Funeral services for Mrs. Rose Mary Rumancik, 74, of Rickman, were conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Burial was in Shaw cemetery in Edmonton, KY, with Father Tom Perin officiating.
Mrs. Rumancik died Wednesday, Feb. 12 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a housewife and of the Catholic faith.
Born December 16, 1928, in Odessa, Saskatchewan, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Caroline Kuntz Reiss.
Survivors include four sons, Kenneth Rumancik of Livingston, Lionel Rumancik and Clarence Rumancik, both of Austin, TX, and Ray Rumancik of Danville, KY; a daughter, Vivian R. Rumancik of Silver Point; a brother, Leo Reiss of Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada; a sister, Coren Ripplinger of Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada; eight grandchildren; and a great grandchild.
Pallbearers were Randy Johnson, Derick Rumancik, Dan Johnson, Kenneth Rumancik, Lionel Rumancik, and Clarence Rumancik. Special care provided by Speck Funeral Home.
Myrtle (Carr) Stewart
Funeral services for Mrs. Myrtle (Carr) Stewart, 91, of the Sulfur Community of Overton County, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Burial was in Eckels cemetery with Bro. Jack Honeycutt officiating.
Mrs. Stewart died Thursday, Feb. 13 at Bethesada Healthcare Center in Cookeville. She was a teacher and a factory worker. She was of the Church of Christ faith.
Born February 26, 1911, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late William A. and Mary Susan (Handy) Carr.
Survivors include two sons, Dwight Stewart of Rickman and Champ Stewart of Monterey; three daughters, Doris Jean Richardson of Hazel Park, MI, Barbara Lively of Danville, KY, and Nancy Bilbrey of Urbana, OH; 10 grandchildren, Michael Richardson, David Richardson, Beverly Richardson Adams, Lori Lively White, Lisa Lively, Jill Lively, Eric Lively, Angela Walker, Rhonda Stewart, and Alan Bilbrey; and 8 great grandchildren.

Edgar Bruce "E.B.Ó White
Funeral services for Mr. Edgar Bruce "E.B." White, 54, of Livingston, were conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, 2003, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home. Burial was in White cemetery with Bro. Marlon Winningham officiating.
Mr. White died Wednesday, Feb. 5 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was affiliated with Monroe Christian Church.
Born April 30, 1948, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Edgar and Lela (Norris) White. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Roy White, Charles White, and Troy White.
Survivors include a sister, Clara Jean Reid of Mt. Sidney, VA; three brothers, Tommy White of Livingston, Jerry White of Cookeville, and Billy Joe White of Barberton, OH; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Daniel Kolaskai, Danny White, Greg Reid, Timmy White, Charles Carter, and James Parrott.

Leona (Chilton) MAYNORD
Graveside services for Ms. Leona (Chilton) Maynord, 64, of Livingston, were conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 12, 2003, at Fisk cemetery with Bro. David Beaty and Bro. Tim Tinkle officiating.
Mrs. Maynord died Tuesday, November 11 at her home. She was a retired KMA factory employee, a member of Allons Baptist Church, an avid sports fan, and a volunteer at Allons Elementary School.
Born January 9, 1939, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Brian and Vera (Hill) Chilton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Gwendolyn Staggs.
Survivors include three daughters, Tersa Ogletree of Nashville; Leta Wilson and her husband, Phillip, of Allons, and Kathy Carr and her husband, Tommy, of Alpine; a son, Jimmy Maynord and his wife, Wanda, of Cookeville; a sister, Genora Eldridge of Livingston; 11 grandchildren; a great grandchild; several nieces and nephews; and special friend and fiancŽ, Percy Hill.

GRACE (CHRISTIAN) RAMBERGER MCBRIDE
Funeral services for Mrs. Grace (Christian) Ramberger McBride, 82, of Grosse Pointe Woods, MI, and formerly of Overton County, were conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 15, 2003, from the chapel of A.H. Peters Funeral Home in Grosse Pointe Woods.
Burial was in Millers Church cemetery in Halifax, PA, with Royce Dickenson officiating.
Mrs. McBride died Wednesday, November 12 at Angela Hospice in Livonia, MI.
Born May 30, 1921, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Milton J. and Sarah Delilah Christian. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Guy Ramberger; her second husband, Francis McBride; 11 brothers and sisters; and a granddaughter.
Survivors include a daughter, Lorraine Andary; a son, Charles Ramberger; two sisters, Fannie R. Patterson of Monterey and Inez Anderson of Cookeville; 5 grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; and 15 step-great grandchildren.

AUDA M. PARRIGIN
Funeral services for Mrs. Auda M. Parrigin, 85, of Livingston, were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, November 17, 2003, at First United Methodist Church in Livingston.
Burial was in Good Hope cemetery with Rev. Craig Green officiating.
Mrs. Parrigin died Saturday, November 15 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a retired cook from Livingston Middle School and a member of First United Methodist Church.
Born May 16, 1918, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Benson and Louella (Bilbrey) Seber. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas H. Parrigin Sr.; and four brothers, Barney Seber, Aurby Seber, Ausby Seber, and Bernie Seber.
Survivors include a son, Tom Parrigin Jr. of St. Augustine, FL; two daughters, Sandra Roberts of Livingston and Cheryl Barnett of Ponte Vedra, FL; a sister, Dean Seber of Westland, MI; two grandsons, Rick Roberts of St. Augustine and Chris Woods of LaVergne; two great grandsons, Aaron Hanson and Noah Roberts; and several wonderful nieces and nephews.

NORMAN CLEDIS FLETCHER
Funeral services for Mr. Norman Cledis Fletcher, 75, of Allons, were conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home. Burial was in Mt. Pisgah cemetery with Bro. Dewitt Sampley and Bro. Ovle Tinch officiating.
Mr. Fletcher died Sunday, Feb. 9 at his residence. He worked in machine setup for 30 years with General Motors in Anderson, IN. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and a volunteer fireman with East Clay County Fire Department.
Born April 28, 1927, in Clay County, he was the son of the late Beaty and Cora (Winningham) Fletcher. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Willie D. Fletcher and Clurel Fletcher; and a sister, Nina Linder.
Survivors include his wife, Alma (Beason) Fletcher of Allons; two daughters, June Fletcher-Schiewe of Woodlawn and Devenna Miller of Gainesboro; four sons, Terry Fletcher of Allons, Randy Fletcher of Martinville, IN, Rickey Fletcher of Livingston, and Kent Fletcher of Monroe; two sisters, Beatrice Taylor of Anderson and Vonda Melton of Allons; a brother, Cloyce Fletcher of Allons; 14 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

PANZIE MARIE LINDSAY
Mrs. Panzie Marie Lindsay, 86, of Yorktown, IN, died Sunday, Feb. 16, 2003, at Waters of Yorktown after an extended illness. Burial was in Falling Springs cemetery in Allred. Mrs. Lindsay was a homemaker, a member of United Pentecostal Church in Livingston, and attended school in Overton County.
Born August 27, 1916, in Davidson, TN, she was the daughter of the late James and Mindy (Sells) Winningham. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Avery Lindsay; two sons, Gilbert Ray Lindsay and Keith Allen Lindsay; seven brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors include four sons and two daughters-in-law, Bobby and Patty Lindsay of Kokomo, IN, Samuel and Kathy Lindsay of Muncie, IN, Terry Lindsay of Monroe, and Charles Lindsay of Livingston; six daughters and four sons-in-law, Jane and Mark Hendsel of Muncie, Betty and Charles Shimer of Muncie, Barbara and Mark Clark of Yorktown, Anna Gray of Muncie, Sandra King of Muncie, and Phyllis and Richard Goodpasture of Yorktown; a sister, Treva Howard of Jamestown; 36 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; a great-great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

CHARLES D. MITCHELL JR.
Funeral services for Mr. Charles Denton "Dense" Mitchell Jr., 85, were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens with Rev. Craig Green officiating.
Mr. Mitchell died Sunday, Feb. 23 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a retired pharmacist, having worked for 20 years at Anderson-Haile Drug Store in Gainesboro before becoming one of the first pharmacists at Eckerd's Drugs in Cookeville. After his retirement, he continued to work part-time in Livingston. He was a native of Overton County. His ancestors, the Mitchells, Bates, Carlocks, and McDonalds, were some of the county's first settlers. He was educated at local schools, graduating from Livingston Academy after a stellar football career. He went on to graduate from pharmacy school in Atlanta and became the youngest pharmacist in the state of Tennessee in 1938. Mr. Mitchell served in the Hospital Corps during World War II as a pharmacist mate in the Navy on LST boats. He was at the landing at Normandy, and later at the landing at Iwo Jima. He was a life-long member of the Methodist church where he was active in the Men's Class until no longer able to attend.
Born March 5, 1917, he was the son of the late Denton and Grace (Howard) Mitchell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Glenn "Bill" Mitchell.
Survivors include two brothers, John Howard Mitchell of Oak Ridge and Dick Mitchell of Cookeville; six nephews; three nieces; several great nieces and nephews; and numerous cousins. Pallbearers were Ossie Mitchell, Dicky Mitchell, Robert Mitchell, John H. Mitchell, Jim Mitchell, Andy Mitchell, Scott Mitchell, and James Mitchell. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Carey Carlock, David Mitchell, Col. Tom Mitchell, Bob Mitchell, W. Glen Mitchell, Charles Mitchell, and R. Laken Mitchell.

MYRTIE MOODY
Funeral services for Mrs. Myrtie Moody, 91, of Cookeville, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, 2003, from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home in Cookeville. Burial was in Poplar Springs cemetery with Bro. Hillier Duke officiating.
Mrs. Moody died Friday, Feb. 21 at Masters Health Care Center. She was the owner of Moody's Grocery Store and of the Baptist faith.
Born October 20, 1911, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Early Arthur and Rasie Lee (Thompson) Hassler. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Laddie Moody; a daughter, Norma Spurlock; a sister, Mary Nash; and two infant brothers, Hobert Hassler and Johnny Owen Hassler.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Sam Jr. and Diane Moody of Cookeville; a daughter and two sons-in-law, Mary Jane and Randall Stoops of Cookeville and Bobby Spurlock of Florida; a sister, Minnie Ray of Cookeville; three grandsons, Timmy Spurlock, Ricky Lynn, and Jamie Moody; a granddaughter, Patty Scott; a step-granddaughter, Tera Brooks; three great grandchildren, Stephanie Spurlock, Cory Moody, and Samuel Scott; and a step-great grandson, Willis Brooks.

JUDY ANN (SHOEMAKE) SULLIVAN
Funeral services for Mrs. Judy Ann (Shoemake) Sullivan, 33, of Allons, were conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2003, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home. Burial was in McFerrin cemetery with Bro. Tim Sharp and Bro. Rick Frazier officiating.
Mrs. Sullivan died Monday, Feb. 17 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a factory worker most of her life and had worked at Advance Auto Parts. She attended Maxwell Chapel Church of God.
Born March 17, 1969, in Clay County, she was the daughter of the late Wilburn Lee and Estelle Mae (Sells) Shoemake. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Vinie and Homer Sells.
Survivors include her husband, Tony Sullivan of Allons; a son, Peyton Brock Sullivan of Allons; her father-in-law, Donnie Sullivan of Celina; her mother-in-law, Deloris Sullivan of Hilham; four sisters, Sue Coffman of Rickman, Linda Massingille of Celina, Rhonda Shoemake of Allons, and Michelle Harris of Livingston; four brothers, Gary Shoemake of Monroe, Billy Shoemake of Rickman, and Ricky Shoemake and Ronnie Shoemake, both of Allons; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Linda K. Venters, 54, of the Cravenstown Community in Overton County, were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, 2003, from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home in Monterey. Burial was in Green Hills cemetery in Alpine with Rev. Tony Barnett and Rev. Robbie Miller officiating.
Mrs. Venters died Tuesday, Feb. 18 at her home. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.
Born December 4, 1948, in the Cooktown Community of Overton County, she was the daughter of Allen and Lela (Norris) Cravens of Twinton. She was preceded in death by a nephew, Chad Cravens.
Survivors, in addition to her parents, include a daughter, Kimberly Young of the Cravenstown Community; three sons, Dewayne Abston and Michael Abston, both of Mayland, and Gregory Abston of Hanging Limb; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Pat and David Dunn and Kathy and David Norrod, all of Monterey; a brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Beth Cravens of Anderson, IN; 11 grandchildren; and 2 nieces, Amber and Shanon.

KENNETH TOMMY WHITE
Funeral services for Mr. Kenneth Tommy White, 64, of Rickman, were conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, 2003, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home. Burial was in White cemetery with Bro. Marlon Winningham and Bro. Mike White officiating.
Mr. White died Tuesday, Feb. 18 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. He was a telephone technician with Sprint Telephone Company, a Master Mason with Monterey Lodge 751 Free and Accepted Masons, and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was affiliated with Harris Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.
Born June 23, 1938, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Edgar and Lela (Norris) White. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Roy White, Charles White, Troy White, and E.B. White.
Survivors include a son, Timmy White of Monterey; a sister, Clara Jean Reid of Mt. Sidney, VA; two brothers, Jerry White of Cookeville and Billy Joe White of Barbarton, OH; two grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
