HERLIN EDGAR LACY
Funeral services for Mr. Herlin Edgar Lacy, 85, of Alpine, were conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 8, 2004, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home.

Burial was in Bethsaida cemetery with Bro. Keith Linder and Bro. Cleston Ledbetter officiating.

Mr. Lacy died Tuesday, July 6 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was a retired farmer and a veteran of World War II.

Born March 3, 1919, in Clinton County, KY, he was the son of the late Roby and Flora Ellen (Daughtry) Lacy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Madge Lacy; and a brother, Hollis Bryce Lacy.

Survivors include his wife, Clara Clanzy (Cooper) Lacy of Alpine; three sons, Roger G. Lacy of Rickman, Ricky D. Lacy of Monterey, and Terry H. Lacy of Alpine; two daughters, Jewel Ann Short of Monterey and Wanda Faye White of Monroe; two brothers, Hershel Lacy of New York and Carson Lacy of Livingston; two sisters, Thelma Gray and Nora Etta Dillon, both of Livingston; 13 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Pallbearers were Dustin Short, Matt White, Chad Lacy, Adam Lacy, Jimmy Conner, and Shane Nelson.

Special care provided by Livingston Funeral Home.

ROBERT DESANTIS
Funeral services for Mr. Robert DeSantis, 79, of Allons, were conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2004, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.

Burial was in St. John Cemetery.

Mr. DeSantis died Tuesday, July 20 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a machinist, a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Cookeville, a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict, and a member of Bohannon American Legion Post 4, Hull-York Disabled American Veterans Chapter 5 in Byrdstown, and James T. Davis Memorial Post 5062 VFW.

Born July 27, 1924, in Welch, WV, he was the son of the late Fred and Mary (Castelli) DeSantis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Fred DeSantis; and a sister, Eva DeSantis.

Survivors include his wife, Nellie DeSantis of Allons; three sons, Robert F. DeSantis of Allons, Charles DeSantis of Park City, UT, and Dino DeSantis of Nashville; two daughters, Rosemary Yates of Shelby Township, MI, and Juli Garrison of Allons; two brothers, Raymond DeSantis and Frank DeSantis, both of Troy, MI; a sister, Gina Goike of Shelby Township; seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Lewis DeSantis, Roxy DeSantis, Ryan DeSantis, Terry Yates, Jamie Slusher, Mike Rudolph, and Stacey Rudolph.

ALVIE EULENE GREENWOOD
Funeral services for Mrs. Alvie Eulene Greenwood, 79, of Cookeville, will be conducted at 3 p.m. today, Wednesday, August 4, 2004, at Sycamore Church of Christ.

Burial will be in Cookeville City cemetery with Bro. Kevin White, Bro. Horace Burks, and Bro. Johnny Fox officiating.

Mrs. Greenwood died Monday, August 2 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was a homemaker and a member of Sycamore Church of Christ.

Born July 30, 1925, in Putnam County, she was the daughter of the late V.Y. Sr. and Maggie (Goolsby) Vaughn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Marvin Vaughn, Marshall Vaughn, Frank Vaughn, and V.Y. Vaughn Jr.; and two sisters, Daisy Rich and Sallie Shipley.

Survivors include her husband, Dewey Greenwood of Cookeville; a daughter, Linda Shapourian and her husband, Jack, of Cookeville; two sons, Ronald Greenwood and his wife, Vanta, and Donald Greenwood, all of Cookeville; five grandchildren, Rhonda Dillon and her husband, Chris, Jennifer Robinson and her husband, Rocky, Josh Greenwood, Jake Greenwood, and Tamera Shapourian; and a great grandchild, Lauren Bailey Dillon.

Pallbearers will be Chris Dillon, Rocky Robinson, Freddy Duncan, Bobby Swift, Gary Fox, and Jerry Vaughn.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Farid Eskandarnia, Afshin Eskandarnia, and Arvin Eskandarnia.

Special care provided by Whitson Funeral Home in Cookeville.

MARY DELLA RANDOLPH HEARD
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Della Randolph Heard, 70, of Algood, were conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, July 30, 2004, from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home.

Burial was in Algood cemetery with Rev. Vance Johnson officiating.

Mrs. Heard died Tuesday, July 27 at her home in Algood. She was the past owner of Stitch and Sew, as well as a homemaker, a mother, and a grandmother.

She was a member of Algood United Methodist Church, American Cancer Society, for which she served as representative in this area for many years, Algood Lions Club, Algood United Methodist Women, Cookeville Democratic Party, and Cookeville Women's Auxiliary Club. She also volunteered at Cookeville Regional Medical Center for many years.

Born November 13, 1933, in Putnam County, she was the daughter of the late Levi Preston "L.P." and Hallie Belle (Welch) Randolph. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Howard Heard; and three brothers, Herbert Randolph, Johnny Randolph, and Hubert Randolph.

Survivors include a daughter, Debbie Long and her husband, Bud, of Cookeville; a special sister, Jewel Jones of Cookeville; a grandson, Tyler Long of Cookeville; three special nieces, Janice Chaffin, Sandra Eldridge, and Lisa Clemmons; and a special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ed and Lil Heard of Pensacola, FL.

Pallbearers were Leroy Jones, Randy Jones, Gary Randolph, Mark Randolph, Mike Randolph, Roger Randolph, and Terry Chaffin.

Mrs. Heard's grandson, Tyler Long, and her great nephew, Zack Randolph, served as honorary pallbearers.

Memorial contributions may be made to Algood United Methodist Church building fund or Cookeville Lazarus House Hospice.

MATTIE BELL (COLLINS) LEDBETTER
Funeral services for Mrs. Mattie Bell (Collins) Ledbetter, 85, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, July 30, 2004, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home.

Burial was in Fellowship cemetery with Bro. Aron Dillon officiating.

Mrs. Ledbetter died Tuesday, July 27 at her daughter's home. She was a homemaker and affiliated with the Christian Community Church in Livingston.

Born May 17, 1919, in Clay County, she was the daughter of the late John William and Maude (Brown) Collins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Ledbetter; an infant son, Waymond Ledbetter; four brothers, Walter Collins, Willard Collins, Floyd Collins, and Wilton Collins; and two sisters, Arizona Collins and Magdalene Breeding.

Survivors include two sons, Raymond Ledbetter and his wife, Helen, and Laymond Ledbetter and his wife, Rachel, all of Indiana; a daughter, Sue Brown and her husband, Bill, of Livingston; two brothers, Willie Hugh Collins of Allons and Edward Collins of Rockton, IL; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and other family members and friends.

Pallbearers were Edward Ledbetter, Mike Ledbetter, Pat Ledbetter, Tom Cartmell, Steve Sims, and Scott Martin.

Serving as honorary pallbearers were Justin Ledbetter, Patrick Ledbetter, and Steve Ledbetter.

ARDA ELDRIDGE LEE
Funeral services for Mr. Arda Eldridge Lee, 88, of Cookeville, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 31, 2004, at Poplar Grove Baptist Church.

Burial was in West cemetery with Bro. Larry Self and Rev. Jim Rogers officiating.

Mr. Lee died Saturday, July 24 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He had owned and operated Hidden Hollow since 1952. He was a former troop leader of Boy Scouts of America for many years and a member of Theta Tau Professional Engineering Fraternity. He worked at Lockheed Aircraft from 1940 to 1972 as a tool design engineer.

Born May 9, 1916, in Putnam County, he was the son of the late Eldridge and Nora (Lollar) Lee. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Dimple (Wright) Lee; a brother, Ernal Lee; two sisters, Rosetta Howard and Winona Harris; and his former wife, W. Neva (Sapp) Lee.

Survivors include a daughter, Jeannie Richardson and her husband, Jimmy, of Wilmington, NC; a sister, Winnie Peterson and her husband, James, of Cookeville; five grandchildren, Jinjer Richardson, James Richardson, John Richardson, Jeffrey Richardson, and Joy Lee; five great grandchildren, Savannah Richardson, Joshua Richardson, John Richardson Jr., Kaitlyn Richardson, and Maggie Elizabeth Richardson; and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were James Richardson, John Richardson, Jeffrey Richardson, Bristol Harris, Alan Baker, Tony Briggs, and Tim Briggs.

Current and former employees of Hidden Hollow served as honorary pallbearers.

FLORENCE E. LEDBETTER
Funeral services for Mrs. Florence E. Ledbetter, 86, of Livingston, were conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2004, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.

Burial was in Liberty cemetery with Bro. Donnie Bull officiating.

Mrs. Ledbetter died Saturday, July 3 at Master's Health Care Center in Algood. She was retired from a jacket factory and was a member of the House of Faith.

Born October 14, 1917, in Ennis, TX, she was the daughter of the late John and Ocie Mae (Manning) Mims. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Kenneth Ledbetter.

Survivors include two daughters, Sue Simmons and Mary Keen, both of Crawford; five grandchildren, Kenny Simmons, Billy Houston Simmons, Kimberly Diane Keen, Mary Jo Keen, and Timmy Maxey Keen; and 11 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Kenny Simmons, Houston Simmons, Timmy Keen, Doug Good, Paul Stewart, and Tommy House.

Serving as honorary pallbearers were Ross Good, Jordan Simmons, and Michael Caldwell.

ORAL B. RAMSEY
Funeral services for Mr. Oral B. Ramsey, 51, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 10, 2004, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.

Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens with Rev. Ryan Barnhart and Bro. Aron Dillon officiating.

Mr. Ramsey died Thursday, July 8 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. He was a factory worker and a member of Grace Baptist Church.

Born July 30, 1952, in Battle Creek, MI, he was the son of Frances Louise (Smith) Ramsey of Livingston and the late Lansden B. Ramsey.

Survivors, in addition to his mother, include a brother, Allen Ramsey and his wife, Nancy, of Rickman; a sister, Janie Potter of Maryville; a half-brother, Danny Ray Barker of Muncie, IN; three neices, Gina Ramsey, Alice Bradburn, and Robin Holder; and several other nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Joe Ramsey, J.C. Ramsey, Charles Hammock, Tim Hicks, Mike Holton, and Joey Hill.

BETTY JO STORY
Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Jo Story, 75, of Monroe, were conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 8, 2004, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.

Burial was in Story cemetery with Rev. Don Maxson officiating.

Mrs. Story died Monday, July 5 at her home. She was a retired grocery store owner and a member of Monroe Christian Church.

Born October 13, 1928, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Otto and Ollie (Smith) Franklin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carson Leon Story; two sisters, Helen Franklin and Irene (Franklin) Story; and a brother, Harold Ray Franklin.

Survivors include a daughter, Angela Guffey and her husband, Clinton, of Monroe; a brother, Luther Franklin of Monroe; a sister, Mildred Franklin of Monroe; and two grandchildren, Chrissy Guffey of Monroe and Brian Parrott and his wife, Michele, of Dandridge.

Pallbearers were Pete Story, John Story, Leon Story, Jeff Story, Craig Story, and Chris Story.

Serving as honorary pallbearers were David Story, Billy Franklin, Doug Franklin, Steve Keisling, Brian Franklin, Kyle Story, and William Glenn Franklin.
