HETTIE COFFMAN (BENNETT) SMITH
Funeral services for Mrs. Hettie Coffman (Bennett) Smith, 103, of Hendersonville and formerly of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 24, 2004, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.
Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens with Rev. Tom Halliburton and Rev. Craig Green officiating.
Mrs. Smith died Wednesday, January 21 at NHC Healthcare in Hendersonville. She was a department store sales clerk and the oldest member of Livingston First United Methodist Church. She was also the granddaughter of Captain Jacob Coffman Bennett, who served with General John Hunt Morgan of Morgan's Raiders during the Civil War.
Born December 19, 1900, in Clay County, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Amy (Maxfield) Bennett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Audrain E. Smith; and a sister, Lillie (Bennett) Brown.
Survivors include a son, Lt. Col. (Ret.) Arnold Smith and his wife, Irene, of Warner Robbins, GA; a daughter, Juanita Carr and her husband, Albert, of Hendersonville; and a granddaughter, Noroma Benz and her husband, Jack, of Goodlettsville.
Mrs. Smith's family and friends served as pallbearers.

OREN VAUGHN
Funeral services for Mr. Oren Vaughn, 76, of Highland Mountain, were conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, January 23, 2004, from the chapel of Rickman-Hall Funeral Home.
Burial was in Highland Mountain cemetery with Jerry Harris and J.B. Harris officiating.
Mr. Vaughn died Monday, January 20 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He worked in the Anderson School System in Indiana for many years.
Born April 23, 1927, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Matilda (Phillips) Vaughn. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Cora Vaughn; two brothers, Aron Rudolph Vaughn and Joe Claude Vaughn; and a sister, Martha Jane Hargis.
Survivors include three sons, James Vaughn of Anderson, Dallas Vaughn of Moonesville, IN, and Billy Vaughn of Livingston; a daughter, Susie Miller of AllenTown, PA; a brother, Kenneth Vaughn of Timothy; two sisters, Elegene Dixon of Knoxville and Irene Phillips of Cookeville; 11 grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Kristian Mansell, Kenneth Mansell, Willard Mansell, John Mansell, Josh Mansell, and Mark Vaughn.

MURIEL E. RAMSEY
Funeral services for Mrs. Muriel E. Ramsey, 81, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, May 16, 2003, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens with Rev. Donald Cobb officiating.
Mrs. Ramsey died Tuesday, May 13 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a factory worker at Botany 500 and a member of First Baptist Church in Livingston.
Born May 18, 1921, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Posie Warren and Bonzie (Williams) Gunnels. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Porter "Pete" Ramsey; a daughter, Sharon Kay Ramsey; and a brother, Rudolph Gunnels. Survivors include a daughter, Pat Rich of Livingston; a brother, Rodney Gunnels of Livingston; a sister, Fern Bilbrey of Livingston; three grandchildren; and a great granddaughter.
Pallbearers were Dale Bilbrey, John Michael Stephens, David Thompson, Jim Gunnels, and Donald Williams.

MYRTLE JEAN SELLS
Funeral services for Mrs. Myrtle Jean Sells, 69, of Livingston, were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2003, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Burial was in Green Hill cemetery with Bro. Rick Cross officiating.
Mrs. Sells died Friday, May 16 in Neoga, IL. She was a housewife and a member of Jesus is the Lighthouse Full Gospel Pentecostal Church.
Born June 29, 1933, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late James Christopher and Mary (Stout) Deck. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Auzie Sells Sr.; a son, Williard Auzie Sells Jr.; four brothers, Hayden Deck, Cooper Deck, J.B. Deck, and Bass Deck; and four sisters, Bess Hargis, Maurine Handy, Opal Norris, and Jewell Halsell.
Survivors include a daughter, Robin Ray and husband, Albert, of Dayton, TN; a granddaughter, Jennifer Ray of Fall River, MA; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and dear friends. Pallbearers were Dale Sullivan, Clinton Hargis, Michael Deck, Paul Hargis, R.L. Olgetree, and Billy Hargis. Serving as honorary pallbearer was Ronnie Hargis.

HILLIS DUKE
Funeral services for Miss Hillis Duke, 76, of Baxter and formerly of Overton County, were conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, September 23, 2004, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.
Burial was in Ruth Chapel cemetery with Bro. Tim Wilson officiating.
Miss Duke died Monday, September 20 at Masters Health Care Center in Algood. She was a homemaker and a member of Ruth Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Born January 18, 1928, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Ruthie (Matthews) Duke. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Horace Duke.
Survivors include a son, Alan Masters and his wife, Amy, of St. Marys, GA; a brother, Paul Duke of Livingston; four sisters, Gladys Langford of Cookeville, Jean Williams of Detroit, MI, Janice Woosley of Livingston, and Blanche Fox of Boaz, AL; two grandchildren, Heather Yuill and Casey Masters; and four great grandchildren, Skylar Masters, Elizabeth Yuill, Austin Yuill, and Bryce Blakely.

Funeral services for Mrs. Rosemary (Coulson) Huddleston, 78, of Livingston, were conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday, September 22, 2004, at First United Methodist Church in Livingston.

Mrs. Huddleston died Monday, September 20 at Livingston Regional Hospital. A homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church, she taught Sunday School for several years.
Born July 9, 1926, in Putnam County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Elsie (Lemmons) Coulson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Lee Coulson Jr; and two sisters, Lena Mae Winton and Blanche Standefer.
Survivors include her husband, Alvin Huddleston of Livingston; two daughters, Sandra Curtis of Albertville, AL, and Maria Huddleston of Livingston; two sisters, Ethel Draper of Cleveland and Lillian Peach of Arrington; and three grandchildren, Charley Curtis of Albertville, Susan Curtis of Guntersville, AL, and Rebecca Curtis of Nolensville.

Mrs. Meadows died Sunday, September 19 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a retired factory worker, a homemaker, and a member of First Baptist Church.
Born May 20, 1927, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Wiley and Rosie (Thrasher) Walker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Meadows.
Survivors include her husband, James E. Meadows of Livingston; four sons, Bronnie Meadows of Livingston, Rod Meadows of Monroe, Clifton Meadows of Franklin, IN, and Donald Meadows of Trafalgar, IN; a sister, Opal Walker Nolan; 11 grandchildren; and 25 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Ramsey died Tuesday, September 21 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a retired factory worker and a member of Grace Baptist Church. She attended Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
Born April 10, 1924, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Nora (Cantrell) Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, B. Ramsey; a son, Oral Ramsey; two sisters, Woodley Copeland and Myrtle Hargis; and two brothers, Jennings Smith and Charlie D. Smith.
Survivors include two sons, Allen Ramsey and his wife, Nancy, of Rickman, and Danny Ray Barker and his wife, Peggy, of Muncie, IN; a daughter, Janie Potter of Maryville; 7 grandchildren, Gina Ramsey, Alice Holder, Bradford Holder, Robin Holder, Danny Barker Jr., Christy Barker, and Amanda Barker; and 10 great grandchildren.

JEAN MARGUERITE SMITH
Funeral services for Mrs. Jean Marguerite Smith, 89, of West Lafayette, IN, will be conducted at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, September 30, 2004, at Midway Church in Byrdstown.
Graveside services will follow at Smith Family cemetery in Byrdstown.
Mrs. Smith died Monday, September 27 at Rosewalk Village in West Lafayette. She worked for K-Mart in Lafayette for many years and retired in 1978. She was a former member of Memorial Parkway Church of Christ and graduated from West Point High School in 1934. She had lived in Pickett County for 15 years before returning to the West Lafayette area six months ago.
Born July 25, 1915, in Carroll County, IN, she was the daughter of the late Charles Elva and Marie (Parson) Peters. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Coy C. Smith; and a sister.
Survivors include two sons, Lloyd Smith of Rural Frankfort, IN, and Charles H. Smith of Livingston; three daughters, Doris Steele of Logansport, IN, Imogene Linedecker of Lebanon, IN, and Charlene Clark of West Lafayette; a sister, Virginia Tharp of Lake Placid, FL; 21 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Stanley Waymon Vaughn, 79, of Livingston, were conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 17, 2003, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Burial was in Miller cemetery with Bro. Wayne Taylor officiating.
Mr. Vaughn died Thursday, May 15 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a furniture factory worker, a member of Frogtown Church of Christ, and a veteran of the United States Army during World War II.
Born August 11, 1923, in Pickett County, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Myrtie Lee (Arney) Vaughn. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters; five brothers; a grandson, Tony Staggs; and two great grandsons, Eric Staggs and Derrick Staggs.
Survivors include his wife, Elsie Irene Vaughn of Livingston; three sons, James Vaughn of Hilham, Charles Vaughn of Monroe, and Randell Vaughn of Allons; five daughters, Kay Staggs, Carol Auberson, and Arlene Long, all of Livingston, Peggy Sullivan of Rickman, and Mary Gilpatrick of Jamestown, KY; five brothers, Ed Vaughn and Tom Vaughn, both of Livingston, and Bill Vaughn, Bob Vaughn, and Ken Vaughn, all of Hilham; 22 grandchildren; and 33 great grandchildren.

Born August 7, 1944, in Overton County, she was the daughter of Georgia Leigh (Hammock) Stewart and the late William Canada Stewart.
Survivors, in addition to her mother, include her husband, Alvin Eugene Walker of Rickman; a son, Chad Allen Walker of Cookeville; a daughter, Lisa Cowan of Sumter, SC; a sister, Ann Gaw of Rickman; and two grandchildren.
