RICKIE L. HINDS
Funeral services for Mr. Rickie L. Hinds, 50, of Battle Creek, MI, will be conducted at noon Thursday, June 12, 2003, from the chapel of Royal Funeral Home in Battle Creek. Burial will be in Ceresco cemetery with Rev. Glenn Huisinga officiating.

Mr. Hinds died Sunday, June 8 at his home in Battle Creek. He graduated from Springfield, MI, High School in 1970 and was previously employed by Community Hospital in housekeeping for two years. He had been employed by General Motors for the past 30-1/2 years at the Fisher Body Plant in Kalamazoo, MI, and most recently by the Oldsmobile plant in Lansing, MI. Mr. Hinds was a member of United Auto Workers Local 652, coached Springfield league baseball for many years, enjoyed bowling, particularly in the Wednesday night Climax bowling league, golfing, softball, tennis, playing cards, and gardening. He loved his family, children, and granchildren. He married the former Susan Lyke on July 19, 1975, and their union lasted 11 years.

Born October 20, 1952, in Battle Creek, he was the son of Frances (Eldridge) Hinds, of Springfield, MI, and the late Harlan A. Hinds.

Survivors, in addition to his mother, include two sons, Rickie L. Hinds Jr. and wife, Gina, of Springfield and Nickolas S. Hinds and wife, Kassandra, of Battle Creek; a brother, James Hinds and wife, Noreen, of Lexington, KY; four grandchildren, Loretta, Mercedez, Troy, and Autumn; an uncle and aunt, Haskell and Lucille Huddleston of Battle Creek; two special nieces, Barbara Michniak and Jill Dresslein; two nephews, Eric Hinds and Scott Kerr; ex-wife and best friend, Susan Miller of Springfield; and several aunts and uncles in Tennessee, Louisiana, and Oklahoma.

DON BEATY
Funeral services for Mr. Don Beaty, 88, of the Crossroads Community near Monterey, were conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, May 30, 2003, from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home in Monterey.

Burial was in Welch Memorial cemetery with Pastor Arlen Bryant officiating.

Mr. Beaty died Tuesday, May 27 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was an electrician, a member of New Life Christian Fellowship World Wide Church of God in Cookeville, and a World War II Navy veteran.

Born April 26, 1915, in Fentress County, he was the son of the late Isaac and Martha (Lynch) Beaty.

Survivors include his wife of more than 50 years, Ella (Hicks) Beaty of Monterey; and a host of other relatives and friends.

JOHNIE ESTEL HULL
Funeral services for Mr. Johnie Estel Hull, 72, of Monroe, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2003, at Oakdale Baptist Church. Burial was in Bethsaida cemetery with Bro. Nolen Cantrell and Bro. Austin Flowers officiating.

Mr. Hull died Wednesday, May 28 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a factory worker, a farmer, and a member of Oakdale Baptist Church. He was an officer with the U.A.W. Union, a member of U.A.W. Local 704 for 20 years, and served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

Born September 19, 1930, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Ewing and Maudie (Richardson) Hull. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean (Dulworth) Hull; three sisters, Lexie Booher, Mary Vecheal Hull, and Alma Jean Hull; and three half-brothers, Hubert, Herbert, and Lawerance.

Survivors include two sons, Danny Hull of Monroe and James Hull of Galesburg, MI; four sisters, Ruth Smith and Vada Norrod, both of Monroe, Betty Choate of Alpine, and Louella Ledford of Livingston; four brothers, Kelly Hull of Allons, James Hull of Livingston, Emerson Hull of Monroe, and Lester Hull of Alpine; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were James Ross Hull, Larry Hull, Richard Hull, Steve Choate, Rodney Johnson, and Ronnie White.

EVA M. LINDER
Funeral services for Mrs. Eva M. Linder, 97, of Livingston, were conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, May 23, 2003, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Burial was in Good Hope cemetery with Rev. Glen Winningham officiating.

Mrs. Linder died Monday, May 19 at Overton County Nursing Home. She was a housewife and a member of Livingston Church of Christ.

Born January 20, 1906, in Pickett County, she was the daughter of the late Lena Nichels. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Gentry Linder; a son, Ray Frank Linder; a daughter, Agnes Christeen Linder; and four sisters, Leo Tayes, Mary Howard, Macy Segrest, and Dee Jopp.

Survivors include a son, Johnnie Ray Linder of Livingston; a daughter, Pauline Linder of Livingston; 9 grandchildren, Eddie Puckett, Jackie Puckett, Agnes Puckett, Eva Puckett, Ray Linder, Rose Nell Linder, Roger Dale Linder, Frank Allen Linder, and Johnny Wayne Linder; 12 great grandchildren, Eddie Puckett Jr., Judy Puckett, David Puckett, Melissa Puckett, Travis Puckett, Tammy Robb, Gentry Linder, Jessie Dale Linder, Jessie Ray Linder, Kimberly Linder, Jody Linder, and Katlyn Rayne Linder; and 9 great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Ray Linder, Roger Linder, Frank Linder, Johnnie Wayne Linder, Eddie Puckett, and Jackie Puckett.

Serving as honorary pallbearers were Larry Maynord and James Tinsley.

ODESSA MISSOURI NORROD
Funeral services for Mrs. Odessa Missouri Norrod, 97, of Monroe, were conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2003, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Burial was in Grant Norrod cemetery with Bro. John Copeland officiating.

Mrs. Norrod died Sunday, May 25 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a housewife, a member of Smith Chapel United Methodist Church, and a member of McDonald Chapel United Methodist Church.

Born October 18, 1905, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Amy (Dennis) Coleman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Benton S. Norrod; two sisters, Lena Mea Green and Cella Ramsey; and four brothers, Claude Coleman, Alphonso Coleman, Lloyd Coleman, and Lester Coleman.

Survivors include four sons, Marvin Norrod and wife, Vada, and Melvin Norrod and wife, Leta, all of Monroe, Cecil Norrod and wife, Ann, of Glasgow, KY, and Earl Dorman Norrod and wife, Anna, of Akron, OH; two daughters, Marian "Toots" Hull and husband, Emerson, of Monroe, and Thelma Philipp and husband, Wally, of Dunlap, IL; a sister, Naomi Gunnels of Akron; 14 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

CHESTER EUGENE RAY
Graveside services for Mr. Chester Eugene Ray, 76, of Loves Park, IL, and formerly of Overton County, were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, June 2, 2003, at Linder cemetery with Rev. Larry Thomas officiating.

Mr. Ray died Wednesday, May 28 at Rockford Memorial Hospital in Rockford, IL. He worked for the City Street Department for 30 years.

Born May 14, 1927, in Overton County, he was the son of the late John Lee and Fannie Mae (Louis) Ray. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elveleen (Winningham) Ray; a sister; and two grandchildren.

Survivors include three sons, James Ray and Charlie Lee Ray, both of Loves Park, and Leonard Eugene Ray of Lebanon; five grandchildren, Amanda Ray, Jamie Eugene Ray, Christie Hancock, Joshua Grenoble, and Jerry Grenoble; and a great grandchild, Kaitlyn Ray.

JOHNNIE EDWARD REAGAN
Funeral services for Mr. Johnnie Edward Reagan, 59, of Allons, were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2003, at his home. Burial was in Reagan cemetery with Rev. Mike Owens officiating.

Mr. Reagan died Monday, May 26 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was a farmer, a Christian, and attended MartinŐs Chapel United Methodist Church.

Born October 26, 1943, in Clay County, he was the son of the late Roy E. and Belle (Wilborn) Reagan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Billy Glen Reagan; and a step-brother, Stanley Vaughn.

Survivors include his wife, Janet Reagan of Allons; two sons, Johnnie Dwayne Reagan and George Christopher Reagan, both of Allons; two daughters, Melissa Diane Bilbrey of Allons and Margaret Michelle Roberts of Livingston; two brothers, Roy Reagan and Jack Reagan, both of Allons; three sisters, Willie Pearl Savage, Leida Dulworth, and Ruth Ritter; and 15 grandchildren.

AUDA BELLE STEWART
Funeral services for Mrs. Auda Belle Stewart, 89, of Livingston, were conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2003, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Burial was in Good Hope cemetery with Rev. Donald Cobb officiating.

Mrs. Stewart died Thursday, May 29 at Overton County Nursing Home. She was a housewife and a member of First Baptist Church.

Born May 14, 1914, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late W.T. "Willie" and Nancy Pearl (Holman) Warden. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jewell Stewart; four brothers, Hack Warden, Tom Warden, Carl Warden, and Buck Warden; and two sisters, Anna Mae Ledbetter and Willie B. Williams.

Survivors include two daughters, Carol Beaudry of Naples, FL, and Rita Yett of San Diego, CA; and two sisters, Johnnye Dickerson of Livingston and Geneva Burris of Celina. Pallbearers were Shane Mosley, Jay Mosley, Brad Mosley, Lance Ruble, Gerald Ferrill, and Russell Warden.

LYDIA (BOLES) BARGER
Graveside services for Mrs. Lydia (Boles) Barger, 80, of Waterbury, CT, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, June 2, 2003, at Clarkrange cemetery with Bro. Kenneth Wilson officiating.

Mrs. Barger died Saturday, May 24 at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury. She was a senior companion.

Born May 4, 1923, in Livingston, she was the daughter of the late James Jefferson Boles and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Boles Manis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by seven brothers, Avert Boles, Edgerbert Boles, Beel Boles, Elbert Boles, Charlies Boles, John R. Boles, and Lonnie Boles.

Survivors include a daughter, Pat Doherty of Waterbury; two sons, Jeff Barger and Bill Barger, both of Bellbrook, OH; a sister, Josie Hooks of Algood; six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

JOHN WILLIAM DAILEY
Funeral services for Mr. John William Dailey, 71, of Cookeville, were conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, May 26, 2003, from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home. Burial was in Zion Hill cemetery with Bro. Clarence Jared officiating.

Mr. Dailey died Saturday, May 24 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was pastor at Bible Baptist Church in Cookeville, a retired sheet metal operator at Bennett Industries, and was affiliated with Missionary Baptist Church.

Born February 10, 1932, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Ben Bilyeu and Lena Ellie (Neal) Dailey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy Gene Dailey and Paul Vanis Dailey.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Leonia (Daniels) Dailey of Cookeville; three brothers, Walter Dailey and wife, Nell, Bob Dailey, and Jerry Dailey and wife, Faye, all of Rickman; two sisters, Mary Smith and husband, Troy, of Rickman, and Janice Brown and husband, Billy Joe, of Hanceville, AL; and a host of nieces and nephews.

JOHN DAVID "DAVE" HASSLER
Funeral services for Mr. John David "Dave" Hassler, 83, of Byrdstown, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 24, 2003, from the chapel of Brown Funeral Chapel in Byrdstown. Burial was in Lovelady-Sims cemetery with Bro. Dickie Hinton officiating.

Mr. Hassler died Thursday, May 22 at his residence. He was a retired employee with Tennessee Department of Transportation, a member of Lovelady Christian Church, a member of Byrdstown Masonic Lodge 496, and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Born September 15, 1919, in Pickett County, he was the son of the late Landon B. and Laura (Gunnels) Hassler. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Donovan Hassler and Shirley Hassler.

Survivors include his wife, Robbie (Wells) Hassler of Byrdstown; a brother, Early "Pete" Hassler of Sparta; nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and other family members and friends.

Mr. Hassler's nephews and great nephews served as pallbearers.

ALTON MASTERS
Funeral services for Mr. Alton Masters, 75, of Thackery, OH, were conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 24, 2003, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Burial was in New Hope cemetery with Rev. Ovle Tinch officiating.

Mr. Masters died Monday, May 19 at Erlanger Health System. He was a metal fabricator and a United States Army veteran of World War II.

Born October 6, 1927, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Birdwell and Florence Sarah (Lee) Masters. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie (Lee) Masters.

Survivors include a son, Rick Masters of Tipp City, OH; four brothers, Orcie Masters, Henry Masters, Vadis Masters, and Revell Masters, all of Livingston; two sisters, Immie Brady of Dayton, OH, and Dee Cummins; and two grandchildren, Josh Masters and Amanda Masters, both of Tipp City, OH.

ELWANDA (TAYLOR) MEYER
Funeral services for Mrs. Elwanda (Taylor) Meyer, 80, of Livingston, were conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2003, from Smyrna Church. Burial was in Smyrna cemetery with Randy Tompkins officiating.

Mrs. Meyer died Friday, May 23 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was a long time business woman.

Born September 14, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Dewey and Edith (Cope) Taylor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Lupton Meyer; a daughter, Marguerite Meyer; a brother, Jerry Taylor; and a sister, Leona Taylor.

Survivors include four sons, William R. Meyer of Livingston, John D. Meyer of Culpeper, VA, Charles L. Meyer and wife, Ilona, of Toledo, OH, and Robert D. Meyer and wife, Valeria, of East Ridge; a daughter, Janet Wallace and husband, Morgan, of Buffalo Valley; five brothers, Herman Taylor and wife, June, of Gray, KY, Gilbert Taylor of Byrdstown, Donald Taylor and wife, Elaine, of Austell, GA, Carl Taylor and wife, Jewell, of Maysville, KY, and Edmond Taylor and wife, Nancy, of Burkesville, KY; three sisters, Virginia Taylor of Byrdstown, Ann Norrod and husband, Cecil, of Glasgow, KY, and Sue Howell and husband, Lonnie, of Sparta; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
