Caidyn Michael Brawner

Caidyn Michael Brawner, the two month old infant of Jason Randall Melin and Amy Elizabeth Brawner of Hermitage, died Thursday at his residence. A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at the Walter Hill Baptist Church. Michael Hale will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 7:00 p.m. In addition to his parents, the child is survived by a brother, Matthew Daniel Stripling of Hermitage. A sister, Cierra Skye Witty of Cannon County. Grandparents, Terri and Dale Witty of Cannon County, Claude Brawner, Jr. of Lebanon, and Troy and Cindy Melin of Mount Juliet. Great grandparents, Lloyd and Judy Melin of Mount Juliet, Elsie Ethridge of Madison, Claude Brawner, Sr. of Lebanon, Charles and Sue Parham of Murfreesboro, and Judy and Robin Pitts of Murfreesboro. An aunt, Melinda Melin of Hermitage and and uncle, Matt Parham of Murfreesboro. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Sidney Thomas Linder

84 year old Sidney Thomas Linder of Smithville died Thursday at his residence. He was affiliated with the South Side Baptist Church of Lebanon and Pomeroy Chapel of Smithville. The funeral will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Gregory Moser will officiate and burial will be in Adcock Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Saturday until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Malissia Linder; three brothers, Classie, George, and Seber Linder; three sisters, Mary Lou Linder, Mrs. Paul Martin, and Ada Boyd; a half-sister, Gracie Evans and seven nieces and nephews. Survivors include a sister, Martha Jane Kelley of Lebanon. Thirty seven nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews survive along with caregiver Kristen Blair. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

John B. Colwell

66 year old John B. Colwell of Sparta died Saturday, February 16th at NHC of Sparta. A Graveside service will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Adcock cemetery in DeKalb County. He is survived by a sister, Martha Moore of Sparta. Five brothers, Eugene Colwell of Smithville, Lillard Colwell of McMinnville, Willard Colwell of Smithville, Daniel Colwell of Morrison, and Johnny Colwell of Sparta. Hunter Funeral Home in Sparta is in charge of the arrangements.

Tommie Jean Campbell

68 year old Tommie Jean Campbell of Baxter died Wedneday at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. The funeral will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Sycamore Church of Christ at Cookeville. Burial will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home and Saturday from noon until 2:00 p.m. at the church. She is survived by her husband, Herb Campbell of Baxter. A daughter, Rosemary Johnson of Cookeville. A son, Chad Campbell of Cookeville. A sister, Janice Bowman of Cookeville. A brother, Eddie Ray Sutton of Smithville. The Baxter Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Russian Orphan Fund at the Sycamore Church of Christ or to the Vanderbilt Cancer Center.

Larry League, Jr.

32 year old Larry League, Jr. of Silver Point died Thursday night at DeKalb Community Hospital. He was a heavy equipment operator and a member of the Northside Church of Christ. The funeral will be Sunday at 5:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Virgil Carr, Jr. and Byrnes Lyons will officiate and burial will be in the Silver Point Church of Christ Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 5:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Larry League, Sr. and Judy League; his maternal grandparents, Claudie and Bonnie League and his paternal grandfather, Donald League. He is survived by two daughters, Tiffani League of Cookeville and Nakita League of Sparta. Two sons, Lance Clark League of Gallatin and D'Andre League of McMinnville. A sister, Loretta and her husband William Clemmons of Georgia. His paternal grandmother, Jeanette League of Smithville. Two nieces, Victoria and Bria Clemmons of Georgia. Three aunts, Claudine and her husband Fred Searcy of Smithville, Gweynda League of Smithville, and Gennelle League of Smithville. One uncle, Don League of Silver Point. A great aunt, Mary and her husband Virgil Carr of Nashville. Special friend, Dusty Gunter of Silver Point and a host of cousins and friends. Charles Clifton Robinson

86 year old Charles Clifton Robinson of Smithville died Thursday at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga. He was a retired factory worker and a farmer. Robinson was also a Mason, a member of Liberty Lodge #77. He served in the United States Army from December 26th, 1942 to December 20th, 1945. He was a technician, fifth grade, and served with the 3808th Quartermasters Truck Company. Robinson was in combat in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland, and Central Europe. He was awarded the American Theater Ribbon, the European Theater Ribbon with five bronze stars, the Good Conduct Metal, and the World War II Victory Medal. The funeral will be Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bill Robertson will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 3:00 p.m. A Masonic Service will be Saturday at 7:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton and Ethel Hullett Robinson; a brother, Edward Robinson; and three sisters, Calysta Pedigo, Delia Foutch, and Lois Williams. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Jacqueline Evans Robinson. Seven children, Wayne and his wife Gloria Robinson, Wanda and her husband Gary Russell, Joyce and her husband Tommy Alexander, Debra Robinson and special friend Hilton Conger, Jackie and her husband Tommy Stockling, David and his wife Linda Robinson all of Smithville, and Terry and his wife Sara Robinson of Cookeville. Thirteen grandchildren, Andy and his wife Chrissy Prichard, Mark Prichard, Nick and his wife Stacey Robinson, Chris and his wife Tonya Robinson, Rob Alexander, David Alexander, Amy and her husband Tim Tobitt, Tyler Robinson, Chip Robinson, Heath Robinson, Cody Robinson, Emily Robinson, and Macey Robinson. Two step-grandchildren, Kristi Russell and Amy Gosnell both of Kansas City, Missouri. Eight great grandchildren, Isaac, Keirstine, Kaden, Hunter, and Chloe Robinson, and Evan Prichard, Caroline, and Madelyn Tobitt. Two brothers, Brisco and his wife Helen Robinson of Cookeville and Carl and his wife Jo Robinson of Morrison. Three sisters, Omega Hayes, Mary and her husband Paul Parsley, and Jo and her husband Jesse Baker all of Smithville. A brother-in-law, James Foutch. A sister-in-law, Marie Robinson. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. The family asks that donations be made, in lieu of flowers, to the Elizabeth Chapel Building Fund, Katherine Conger Memorial Scholarship Fund, Lighthouse Christian Camp, or a book to the local schools or public libraries.

Cordell Carson Evans

74 year old Cordell Carson Evans of Smithville died Friday morning at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville. He was a member of New Bildad Primitive Baptist Church and was retired after 35 years of service from TRW. The funeral will be Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Ricky Arnold and Kenneth Clayton will officiate and burial will be in the New Bildad Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 3:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hershell and Nancy Bond Evans, Sr.; brothers, Jack, Donald, and Hershall Evans, Jr.; sisters, Nina May Evans, Dorothy Turner, and Lerlen Nelson. Survivors include his wife, Thelma Young Evans of Smithville. Children, Deborah and her husband Brian Lehan of Madison and Dell Evans and Ricky and his wife Sherry Evans all of Smithville. Grandchildren, Renee and her husband Jason Walker of Smithville, Sarah and her husband Kenny Harris of Lebanon and Stephanie Barber and Ashley Evans both of Smithville, David Evans of Carthage, and Amber, Ryan, Ethan, and Tristen Evans all of Smithville. Eight great grandchildren also survive along with a brother, Milburn and his wife Lorene Evans of Smithville. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Jim Moore, Jr.

81 year old Jim Moore, Jr of Woodbury died Tuesday of an extended illness. He was born in Smithville. He was also a Baptist, a U.S. Army veteran having served in Korea, and he was a sewing machine mechanic at the Vanderbilt Shirt Manufacturing Company for 26 years. The funeral will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home. Frank Blair will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Riley and Ollie Gertrude Pack Moore and a daughter, Starreta. Survivors include his wife, Sara Ford Moore of Woodbury. A son, Paul and his wife Jean Parker of Readyville. A brother, Kenneth Moore of Smithville. A sister, Myrtis Winton of Smithville. Grandchildren, Kevin and his wife Michelle Parker of LaVergne and Leandra and John Habel of Unionville. One great grandchild, Emma Habel of Unionville. Christie Darlene Bouldin Bennett

47 year old Christie Darlene Bouldin Bennett of Dowelltown died suddenly Sunday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of the Mount Herman Baptist Church. A graveside service will be Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the New Bybee's Chapel cemetery in Warren County. David Carden will officiate. The body is at High Funeral Home in McMinnville. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 1:15 p.m. She was preceded in death by her father, Clyde Bouldin and a brother, Jodie Crick. Survivors include her husband, Vernon Bennett of Dowelltown. Two sons, Charles William Boles of Winchester and Michael Lloyd Boles of McMinnville. A step-son, Christopher Vernon Pasarew of Austin, Texas. A step-daughter, Kelsye Blair Reynes of Dallas Texas. Grandchildren, Wesley Coppinger, Sam Boles, and Alyssa Boles. Her mother, Ann Bouldin of Rock Island. Sisters, Debbie Hayes of Fairview Heights, Illinois and Judy Martin of Rock Island. Brothers, Gary Wayne Bouldin of Carthage and Michael Allen Bouldin of McMinnville. High Funeral Home in McMinnville is in charge of the arrangements.
