Wilma Ray Shockley Luna

80 year old Wilma Ray Shockley Luna of McMinnville died Thursday at NHC Healthcare of McMinnville of an extended illness. She was a homemaker and a native of Van Buren County. The funeral will be Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at the Indian Mound The Baptist Church, where she was a member. Glenn Love will officiate and burial will be in the Indian Mound cemetery in DeKalb County. Visitation will be Friday from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at High Funeral Home in McMinnville. She was preceded in death by her parents, David Ray and Edna Mae Mills Shockley; her husband, Waymon Edgar Luna; a brother, Charles Shockley; sisters, Evelyn Womack and Florencene Johnson; and a grandson, Corey Luna. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Janis and Bill Darnaby and Webb and Sandy Luna all of McMinnville, and Sandra and Gary Rankin of Maryville. Six grandchildren, Lamar Bain, Blair Harbin, and Blaine Luna all of McMinnville, John Tucker Rankin, Addie Rankin, and Zeke Rankin all of Maryville. One great-grandson, Trevor Connelly of McMinnville. Five sisters and brothers-in-law, Georgia Hodge, Nina and R.C. Tobitt, Davidene and Carl Tobitt, and Carlene and Charles Hopkins all of McMinnville, and Donna and Jimmy Brady of Leesburg, Florida. Several nieces and nephews also survive. High Funeral Home in McMinnville is in charge of the arrangements.

Dorothy M. Davis

73 year old Dorothy M. Davis of Smithville died Thursday at her residence. She was a Pentecostal and a cook at Neo's. The funeral will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Robert Presley will officiate and burial will be in the Gunter-Grizzle Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.; Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.; and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Evert and Minnie Bell Bain Lawson; a daughter, Donna Moore; two brothers, Jewell Lawson and Limmie Lawson; a half-brother, Carlon Matheny; three sisters, Susie Farris, Emmie Farless, Thelma Herman; and a half-sister, Clara Mai Caldwell. She is survived by her husband, Robert Lee Davis of Smithville. Three daughters, Joyce Farless of Tullahoma, Judy and her husband Jerry Fish of Smithville, and Bobbie Todd of Smithville. One son, Ricky and his wife Jama Todd of Smithville. Six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild survive along with two brothers, Charlie and his wife Shirley Matheny of Nashville and Toy and his wife Faye Lawson of Liberty. Two sisters, Uller and her husband Robert Presley of McMinnville and Christine and her husband Willie Murphy of Liberty. Several nieces and nephews survive in addition to three step-daughters, Tammy and her husband Mark Eby of Rocky Mountain, North Carolina, Shalane Davis of Florida, Mary and her husband Steven Penticost of Charlotte, Tennessee. One step- grandson, Mark Andrew Eby of North Carolina and a step-granddaughter, Devon Leann Eby of North Carolina. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Alma Dean Sorrell

84 year old Alma Dean Sorrell of Smithville died Tuesday at NHC Healthcare Center. She was a Protestant and a retired General Motors factory worker. A graveside service will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Whorton Springs Cemetery. Michael Hale will officiate. Visitation will be Saturday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. There will be no visitation on Sunday. The family and friends will gather at the cemetery for the service at 2:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Allen and Annie Martha Malone Cripps; brothers, Wilson, James, and T.W. Cripps; and sisters, Katherine Martin, Lillie Chapman, and Gladys Kelley. She is survived by a son, Bob Rucker of Bowling Green, Kentucky. A grandson, Scott Rucker of Bowling Green, Kentucky. A sister, Grace Fish of Dayton, Ohio. Several nieces and nephews also survive. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Cecil Edward McClain

62 year old Cecil Edward McClain of Woodbury died Monday at DeKalb Community Hospital. He was retired from Vaught Aircraft and a member of the Poplar Hill Baptist Church. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Viola Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Pearl Turner McClain and two sisters, Anita McClain and Marie Turner. Survivors include his wife, Peggy Driver McClain of Woodbury. Three sons, Kent McClain of Manchester, Danny McClain of Maine, and Marcus Grandstaff of Alexandria. One daughter, Shirley Tomlin of McMinnville. Eight grandchildren, one great grandchild, and five brothers, Louis and Ricky McClain of McMinnville, Bill and Jay McClain of Smithville, and Jimmy McClain of Murfreesboro. Five sisters, Jo Ann Stubblefield of Florida, and Janie Certain, Georgia McCorkle, Mae Prater, and Mary Jernigan all of McMinnville. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Willard B. Brown

70 year old Willard B. Brown of Smithville died Sunday at his residence. He was a carpenter for Hardaway Construction and a Baptist. The funeral will be Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Al Mahan will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Enoch Hickman Brown and Nellie Nannie Stafford Brown; a sister, Anna Bell Ramsey; and a brother, Jimmy Brown. Survivors include his wife, Loretta Shoemake Brown of Smithville. Four sons, Darrell Brown of Smithville, Bob Brown of Michigan, Ricky Bowman of Gordonsville, and Tom Bowman of Cookeville. Four daughters, Pamela Whitehead and Kathy Knowles of Smithville, Karen Wettlaufer and Connie Madill of Michigan. Twenty one grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Two brothers, J.B. Brown of Celina and Freeman Brown of Smithville. Five sisters, Janie Shoemake of Baxter, Bobbie Ledbetter of Baxter, Betty Bryant of Cookeville, Jewel Bilbrey of Algood, and Emmline Chaffin of Baxter. 87 year old Mrs. Gelaska Adcock of the Green Hill area of Warren County died Sunday at NHC Healthcare in McMinnville. Born in DeKalb County, she was a homemaker and a member of the Keltonburg Church of Christ. The funeral will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Phillip Adcock, Danny Jones, and Teddy Jones will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at McMinnville Funeral Home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Vennie Judkins McGinness; her husband, Ike Adcock; a sister, Frankie Luna; and her brothers, Dennis McGinniss and James Hugh McGinnis and two infant brothers. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Lena and Burton Jones of the Green Hill area. Grandchildren and their spouses, Danny and Penny Jones of Lenoir City, Teddy and Amanda Jones of the Green Hill area, and April and Wes Winton of Winchester. Great grandchildren, Dreama Jones, Dana Jones, Dillon Jones, Breanna Jones, Danielle Gelaska Jones, Gabrielle Jones, and Julie Mae Winton. McMinnville Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Josiah Graden Kirksey

Josiah Graden Kirksey, the four day old son of Graden and Sabrina Vanatta Kirksey of Smithville, died Saturday at his residence. The body is at Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. A private graveside service for family members only will be Monday at DeKalb Memorial Gardens. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Jerry Vanatta. In addition to his parents, the child is survived by his maternal grandmother, Judy Vanatta of Smithville. His paternal grandmother, Gail Kirksey of Smithville. His paternal grandfather, Howard and his wife Carol Ann Kirksey of Tullahoma. His paternal great grandmother, Betty Kirksey of Murfreesboro. Aunts, Michelle Hawkins and Martha Kirksey both of Smithville. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. The family asks that donations be made in lieu of flowers to the Smithville Church of God.

70 year old Carmack Allen of Smithville died Friday at Centennial Hospital in Nashville. He was an inspector for the State of Tennessee. The funeral will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Bonham Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from noon until the time of the service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nalcolm and Cecil Allen; a son, Keith Allen; and a brother, Larry Allen. Survivors include his wife, Dolores Allen of Nashville. One son, Michael Anthony Allen of Nashville. Three grandchildren, Ashley Martin of Smithville, and Kevin Allen, and Chris Allen of Nashville. One sister, Helen Matthews of Gallatin. 60 year old Jesse Garlin Jones of Auburntown died suddenly Sunday at the emergency room of Stones River Hospital. He was a Cannon County native, a Baptist, and a machinist at the Quality Tool and Die Company. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home. Steve Jones will officiate and burial will be in the Odom Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Hilton Jones and a brother, Donald Ray Jones. Survivors include his mother, Pauline Jones Clay of Woodbury. His wife of 39 years, Gearline George Jones of Auburntown. Brothers, Jim and his wife Doris Jones of Woodbury, Steve and his wife Kathy Jones of Georgia, and Jerry and his wife Kim Jones of Indiana. A sister, Karen and her husband Richard Gross of Manchester. A sister-in-law, Diane Jones of Woodbury. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Woodbury Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

74 year old Dorothy Couch Tramel of Smithville died Saturday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of the Covenant Baptist Church. The funeral will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bobby Thomason will officiate and burial will be in the Mount View cemetery in Warren County. Visitation will be Monday from noon until 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mattie Webb Couch; a brother, Doris Edward Couch; and a grandchild, Thomas Hyden. Survivors include her husband of 36 years, Paul Tramel of Smithville. Three daughters, Brenda and her husband Nick Reff of Hendersonville, and Tricia Adams and Karen Fox of McMinnville. Thirteen grandchildren, Allen and Tiffany Hyden, Christina Seibers, and Ricky and Dusty Fox all of McMinnville, Steven Hyden of Hermitage, Victoria Hyden and Kristen Cagle of Hendersonville, Vanessa Trapp-Hayes of Murfreesboro, Sierra Reff of Virginia, Gordon, Kaleigh, and Sidney Reff of Indiana. Nine great grandchildren, Blake and Austin Moore, Savannah Hyden, Jaden Galy, Logan and Amber Hyden, Cailin Trapp, Agah Hayes, and Chloe Fox. Two brothers, Randall and Charles Couch of McMinnville.
