Thelma D. Kelley

87 year old Thelma D. Kelley of Alexandria died Sunday. She was born in Wilson County and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Alexandria. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Kenneth Tramel and Kirk Wagoner will officiate and burial will be in the Hillview Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the service. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thatis and Johnnie George Harden.; her husband, Ollie Lee "Tot" Kelley; brothers, Alton, J.W., and Vestal Harden; and sisters, Patty Ray Young and Bell Barnes. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Hilda and Jimmy Oakley of Liberty and Barbara and Ronnie Gibbs of Watertown. Grandchildren, Melissa Williams of Lebanon, Susan and husband Chuck Gann of Dowelltown, Ginger and husband Bill Ash of Watertown, and Clark and wife Lisa Oakley of Liberty. Great grandchildren, Rachel and husband Steven Ballard, Ryan Williams, Nolan Ash, Evan Ash, Whitney Gann, McKenzie Gann, Cason Oakley, and Addison Oakley. Great great grandchild, Landon Ballard. A sister, Lois Stedman of Madison. Brother-in-law, Lawrence Barnes of Old Hickory. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria is in charge of the arrangement.

Clyde Austin LeFevre

80 year old Clyde Austin LeFevre died Thursday morning at his residence in Smithville. He was a member of the Temple Baptist Church in McMinnville, a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict, Commander of the Sons of Confederate Veterans Savage Goodner Camp 1513, and he was a Department Manager for 36 years with the Department of Social Services for the State of Michigan. The funeral will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Tom Fittis and Jim Tollison will officiate and burial will be in Mount Holly cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be Friday from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 2:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Lee and Maureen Austin LeFevre. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Carol Ann LeFevre of Smithville. Children, Craig and his wife Margaret LeFevre of Cookeville, Zachary and his wife Verity LaFevre of Novi Pazaar, Bulgaria, William and his wife Hannah LeFevre of Bristol, and Amanda and her husband Greg McFadden of Westland, Michigan. Seven grandchildren, Katherine Jane, Marcy Ann, Isaac Austin, Margaret Lee LeFevre, Eli Shuster, Molly Cate, and Eli Austin McFadden. The family requests that donations be made to the Charity Baptist Mission or to the Temple Baptist Church Building Fund in McMinnville, in lieu of flowers.

Helen Foutch Malone

64 year old Helen Foutch Malone of Smithville died Wednesday at her residence. She was a member of the Webb's Chapel United Methodist Church. She was also a long-time banker and a former grocery store owner. The funeral will be Friday at 3:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the service at 3:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Irene Foutch. She is survived by a daughter, Nancy and husband Roger Waynick of Brentwood. A son, Richard Malone of Dallas, Texas. Grandchildren, Elizabeth, Will, Roger Jr., and Katie Waynick of Brentwood, and Henry Malone of Dallas, Texas. A sister, Harriett and husband Wayne Cantrell of Smithville. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. The family requests that donations be made to the Webb Chapel United Methodist Church or to the Alzheimer's Association, in lieu of flowers.

Joe Harold Caldwell

71 year old Joe Harold Caldwell of Smithville died Thursday at his residence. He was a farmer and a member of the Freewill Baptist Church. The funeral will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bernard Houk and David Young will officiate and burial will be in Whorton Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Clyde Caldwell and Vera Summers Caldwell Cashion; a son, Ricky Caldwell; a daughter, Sharon Caldwell; four brothers, Eldridge, Cordell, Jerry, and Wayne Caldwell; and two sisters, Frances Murphy and Eva Lois Caldwell. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Shirley Matthews Caldwell of Smithville. Three daughters, Rhonda and her husband Glynn Merriman of Smithville, Angela Cantrell of Nashville, and Joanna and Joseph Call of Smithville. Two sons, Rex Caldwell of Beth Page and Randall and his wife Jerrie Marie Caldwell of Smithville. Twelve grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and two sisters, Margaret Ann Cantrell of Smithville and Katie Ruth Shook of Mount Juliet. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

51 year old Tommy Pugh of Gassaway died Sunday at his residence. He was disabled and a member of the Sycamore Baptist Church. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Wilson Williams will officiate and burial will be in the Sycamore Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. He is survived by two sons, Hunter Pugh and Benjamin Pugh of Gassaway. His parents, Jack D. and Ruth Pugh of Gassaway. Two sisters, Jackie and husband Tim Cantrell of Smithville and Lori and husband Chris Hall of North Carolina. Special friend, Martha Jane Partridge of Lebanon. Four nieces, Stephanie Kirby, Abby Cantrell, and Lydia and Alayna Hall. Two nephews, Caleb and Wesley Hall. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Tommy Pugh Memorial Fund from the class of 1977 to help with the football fieldhouse at DCHS. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Maggie Green Walker; and brothers, Chuck Walker and J.B. Walker. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, George Griffin of Smithville. A son, Daryl and his wife Denise Griffin of Smithville. A granddaughter, Sabrina Griffin of Smithville. Brothers, Jerry Walker of Smithville, Dwight Walker of Sparta, and Cordell Walker, Ronnie Walker, and Doug Walker all of Smithville. 34 year old Jackie Lee Snider of Smithville died Saturday at the emergency room of DeKalb Community Hospital. He was self-employed in the tree service business and a member of the Elizabeth Chapel Baptist Church. The funeral will be Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Shane Smith and Apryl Valentino will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 3:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by a brother, Steve Snider; his maternal grandparents, Ewin and Ada Hicks; and his paternal grandparents, Linel Snider. He is survived by three children, Steven Jayce Snider and Emily Snider both Smithville and Carlie Snider of Liberty. His mother, Doris Hullett of McMinnville. His father, Milton and wife Jeanne Snider of McMinnville. A sister, Apryl and husband Chris Valentino of North Carolina. A brother, Shane and wife Mandy Snider of McMinnville. Four step-brothers, Brad and wife Rachel Morris of Arkansas, Austin and Nicholas Morris of Hillsboro, and Lakota Luna of Smithville. Step-sister, Miranda and husband Ben Parson of Pelham; paternal grandmother, Willie Snider of McMinnville. Special friend, Aaron Hester of Manchester. Visitation will be Monday from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 1:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Magdalene Redmon Emberton; a sister, Betty Jo Williams; and a brother-in-law, Wayne Locke. Survivors include her husband, Tony Harris of Smithville. Two daughters, Kendra and husband Benjamin Foust of McMinnville and Kaley Harris of Smithville. One son, Nathan Harris of Smithville. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 1:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his father, Bernie Driver; and his wife, Helena Turner Driver. Survivors include his mother, Clara Sandlin Driver of Smithville. Two brothers, Donnie Driver of Smithville and Rodney and his wife Rose Driver of McMinnville. A nephew, Beau Driver of Alabama. 53 year old Connie Annette Kirby Henry of Smithville died Wednesday at Vanderbilt Medical Center. She was a teacher. The funeral will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the Smithville Church of Christ, where she was a member. Dan Gulley, Tim Woodward, and Elwin Mahan will officiate and burial will be in the Lower Cherry Creek cemetery in Sparta. Visitation will be Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel and Sunday from 1:15 p.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. at the church. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ida Ruth Hyder Kirby. Survivors include her husband, Larry Henry of Smithville. A daughter, Jennifer Annette Henry of Smithville. Her father, William Clinton Kirby of Sparta. A brother, Warren Kirby of Sparta. Sixteen nephews and ten nieces also survive.
