NORMA JEAN DAVIS
Funeral services for Mrs. Norma Jean Davis, 69, of Rickman, were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2003, from the chapel of Rickman-Hall Funeral Home.
Burial was in Okolona Chapel cemetery with Ed Todd officiating. Mrs. Davis died Sunday, July 27 at her son's home.
Born June 6, 1934, she was the daughter of Veachel (Brady) Poston of Ohio, formerly of Rickman, and the late Harlen "Speedy" Poston. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Doyle Poston.
Survivors, in addition to her mother, include three sons, Pastor Gary Davis of Rickman, and Scott Davis and Kurt Davis, both of Florida; a sister, Charlene Bargo of Ohio; a brother, Arnold Poston of Ohio; eight grandchildren, Kodey Davis, Kyler Davis, Kelli Davis, Kenny Davis, Heather Davis, Carrie Davis, Amanda Davis, and Jessica Davis; and a host of nephews, nieces, and friends.
Pallbearers were Randy Prichard, Ricky Dodson, Keith Bass, Tim Hite, and Eugene Gilliam.

ESTA LOU DENNIS
Funeral services for Mrs. Esta Lou Dennis, 90, of Rickman, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 3, 2003, from the chapel of Rickman-Hall Funeral Home.
Burial was in Paran cemetery with Bro. Bobby Roberts and Bro. Eugene McCowan officiating.
Mrs. Dennis died Thursday, Aug. 7 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a member of Rickman First Freewill Baptist Church.
Born August 10, 1912, in the Highland Community of Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Bob and Maggie Dee (Bilbrey) Finley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bob B. Dennis.
Survivors include a son, Robert Alton Dennis and wife, Reba, of Rickman; a daughter, Lorene Qualls of Rickman; a sister, Teola Pryor of Cookeville; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were John Halsell, David Pennington, Norman Carter, Frankie Bledsoe, Mike Clark, and Doug Hinson.
Serving as honorary pallbearers were Willis "Shorty" Wilson and Parnell Wright.

OVALINE (DISHMAN) FERRELL
Funeral services for Mrs. Ovaline (Dishman) Ferrell, 77, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 24, 2003, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home.
Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens with Bro. Nolen Cantrell officiating.
Mrs. Ferrell died Thursday, August 21 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a housewife and of the Baptist faith.
Born May 2, 1926, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Mary Lizzie (Ledbetter) Dishman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Ward Ferrell; a son, James Ward Ferrell; two sisters, Joyce Arney and Earslie Brown; and three brothers, Kenneth Dishman, Roy Dishman, and Hershel Dishman
Survivors include four daughters, Patsy Hawkins and her husband, Lawrence, of Livingston, Joyce Buck and her husband, Steve, of Anderson, IN, Janet Harper and her husband, William, of Cookeville, and Lisa Daniels and her husband, Jim, of Rickman; two sons, Ricky Ferrell and his wife, Debbie, of Rickman and David Ferrell and his wife, Tonya, of Allons; two brothers, Clyde Dishman and Ray Dishman, both of Livingston; 10 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Pallbearers were Bob Reeder, Billy Reeder, Terry Coleman, Ronald Coleman, Baxter Hughes, and Billy Harper.

CARL GARRETT
Mr. Carl Garrett, 90, of Crawford, died Saturday, August 30, 2003 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
He was a sheet metal worker, a welder, and a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 435 in Jacksonville, FL.
Born January 10, 1913, in Crawford, he was the son of the late Benjamin Franklin and Sara (Wallace) Garrett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude Garrett.
Survivors include two daughters, Suzanne K. Garrett of Jacksonville, FL, and Dana L. Malis of Marietta, GA; a son, Richard C. Garrett of Ruskin, FL; two sisters, Frances Prill and Beadie Teeples, both of Battle Creek, MI; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild.
The family has chosen cremation and no services are planned at this time.
Memorials may be given to the American Lung Association.

ALBERT L. BROWN
Funeral services for Mr. Albert L. Brown, 82, of Hilham, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 6, 2003, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.
Burial was in Campground cemetery with Bro. Perry Allen and Bro. A.J. Cooper officiating.
Mr. Brown died Thursday, September 4 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a retired self-employed carpenter and farmer and a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church at Campground. He was a veteran of the United States Army during World War II and a member of the American Legion.
Born March 24, 1921, in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Samuel "Fate" Lafayette and Sarah Amelia "Sally" (Masters) Brown. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Inez Smith, Verdie Barlow, and Eva Rogers; two brothers, Lester Brown and Robert Marion Brown; and a grandson, Samuel T.L. Brown.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Brown of Hilham; two sons, Albert Jerry Brown and his wife, Nola, of Gallatin and Danny T. Brown and his wife, Sophia, of Blairsville, GA; three sisters, Ella Mae Bilbrey and Velma Hood, both of Livingston, and Thelma Bartlett of Roseville, MI; five grandchildren, Denise Richards, Teresa Brown, Andrea Brown, Travis Brown, and Alexis Brown; and two great grandchildren, Hannah Plant and Egan Romero.
Pallbearers were Johnny Brown, James Brown, Carl Barlow, Ray Barlow, Ricky Boles, and Travis Brown.
Serving as honorary pallbearers were Charles Smith, Buford Allen, Egan Romero, Scott Richards, Bill Lindsay, and Gerald Willeford.

JOHNNY ROCKY CARR
Funeral services for Mr. Johnny Rocky Carr, 49, of Anderson, IN, were conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 10, 2004, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home.
Burial was in Okolona cemetery with Bro. Aron Dillon officiating.
Mr. Carr died Tuesday, January 6 at Winona Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. He was a painter and was affliated with the Assembly of God Church in Indiana.
Born March 1, 1954, in Anderson, he was the son of Zona Lee (Walker) Carr of Monroe and the late William Ernest Carr. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Lee Carr; and a sister, Judy Carr.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include three sons, Jason Boyd of Anderson, Rocky Jacob Carr and Jamin Lee Carr, both of Livingston; two sisters, Jolene Hagens of Monroe and Janifer Ellis of Auburndale, FL; three brothers, Jack D. Carr of Alpine, James Wayne Carr of Anderson, and Jerry D. Carr of Rickman; five grandchildren, Ericka Boyd, Sabrina Boyd, Jacob Carr, Preston Carr, and Aliyah Carr; and his fiancee, Glennetta J. Boyd.

Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Sue Daily, 56, of Livingston, were conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, January 9, 2004, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.

Mrs. Daily died Tuesday, January 6 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of Memorial Baptist Church.
Born March 31, 1947, in Overton County, she was the daughter of Reba Lee (Cravens) Auberson Johnson of Livingston and the late Tony Bryan Auberson. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Wayne Johnson.
Survivors, in addition to her mother, include a daughter, Michelle Burgess and her husband, Greg, of Hilham; a brother, Bruce Auberson of Livingston; a sister, Gail Auberson of Cookeville; five grandchildren, Chrystal Burgess, Beth Burgess, Tiffany Burgess, Michael Burgess, and Thomas Burgess; a nephew, Michael Auberson; and a niece, Regina Ray.

JAMES W. HAWKINS
Funeral services for Mr. James W. Hawkins, 68, of Anderson, IN, and formerly of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 11, 2004, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.
Burial was in Walnut Grove cemetery with Bro. Aron Dillon officiating.
Mr. Hawkins died Wednesday, January 7 in Anderson. He was a security guard and a veteran of the United States Army.
Born August 30, 1935, in Overton County, he was the son of the late William Trueman and Lola Savannah (Coffman) Hawkins.
Survivors include two brothers, Bobby Hawkins and Ronald Hawkins, both of Livingston; and five sisters, Maxine Ramsey, Mary Dodson, Ina Ledbetter, and Brenda Massengille, all of Livingston, and Thelma Sullivan of Rickman.
Pallbearers were Dale Sullivan, Darrell Ledbetter, Waylon Ledbetter, Terry Lindsey, Daniel Sullivan, Dallas L. Sullivan, Jason Lindsey, and Kevin Scott.

HARRISON KENDRICK CLARK
Funeral services for Mr. Harrison Kendrick Clark, 87, of Sparta, were conducted at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 12, 2004, from the chapel of Hunter Funeral Home in Sparta.
Burial was in Highland cemetery with Doug Benningfield and Doug Downs officiating.
Mr. Clark died Monday, May 10 at his home. He worked with Middle Tennessee Natural Gas.
Born October 7, 1916, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Bennie Chatten and Maggie Stella (Maynord) Clark. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Cybil (Hawkins) Clark.
Survivors include a son, Ben Clark and his wife, Donna, of Sparta; a daughter, Louann Thomas and her husband, Glenn, of Sparta; two brothers, Joe Pat Clark and his wife, Janell, of Cookeville, and Richard Clark and his wife, Martha Jane, of Sparta; a sister, Marie Sevier and her husband, Ordon, of Crossville; six grandchildren, Andy Thomas, Kellie Thomas, Laura Thomas, Lyndee Clark, Lacey Clark, and Kade Clark; and a great grandchild, Nate Martin.

GLENDA DIANNE COWARD
Graveside services for Ms. Glenda Dianne Coward, 50, of Gallatin, and formerly of Livingston, were conducted on Monday, May 10, 2004, at Overton County Memorial Gardens with Rev. Donald Cobb officiating.
Ms. Coward died Saturday, May 8. She was a member of Two Rivers Baptist Church in Nashville.
Born July 9, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Mary E. Coward and the step-daughter of the late Dr. Sam B. Coward.
Survivors include a brother, Jerry Dugan and his wife, Betty, of Livingston; and special friends, James E. Lee of Hendersonville and Rhonda Lee of Gallatin.
Pallbearers were James E. Lee Sr., Roger Harris, Christopher Helms, Ray Wood, Rex Lemons, and Richard Staup.

FANNIE GENTRY
Funeral services for Mrs. Fannie Gentry, 69, of Monterey, were conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 19, 2004, from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home in Monterey.
Burial was in Ray cemetery in Monterey with Rev. Randy Roberson and Rev. Dewitt Sampley officiating.
Mrs. Gentry died Sunday, May 16 at her home. She was a factory worker and a member of Woodcliff Baptist Church.
Born December 1, 1934, in Monroe, she was the daughter of Lila (Reagan) Smith of Livingston and the late Johnny Smith.
Survivors, in addition to her mother, include her husband, Carson Gentry of Monterey; a daughter, Lori Morgan and her husband, Ronnie, of Cookeville; a step-son, Tim Gentry and his wife, Tammy, of Rickman; two brothers, Albert Smith of Jamestown and Doug Smith of Deckard; and four grandchildren, Brittany, Justin, Kaila, and Spencer.

JIMMY HAMMOCK
Graveside services for Mr. Jimmy Hammock, 58, of Anderson, IN, were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 11, 2004, at Honey Springs cemetery in the Crawford Community with Arnold Murphy officiating.
Mr. Hammock died Friday, May 7 at his home.
Born September 9, 1945, in the Twinton Community of Overton County, he was the son of the late James Frank and Happy (Abston) Hammock. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Ann Hammock and Billy Joe Clark.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Beane of Anderson; four brothers, Johnny Hammock of Gainesboro, and Jesse Hammock, Junior Hammock, and Jackie Hammock, all of Anderson; five sisters, Thelma Miller of Oneida, Deloris Booth and Judy Stanley, both of Anderson, Peggy Sheer of Gainesboro, and Wanda Phillips of Orange, TX; and two grandchildren, Austin Tyler and Katlyn Mackenzie, both of Anderson.
Mr. Hammock's family and friends served as pallbearers.
