Funeral services for Mrs. Roberta Odell Curtis, 83, of Cookeville, were conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 13, 2003, from the chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Burial was in Algood City cemetery with Rev. Larry Self Sr. officiating.
Mrs. Curtis died Friday, April 11 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was a retired seamstress with Cookeville Shirt Factory and of the Baptist faith.
Born July 27, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Byrd and Cora (Bilbrey) Gore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paskell Curtis; an infant daughter, Marie; and four brothers.
Survivors include four daughters, Virginia Poston and Frances Price, both of Algood, Marcella Hawkins of Cookeville, and Betty Jo Hall of Bloomington Springs; a brother, Horace Gore of Carthage; a sister, Birdie Jackson of Livingston; eight grandchildren, Michael Poston, David Price, Shannon Price-Herron, Joshua Hawkins, Samantha Hawkins, Michelle Self, Amy Gentry, and Shelia Davis; and eight great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Mark Herron, Larry Self Jr., Jimmy Robinson, Billy Davis, Mike Sullivan, Tommy Rooker, and Eddy Gentry.

JERRY BRUCE MAYNORD
Funeral services for Mr. Jerry Bruce Maynord, 51, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2003, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home. Burial was in Hunter-Cove cemetery with Bro. Aron Dillon officiating.
Mr. Maynord died Thursday, April 10 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a farmer and of the Baptist faith.
Born January 11, 1952, in Overton County, he was the son of Void and Thelma (Bilbrey) Maynord of Livingston. He was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Maynord; and two brothers, Roger Maynord and infant Kenneth Maynord.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include a daughter, Michelle Huff and husband, Brad, of Clarksville; a son, Adam Maynord and special friend, Heather Boswell, both of Livingston; a sister, Jonesetta Johnson of Livingston; two brothers, Larry Maynord and Durell Maynord, both of Livingston; two grandchildren; and a very special friend, Pansy Brown of Livingston. Pallbearers were David Cole, Doug Maynord, Barry Johnson, Rick Bowman, Eric Dillon, and Mitch Williams.

VIOLET (SHAVER) QUALLS
Funeral services for Mrs. Violet (Shaver) Qualls, 81, of Spring Creek in Cookeville, were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 10, 2003, from the chapel of Rickman-Hall Funeral Home. Burial was in Algood City cemetery with Billy Ray Matheney officiating.
Mrs. Qualls died Monday, April 7 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
Born December 10, 1921, in Brotherton, she was the daughter of the late Mitchell J. and Ada T. (Hancock) Shaver. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Horace Shaver.
Survivors include her husband, Haskell "Hack" Qualls of Cookeville; three sisters, Bertha Gragg of Cookeville, Cleo Southland of Yorktown, IN, and Lucille Ferrill of Livingston; a brother, Orley Shaver of Warner Robins, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Pallbearers were Joe West, Raymond Tallent, Donnie Southland, Bill Barnes, Ed Shaver, Robert Cooper, and Daryl Cooper.

EFFIE COLEMAN
Funeral services for Mrs. Effie Coleman, 75, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 9, 2003, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home.
Burial was in Falling Springs cemetery with Bro. Eugene McCowan officiating.
Mrs. Coleman died Sunday, September 7 at Overton County Nursing Home. She was a housewife and a member of First Freewill Baptist Church in Livingston.
Born September 16, 1927, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Cordell and Dewey (Cooper) Hargis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ernest Hargis and Jay Hargis; two sisters, Hester Murphy and Josephine Hargis; and her first husband, Robert Murphy.
Survivors include three daughters, Ruby Leslie and her husband, Keith, of Livingston, Sue Ledbetter and her husband, Glenn, of Allred, and Linda Olmsread of Jamestown; two sons, Freddy Murphy and his wife, Michelle, of Allred, and Richard Murphy and his wife, Gail, of Livingston; 11 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Greg Phillips, James Murphy, Darren Murphy, Roger Hargis, Junior Hargis, and Anthony Murphy.

Funeral services for Mr. Shane England, 30, of Crossville, were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, September 12, 2003, at Mt. Union Missionary Baptist Church in Clarkrange.
Burial was in Campground cemetery in Clarkrange, with Rev. Ronnie Swallows and Johnny Bertram officiating.
Mr. England died Monday, September 8 in Cookeville. He was a contruction worker.
Born March 28, 1973, in Portland, IN, he was the son of Rev. Billy and Betty Louise (Brown) England of Crossville. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rev. Clayton Olmus and Flossie Mae England; and a nephew, Brandon Noel England.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include two children, Matthew England and Megan England, both of Cookeville; maternal grandparents, Virgle and Hessie Brown of Greenfield, IN; five brothers, Kemmy Joe England and Jamie Noel England, both of Crossville, Clayton Jimmy England and Richard Paul England, both of Indianapolis, IN, and Troy Dewayne England of Crawford; 15 nephews and nieces; 7 aunts and uncles; and 2 special friends, William Burks and Tracy Burks.

DONALD EDWARD GREENWOOD
Funeral services for Mr. Donald Edward Greenwood, 54, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 11, 2003, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home.

Mr. Greenwood died Tuesday, September 9 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a carpenter and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era.
Born January 14, 1949, in Overton County, he was the son of Clovis Greenwood of Hilham and the late Christine (Fletcher) Greenwood Thurman.
Survivors, in addition to his father, include his wife, Betty (Matheney) Greenwood of Livingston; two daughters, Donna (Greenwood) Reagan of Old Hickory and Erica Greenwood of Cookeville; a son, Tyler Greenwood of Livingston; five sisters, Zora Boswell of Cookeville, Linda Winton of Alpine, Sandy Calfee of Rickman, Shelia Ramsey of Livingston, and Wendy Stainbrook of Hilham; and a granddaughter, Tierra Ralston.

Funeral services for Mrs. Pearl Dennis, 87, of Monroe, were conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 4, 2003, at Kingdom Hall Jehovah's Witness in Livingston.

Mrs. Dennis died Friday, Aug. 1 in Cadiz, KY. She was a housewife and of the Jehovah's Witness faith.
Born September 8, 1915, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Althea (Zachary) Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Porter Dennis; and a daughter, Margie Kay Dennis.
Survivors include two sons, Johnnie Dennis of Cadiz and Tommy Dennis of Indianapolis, IN; seven daughters, Margaret Colson of Livingston, Betty Jouett of Monroe, Julie Maggart of Rock Island, Patsy Post of Nixa, MO, and Vonnie Jean Gore, June Barlow, and Joyce Hayes, all of Cadiz; a brother, Harris Johnson of Red Boiling Springs; a sister, Alice Wallace of Hoopston, IL; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.

Born January 9, 1952, in Davidson County, she was the daughter of Ruby (Eldridge) Greenwood of Hilham and the late J.P. Greenwood.
Survivors, in addition to her mother, include a daughter, Melissa Jackson and husband, Jody, of Hilham; two sisters, Judy Ledbetter and husband, Daryl, of Hilham and Reba Joyce Long of Livingston; four grandchildren; her fiance, Billy Ray Dickerson of Hilham; and cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Mrs. Groce died Thursday, July 31 in Upland, IN. She was a housewife and affiliated with Livingston Church of Christ.
Born March 16, 1921, in Clay County, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Dolly (Thrasher) Stover. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Luke Groce; and six brothers and sisters, Ray Stover, Bethel Hogan, Ethel Gunnels, Robert Stover, Bertie Stover, and James Stover.
Survivors include a son, Donald Groce of Livingston; a daughter, Susie Roberts of Marion, IN; five sisters, Velma Daniels of Allons, Lennie Riddle and Arvella Thrasher, both of Albany, KY, Mae Wallace of Sparta, and Eudean Colson of Livingston; three grandchildren, Jerry Roberts, Lisa Elliot, and Shellie Savage; and eight great grandchildren, Derek Roberts, Heather Clark, Dana Roberts, James Roberts, Logan Herron, Donovan Elliott, Luke Elliott, and Taylor Savage.

Mrs. Hawkins died Sunday, July 13 at Mabry Health Care and Rehab Center in Gainesboro. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.
Born April 12, 1916, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Polly Ann (Riley) Steward. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Jasper Hawkins; five brothers, Millard Steward, Henry Steward, George Steward, Kirk Steward, and Oliver Steward; and two sisters, Bonnie Brewer and Gladys Coffee.
Survivors include a son, Howard Hawkins and wife, Kaye, of Hilham; a sister, Lassie Gaw of Cookeville; two special nephews, Odell Steward of Gainesboro and Winel Steward of Wartburg; a special niece, Sue Gore of Livingston; two grandchildren, Eric Hawkins of Hilham and Shawn Hawkins of Nashville; a step-grandchild, Brian Smith of Byrdstown; a great granddaughter, Chelsie Smith of Hilham; two step-great grandsons, Tony Poore and Bill Storie, both of Byrdstown.

Mr. Bullock died Saturday, August 28 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was a logger, a sawmill worker, and an avid raccoon and squirrel hunter.
Born December 19, 1924, in Clay County, he was the son of the late Jim and Lola (Melton) Bullock. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Idell Conner and Elizabeth Sells; a brother, Tom Bullock; and two grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Joyce (Daniels) Bullock of Monroe; two daughters, Loretta Crouch of Rickman and Diane Blankenship of Allons; two sons, James Audrain Bullock of Hanging Limb and Marvin Lee Bullock of Livingston; three sisters, Ruby Daniels of Livingston, Madean Bullock of Harper City, IN, and Eula Finley of Sparta; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.
