JOHN D. MURPHY
Funeral services for Mr. John D. Murphy, 68, of Cookeville, will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2003, from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home.
Burial will be in West Cemetery, in the Fairview Community, with Bro. Dewey Glenn Masters and Bro. Harold Walker officiating.
Mr. Murphy died Monday, Aug. 4 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He worked with the Overton County Highway Department and was a member of Duncan's Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.
Born March 21, 1935, in Overton County, he was the son of Mary Ila (Ray) Murphy of Cookeville and the late Virgil Reese Murphy. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James C. Murphy and Tommy Murphy; and a sister, Betty Sue Murphy.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Sarah Sally (Smith) Murphy of Cookeville; a son, Johnny Murphy and wife, Vonette, of Doyle; two daughters, Jenny Phipps of Cookeville and Lessa Hayes of Overton County; a brother, Paul Murphy and wife, Frances, of Cookeville; three sisters, Evelyn Hand of Clarksville, Ellen McGugin of Cookeville; and Elizabeth McKinley and husband, Patrick, of San Antonio, TX; five grandchildren, Brice Murphy, Lucas Murphy, Jesse Phipps, Jamie Phipps, and Charity Hayes; and a great grandchild, Haley Morgan Murphy.
Pallbearers were Brice Murphy, Lucas Murphy, Jesse Phipps, Jamie Phipps, Jimmie Ray Murphy, Harry T. McGugin, J.R. Hand, and Mark Hayes.

HELEN GRACE (WRIGHT) COKER
Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Grace (Wright) Coker, 78, of Cookeville, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, 2003, from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home of Cookeville.
Burial, with full military honors by the Veterans Honor Guard, will be in Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens with Bro. Hillier Duke officiating.
Mrs. Dailey died Saturday, Aug. 9 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She retired from Mallory Timers, was a seamstress, loved working with flowers, and enjoyed caring for her family. She was a veteran of United States Army and a three-time Gold Medalist in the Senior Citizen's Bowling Division.
Born October 25, 1924, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Julian C. and Rochie (Ramsey) Wright. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Frances Wright and Betty Jean Wright; and a grandson, Joseph Dale Johnson.
Survivors include her husband, Virgil Allen Coker of Cookeville; a daughter, Mary Helen Prall and husband, Frank, of Virginia Beach, VA; four brothers, Porter Wright and Thomas Wright, both of Cookeville, Jessie Wright of Gainesboro, and Charles Wright of Sparta; six sisters, Anna Wright and Billie Higgenbotham, both of Cookeville, Janice Wright of Nashville, Glynda Sue Greene and Maxine Prewitt, both of West Lake, OH, and Shirley Smith of Seattle, WA; three grandchildren, Cory Allen Johnson, Samuel Colby Johnson, and Dustin Anthony Johnson; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Corey Allen Johnson, Steve Wright, John Wright, Shane Higgenbotham, Chuck Wright, and Jerry Williams.
Serving as honorary pallbearers were Michael Wright, Colby Johnson, Dusty Johnson, and Mrs. Coker's brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and sons-in-law.

BRENDA LOU ABSTON
Funeral services for Mrs. Brenda Lou Abston, 47, of Wilder, were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, June 14, 2004, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.
Burial was in Phillips cemetery with Bro. Robbie Miller and Bro. Greg Jenkins officiating.
Mrs. Abston died Friday, June 11 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a cook at Standing Stone Health Care in Monterey and a member of Twinton Freewill Baptist Church.
Born March 8, 1957, in Putnam County, she was the daughter of Farley and Evelyn (Roberts) Hodge of Twinton. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Abston; and a daughter, Heather Abston.
Survivors, in addition to her parents, include a daughter, Tracy Smith of the Twinton Community; two brothers, Carl Hodge and Willie Hodge, both of Twinton; three sisters, Shelby Bilyeu, Linda Bennett, and Marie Hammons, all of Hilham; and special friends, Bruce Bumbalough and Nokie Foster.

FLORENCE FORD
Funeral services for Mrs. Florence Ford, 66, of Cookeville, were conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 15, 2004, from the Rickman Chapel of Speck Funeral Home.
Burial was in Honey Springs cemetery with Bro. Roger Cooper officiating.
Mrs. Ford died Thursday, July 13 at Standing Stone Health Care in Monterey. She was a homemaker and of the Catholic faith.
Born May 18, 1938, in Jersey City, NJ, she was the daughter of the late John and Veronica Krzykalski. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Ford.
Survivors include a son, Carl Ford and his wife, Glenda, of Rickman; her twin sister, Henrietta Kryscio of Cookeville; three other sisters; a brother; and two granddaughters, Virginia Ford and Montana Ford.
Pallbearers were Jason Kryscio, John Kryscio, Roger Pryor, Donnie Pryor, and Jack Gsell.

ODELL MOODY
Funeral services for Mr. Odell Moody, 84, of Cookeville, will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, July 21, 2004, from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home in Cookeville.
Burial will be in Poplar Springs cemetery with Bro. Dewey Glenn Masters and Bro. Earl Williams officiating.
Mr. Moody died Monday, July 19 at Bethesda Healthcare in Cookeville. He was a retired truck driver with Whitson Planning Mills and attended HardyÕs Chapel Church for many years.
Born December 23, 1919, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Birch and Osie Jane (Lawson) Moody. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert F. "Bob" Moody, who was the 4th remaining Civil War Confederate soldier living at the time of his death; four brothers, Clarence Moody, Lanny Moody, Sam Moody, and Albert Moody; three sisters, Clara Gentry, Dera Dodson, and Ula Williams; an infant sister, Vallie Moody; and two sons-in-law, Charles Sullivan and Bob Williams.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Allie (Williams) Moody of Cookeville; two daughters, Wanda Sullivan and June Hood and her husband, John, all of Cookeville; four grandchildren, Sherri Lytal and her husband, Scott, Greg Sullivan and his wife, Ginny, Monica Cason and her husband, Willie, and Brandon Hood; three great grandchildren, Justin Lytal, Loren Lytal, and Courtney Howell Sullivan; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Bill Davis, Gary Reid, Joe Moody, Glen Moody, Herman Moody, and Donald Moody.

ROSCO MURPHY
Funeral services for Mr. Rosco Murphy, 83, of the Green Pond Community in Overton County, were conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 15, 2004, at Green Pond Church.
Burial was in Love Joy cemetery with Rev. Mark Masters Jr. officiating.
Mr. Murphy died Monday, July 12 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a retired coal miner with more than 30 years service and was of the Baptist faith.
Born February 26, 1921, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Ambrose and Ollie (House) Murphy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Luenola (Hargis) Murphy.
Survivors include his wife, Lillie Lambert Murphy of the Green Pond Community; a daughter, Merita Wilson of the Green Pond Community; two sons, Rev. Glen Murphy of the Green Pond Community and Rev. Arnold Murphy of the Vines Ridge Community; two sisters, Roxie Hoover of Hanging Limb and Flora Hargis of Crossville; five grandchildren; and a great grandchild.

ROBERT HOWARD CRABTREE
Funeral services for Mr. Robert Howard Crabtree, 59, of Monroe, were conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2004, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.
Burial was in Green Hill cemetery with Bro. Robert Wright officiating.
Mr. Crabtree died Sunday, July 18 at Livingston Regional Hospital. A U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, he worked in building construction and was a member of Oak Dale Baptist Church and the VFW.
Born May 23, 1945, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Leslie Marvin and Martha Francis (Roberts) Crabtree. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David Crabtree.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Crabtree of Monroe; a son, Jamie Crabtree of Monroe; a daughter, Nancy Hill of Monroe; a brother, Marvin Crabtree of Livingston; a sister, Joyce Calender of Ohio; two grandchildren, Dawson Crabtree and Daniel Hill; a niece; and two nephews.
Pallbearers were Danny Maynord, George Sells, Gerald Ferrell, Roger Hargis, Tony Rounds, and Brian Chilton.

CLEATIS "RAY" KEISLING
Memorial services for Mr. Cleatis "Ray" Keisling, 71, of Liberty, MO, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 31, 2004, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Martin cemetery in Allons with Bro. Bobby Gore officiating.
Mr. Keisling died Monday, July 19 at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, MO, following an extended illness. He had a lifelong career in the photographic industry. He had an avid interest in growing irises, and, following his retirement, grew thousands of irises on his four acres in Liberty.
He attended Independence Elementary School and was a 1953 graduate of Livingston Academy. After his honorable discharge from the Army in 1955, he attended Tennessee Tech. After leaving Overton County in 1956, he lived in Memphis, OH, and Michigan before moving to Missouri in 1984.
Born June 22, 1933, in Pickett County, he was the son of the late Bethel Ray and Roxie (Conner) Keisling.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Judy (Crainer) Keisling of Liberty; two sons, Donald Ray Keisling of Roanoke Rapids, NC, and Kenneth Michael Keisling of Geneva, IL; three daughters, Elizabeth Denice Lupcke of Smyrna, GA, Pamela Louise Billings of Lee's Summit, MO, and Suzanne Marie Keisling of Kansas City; three brothers, Dale Keisling of Allons, Jerry Keisling of Safety Harbor, FL, and Harold Keisling of Cookeville; a sister, Janice Keisling Linck of Tulsa, OK; and 11 grandchildren.

Mr. McCowan died Wednesday, July 21 at his home. Retired from Indiana Glass, he was a member of Standing Stone Church of Christ.
Born February 21, 1933, in Overton County, he was the son of Lee Verdon (Vaughn) McCowan of Monterey and the late Rev. Willie M. McCowan.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Beverly (Young) McCowan of Monterey; a son, Steven McCowan of Monterey; two daughters, Stephanie Stamps and her husband, Randy, and Tracy Pettit and her husband, John, all of Monterey; four brothers, Rev. THELMA JEAN PIGG

Mrs. Pigg died Wednesday, July 21 at her home. She was a retired factory worker of Botany Shirt Factory and KMA Manufacturing and a member of Holly Springs Church of Christ.
Born August 8, 1931, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Ova (Gibbons) Bennett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arvin L. Pigg; a daughter, Joyce Barlow; and two nephews, Keith Hammock and Barry Bennett.
Survivors include six sons, Kenny Pigg, Frank Pigg, David Pigg, Donald Pigg, and Jerry Pigg, all of Hilham, and Clifton Pigg of Livingston; two daughters, Elaine Daniels of Monroe and Pam Huddleston of Colorado Springs, CO; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a special friend, Jean Byrd of Jamestown; and a special nephew, Lannie Bennett of Bethpage.
