GARY RICHARD ALLRED
Funeral services for Mr. Gary Richard Allred, 65, of Odessa, TX, will be conducted Thursday, October 30, 2003, from the chapel of Kelly Funeral Home in Odessa.

Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Allred died Monday, October 27 at his home. He worked in the oil fields.

Born March 19, 1938, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Cortes and Ruby (Ledbetter) Allred. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, LaQuita Allred; a brother, Earl Allred; and two sisters, Johnnie Ruth Padgett and Betty (Allred) Cragite.

Survivors include a son, Mike Allred; a daughter, Chris; two brothers, Gene Allred and Mike Allred; a sister, Charlene McMahan; and a grandson, Jacob.

RAYMOND R. "NAP" BAUCOM
Funeral services for Mr. Raymond R. "Nap" Baucom, 77, of Cookeville, and formerly of Nashville, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 25, 2003, from the chapel of Woodbine Funeral Home in Nashville.

Burial was in Spring Hill cemetery in Nashville with Rev. Gordon Donahoe officiating.

Mr. Baucom died Thursday, October 23 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a retired aircraft mechanic and a member of Donelson View Baptist Church, John B. Garrett Masonic Lodge, Al Menah Shrine Temple, and Woodmen of the World.

Born July 19, 1926, in Nashville, he was the son of the late W.T. and Eula Baucom. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Marvin Baucom.

Survivors include a daughter, Amanda West and her husband, John, of Livingston; a brother, Bill Baucom of Nashville; two sisters, Lizzie Rogers of Boise, ID, and Marie Smith of Sun City West, AZ; two grandchildren, Alison West and Adrian West, both of Livingston; a host of nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Irene Barnhart of Cookeville.

Pallbearers were Gene Baucom, William Baucom, Horace Ray, Lloyd Anderson, Robert Hill, and Charlie Hunter.

Serving as hononary pallbearers were Mr. Baucom's former classmates at Howard School.

MACKY EUGENE COOPER
Funeral services for Mr. Macky Eugene Cooper, 63, of Alpine, were conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 25, 2003, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.

Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens with Rev. Ovle Tinch officiating.

Mr. Cooper died Wednesday, October 22 in Nashville. He was a machine shop foreman and attended the Baptist Church.

Born June 19, 1940, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Oral Willard and Florence (Smith) Cooper. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia (Wilson) Cooper; and a brother, Bruce Cooper.

Survivors include three sons, Douglas Cooper of Actworth, GA, David Cooper of Rome, GA, and Gary Cooper of Cartersville, GA; four daughters, Sherry Chilton and Dorris Barfield, both of Calhoun, GA, Necole Cooper of Jamestown, and CeCe Cooper of Clarkrange; two sisters, Sharon Hood and Charlotte Huddleston, both of Livingston; 13 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Jim Hood, Patrick Huddleston, Eric Huddleston, Lee Barfield, James Barfield, and Tony Huddleston.

JOSHUA GLEN DICKERSON
Funeral services for Mr. Joshua Glen Dickerson, 19, of Hardy's Chapel, were conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, October 26, 2003, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.

Burial was in Poplar Springs cemetery with Rev. Ronald Reed and Rev. Michael Anderson officiating.

Mr. Dickerson died Thursday, October 23 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a press operator for G&G Metal Fabrication, Inc. and was affiliated with Swallows Chapel Full Gospel Church.

Born October 17, 1984, in Putnam County, he was the son of Vernon and Linda (Edmonds) Dickerson of Hardy's Chapel.

Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his grandparents, Bill and Bonnie Edmonds and Glen and Nell Dickerson, all of Hardy's Chapel; a sister, Kelli Ray and her husband, Scott, of Allons; two nephews, Joseph Ray and Cody Ray; a niece, Kayln Conner; and two special friends, Hayley Wisehart and Josh Whalen.

Pallbearers were Devin Gentry, Todd Rose, Coby Reid, Jamie Mee, Jeremy Malone, Dustin Binkley, Wayne Thompson, Jeff Gunter, Rob Cook, Dusty Short, and Loren Reed.

Serving as honorary pallbearers were Scott Ray, Cody Gentry, Stacy Dickerson, Buddy Reed, Corey Maynord, Josh Whalen, and Brett Sullivan.

FRED T. GARRETT
Funeral services for Mr. Fred T. Garrett, 81, of Livingston, were conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 23, 2003, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home.

Burial was in Dock Hall cemetery in Clay County with Bro. Aron Dillon officiating.

Mr. Garrett died Sunday, October 19 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was a machinist, a toolmaker, and a United States Army veteran of World War II. He was of the Pentecostal faith.

Born March 29, 1922, in Cumberland County, he was the son of the late John William T. and Willie Garrett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son.

Survivors include his wife, Katie (Hammock) Garrett of Livingston; three daughters, Jan Morse and Patty Hickok, both of Pennsylvania, and Kathy Stevenson of New York; five sons, Tom Garrett, Steve Garrett, Mike Garrett, Jim Garrett, and Matt Garrett, all of New York; a sister, Louise Frazier of Arizona; and 43 grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Tom Garrett, Steve Garrett, Mike Garrett, Ray Hammock, Merle Melton, and Shane Melton.

ELIZA GERTRUDE MAYNARD
Funeral services for Mrs. Eliza Gertrude Maynard, 84, of Rickman, were conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2003, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.

Burial was in Cole-Peterman cemetery in Allons with Bro. Mike Maynard and Bro. Aron Dillon officiating.

Mrs. Maynard died Monday, October 20 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was a life skills teacher for Tennessee School for the Blind and a member of First United Methodist Church in Livingston, the Democratic Party, and the Eastern Star.

Born February 9, 1919, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Mary Alice (Kirby) Reed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Armel H. Maynard; and a brother, Johnny Reed.

Survivors include a son, Mike Maynard and his wife, Missy, of Rickman; a daughter, Linda Lawrence of Pigeon Forge; a sister, Bobbye Cope of Livingston; four grandchildren, Megan Maynard, Reed Maynard, Mahlon Maynard, and Ceren Farr; two great grandchildren; and two special friends, Tom and Liz Clark.

Pallbearers were Mike Allison, Steve Ledbetter, Lonnie Hickey, Steve Hickey, Noel Key, and Tom Clark.

DOROTHY VELLA (TAYSE) MOORE
Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Vella (Tayse) Moore, 91, of Livingston, were conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, October 26, 2003, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.

Burial was in Green Hill cemetery with Bro. David Beaty officiating.

Mrs. Moore died Friday, October 24 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a housewife and of the Presbyterian faith.

Born January 31, 1912, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Grover and Alba (Kennedy) Tayse. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Denny Brown; her second husband, Fred T. Moore Sr.; two brothers, Carvel Tayse and Willard Sells; and three sisters, Lola Norris, Della Chilton, and Lois Eldridge.

Survivors include four step-children, Melba Burns and Reese Brown, both of Kansas, Fred T. Moore Jr., and Betsy Brodie of Florida; a sister, Arxie Jones of Alpine; several step-grandsons; several nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and great nephews.

Pallbearers were Jeff Collins, Jimmy Kennedy, Mickey Bowman, Marvin Norrod, Lonnie Hoover, and Gerald David Norris.

BRUCE EDWARD PAUL
Funeral services for Mr. Bruce Edward Paul, 38, of Alpine, were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, October 27, 2003, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.

Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens with Rev. Robert Wright and Dr. David Moore officiating.

Mr. Paul died Friday, October 24 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a self-employed carpenter and a member of Miller's Chapel Christian Church.

Born April 1, 1965, in Overton County, he was the son of O.H. and Irene (King) Paul of Alpine. He was preceded in death by a brother, Gregory Travis Paul.

Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his wife, Beverly Paul of Alpine; a son, Bryan Edward Paul of Alpine; a brother, Jeff Paul of Alpine; five nephews, Joshua Paul, Jacob Paul, Brad Thornton, Chris Thornton, and Jacob Fitzgerald.

Pallbearers were Randall Penticuff, Brian Robbins, Freddie Paul, Kelly Paul, Chris King, Ryan King, and Jeff Copeland.

JACK LEE ASHCRAFT JR.
Memorial services for Mr. Jack Lee Ashcraft Jr., 49, of Livingston, were conducted at 5 p.m. Wednesday, December 15, 2004, from the chapel of Rickman-Hall Funeral Home with Craig Green officiating.

Mr. Ashcraft died Monday, December 13 at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born August 16, 1955, in Indiana, he was the son of the late Lena (Elrod) Kilgore.

Survivors include a daughter, Lena Michelle Ashcraft of Columbia; and a sister, Gwendolyn Harris of Livingston.

VANIS O. BARLOW
Funeral services for Mr. Vanis O. Barlow, 78, of Murfreesboro and formerly of Hilham, were conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, December 24, 2004, at Aaron's Chapel Community Church in Hilham.

Burial was in Aaron's Chapel cemetery with Bro. Dewey Glenn Masters and Bro. Doyle Hayes officiating.

Mr. Barlow died Tuesday, December 21 at Centennial Medical Center. He was a self-employed wood crafter, a member of Unity Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, and a United States Army veteran of World War II.

Born November 5, 1926, in Jackson County and raised in Overton County, he was the son of the late Alfus and Dellar (Langford) Barlow.

Survivors include his wife, Agnes Barlow of Murfreesboro; four sons, Earris Barlow and his wife, Yvonne, and Jarvis Barlow and his wife, Nancy, all of Mt. Juliet, Fletcher Barlow and his wife, Sabra, of Smyrna, and Danny Barlow and his wife, Regina, of Hilham; a daughter, Sharon Rader of Mt. Juliet; a brother, Kenneth Barlow of Hilham; four sisters, Veachel Bennett and Pearl Masters, both of Hilham, Jewel Smith of Livingston, and Kathleen Boles of Hendersonville; five grandchildren, Amanda Barlow of Hilham, Casey Barlow of Murfreesboro, Eric Barlow of Mt. Juliet, Angela Duncan of LaVergne, and Shelly Todd of Murfreesboro; and two great grandchildren, Brandon Duncan and Jordan Duncan, both of LaVergne.

Pallbearers were Randy Bilyeu, Johnny Conner, Wayne Beechboard, Gunther Bennett, Glen Smith, Casey Barlow, Eric Barlow, and Brian Todd.

DANNY "THOMAS" DENNIS
Funeral services for Mr. Danny "Thomas" Dennis, 51, of Indianapolis, IN, and formerly of Overton County, were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, December 27, 2004, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Tom Scully officiating.

Mr. Dennis died Monday, December 20 at his home. He was a construction worker.

Born July 31, 1953, in Overton County, he was the son of the late John P. and Pearl (Johnson) Dennis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Margie Kay Dennis.

Survivors include a son, Jeremy Dennis of Livingston; a brother, Johnny Dennis of Cadiz, KY; seven sisters, Margaret Colson of Livingston, Betty Jouett of Monroe, Julie Maggart of Rock Island, Patsy Post of Nixa, MO, Jean Clark and June Barlow, both of Cadiz, and Joyce Hayes of Cerulean, KY; and a granddaughter, Amber Dennis of Livingston.
