ORPHA R. EASTERLY
Funeral services for Mrs. Orpha R. Easterly, 96, of Algood, were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, February 6, 2004, from the chapel of Rickman-Hall Funeral Home.
Burial was in Parris-Riley cemetery in Pickett County with Bro. Gene Schmid officiating.
Mrs. Easterly died Wednesday, February 4 at Masters Health Care Center in Algood.
Born November 21, 1907, in Clinton County, she was the daughter of the late William and Sally (Martin) Russell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ezra Easterly; a son, Edward Easterly; two brothers, Willie Russell and Everett Russell; a sister, Cora Russell; and a son-in-law, Joseph Martin.
Survivors include four sons, William "Bud" Easterly and Roger Easterly, both of Algood, Ezra Travis "Tab" Easterly Jr. of Hartselle, AL, and James Earnest "Jim" Easterly of Fairview; a daughter, Evelyn Martin of Algood; 8 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Michael Easterly, Terry Easterly, Greg Easterly, Roger Easterly Jr., Robert Easterly, Carol Flatt, and Vickie Sweat, all grandchildren of Mrs. Easterly.

BILLIE GRAGG
Masonic funeral rites for Mr. Billie Gragg, 72, of the Vines Ridge Community, were conducted at 8 p.m. Monday, February 9, 2004, from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home in Monterey. Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 10 at Goff Funeral Home.
Burial was in Phillips cemetery in Hanging Limb with Rev. Richard Rollins officiating.
Mr. Gragg died Friday, February 6 at his home. A truck driver for 40 years, he was a lifetime member of the Teamsters Local 299 in Detroit, MI, as well as a master mason at Lodge 577 in Detroit. He was a member of Mt. Clemens Commandry 51 in Mt. Clemens, MI, and Mt. Clemens Council 8 in St. Clair Shores, MI. He served as a royal arch mason at Lodge 69 in St. Clair Shores, and was a Christian of the Baptist faith.
Born January 21, 1932, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Roscoe Gragg and Willowdean (Barnett) Gragg Blanton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife of 44 years, Earlene (Matthews) Gragg; and an infant sister, Claudean Gragg.
Survivors include his devoted wife, Adelle Gragg of Vines Ridge; two daughters, Pamela Sue Thomsen and her husband, Andy, of New Baltimore, MI, and Mary Ann Norrod of Cookeville; three sons, David Gragg and his wife, Theresa, and Bill Gragg, all of Cookeville, and Dan Gragg and his wife, Beth, of Monterey; five step-children, Willadean Luther, Jackie McCloud, Jimmy McCloud, Danny McCloud, and Fred McCloud; a brother, Charles Gragg of Vines Ridge; seven grandchildren, Laura Harris, Tonya Loftin, Elizabeth Burgess, Daniel Norrod, Justin Gragg, Cassandra Gragg, and Roscoe Gragg; and four great grandchildren.

EDDIE LEE HILL
Funeral services for Mr. Eddie Lee Hill, 55, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, February 6, 2004, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.
Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens with Bro. Malcolm Hill officiating.
Mr. Hill died Wednesday, February 4 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was a self-employed heavy equipment operator, a member of West End Church of Christ, a member of Tennessee Road Builders Association, and a former alderman of the Town of Livingston.
Born November 19, 1948, in Overton County, he was the son of Robert A. "Bob" and Anna Maxine (Denton) Hill.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his wife, Karen C. Hill of Livingston; a daughter, Whitney Brooke Hill of Livingston; two step-daughters, Chelsia Phillips and Katelyn Hill; his grandmother, Bernice (Fuqua) Denton; a brother, Kelly Hill and his wife, Damita, of Livingston; a sister, Penny Hill of Livingston; two nieces, Blair Hill and Hartlee Hill, both of Livingston; and a nephew, Hayden Hill of Livingston.
Pallbearers were Dan Hill, Mark Hill, Brian Hill, Jerry Hill, Hayden Hill, Greg Thompson, Jay Coffman, and James Norrod. Serving as honorary pallbearers were David Sadler, Rick Maynord, Darrell Linder, Joe Hill, David Thompson, Scott Norrod, Ray Ramsey, and Walter Burroughs.

Funeral services for Mrs. Elene Livingston, 87, of Hilham, were conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, February 5, 2004, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.

Mrs. Livingston died Tuesday, February 3 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a housewife and a member of Hilham Church of Christ.
Born January 16, 1917, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Walter G. and Mary Belle (Carwile) Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Ray Livingston; a brother, Charles Smith; a sister, Roberta Willis; two half-brothers, Otis Smith and Oscar Smith; and a half-sister, Bonnie Smith.
Survivors include three sons, Jim Livingston of Glasgow, KY, Dale Livingston and his wife, Sue, of Tallahassee, FL, and Max Livingston and his wife, Elizabeth, of Auburn, GA; four brothers, Melvin Smith and his wife, Florine, of Anderson, IN, Tom Smith and his wife, Agnes, and Walter Smith and his wife, Evelyn, all of Chattanooga, and Bill Smith and his wife, Betty, of Calhoun, GA; two sisters, Chalus Masters of Cookeville, and Johnnie Brannum and her husband, Howard, of Hilham; 8 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

HARRIETT L. PUCKETT
Funeral services for Mrs. Harriett L. Puckett, 76, of Mt. Juliet and formerly of Overton County, were conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 7, 2004, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.
Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens with Rev. Newsome Harvey officiating.
Mrs. Puckett died Sunday, February 1 at Mt. Juliet Health Care. A sales representative in the textile industry, she was a member of Livingston Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Overton County Civic & Garden Club, and area Home Demonstration Clubs. She had also worked with former Vice President Al Gore at the L.B.J.&C. Corporation.
Born February 20, 1927, in Neosho, MO, she was the daughter of the late Dow Fredrick and Julia Geraldine (Butler) Snyder. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank M. Puckett; and a brother, Jim Snyder.
Survivors include two sons, Max Puckett of Fairfax, VA, and Steve Puckett of LaPine, OR; three daughters, Judy (Puckett) Critchfield of Dumfries, VA, Freida DeVandry of Dickson, and Barbara Rollins of Old Hickory; 14 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.

LESSIE KATE BYBEE
Funeral services for Mrs. Lessie Kate Bybee, 94, of Algood, were conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 28, 2004, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.

Mrs. Bybee died Monday, April 26 at Masters Health Care Center. She was a homemaker and a member of Fairview Church of Christ.
Born January 15, 1910, in Clay County, she was the daughter of the late Andrew H. and Rosie Elam Bowers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Porter Delbert Bybee; and a son, Richard Bowers.
Survivors include two sons, Patton Delbert Bybee of Sparta and Donnie Earl Bybee of Algood; a daughter, Joy (Bybee) Vaughn of Algood; and a granddaughter, Wanda Pippin of Algood.

WILLIE HASKELL "HACK" CHILTON
Funeral services for Mr. Willie Haskell "Hack" Chilton, 87, of Monroe, were conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 1, 2004, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home.

Mr. Chilton died Wednesday, April 28 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a farmer and of the Baptist faith.
Born September 22, 1916, in Clay County, he was the son of the late Ed and Julie (Boyd) Chilton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Willie Edward Chilton; a daughter, Brenda Jo Chilton; two brothers, Andrew Thomas Chilton and Oscar Chilton; and a sister, Beulah Velma Chilton.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Allene (Dulworth) Chilton of Monroe; a son, Jimmy H. Chilton and his wife, Linda, of Monroe; five grandchildren, Stanley Chilton, Bryan Chilton, Jimmy D. Chilton, Alesha Dillon, and Shelly Byrd; and 13 great grandchildren.

LASSIE ANGELEEN DECK
Funeral services for Mrs. Lassie Angeleen Deck, 73, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 2, 2004, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home.

Mrs. Deck died Saturday, May 1 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a factory worker and a member of Liberty Freewill Baptist Church.
Born January 3, 1931, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Maynord "Judge" and Willie (Dishman) Hammock. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hoyte Deck; and a brother, Benton Lee Hammock.
Survivors include three sisters, Katie Garrett, Callie Matthews, and Carrie Dishman, all of Livingston; a brother, Clinton Hammock of Livingston; and several nieces and nephews.

O.L. "CURLEY" DIXON
Funeral services for Mr. O.L. "Curley" Dixon, 72, of Tipton, IN, were conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 1, 2004, from the chapel of Young-Nicols Funeral Home in Tipton.
Burial was in Fairview cemetery in Tipton with Rev. Harvey McDaniels officiating.
Mr. Dixon died Wednesday, April 28. He was a farmer from 1960-1966, was employed at Farm Bureau Co-op from 1966-1995, and was a member of East Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church in Tipton.
Born May 9, 1931, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Oliver Lee and Dovie (Denton) Dixon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Larry R. Dixon; a brother, Thurman Dixon; and three sisters, Nola Ellis, Bertie Mansall, and Maysell Dixon.
Survivors include his wife, Katheryn (Burks) Dixon; a daughter, Judy (Dixon) Kennedy and her husband, Gerald W., of Rockville, IN; a son, Steve H. Dixon and his wife, Karen, of Tipton; a brother, Homer Dixon of Knoxville; five grandchildren, Kristy Dixon of Indianapolis, IN, Chad Dixon of Lafayette, IN, Gerald E. Kennedy and his wife, Lisa, of Lafayette, Christopher L. Kennedy and his wife, Jihan, of Lafayette, Joseph W. Miss Fleming died Saturday, April 29 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a grocery store clerk and a member of Holly Springs Church of Christ.
Born August 29, 1913, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Doy and Virgie (Swift) Fleming. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Lucille Talley, Pauline Turney, and Ann Cordle; and a brother, Albert Fleming.
Survivors include three nephews, Kevin Fleming and Larry Fleming, both of Allons, and Greg Cordle of Ohio; and three nieces, Carolyn Vaughn of Rickman, Mary Wilson of Georgia, and Virginia Long of Michigan.
Pallbearers were Kevin Fleming, Larry Fleming, Charles Vaughn, Matthew Fleming, Wayne Brown, and Chet Brittingham.

Mr. Hargis died Saturday, May 1 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was a timber worker, a farmer, a member of Calvary Freewill Baptist Church in Hanging Limb, and a member of Green Pond Masonic Lodge 703.
Born March 19, 1903, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Calvin and Mary Ann (Key) Hargis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Bertha (Sisco) Hargis; his second wife, Ruth (Johnson) Hargis; a daughter, Pauline Reed; and three sons, Homer Hargis, Charles Hargis, and Clyde Hargis.
Survivors include three daughters, Juanita Reed of Hanging Limb, Geneva Simpson of Wallens Creek, KY, and Betty Cleghorn of Algood; three sons, Otis Hargis of Hanging Limb, Claude Hargis of Cookeville, and Danny Hargis of Monterey; 28 grandchildren; 56 great grandchildren; and 34 great-great grandchildren.
