnold and Gracie Peek. Special friend, Jimmy Turner. Bandy

73 year old Georgia Frances Bandy of Smithville died Saturday at DeKalb Hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of the Mount Pisgah Freewill Baptist Church. The funeral will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will be in Whorton Springs Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roscoe and Agnes Buckner Pedigo; one daughter, Ann Hall; one son, Robert Lee Bandy; and three brothers, Norveillo, Edward, and Aaron Pedigo. She is survived by her husband, Hebron Bandy. Four sons and daughters-in-law, Danny and Jean Bandy of Smithville, Jackie and Bridgett Bandy of McMinnville, Carl and Jackie Bandy of Silver Point, and Jeff and Angie Bandy of McMinnville. One daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Steve Jones of Georgia. Nineteen grandchildren, twenty eight great grandchildren, and eleven great great grandchildren survive along with five sisters, Odell Summers of Smithville, KenZada Summers of Liberty, Lorene Chasteen of Winchester, Reba Judkins of Smithville, and Marie Luna of Texas. One brother, Elvis Pedigo of Alexandria. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m.

Hawkins

76 year old Grady Jewell Hawkins of Smithville died Thursday at Generations of Spencer. He was a self-employed carpenter and a Baptist. The funeral will be Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. David England and Mike Rigsby will officiate and burial will be in the Banks Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee and Roxy Ann Snyder Hawkins; his wife, Nettie Mai Ferrell Hawkins; and three brothers, Shelton, Helton, and William Haskel Hawkins. He is survived by two daughters, Zanda Lawson of McMinnville and Linda Cumbry of Cookeville. Two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ricky and Deborah Hawkins of McMinnville and Randy Hawkins of Smithville. Eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Friday beginning at 11:00 a.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m.

Carter

93 year old Hattie Jo Carter of Smithville died Wednesday night at Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Murfreesboro. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Jovonne Carter House Harris Vanatta and Aubrey Vanatta of Smithville. Two grandchildren, Roddey Joe House of Brentwood and Tondalea House Wright of Whitehouse. A great grandson, Thomas Richard Wright of Whitehouse. Family and friends will assemble at the Baird Memorial cemetery in Hickman on Monday at 3:00 p.m. for a graveside service. Billy Craighead will officiate. The family requests memorials be made to Hospice of Murfreesboro, 726 South Church Street, Murfreesboro, 37130. The Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Robinson

96 year old Gladys Bell Dedman Robinson of Lancaster died Friday night at her residence. She was born in the Walker's Creek community. Her parents were the late Sally Foutch and Henry Dedman. Her husband, Johnnie Denton Robinson, also preceded her in death along with two children, Howard Edward Robinson and Sally Robinson Judkins. She was a homemaker and a member of the Malone's Chapel Baptist Church. The body is at the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Home where the funeral will be Monday at 3:00 p.m. Dewey Dyer will officiate and burial will be in the Gordonsville Cemetery. She is survived by seven grandchildren, Sylvia L Austin and her husband Ray of Lancaster, Barbara J. Johnson and her husband Don of Carthage; Sonja J. Hullett of Lavergne; Timothy K. Judkins and his wife Diane of Nashville; Gregory D. Judkins and his wife Clarissa of Memphis; Cynthia Cook of Smithville; and Judy Baker of Birmingham, Alabama. Caregiver, Ginger Dixon. The family will receive friends at the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Home Sunday from noon until 6:00 p.m. and Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 3:00 p.m.
