Jo Ann Hughes Nichols
73 year old Jo Ann Hughes Nichols died Saturday at Woodbury Health Care.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years: W.R. Nichols of Woodbury; Daughters: Arlene Wilson (Dewey Barrett) of Woodbury and Julie Fitts (David Speakman) of Smithville; Grandchildren: Jennifer (Joshua) Keomanivong, Andrea Davenport, Dana Davenport, Derrick Fitts, Jeffery “Bubba” Nichols and Dustin Nichols; Great Grandchildren: Kelvin & Jocelyn Keomanivong, Braxton Carter, Karlee Gladden and Natalie Nichols; Brothers-in-law, Thomas Earl Nichols & Roy Nichols; Siblings: Innette Gunter of Murfreesboro, J.B. (Ardana) Hughes of Warren Co. and J.C. (Joan) Hughes of Auburntown; Nieces and Nephews, Cindy Garrison, Jennifer Brown, Ruth Ann Watts, Cody Hughes, Lanny & Lyndsey Gunter; also surviving are many friends. Many cousins, nieces, nephews, and very many friends also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Clyde & Anna Belle Bogle Hughes and son, Jeffery William Nichols; sister-in-law, Ruth Harmon Nichols; Brother-in-law, William "Bill" Gunter.
Jo Ann loved spending time with her family, cooking, camping and fishing. Before she retired, she worked for Dekalb Telephone where she cleaned offices. She was a member of the Woodbury First Baptist.
Funeral Services will be 2 pm Saturday in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Van Nichols & Bro. Bobby Nichols officiating. Interment will follow in the Reed Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 1 pm to 9 pm Friday, March 06, 2015.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Woodbury Funeral Home to help the family with funeral expenses.

Capitola Hensley
55 year old Capitola Hensley of Smithville died Monday at DeKalb Community Hospital. He was a press operator at Federal Mogul. The funeral will be Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. David Frazier will officiate and burial will be in Highland cemetery in Sparta. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 1:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Zollie Ray Hensley and Fannie Jewell Terry; one sister, Lizzie Martin; and two brothers, Charlie and Ray Hensley, Jr. Survivors include two sisters, Carolyn Young of Cookeville and Barbara Griffin of Florida. Seven brothers, Tommy Hensley of Sparta, Johnny Hensley of North Carolina, Henry Hensley of Smithville, Gaines Hensley of Florida, Jerry Hensley of Manchester, David Hensley of Crossville, and Danny Hensley of Smithville. Evelyn Frances Curtis
84 year old Evelyn Frances Curtis of Alexandria died Friday at the Summit Medical Center. She was a homemaker and a DeKalb County native. The funeral will be Monday at 1:00 p.m. at the New Hope Baptist Church, where she was a member. Ronnie Smith and Tommy Curtis will officiate and burial will be in the New Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Monday from 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. There will be no visitation on Sunday due to Easter. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Willie Malone Kitchings; her husband of 66 years Paul Curtis; and a brother, Charles B. Kitchings. Survivors include two daughters, Faye and her husband William Wooldridge of Lebanon and Kaye Hearn of Mount Juliet. Five grandchildren, Rick and his wife Christy Robinson of Murfreesboro, Mitch Robinson of Lebanon, Angie and her husband Alan Elkins, Anita and her husband Chip Jackson, and Kim and her husband Scott Lattimore all of Mount Juliet. Six great grandchildren. A niece, Lyna Rorie of Watertown and a brother-in-law, Reverend Tommy and his wife Virginia Curtis of Smithville. Two step-grandchildren, Chip and his wife Carol Hearn and Trevor Hearn all of Mount Juliet Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria is in charge of the arrangements. 82 year old Rita Spencer Martinelli of Manchester died Saturday at the Manchester Health Care Center. She was a homemaker and a member of the Indian Creek Baptist Church. A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Whorton Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from noon until 1:40 p.m. at Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. She was preceded in death by her parents, David J. and Etta Atnip Spencer; her husband Charles Martinelli; two brothers, George B. and Truitt Spencer; four sisters, Inez and Louise Spencer, Vera Lewis, and Clydia Crowley. J. Lee Hendrixson
81 year old J. Lee Hendrixson of Liberty died Friday at his residence. He was a retired machinist at Powermatic and he worked at the Highway 56 garbage collection center for 12 years. Hendrixson was also a Mason and a member of the DeKalb Lodge #358. He was a member of the Dale Ridge Baptist Church. The funeral will be Monday at 1:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Michael Hale and Mike Gay will officiate and burial will be in Whorton Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Dewey and Georgia Athelene Spencer Hendrixson and a brother, G.D. 50 year old Brenda Colwell of Smithville died Tuesday at Baptist Hospital in Nashville. She was a member of the Lower Helton The Baptist Church and an employee of Nissan. The funeral will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Barry Whiteaker and Frank Randolph will officiate. Edgar V. Early
88 year old Edgar V. Early of Troy, Texas died Tuesday. The funeral will be held Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home Chapel in Temple, Texas. Burial will follow at Robert’s cemetery in Troy. Early served in the National Guard at Temple for several years and served in the Army during World War II, from 1943-1945, earning a bronze star and other numerous medals. Early married

81 year old Emogene Washer Niceley, a resident of Elizabethtown, Kentucky and a native of DeKalb County, died Tuesday at her residence. She was a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church for 43 years. She was an artist, a member of the Central Kentucky Art Guild, a member of the Elizabethtown Homemakers Club, and a Sales Consultant for Elizabethtown Florist for many years. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Hood and Velma Pedigo Parsley; her first husband, Jesse Millard Washer; her second husband, Gil Niceley; and a brother, Warren B. Parsley. Survivors include three sons, Dennis and his wife Debbie Washer of Smithville, Don and his wife Barbara Washer, an Gary Washer of Elizabethtown, Kentucky. A sister, Mary Lou Wade of Ruffsdale, Pennsylvania. A brother, Paul and his wife Mary Parsley of Smithville. Six grandchildren, Joy Washer, Mallory and his wife Drew Barkley, John and his wife Charlise Washer, Caleb and his wife Mikki Bland, Lindsey Bland, and Meredith Bland.
