ALBERT GORDEN "ABB" CONNER
Funeral services for Mr. Albert Gorden "Abb" Conner, 83, of Byrdstown, were conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 1, 2003, from the chapel of Brown Funeral Chapel in Byrdstown. Burial was in Lovelady-Sims cemetery with Bro. Ricky Cross officiating.
Mr. Conner died Monday, April 28 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a member of Wolf River Baptist Church. He was also a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the 100th Division, and a member of Disabled Veterans Association.
Born March 4, 1920, in Pickett County, he was the son of the late James Lorenzo "J.L." and Mary Clementine (Cross) Conner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, William T. Conner and Granville Conner; three sisters, Bonnie Tompkins, Nora Conner, and Minnie (Conner) Arney; and two great grandchildren, Nathaniel Farr and Dylan Stewart.
Survivors include his wife, Aletha (Huddleston) Conner of Byrdstown; five daughters, Rosie Roger and husband, Mike, of Albany, KY, Leta Gatlin and husband, Bob, of Ft. Myers Beach, FL, Lily Greene and husband, Steve, of Baltimore, MD, Julia Wright and husband, Frank, of Livingston, and Mary Busby and husband, Tony, of Warner Robins, GA; two sons, James Conner and wife, Becky, of Lake Elsinore, CA, and Elbert "Chico" Conner and wife, Tamie, of Monroe; 19 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.
Pallbearers were Christopher Rogers, Brad Wright, Chris Busby, Scott Busby, James Daniel, Jeremy Conner, Michael Neal, and Kevin Neal.

BILL COLEMAN
Funeral services for Mr. Bill Coleman, 88, of Livingston, were conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday, February 19, 2004, at the First Christian Church. Masonic rites were preformed at graveside.
Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens with Dr. David Moore and Rev. Dee Ledford officiating.
Mr. Coleman died Tuesday, February 17 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was the owner and manager of Livingston Limestone and a member of First Christian Church. He was also a member of Livingston Masonic Lodge, Al Menah Shriners, and a past member of Tennessee Crushed Stone Association.
Born March 31, 1915, in Clay County, he was the son of the late John Dudley and Mary Etta (Maynard) Coleman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Ardean (Keisling) Coleman and Elizabeth M. (Keefe) Coleman; and four brothers, Chester Coleman, Ed Coleman, Minor Coleman, and J.D. Coleman.
Survivors include two sons, Johnny Coleman and Jimmy Coleman, both of Livingston; a daughter, Betty (Coleman) Ledbetter of Livingston; three step-children, Ken Stephens Jr. of Crossville, and Sue Winningham and Barbara Buckner, both of Tullahoma; a sister, Nell Norris of Old Hickory; 10 grandchildren, John Kelly Coleman, Candy Coleman Griffith, Tammy Stocking, Christie Kelley, Patty Dale, Krystal Rose, Gina Shaver, Jay Coleman, David W. Ledbetter Jr., and Rex Dale; and 12 great grandchildren.
Mr. Coleman's grandchildren served as pallbearers.

JAMES ELMER GOODPASTURE
Funeral services for Mr. James Elmer Goodpasture, 90, of the Flatt Creek Community, were conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 17, 2004, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.
Burial was in Flatt Creek cemetery with Bro. Malcolm Hill officiating.
Mr. Goodpasture died Sunday, February 15 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a factory worker, a farmer, and a United States Army veteran of World War II. He was of the Church of Christ faith.
Born December 19, 1913, in Overton County, he was the son of the late James Thomas and Mary Elizabeth (Masters) Goodpasture. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Florence Smith, Ova Bilyeu, Winnie Allred, and Dora Lynn; and two brothers, Will Goodpasture and Owen Goodpasture.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Leafie Goodpasture of Livingston; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Jamie Goodpasture, Damon Goodpasture, Jared Goodpasture, Steven Goodpasture, Brad Goodpasture, and Andy Crabtree.

RODNEY NOEL GUNNELS
Funeral services for Mr. Rodney Noel Gunnels, 74, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 19, 2004, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.
Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens with Rev. Donald Cobb officiating.
Mr. Gunnels died Tuesday, February 17 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was an auto body repairman, a veteran of the United States Army, and a member of First Baptist Church.
Born January 25, 1930, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Posie Warren and Bonzie (Williams) Gunnels. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Rudolph Gunnels; and a sister, Muriel Ramsey.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Gunnels of Livingston; two sons, Jeff Gunnels and Jimmy Gunnels, both of Livingston; three step-children, Debbie Dixon of Athens, OH, and Don Dixon and David Dixon, both of Livingston; a sister, Fern Bilbrey of Livingston; 10 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.

ELBERT HARRIS
Sr. Funeral services for Mr. Elbert Harris Sr., 93, of Brush Creek, were conducted Friday, February 20, 2004, from the chapel of Bass Funeral Home in Gordonsville.
Burial was in Oakley cemetery with Bro. Matt Long officiating.
Mr. Harris died Thursday, February 19 at Carthage General Hospital. A resident of the Brush Creek Community since the early 1950s, he was a farmer and attended Brush Creek United Methodist Church.
Born July 12, 1910, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Beckie Jane Walker and John Harris. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Girlie May Honeycutt; two sisters, Mary Harris and Nancy Jane Dixon; and three brothers, Ferlie Harris, Barry Harris, and Luther Harris.
Survivors include three daughters, Sallie Wilson and her husband, Bud, of Brush Creek, Fannie Howard and her husband, Chester, of Deer Lodge, and Bessie Sells and her husband, Moose, of Jamestown; two sons, Elbert Harris Jr. of South Carthage, and Willie Allen Harris and his wife, Belinda, of Baxter; and a brother, Tommy Harris of Carthage.

Funeral services for Mr. Billy Joe Neal, 51, of Springfield, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 21, 2004, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home.

Mr. Neal died Wednesday, February 18 at North Crest Hospital in Springfield. He was a maintenance foreman at Wiley Steel Company in Springfield.
Born January 24, 1953, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Clyde and Della (Allred) Neal. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, John Lewis Neal, Carl Douglas Neal, and Robert Neal; and a sister, Collen Culver.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda (Batey) Neal of Springfield; a daughter, Stacey Jo Neal of Springfield; three sisters, Judy Boles and Mary Ann Lawson, both of Livingston, and Betty Ware of Cookeville; four brothers, Willie D. Neal of Lebanon, Lois Neal and Terry Neal, both of Livingston, and Dickie Neal of Moss; a granddaughter, Kristin Jiminez of Springfield; and nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Reeder died Friday, February 20 at Alexandria Care Center. She was a housewife and a member of Columbus Avenue Church of Christ.
Born September 6, 1907, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late J.T. and Byrd (Heard) Harvey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Walter Reeder; a son, James B. Reeder; three brothers, Edward Harvey, Grady Harvey, and Onas Harvey; two sisters, Pearl Clark and Lola Taylor; and a grandson, Skippy Smith.
Survivors include two sons, Delphis Reeder of Nashville and Harold Reeder and his wife, Mary, of Celina; two daughters, Virginia Stover of Anderson, IN, and Dean Hibbs of Allons; a brother, Roy Harvey of the Taylor's Crossroads Community of Overton County; 19 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. German died Thursday, May 1 at Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Lexington, KY.
Born November 27, 1914, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late I.E. and Martha (Hargis) Handy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Christopher C. German; two daughters, Lois Loraine German and Betty June Williams; three sisters, Susie Neal, Alice Weber, and Erna Ledbetter; six brothers, Lee Handy, Vince Handy, Woodrow Handy, Jim Handy, Walter Handy, and Donald Handy; and a grandson, Charles "Chuck" German.
Survivors include two sons, Rev. Billy R. German of St. Augustine and Glenn E. German of Midlothian, VA; a son-in-law, Charles Williams; two sisters, Myrtle Florea of Warren, MI, and Ola Hazelett of Chicago, IL; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Mrs. Leffew died Monday, April 28 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a factory worker and a member of Freedonia Community Church. She also attended Christ Chapel Church.
Born August 5, 1934, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late M.C. and Allie May (Evans) Wilson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charlie E. Wilson.
Survivors include her husband, Dawson Leffew of Livingston; a daughter and a son-in-law, Shelia Padgett King and husband, Larry E., of Rickman; a step-son, James Lee Leffew and wife, Lisa, of Livingston; a sister, Ruby Ann Barnes of Livingston; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; special nephews, Jackie Wilson and Jerry Wilson; special cousins, Nannie Mae Ledford and Wilma York, both of Livingston; special friends, Mildred Sullivan and Lorriane Vaughn, both of Livingston; and other cousins and family.

CLARA BELL (LEE) MABERRY
Funeral services for Mrs. Clara Bell (Lee) Maberry, 78, of Putnam County, will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, May 7, 2003, from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home in Cookeville. Burial will be in West Cemetery, in the Fairview Community with Bro. Harlon Johnson officiating.
Mrs. Maberry died Sunday, May 4 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Double Springs Baptist Church. She lived most of her life in the Roaring River Community of Jackson and Overton counties before moving to Putnam county with her husband in 1987.
Born November 28, 1924, in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Millard Filmore and Laura Threecy (Gentry) Lee. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Arnold Maberry; a son, Kennith Earl Maberry; a sister, Ora Mae Chaffin; and three brothers, Roy Lee, Howard Lee, and Garrett Lee.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley Rose Rodgers and husband, Philip R., and Evelyn Joyce Owens and husband, Johnny, all of Cookeville; a sister, Arvilla Carlile of Cookeville; two brothers, Arvis Lee and Carson Lee, both of Cookeville; three grandchildren, Steven Andrew Rodgers and wife, Erin, of East Point, GA, Gewaine Arlen Long, and Yolande Shannay (Long) Griffin and husband, Scott, of Cookeville; two step-grandchildren, Philip R. Funeral services for Mr. Harley McDaniel, 74, of Rickman, will be conducted at 10 a.m. today, Wednesday, May 7, 2003, from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home in Monterey. Burial will be in Woodcliff cemetery with Rev. Tony Barnett officiating.
Mr. McDaniel died Saturday, May 3 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a member of Monterey First Freewill Baptist Church and a Gunners Mate Missile Chief Instructor in the United States Navy. After his retirement from the U.S. Navy, he worked with General Motors in Detroit, MI and retired after more than 20 years of service. He was a VFW member at large, a member of Masonic Lodge 751 in Monterey, Monterey Order of Eastern Star Chapter, the Moslem Temple in Detroit, MI, and the Scottish Rite-Detroit Valley of Detroit.
Born October 16, 1928, in Monterey, he was the son of the late James Arthur and Bonnie Jean (Barnwell) McDaniel.
Survivors include two daughters, Gloria Davis of Pensacola, FL, and Linda Small of Cantonment, FL; and two sons, John McDaniel of Fredericksburg, VA, and James McDaniel of Muskegon, FL.
