William "Billy" Northcutt, Jr.

44 year old William "Billy" Northcutt, Jr. of Smithville died Friday at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville. He was a Baptist and an employee of Walker Tenneco Automotive. The funeral will be Monday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Virgil Hibdon, Jr. will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 1:00 p.m. He is survived by his parents, William and Frances Northcutt, Sr. of Quebeck. A brother, Gene Arnold, Jr. of Texas. Three sisters, Connie Rowan of Ohio, Doreen Shepherd of Smithville, and Valerie Pugh of Old Hickory. Six nephews and four nieces also survive. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Elizabeth Frances Hendrixson

86 year old Elizabeth Frances Hendrixson of Smithville died Saturday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a homemaker and attended the First Assembly of God. The funeral will be Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Glenn Burks will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 3:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her husband, Schuyler Hendrixson; her parents, James and Willie Warren Redmon; a son, Joe Hendrixson; great granddaughter, Holly Michelle Lawrence; sisters, Cilla Mae Redmon and Magdalene Emberton; and a brother, Charlie Redmon. She is survived by two daughters, Mertie Lawrence and Doris and her husband Jerry Beshearse. Seven grandchildren, Tony and his wife Lori Lawrence, Anita and her husband Jimmy Patrick, Gary and his wife Rita Beshearse, Teresa and her husband Darrell Spencer, Terry and his wife Kristie Beshearse all of Smithville, Penny Hendrixson, and Joe and his wife Rhonda Hendrixson all of Lebanon. Six great grandchildren. One brother, R.L. and his wife Earlene Redmon and one sister, Louise Braswell all of Smithville. One daughter-in-law, Nadean Hendrixson of Mount Juliet. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Solon Lee Taylor

86 year old Solon Lee Taylor of Smithville died Saturday at DeKalb Community Hospital. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, a member of the Mount Herman Baptist Church, and he was retired from Val-Dor Shirt Factory in Smithville. The funeral will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Sam Odom and Michael Hale will officiate and burial will be in the Snow Hill Baptist Church cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.; Monday from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.; and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Mai Tramel Taylor; his parents, Martin and Novie Taylor; brothers, Albert and James Taylor; sisters, Carnell Keith and Elizabeth Young; a granddaughter, Deanna Taylor and a great granddaughter, Olivia Taylor. Survivors include three sons, Wayne and his wife Jean Taylor, Eddie and his wife Cynthia Taylor, and Jeff and his wife Brenda Taylor all of Smithville. Six grandchildren, Ken Taylor, Kelly Key, Kari Harris, Katrena Amason, Karen Pelham, and David Taylor. Ten great grandchildren, Shauna, Abbi, and Kenlee Taylor, Matthew and Andrew Key, Sam Harris, Taylor and Brinley Amason, and Bradley and Bryna Pelham. A brother, Doyle Taylor of Smithville. Three sisters, Jo and her husband Frank Parton of Smithville, Barbara and her husband James Fuson and Patty Trusty all of Nashville. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Morris Steven Allen

49 year old Morris Steven Allen of Liberty died Saturday at Gateway Medical Center. He was disabled and a member of the Pisgah United Methodist Church. A memorial service will be Wednesday at noon at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Shane Smith and Perry Clayton will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at noon. He is survived by his wife, Judith Goodwin Allen of Liberty. His parents, John and Geneva Allen of Lafayette. Six children, Shawn and his wife Tiffany Allen and their children Hannah and C.J. of Smithville; Jennifer and her husband Benito Castroena and their children MacKenzie, Drew, and Jaeleigh of Smithville; Sammy and his wife Sonja Allen and their children Kobe, Jarrica, Dante, Josh, Matthew, Elijah, Eliza, and Dakota of Coalmont; Kim Pack and children, Misty and her husband Kirk Wilson and Brian Pack of Smithville; Jeff and his wife Nikki Goodwin and children, Gunnison, Garrison, and Grace Ann of Nashville; Kathy and her husband Dewayne Jacobs and children Tavia and MaKayla Easterwood of Alabama. Four great grandchildren, Brittany Petty, Cody Pack, J.J. Pack, and Cameron Wilson. One brother, Edward Allen of Coalmont and special nephew, Aaron Ammons. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. The family asks that donations be made in lieu of flowers to the Gideons International for Bibles in memory of Steve.

Edna Barry Corley

83 year old Edna Barry Corley of Alexandria died Friday at the Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin. The funeral will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the Alexandria Church of Christ. Charlie West will officiate and burial will be in the Hillview Memorial cemetery in Alexandria. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until noon at Avant Funeral Home and at the Alexandria Church of Christ on Sunday from noon until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. She is survived by three children, Carol C. Christian of Gallatin, Kenneth Corley and his wife Vicki of Alexandria, and Cathy C. Marler and her husband Danny of Alexandria. Four grandchildren, Angie and her husband John Bruce of Lebanon, Rickey and his wife Samantha Baines of Alexandria, Nick Corley of Alexandria, and Erica and her husband Dusty Bradley of Lebanon. Five great grandchildren, Justin Bruce, Kyle Bruce, and Morgan Bruce all of Lebanon, Zachary Baines of Alexandria, and Chloe Belle Bradley of Lebanon. 92 year old Ruth Conger Green of Smithville died Saturday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a homemaker, a member of the Pisgah Methodist Church, a former Farm Bureau director, and a member of the Home Demonstration Club. The funeral will be Monday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from noon until 9:00 p.m. and Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas and Minnie Corley Reynolds; two husbands, James Robert Conger and Howard C. Green. Survivors include one son, Danny Conger of Liberty. First cousins, Sue Willoughby, Roy Burton, Jack, Roger, and Albert Corley, Ann Windle, Floyd Corley, Martha Banks, and Mildred Bass. 67 year old Jimmy Arnold of Smithville died Saturday at Centennial Medical Center. He was a retired custodian at DeKalb Middle School and a member of the New Home Baptist Church. The funeral will be Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Junior Hibdon and Willard Ralph will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 1:30 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Lee and Gracie Arnold and a brother, Clovis Arnold. Survivors include his wife Sue Arnold of Smithville. A sister, Emmogene Arnold of Smithville. A niece, Rhonda and her husband Tim Young of Smithville. 51 year old Linda Taylor of McMinnville died Friday at Generations Health Care Center. She was a homemaker. The funeral will be Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home in Dublin, Indiana. Burial will be in South Lawn cemetery in Dublin. Visitation will be Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. She was preceded in death by her father, Marvin Dungan. She is survived by her husband, Thomas "Ernie" Taylor of McMinnville. Her mother, Juanita Dungan of Indiana. Four children, Jerry Taylor of Manchester, Melissa Deason of Murfreesboro, David Taylor of Manchester, and James Taylor of Manchester. Two brothers, Tim Dungan of Arkansas and Doug Dungan of Missouri. One sister, Penny Lanning of Indiana. Seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Carolyn Maynard

58 year old Carolyn Maynard of Smithville died Tuesday at her residence. She was a retired teacher at Smithville Elementary School where she taught for 35 years. She was also a member of the Elizabeth Chapel Baptist Church, the American Cancer Society, and the Tennessee Education Association. The funeral will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bill Robertson will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.; Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.; and Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Evelyn Smith Keith; two sons, Keith and Lee Tracy Maynard; and a brother, Ralph Keith. Survivors include her husband, L.T. Maynard; one daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Greg Heffner; and a sister, Helen Redmon all of Smithville. Two nieces, Jeanette Youngblood of Liberty and Tavia Keith of Smithville. One nephew, Chad Keith of Dowelltown. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. The family has requested that donations please be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude's Children's Hospital, in lieu of flowers.

57 year old Clarence Aurbon Saylors of Smithville died Tuesday at Riverview Regional Medical Center. He was a nursery worker. The funeral will be Friday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Whorton Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from noon until 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Nellie Braswell Saylors; a brother, James "Red" Saylors; and a sister, Ruby Nell Ferrell. Survivors include his children, Timothy and his wife Christen Saylors of McMinnville; Lisa and her husband Buddy Lynch of Shelbyville; Tresa and her husband Barry Estes of McMinnville;and Michael and his wife Ashley Saylors of Smithville. Sisters, Glema and her husband Eddie King of Beersheba Springs and Joyce Farless of McMinnville. Fourteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren survive. Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., and Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Ora Bramlett Shelton; a son, Kyle Melton; a grandchild, Jacob Bunch and brothers, Eugene Shelton, Hubble Shelton, and Michael Shelton. She is survived by her children, Lisa and her husband Eddie Anderson of Smithville, Tony Vanatta of Smithville, Eric Vanatta of McMinnville, and Krissy and her husband Bobby Morgan of Smithville. Grandchildren, Emilee and Elisha Anderson, Justin Vanatta, Logan and Devin Vanatta, and Kane and Austin Morgan. Sisters, Louise Clark of Benton, Aundra Hale of Alexandria, Elizabeth Frazier of Alexandria, and Angelia Claubough of Cleveland. Brothers, Poley Shelton of Smithville, Curtis Shelton of Temperance Hall, and Jeff Shelton of Smithville. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
