89 year old Ruby Lorell Adcock of Smithville died Monday at NHC Healthcare Center. She was a retired garment factory worker and a member of the New Union The Baptist Church. The funeral will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Bryan Jones will officiate and burial will be in the New Union Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.; Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.; and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Bertie Walker Adcock and brothers, Thanuel, Clemon, and Truman Adcock. She is survived by a sister, Maureen Adcock of Smithville. Nieces, Geneva Knowles and Thelma Adcock both of Smithville and several other nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mrs. Eddie Mae Bain Kilgore
87 year old Mrs. Eddie Mae Bain Kilgore of Shelbyville died Thursday at her residence. She was a homemaker and a member of the People's Pentecostal Church. The funeral will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday from noon until 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Ada Bain; two husbands, William Manny Bain and Alfred Kilgore; three brothers, Harrison, Bud, and Clay Bain; and three sisters, Ellen James. Amy Estes, and Charity Maggart. Survivors include two daughters, Mary and her husband James Hill of Shelbyville and Nancy and her husband Lee Watley of Murfreesboro. One son, Ernest Bain of Smithville. One sister, Eller and her husband George Howse of Murfreesboro. Nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren also survive. 86 year old Georgia Villa Camp McCarver of the Cagle community near Dunlap, died at the home of her daughter, Carolyn Powers, in Smithville on Wednesday. Mrs. McCarver was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Rev. Jessie Eugene McCarver, parents, Arthur and Grace Hickey Camp, sisters, Nadean Camp, Doshie Smith, Vira Layne, brothers, Millard Camp, Hershel Camp, and Newt Camp, Survivors include; children, Ethelene Rust of McMinnville, Jessie (Anthia) McCarver of Tracy City, Carolyn Powers of Smithville, Claymon and Dee McCarver of Rock Island, Marshall and Kathie Ann McCarver of Chattanooga, and Kathy Cantrell of McMinnville, 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren 1 great-great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Ewton Funeral Home Chapel. Lanny Tate will officiate and burial will be in Cagle-Mount Pleasant Cemetery. 50 year old Jeffery A. Scheffler of Smithville died Wednesday at DeKalb Community Hospital. He was retired from Moog. A memorial service will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Saint Gregory Catholic Church. Father James Bretl will officiate. 73 year old Helen Burgess Mabe VanStrander of Alexandria died Thursday at University Medical Center in Lebanon. She was born in Brush Creek, the daughter of the late Nellie Anne Howell and Harvey McMillan Burgess. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Franklin Mabe; a daughter, Mary Christine Mabe; and a son, Steve Mabe, Sr. She was later married
to Richard Van Strander. She worked for the Wilson County Shirt Company in Watertown and later at Kroger in Lebanon. VanStrander was a homemaker and a member of the Auburntown Church of Christ. The body is at Avant Funeral Home in Alexandria where the service will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. David Dunn and Glenn Ramsey will officiate and burial will be in the Brush Creek Cemeter. 77 year old Bobby Lee Hall of Watertown died Saturday at his residence. He was a truck driver and a member of the Watertown Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Hall, born in Wilson County, was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran. He was an AmVet, lifetime member of the V.F.W., and a member of the North American Hunting Club.
