SERENE (GARRETT) STEPHENS
Funeral services for Mrs. Serene (Garrett) Stephens, 76, of Stigler, OK, and formerly of Livingston, were conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, September 19, 2003, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.

Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens with Bro. Bobby Gore, Bro. Randy Stephens, and Bro. Benny Stephens officiating.

Mrs. Stephens died Tueday, September 16 at her daughter's home in Oklahoma. She was a retired factory worker, clerk, and a quilter. She was a member of Walnut Grove Church of Christ. Her greatest joys in life were singing and her children. She was an alto singer in the "Tennessee Stephens Quartet", and she and her brother, Lonzie Garrett, recorded as "Garrett Duet".

Born March 1, 1927, in the Barnes Ridge area of Pickett County, she was the daughter of the late W.H. and Ella (Clark) Garrett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Z.J. Stephens; two brothers, Dessie Garrett and Garland Garrett; and a step-daughter, Bobby Ann Masters.

Survivors include two sons, John Stephens and his wife, Patricia, of Livingston, and Randy Stephens and his wife, Donna, of Springville; four daughters, Myrtle Grasberger of Shelbyville, KY, Marilyn Auberson and her husband, Doy, of Lebanon, and Marcia Labor and her husband, John, and Marla Stephens, all of Stigler; two step-daughters, Betty Lamb of Berea, KY, and Frances Sebastian and her husband, Wayne, of Lexington, KY; two brothers, Lonzie Garrett of Phoenix, AZ, and Clurie Garrett of Livingston; a sister, Monnie Garrett of Gainesboro; seven grandchildren; a great grandchild; six step-grandchildren; and nine step-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Doy Auberson, John Labor, Tom Spohnholtz, Tommy Lamb, Kyle Stephens, and Stephen Sebastian.

Serving as honorary pallbearers were Charlie Hicks, Darrell Sebastian, Wayne Sebastian, and Michael Sebastian.

Memorial contributions may be made to Walnut Grove Church of Christ or Sulphur Well Church of Christ Scholarship Fund through Speck Funeral Home.

MICKEY LEE BOWMAN
Funeral services for Mr. Mickey Lee Bowman, 33, of Rickman, were conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, October 28, 2004, at Harris Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.

Burial was in Harris Chapel cemetery with Bro. Rick Dixon officiating.

Mr. Bowman died Tuesday, October 26 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a dispatcher for Copeland Trucking Inc. and was affiliated with Harris Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.

Born March 10, 1971, in Overton County, he was the son of Ronnie Hargis of Hilham and Johnnie Mae (Kennedy) Ledbetter of Livingston. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Les and Daisy Kennedy.

Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his wife, Tonya Lynn (Brown) Bowman of Rickman; three sons, Brian Thomas Bowman, Dakota Lane Bowman, and Bailey Wyatt Bowman, all of Rickman; a daughter, Amber Lynn Bowman of Rickman; two brothers, Brandon Bowman and Tommy Hargis, both of Livingston; and four sisters, Monica Sidwell and Mouchie Cruz, both of Allons, Michelle Dixon of Livingston, and Robbie Smith of Monroe.

Pallbearers were Gary Smith, Johnny Cyrus, Robbie Walker, Donnie White, Mark Ramsey, and Ed Henry.

Serving as honorary pallbearers were Melvin McDonald and all the drivers of Copeland Trucking Inc.

JEAN COLE
Funeral services for Mrs. Jean Cole, 86, of McMinnville, were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, November 1, 2004, from the chapel of High Funeral Home in McMinnville.

Burial was in Cole cemetery in Overton County with Carl Smith officiating.

Mrs. Cole died Friday, October 29 at NHC Healthcare in McMinnville. She was a homemaker and a member of Madison Street Baptist Church.

Born September 3, 1918, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Denton Gunnels and Julie Annyous Maynard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Lee Cole; and a great granddaughter, Allie Stinson.

Survivors include a son, Tommy Cole of Murfreesboro; two daughters, Janie Webb of Dayton, OH, and Judy Stinson of McMinnville; seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Special care provided by High Funeral Home.

CHRISTINE LOOPER
Funeral services for Mrs. Christine Looper, 87, of Monterey, were conducted at noon Friday, October 29, 2004, from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home in Monterey.

Burial was in Harris Chapel cemetery with Rev. Tony Barnett and Rev. Jack Taylor officiating.

Mrs. Looper died Wednesday, October 27 at Standing Stone Care and Rehabilitation Center in Monterey. She was retired from Barber's Manufacturing Company in Anderson, IN, and was a member of Monterey First Freewill Baptist Church.

Born March 4, 1917, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late William "Bill" and Ican (Bowman) Looper. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Doyle W. Pittman; her second husband, Talmade Looper; two sisters, Alberta Neely and Alice Krantz; and four brothers, Alvin Looper, Joe Sair Looper, Att Looper, and Bradin Looper.

Survivors include two special nephews, Kyle Looper and Hoyt Looper, both of Monterey; and two step-sons, Jennings Looper of Clarkrange and Raymond Looper of Monterey.

Mrs. Looper's nephews served as pallbearers.

FAYE M. MITCHELL
Funeral services for Mrs. Faye M. Mitchell, 89, of Livingston, were conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, October 29, 2004, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.

Burial was in Good Hope cemetery with Bro. Benny Sells officiating.

Mrs. Mitchell died Wednesday, October 27 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church and Livingston Eastern Star.

She was born August 4, 1915, in Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, E.G. Mitchell; and a daughter, JoAnn Simcox.

Survivors include a grandson, Tommy Simcox of Alpine; a granddaughter, Marcia West of Sweetwater; and five great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Jerry Windle, Richard "Ossie" Mitchell, Jerry Simpson, Danny Simpson, Matt Simcox, and Andy Mitchell.

RUBY LUCILLE MOFIELD
Funeral services for Mrs. Ruby Lucille Mofield, 87, of Livingston, were conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 30, 2004, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.

Burial was in Okolona cemetery with Rev. Nolan Cantrell officiating.

Mrs. Mofield died Friday, October 29 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a retired factory worker and a member of the Church of Christ.

Born September 27, 1917, in Clay County, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Roxie (Masters) Teeples. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Mofield; a son, Kenneth Mofield; and a brother, Minor Teeples.

Survivors include a daughter, Ginger Young of Livingston; a brother, Bill Teeples of Celina; two grandchildren, Steve Young and Kim Barlow; and a great grandson, Ethan Barlow.

Pallbearers were Jim Lee Young, Robert Young, Charlie Gunter, Anthony Barlow, Joe Coffee, and Charles Young.

GERALDINE (AYERS) SCANTLAND
Funeral services for Mrs. Geraldine (Ayers) Scantland, 76, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, October 29, 2004, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.

Burial was in Lynn cemetery in Jackson County with Bro. Marlon Winningham and Bro. Billy Burchett officiating.

Mrs. Scantland died Wednesday, October 27 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a retired garment factory worker and a member of Flatt Creek Church of Christ.

Born April 26, 1928, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Winton and Virgie (Randolph) Ayers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawton Scantland; a son, George Scantland; two grandsons, James Richard Savage and Mark Allen Savage; and her step-father, Perry Buck.

Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Savage of Livingston and Carolyn Huffer of Monroe; a brother, Billy Buck of Gainesboro; two sisters, Wilma Buck and Martha Buck, both of Gainesboro; nine grandchildren, Brian Huffer, Brandon Savage, Jennifer Crabtree, Doug Savage, Timmy Scantland, Kim Scantland, Scottie Scantland, Steve Auberson, and Melissa Hicks; and eight great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Timmy Scantland, Scottie Scantland, Stevie Scantland, Brian Huffer, Brandon Savage, and Doug Savage.

BRENDA WATSON
Funeral services for Mrs. Brenda Watson, 46, of Celina, were conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 28, 2004, from the chapel of Hall Funeral Home in Celina.

Burial was in Poplar Grove cemetery in Cumberland County, KY, with Willie Kerr officiating.

Mrs. Watson died Tuesday, October 26 at Cumberland River Hospital in Celina.

Born July 22, 1958, in Cumberland County, she was the daughter of Annie Huddleston of Celina and the late Roy Huddleston.

Survivors, in addition to her mother, include two sons, Nathan Huddleston of Hermitage and Shawn Watson of Celina; a brother, Gary Huddleston of Burkesville, KY; a sister, Helen Huddleston of Smithville; a half-brother, Carl Spears of Indiana; a nephew, Barry McCoy of Burkesville; and a niece, Kristen Huddleston of Burkesville.

Pallbearers were Dusty Adams, Chad Watson, Chase Stephens, Nathaniel Tinsley, Lucas Groce, and Stephen Hall.

MAZELL BILBREY
Funeral services for Mrs. Mazell Bilbrey, 62, of the Love Joy Community of Overton County, were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 10, 2003, at Cornerstone Freewill Baptist Church. Burial was in Love Joy cemetery with Rev. Johnny Bilbrey, Rev. David Harris, and Rev. Johnny Bertram officiating.

Mrs. Bilbrey died Sunday, June 8 at her home. She was a factory worker and a member of Cornerstone Freewill Baptist Church.

Born July 29, 1940, in Overton County, she was the daughter of Audrey (Neely) Bilbrey of the Plateau Community of Cumberland County and the late Estel Bilbrey. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Bilbrey; and four sisters, Margie Swallows, Grace Edith Bilbrey, Ernistine Bilbrey, and Willene Bilbrey.

Survivors, in addition to her mother, include her husband of 41 years, J.D. Bilbrey of the Love Joy Community; three step-daughters, Susan Bilbrey of Monterey, Linda Bilbrey of Sparta, and Lisa Harris of the Mineral Springs Community; four sisters, Adean Vaughn of Monterey, Gwen Pryor of Crossville, Jeanette King of Mayland, and Brenda Swallows of the Plateau Community; four brothers, J.V. Bilbrey, Harlon Bilbrey, Terry Bilbrey, and Jerry Bilbrey, all of the Plateau Community; a special friend, Betty Hollars of Cookeville; and four grandchildren, John Harris, Elizabeth Presley, Savanna Bowman, and Jesse Reeves.

JAMES EARL BOHANNON
Funeral services for Mr. James Earl Bohannon, 74, of Vandalia, OH, were conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 5, 2003, from Northridge Chapel of George C. Martin Funeral Home in Dayton, OH. Burial was in Poplar Hill cemetery in Dayton with Pastor Michael Severt officiating.

Mr. Bohannon died Monday, June 2 in Vandalia. He retired from General Motors and was a member of House of Faith Church.

Born December 9, 1928, in Cookeville, he was the son of the late John and Effie Mae (Huddleston) Bohannon.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Pansy (Roberson) Bohannon of Vandalia; three sons, David Bohannon and wife, Brenda, of Cookeville, Rick Bohannon and wife, Elizabeth, of Laura, OH, and Jack Bohannon of Vandalia; a brother-in-law, Bennie Roberson and wife, Alene, of Rickman; two sisters, Geneva Roberson of Cookeville and Vallie King of Crossville; a sister-in-law, Louise (Roberson) Brown of Cookeville; six grandchildren, Gina, Scott, Crystal, Karie, Jeremy, and April; and nine great grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to Earl Bohannon Trust, c/o House of Faith Church, 4060 Champaign Avenue, Huber Heights, OH 45424.

JOHNNIE "J.D." CARR
Funeral services for Mr. Johnnie "J.D." Carr, 76, of Algood, were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 5, 2003, from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home in Cookeville. Burial was in Dodson Chapel cemetery with Bro. Ulis Hammock officiating.

Mr. Carr died Monday, June 2 at his home. He was a factory worker at Dacco Inc. and also worked at Builder's Supply. He was affiliated with Officer's Chapel Church of God.

Born August 25, 1926, in Algood, he was the son of the late Willie and Lola (Qualls) Carr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia (Webb) Carr; a son, David Carr; and two brothers, Frankie Carr and Jimmie Carr.

Survivors include a son, Ricky Carr and wife, Gail, of the Dodson Branch Community; two daughters, Judy Carr and Teresa Peek, both of Algood; a brother, Bruce Carr and wife, Dimple, of Algood; three sisters, Lucille Grant of Algood, Joanna Steele of Baxter, and Carol Mahan and husband, Lynn, also of Baxter; and three grandchildren, Jennifer Carr, Richard Carr, and Adam Carr. Mr. Carr's family served as pallbearers.
