CYNTHIA JANE HUMMEL
Funeral services for Mrs. Cynthia Jane Hummel, 56, of Allons, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 7, 2004, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home.

Burial was in Fellowship cemetery with Bro. Dewitt Sampley officiating.

Mrs. Hummel died Friday, March 5 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a factory worker and a member of Summer Shade Church of Christ.

Born April 18, 1947, in Clinton County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Lanta Jeweline (Hill) Melton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Lonnie Joe Melton.

Survivors include her husband, R.D. Hummel of Allons; a daughter, Catherine Reeder and her husband, Rick, of Monroe; two sons, Denton Hummel and his wife, Teresa, of Allons, and Ronnie Hummel of Willow Grove; four sisters, Carol Langford of Livingston, Margaret Stewart of Rickman, Betty Flatt of Bloomington Springs, and Connie Shook of Decatur; four brothers, Johnny Ray Melton of Allons, Jim Melton of Bridgeport, AL, Perry Melton of Rickman, and Chester Paul Melton of Hilham; and four grandchildren, Chelsea Reeder, Chad Reeder, Kaylee Hummel, and Jessie Hummel.

Pallbearers were Randy Watkins, Carl Ferrell, Rick Beasley, Ronnie Melton, Glen Leslie, and James Burton.

CARRIE E. (WINTON) NORRIS
Funeral services for Mrs. Carrie E. (Winton) Norris, 94, of Cookeville and formerly of Alpine, were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, March 5, 2004, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.

Burial was in Green Hill cemetery with Rev. Ovle Tinch and Bro. Don Kelly officiating.

Mrs. Norris died Tuesday, March 2 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a grocery merchant and a member of Christ Church Presbyterian in Alpine.

Born July 28, 1909, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Emett and Flora (Bilbrey) Winton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Banis Norris; a son, Keith Norris; two brothers; and three sisters.

Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Debbie Norris of Cookeville; three brothers, Bethel Winton and Carlos Winton, both of Cookeville, and Glen Winton of Sparta; a sister, Ruth Mitchell of Sparta; a grandson, Chandler Norris of Cookeville; a granddaughter, Cheryl Turner of Nashville; three special nephews, Richard Winton of Livingston, Emit Winton of Rickman, and Jim Winton; and several other nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Richard Winton, Jim Winton, Emit Winton, Wayne Winton, Gerald Winton, Greg Winton, Mitch Winton, Harold Mitch Robbins, and Lance Roy.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Green Hill Cemetery.

TAKOTA WENDELL PERDUE
Funeral services for Master Takota Wendell Perdue, infant, of Livingston, were conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, March 8, 2004, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home.

Burial was in Story cemetery in Pickett County with Pastor Jeff Johnson and Bro. Tom Lyles officiating.

Master Perdue died Thursday, March 4 at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born October 11, 2003, in Dayton, OH, he was the son of Jerry and Amanda (Dyer) Perdue of Livingston. He was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Christine Matthews, Bill Bond, Kenneth Matthew Dyer Sr., and Edward and Delia Perdue.

Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his grandparents, Kim Bond and her fiancˇ, Tim Mounce, both of Livingston, Wendell and Linda Perdue of Muncie, IN, Debbie and Steven Allen of Gainesboro, and Kenneth and Ruth Dyer of Dayton, OH; his great grandmother, Sandra Allen of Smithville; two sisters, Kierra Perdue of Livingston and Tiffany Perdue of Burkesville, KY; two brothers, Austin Hunter and Dalton Hunter, both of Livingston; and several aunts, uncles, and other family members and friends.

Pallbearers were Robert Perdue and Joey Allen.

CHRISTINE (ADAMS) RICHARDSON
Funeral services for Mrs. Christine (Adams) Richardson, 77, of Algonac, MI, and formerly of Allons, were conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 4, 2004, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.

Burial was in Fellowship cemetery with Rev. Jerry Harris officiating.

Mrs. Richardson died Saturday, February 28 in Mt. Clemens, MI. She was a homemaker and of the Church of Christ faith.

Born March 16, 1926, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Blue C. and Venoy Alice (Ford) Adams. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hassell I. Richardson.

Survivors include a son, Jerry Richardson and his wife, Diane, of Roseville, MI; a daughter, Glenda Austin and her husband, William, of Algonac; two brothers, Junior Adams of Livingston and Grandville Adams of Indianapolis, IN; seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

GLEN LEE SHOEMAKE
Funeral services for Mr. Glen Lee Shoemake, 66, of Cookeville, were conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 4, 2004, from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home in Cookeville.

Burial was in Dickens cemetery in Smith County with Bro. Clarence Jared and Bro. Russell Flatt officiating.

Mr. Shoemake died Monday, March 1 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Retired from Hub City Exterminators, he was an avid gardener and a member of Brotherton Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon for many years.

Born April 10, 1937, in Smith County, he was the son of the late Frank and Bessie (Bush) Shoemake. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Ethel Shoemake; and a brother, Robert Shoemake.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Mary (Coffee) Shoemake of Cookeville; a daughter, Linda Cox and her husband, Russell, of Cookeville; a son, Robert Shoemake and his wife, Connie, of Sparta; two sisters, Ruth Norris of Livingston and Ethel Blair and her husband, Ernest, of Elmwood; three grandchildren, Amanda Dyer and her husband, Tim, Jennifer Griner and her husband, Scott, and Andrew Cox and his wife, Suzanne; and three great grandchildren, Aaron Dyer, Reuben Dyer, and Samuel Dyer.

JOYCE EUDEAN STEPHENS
Funeral services for Mrs. Joyce Eudean Stephens, 61, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2004, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.

Burial was in Smith cemetery with Bro. Bobby Gore officiating.

Mrs. Stephens died Thursday, March 4 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a homemaker and of the Church of Christ faith.

Born February 18, 1943, in Overton County, she was the daughter of Inogene Smith of Monroe and the late Willie Muncie Smith. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Benton Stephens; and a son, Kent Reeder.

Survivors, in addition to her mother, include a daughter, Marsha Lynn Reeder of Livingston; three brothers, Jessie Smith and Joey Smith, both of Monroe, and Jimmy Smith of Cookeville; two sisters, Jewell Turner of Algood and Judy Smith of Monroe; and a grandson, Aron Landon Armstrong.

Pallbearers were Kevin Smith, Joseph Smith, Phillip Bartlett, Brian Ledbetter, Josh White, Gary Mathis, and Josh Meadow.

THOMAS CLARK VAUGHN
Funeral services for Mr. Thomas Clark Vaughn, 77, of Livingston, were conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, March 5, 2004, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.

Burial, along with military services performed by the Honor Guard of James T. Davis Memorial Post 5062, was in Conner-Pryor cemetery in Pickett County with Bro. Marlon Winningham and Bro. Billy Burchett officiating.

Mr. Vaughn died Tuesday, March 2 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a truck driver for Livingston Limestone, a member of Allons Baptist Church, and a veteran of the United States Navy.

Born September 16, 1926, in Pickett County, he was the son of the late Ben and Myrtie (Arney) Vaughn. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Della Mae Vaughn and Headith Gore Vaughn.

Survivors include two daughters, Shelia Walker and her husband, Kenny, and Brenda Matthews and her husband, James, all of Livingston; four brothers, Bobby Vaughn, Edd Vaughn, Ken Vaughn, and Bill Vaughn, all of Livingston; four grandchildren, Todd Matthews, Mark Matthews, Jason Young, and Tina Hall; and four great grandchildren, Dillan Matthews, Hailey Matthews, Devin Matthews, and Jordan Matthews.

Pallbearers were Todd Matthews, Mark Matthews, David Pryor, Randall Vaughn, Bryan Hall, and Jason Young.

Serving as honorary pallbearers were Gene Vaughn and Dillan Matthews.

LINDA GAIL WHITED
Funeral services for Mrs. Linda Gail Whited, 55, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 29, 2004, from the chapel of Jennings Funeral Home in Jamestown.

Burial was in Wright cemetery in Jamestown with Bro. James Clayborn and Bro. James Roberson officiating. Mrs. Whited died Wednesday, February 25 at Overton County Nursing Home. She was a homemaker and a member of Wright Chapel Baptist Church.

Born July 31, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Orbit and Ethel Wright. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tollie Whited.

Survivors include a daughter, Rebecca Whited of Livingston; a son, Greg Whited and his wife, Donna, of Livingston; three brothers, Roger Wright and Donald K. Wright, both of Alpine, and J.B. Wright of Muncie, IN; a sister, Leeta Vaughn of Nashville; a special nephew, Klye Wright; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Jerrod Wright, Michael Wright, Jason Wright, Joe Wright, Scott Wright, Steve Wright, Kyle Wright, and Nathaniel Linder.

LURA D. WHITTINGTON
Funeral services for Mrs. Lura D. Whittington, 97, of Livingston, were conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2004, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.

Burial was in Campground cemetery with Bro. Barry Mays officiating.

Mrs. Whittington died Monday, March 1 at Overton County Nursing Home. She was a housewife, a factory worker, and a member of Campground Church.

Born November 24, 1906, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Marion Sidney and Miniza Ethel (Masters) Eldridge. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Herbert Taylor and Jessie Whittington; a son, Franklin Taylor; three sisters, Lillie Allen, Flory Davis, and Pearl Boles; and two brothers, Oscar Eldridge and Robert Eldridge.

Survivors include two daughters, Frances Thurman and Vanita Gore, both of Livingston; a brother, J.D. Eldridge of Livingston; 9 great grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and a great-great granddaughter.

Pallbearers were Darrell Gore, Brandon Gore, John J. Thurman, Jay Cravens, Wayne Gilpatrick, Cody Gilpatrick, Tyler Gore, and Colby Gore.

MICHAEL THOMAS MCGINLEY
Funeral services for Mr. Michael Thomas McGinley, 31, of Livingston, were conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, November 7, 2003, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home.

Burial was in Harris Chapel cemetery with Bro. Charlie Hutchinson officiating.

Mr. McGinley died Tuesday, November 4 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a truck driver for Performance Food Group in Lebanon and was of the Baptist faith.

Born February 15, 1972, in Lake County, Hammond, IN, he was the son of Peggy (Lee) McGinley of Cookeville and the late Thomas McGinley. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandfather, James Lee; and his grandparents, John and Martha McGinley.

Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Deborah (Brown) McGinley of Livingston; two daughters, Korrie McGinley and Hailey McGinley, both of Livingston; his grandmother, Louise Lee of Indiana; a sister, Paula McGinley of Nashville; and two brothers-in-law, Jeff Brown of Celina and Derrick Brown and his wife, Melinda, of Rickman.

Pallbearers were Mike McGinley, Jack McGinley, James Lee, Derrick Brown, Jeffrey Brown, and Jason Neal.

LUKE L. SCOTT
Funeral services for Mr. Luke L. Scott, 74, of Livingston, were conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, November 6, 2003, from the chapel of Anderson Funeral Home in Gainesboro.

Burial was in Fairview cemetery in Jackson County with Bro. Comer McGuire officiating.

Mr. Scott died Monday, November 3 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a farmer and a member of Oak Hill United Methodist Church in Rickman.

Born June 7, 1929, in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Faye and Fannie Mae (Moss) Scott. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Charles Carmack, George Warren, Edward Scott, and Winters Scott; and four sisters, Mamie Scott, Edna Lockhart, Opal Lockhart, and Nannie Scott.

Survivors include a son, Rickey Scott of Cookeville; a daughter, Rebecca Phipps and her husband, Gary, of Rickman; four brothers, Elmer Scott, Billy Scott, George Scott, and John Scott; two sisters, Bonnie Scott and Thelma Rogers; two grandchildren, Joshua Scott and Kevin Brown; and three great grandchildren, Kayla Scott, Joshua Brown, and Sierra Brown.
