KATHERINE JEAN CLARK
Mrs. Katherine Jean Clark, 54, of Cookeville, died Tuesday, April 15 at Bethesda Health Care. She was a homemaker and a member of Cookeville First Christian Church. Burial was in Clark cemetery in Pickett County. Private services are planned for a later date.
Born October 23, 1948, in Minden, NE, she was the daughter of the late Marston and Margaret Jean (Hollenbeck) Anderson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Finley; and an infant grandson, Christopher Rattanovong.
Survivors include her husband, Herman Clark of Cookeville; a son, Kevin Clark of Cookeville; three daughters, Karen Rattanovong of Cookeville, Kristen Love of Morristown, and Kelli Kilgore of Crossville; her step-mother, Helen Anderson of Grand Island, NE; a sister, Pam Magness of Santa Rosa, CA; and seven grandchildren, Briana Rattanovong, Joseph Rattanovong, Jordan Rattanovong, Benjamin Rattanovong, Shandon Roberts, Alissa Love, and Jade Clark.

ROY JUSTIN MCDONALD
Funeral services for Mr. Roy Justin McDonald, 58, of Livingston, were conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, April 21, 2003, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Burial was in Sylvester Robbins cemetery with Bro. Bob Stoner officiating.
Mr. McDonald died Thursday, April 17 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a cattle farmer and a member of Beaty Swamp Community Church.
Born June 19, 1944, in Overton County, he was the son of Dean (Newberry) McDonald and the late Kenneth McDonald. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a son, Justin Craig McDonald.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include a brother, Eugene McDonald of Livingston; two sisters, Allie Clendenan of Williamston, MI, and Margie Peacy of Livingston; a granddaughter, Jessica Webb of Rickman; a grandson, Christopher McDonald of Knoxville; a great grandson, Tyler Webb of Rickman; and a special friend and companion, Betty White of Livingston.
Pallbearers were A.B. Coleman, Barry Martin, Donnie McDonald, Barney McDonald, Bryan Smith, Doyle Smith, and Wayne Smith.

BOBBY D. APPLE
Funeral services for Mr. Bobby D. Apple, 60, of Cookeville, will be conducted at 11 a.m. today, Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2003, from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home in Cookeville.
Burial will be in Harris Cemetery, in Putnam County, with Bro. Ray Brown and Bro. Fletcher Upchurch officiating.
Mr. Apple died Saturday, Aug. 16 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was the owner and operator of A-Plus Builders and a member of Twin Hills Baptist Church in Westmoreland.
Born August 18, 1942, in Jackson County, he was the son of Leonard Apple of Cookeville and the late Anna Lee (Redman) Apple. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by an infant sister.
Survivors, in addition to his father, include his wife, Ruth (Gillentine) Apple of Cookeville; two daughters, Jeanette Hackler and husband, Bill, of Franklin, and Teresa Fleming and husband, Hoyt, of Boise, ID; a son, Robert Apple and wife, Aleta, of Knoxville; three brothers, Sam Apple, Jerry Apple, and Larry Apple, all of Indiana; three sisters, Jo McMurray and husband, Rex, of Indiana, Pat Apple of Algood, and Debbie Jones and husband, Kenneth, of Hermitage; three grandchildren, Heather Apple, Lindsey Akersloot, and "Baby" Will Hackler; special aunts, Mildred Creech of Ruthledge and Louise Moss of Baxter; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mr. Apple's children and grandchildren, along with Kenneth Jones, Donald Jones, Hoyt Fleming, and Bill Hackler, will serve as pallbearers.

SHERLIE ANN DICKSON
Funeral services for Mrs. Sherlie Ann Dickson, 50, of Cookeville, were conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 17, 2003, from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home in Cookeville.
Burial was in Smith Chapel Cemetery, with Bro. Chuck Branch officiating.
Mrs. Dickson died Friday, Aug. 15 at her home. She was a homemaker.
Born December 3, 1952, in Cookeville, she was the daughter of Linzie and Loree (Sullivan) Clark of Livingston.
Survivors, in addition to her parents, include her husband, Jackie Dickson of Cookeville; three sons, Kevin Crawley, Steven Crawley, and David Dickson, all of Cookeville; a daughter, Shaqwana Crawley of Cookeville; a brother, David Clark of Cookeville; three grandchildren, Austin Crawley, Destiny Crawley, and Logan Shock; and many special nieces and nephews.

LARRY EDWARD ELDRIDGE
Funeral services for Mr. Larry Edward Eldridge, 57, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 17, 2003, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.
Burial was in Good Hope cemetery with James Thrasher officiating.
Mr. Eldridge died Thursday, Aug. 14 at his home. He was a certified public accountant for more than 30 years with a public practice in Livingston since 1971. He was a past officer of Upper Cumberland Chapter of TN Society of Certified Public Accountants, Livingston-Overton County Chamber of Commerce, and the Livingston Rotary Club. Mr. Eldridge was also the former editor and publisher of Overton County News in Livingston.
Born February 21, 1946, in Cookeville, he was the son of John Dillard "J.D." and Stella (Langford) Eldridge of Livingston. He was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Hinton Eldridge; and his grandparents, Florence (Pigg) and Paul Langford and Marion Sidney and Maniza Ethel (Masters) Eldridge.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his wife, Sue (Copeland) Eldridge of Livingston; a son, Larry Edward Eldridge II of Livingston; and a granddaughter, Aleia Megan Eldridge.
Pallbearers were Tom Janney, Perry H. Windle, Joel Upton, Hugh Pace, Tom Greer, Lynn King, Robert Craighead, and Blaine Eldridge.
Serving as honorary pallbearers were members of Upper Cumberland Chapter of Certified Public Accountants.

PAUL PRESTON GILBERT
Funeral services for Mr. Paul Preston Gilbert, 67, of Cookeville, were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2003, at Stevens Street Baptist Church in Cookeville.
Burial was in Fellowship cemetery with Bro. Tim Frank and Bro. Jimmy Arms officiating.
Mr. Gilbert died Friday, Aug. 15 at VA Hospital in Murfreesboro. He was a welder in the steel industry, a member of Stevens Street Baptist Church, and a United States Navy veteran of the Korean War.
Born May 25, 1936, in Pennington Gap, VA, he was the son of the late Tilmer and Ruth (King) Gilbert. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his special grandmother, Mommy King.
Survivors include his wife, Clarice (Vaughn) Gilbert of Cookeville; a son, Ron Gilbert and wife, Diane, of Cookeville; a daughter, Ronda Burns and husband, Larry, of Algood; two brothers, William Smith of Long Beach, CA, and Roy Smith of Indianapolis, IN; a sister, Linda Rose of Texas; four grandchildren, Ashley Gilbert and April Gilbert, both of Cookeville, and Ethan Burns and Katie Burns, both of Algood; and a special nephew, Bruce Smith of Indianapolis.
Pallbearers were Larry Burns, James Cyphers, David Henson, Bruce Smith, James Ledford, Roy Smith, Rick Vaughn, and Bill Masters.

VIVIAN KAY MARTIN
Funeral services for Mrs. Vivian Kay Martin, 40, of Hilham, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 17, 2003, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home.
Burial was in Turkeytown cemetery with Bro. H.S. Brown officiating.
Mrs. Martin died Wednesday, Aug. 13 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of Turkeytown Holiness Church.
Born July 16, 1963, in Jackson County, she was the daughter of Haskell and Nell (Boles) Cox of Hilham. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mounce and Ida Cox and Ricie and Reecie Boles.

JAMES "JIM" NORROD
Funeral services for Mr. James "Jim" Norrod, 65, of Hanging Limb, will be conducted at noon today, Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2003, from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home in Monterey.
Burial will be in PhillipsCemetery in Hanging Limb, with Rev. J.B. Harris and Rev. Billy Joe Hedgecough officiating.
Mr. Norrod died Sunday, Aug. 17 at Livingston Regional Hopsital. He was a heavy equipment operator with Swift Construction in Cookeville and was of the Baptist faith.
Born August 27, 1937, in Green Pond, he was the son of the late Fletcher and Viola (Lowhorn) Norrod. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Frank Swicegood, Ogle Norrod, Jesse Norrod, Dempsey Norrod, and Maurice Norrod.
Survivors include his wife of more than 41 years, Glenda Sue Norrod of Hanging Limb; two daughters, Rhonda Delk and husband, Mike, of Hanging Limb, and Marsha Buckner and husband, Darson, of Monterey; a son, Kevin Norrod of Hanging Limb; five grandchildren, Kaleb Buckner, Alex Delk, Kristen Delk, Chelsea Buckner, and Katie Delk; two sisters, Mary Norrod of Hanging Limb and Faye Thrasher of Monterey; two brothers, Ted Norrod of Hanging Limb and Charles D. Norrod of Nashua, NH; and his father-in-law, Barton Norrod of Hanging Limb.

EARL L. "BILL" PETERMAN
Funeral services for Mr. Earl L. "Bill" Peterman, 72, of Allons, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, 2003, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.
Burial was in Hunter Cove Cemetery, with full military honors conducted by the Honor Guard from James T. Davis, VFW Post 5062. Rev. Lester Flatt officiated.
Mr. Peterman died Thursday, Aug. 14 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He worked at Freeman Apple Oil Company and was a veteran of the United States Army.
Born October 21, 1930, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Walter and Lizzie (Watkins) Peterman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Wayne Peterman and Fred Peterman.
Survivors include a son, Ronald Peterman of Waukesha, WI; two daughters, Sandra Schessler and husband, Ronald, of Waukesha, WI, and Barbara Kelly of Hartland, WI; three step-sons, Larry Davis and Randy Davis, both of Indiana, and Eugene Davis of Allons; two step-daughters, Carolyn Dickson of Indiana and Diane Watkins of Allons; a sister, Ilene Maynord of Donelson; 15 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Larry Fleming, Kevin Fleming, Matt Fleming, Larry Davis, Todd Watkins, and Sam Davis.

GRADIS PARRIGIN
Funeral services for Mr. Gradis Parrigin, 79, of Afton, VA, were conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 17, 2003, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Burial was in Flatt Creek Cemetery.
Mr. Parrigin died Sunday, April 13 at a Virginia health care facility. During World War II, he served in the United States Army Air Force in China, Burma, and India, and was in the 14th Air Force, formerly called the "Flying Tigers". He also served with Merriels Maruaders in Burma and was honorably discharged as a corporal. He served in Tennessee National Guard with the rank of 1st Sergeant and was a life member of the Air Force Association in Washington, D.C. Mr. Parrigin also volunteered with the Boy Scouts of America for 28 years, serving as assistant scout master for eight years and serving on the Advancement Committee. He was vice chairman on the Eagle Board of Review for 22 years, having served 20 years as a Merit Badge counselor in six different subjects. He volunteered with the Steel Workers of America while employed with Ternes Steel Company and had served as vice president and president of Kiwanis Club in Roseville, MI.
Born October 11 1924, in Livingston, he was the son of the late William Thomas and Mary C. (Cooper) Parrigan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Reba Ester (Allred) Parrigin; and a son, Michael E. Parrigin.
Survivors include a daughter, Brenda Saunders and husband, Goodloe, of Afton, VA; a daughter-in-law, Judy Parrigin of Livingston; four grandchildren, Shannon Harvey and Michael Lee Parrigin, both of Livingston, and Jamie Saunders and Christy Saunders, both of Afton; and seven great grandchildren.

ROSIE MAE PHILLIPS
Graveside services for Mrs. Rosie Mae Phillips, 89, of Livingston, were conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2003, at Falling Springs cemetery with Rev. Ovle Tinch officiating.
Mrs. Phillips died Sunday, April 20 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a housewife and of the Church of Christ faith.
Born May 14 1913, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late John and Vicie Phillips. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Phillips; a son, Johnny L.D. Phillips; two brothers, Tilbert Phillips and Rob Phillips; and a sister, Loanie Dixon.
Survivors include a daughter, Louree Cantrell of Allred; two grandchildren, Joyce Flowers and John Steven Phillips; and two great grandchildren, Sarah and Joshua.

JAMES LONNIE WORLEY
Graveside services for Mr. James Lonnie Worley, 56, of Monroe, were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2003, at Red Hill cemetery in Monroe.
Mr. Worley died Tuesday, April 15 in Monroe. He was an auto mechanic and an Army veteran of the Vietnam Conflict.
Born February 15 1947, in Overton County, he was the son of Mable Pauline (Sells) Worley Boles and the late Mose Worley.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include two sons, James Lonnie Worley Jr. of Monterey and Rick Worley of Livingston; two sisters, Edna Hair of Monroe and Sue McCormick of Rickman; and three grandchildren.
