Cantrell

83 year old Dorothy May Cantrell of Smithville died Friday at DeKalb Hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of the Phillipi Church of Christ. The funeral will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Bonham Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dave and Minnie Williams Fuson. She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Zane and Dianna Cantrell of Murfreesboro and Virginia and David Cantrell of Michigan. Two grandsons, Tony Cantrell of Michigan and Greg Cantrell of Murfreesboro. Two granddaughters, Sonya King of Murfreesboro and Cindy Cantrell of Michigan. Four great grandchildren also survive along with a sister, Hazel Butts of Michigan. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Saturday until 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m.

Tallent

39 year old Lynn Tallent of Smithville died Tuesday in a DeKalb County automobile accident. He was a self-employed truck driver and a Baptist. The funeral will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will be in DeKalb Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Teresa Bain Tallent; one son, Brandon Lynn Tallent; his parents, Leonard and Joyce Tallent; two brothers, Marty and Ronald Tallent; grandparents, Melvin and Cecil Billings; and a niece, Martelia Tallent all of Smithville. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m.

Vandergriff

87 year old Ms. Johnnie R. Vandergriff of Dowelltown died Wednesday morning at her residence of an extended illness. She was a retired factory worker and a member of the Dowelltown Baptist Church. The funeral will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Neal Foster will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Rhoda Hill; two brothers, Roy and Joe B. Hill; and three sisters, Gladys Tramel, Athalene Nokes, and Louise Gibbs. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Burnace and Barbara Vandergriff of Smithville. One daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and Cantrell Jones of Smithville. One sister, Polly Buck of Dowelltown. Seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.; Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.; and Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m.

Ritchey

82 year old Dollie Keaton Ritchey of Oak Grove Community in Warren County died Sunday at DeKalb Hospital. She was a Warren County native, a retired automotive worker with the Cadillac Division at General Motors, and she attended the Providence Baptist Church. The funeral will be Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at the Chapel of McMinnville Funeral Home. Jim Tollison will officiate and burial will be in the Woods cemetery in Warren County. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Fred Ritchey; her parents, Walter and Lula Mae Davenport Keaton; sisters, Willie Pedigo, Elizabeth Huskisson, and Christine Hughes; and brothers, Earl, Guy, Edwin, and Henry B. Keaton. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Roger Steurer of Smithville. Two sons and daughters-in-law, Frederick Gerald and Wanda Ritchey of Belleville, Michigan and Charles N. and Janice Ritchey of the Oak Grove Community. A sister, Dorothy Jo Adams of Erin, Tennessee. A sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Ozle Allen of McMinnville. Ten grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews survive. The Ritchey family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.; and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until the time of the service. McMinnville Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Lafever

59 year old Doyle Lafever of Baxter died Saturday at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born in Putnam County to the late Lillard L. and Della Fisher Lafever. He was a Navy veteran and member of the Powell, Tennessee Masonic Lodge #582. He was also a Quality Inspector with several nuclear plants in the Southeast Region. The funeral will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Russell Flatt and Jim Holifield will officiate and burial will be in the Palmer cemetery at Silver Point with military honors conducted by the Veterans Honor Guard. A Masonic Service will be held Monday at 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Arah Nell Lafever and four brothers, James Lee, Ray Donald, Harold Dean, and Herbert H. Lafever. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Una Gentry Lafever of Baxter. Two sons and a daughter-in-law, Christopher Doyle Lafever of Baxter and James Lee and Cathy Jo Lafever of Spartanburg, South Carolina. One brother, Howard Jack Lafever of California. Two granddaughters, Taylor N. and Hannah L. Lafever. Two grandsons, Colin Lee and Hayden James Lafever. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.; Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Vaughn

81 year Beecher L. Vaughn of McMinnville died Friday at River Park Hospital. He was a DeKalb County native, a U.S. Marine veteran of World War II, a retired carpenter, cabinet maker, and a member of the Christ United Methodist Church. He was also a Past Master of the Warren Masonic Lodge #125 and the Order of the Eastern Star. The funeral will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the Chapel of McMinnville Funeral Home. Robert H. Case will officiate and burial will be in the Gardens of Memory. Military Grave Rites will be conducted by the VFW Post 5064 and the American Legion Post 173. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elijah and Effie Arlanta Cope Vaughn; his wife, Dorothy Jean Vaughn; and a daughter, Alice Bond. He is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Jeanne Smith of Nashville, Neva and Bill Boyd of Smartt, Tennessee and Lynn and Jay Bragg of McMinnville. A sister, Louise Hendrixson of Smithville. A brother and sister-in-law, Jewell Ray and Nancy Vaughn of McMinnville. Twelve grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. The Vaughn family will receive friends on Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Sunday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service at McMinnville Funeral Home. Pascal

27 year old Cheryl Ann Pascal of Smithville died Saturday at her residence. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. The funeral will be Monday at 3:30 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Bill and Helen Golden; paternal grandfather, J.T. Pascal; step-grandmother, Alma Love; step-grandfather, William Chapman and uncle, Kenneth Golden. She is survived by her mother and step-father, Anita and Claude Chapman of Woodbury. Her father, Tommy Pascal of Smithville. One brother, T.J. Pascal of Smithville. Step-brother, Jason Chapman of Dowelltown. Fiance, Tony Charley of Smithville. Paternal grandmother and step-grandfather, Jean and Steve Daniels of Georgia. Paternal step-grandmother, Josephine Pascal of Smithville. Step grandmother, Bonnie Chapman of Alexandria and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Driver

66 year old Grady Lee Driver of Sparta died Saturday at his residence. He was retired from the Ford Motor Company, member of the House of Prayer, and a minister for many years. The funeral will be Monday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home and burial will be in the Highland cemetery in Sparta. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Driver; his parents, Lonnie Wade and Hattie Lou Pinegar Driver; and three brothers, Herman, Louis, and James Driver. He is survived by a daughter, Tammy Brasel of Sparta. One son and daughter-in-law, Grady Alan and Melissa Driver of Louisa, Kentucky. Six grandchildren, Crystal and Kevin Wayne Driver of Kentucky, Keith Alan Driver of Korea, Steven Lee Driver of Montana, Sara J. and Tiffany Brasel both of Sparta. Two great grandchildren, Caleb Gussler and Brianna Fraley both of Kentucky. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Sorrell

74 year old Rosella Mildred Sorrell of Gum Spring Mountain Road died Friday at the Life Care Center in Sparta. The funeral will be Monday at 10:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Thurman Funeral Home in Sparta. Burial will be in the Saylors Cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Orville Barham Sorrell, Jr. of Sparta. Two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Kellie Sorrell of Sparta and Barney and Linda Sorrell of Smithville. Seven grandchildren, T.J. and Matthew Sorrell of Smithville, Steven and Karissa Sorrell of Nashville, Amy and Chris Jared of Walling, Stephanie and Joey Prater of Walling, and Shane Sorrell and David Sorrell both of Sparta. Four great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews survive along with two brothers, Sidney Williams and his wife Opal and Charles Williams all of Sparta. A sister, Jo Ann Peek of Flint, Michigan. Thurman Funeral Home in Sparta is in charge of the arrangements. The family will receive friends Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
