Funeral services for Mrs. Lela Sewell, 82, of Algood, were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, November 24, 2003, from the chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home in Algood.
Burial was in Algood cemetery with Bro. Sidney White officiating.
Mrs. Sewell died Friday, November 21 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Algood Church of Christ and owned and operated Lela's Beauty Shop in Algood since 1946.
Born January 8, 1921, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late James Willis and Beaulah Pearl (Harvey) Clark. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Arthur Sewell on August 23, 1988; a sister, Pauline Massar; and three brothers, Elmer Clark, Truman Clark, and Thurman Clark.
Survivors include two sons, Mark Sewell of Algood and John Sewell of Cookeville; a sister, Rose Reba Lee of Hilham; three brothers, Thomas Clark of Ohio, James Clark Jr. of Xenia, OH, and Billy Clark of Livingston; eight grandchildren, Ashley Sewell, Zachary Sewell, Robert Sewell, Dezarae Sewell, Lakashia Sewell, John Arthur Sewell, J.C. Sewell Jr., and Legina Jackson; and three great grandchildren.

IVA (MATHENY) SHORE
Funeral services for Mrs. Iva (Matheny) Shore, 67, of Lafayette, GA, and formerly of Overton County, were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 19, 2003, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.
Burial was in Pleasant Ridge cemetery with Chaplain Aline Summerli officiating.
Mrs. Shore died Monday, November 17 at her home. She was a beautician and was of the Methodist faith.
Born September 5, 1936, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Carlen and Mary Ethel (Walker) Matheny. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Gentry Matheny; and a grandson, Gary Buchanan.
Survivors include her husband, Myrvin L. Shore of Lafayette; two daughters, Vickie Buchanan and her husband, George, and Angela Heatherly, all of Lafayette; two brothers, Ernest Matheny of Pendleton, IN, and Jim Matheny of Gradyville; two sisters, Vesta Thompson and Fran Babb, both of Rickman; five granddaughters, Amy Bradley, Chrystel Morton, Nicole Whitener, Amber Chapman, and Kristen Chapman; and four great grandchildren, Kalen Bradley, Landen Bradley, Tiffany Chapman, and Tyann Chapman.
Pallbearers were George Buchanan, Jay Bradley, Heath Morton, Chuck Babb, Ernest Matheny, and Leroy Shore.

WILLIAM EVERETT "BILL" STONECIPHER
Funeral services for Mr. William Everett "Bill" Stonecipher, 79, of Columbia, SC, and formerly of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 20, 2003, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.
Burial was in Cookeville City cemetery with Rev. Tom Halliburton officiating.
Mr. Stonecipher died Monday, November 17 at Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia. He was a manager of customer service for IBM, a member of Red Bank United Methodist Church, and a veteran of United States Army Air Corps as 1st Lieutenant/Pilot of B-26 (1943-1945).
Born November 23, 1923, in Overton County, he was the son of the late John T. and Ida (Jones) Stonecipher. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Homer Stonecipher, Curtis Stonecipher, Walter Stonecipher, and John Stonecipher; and three sisters, Helen Smith, Marie Roberts, and Mina Stonecipher.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Stonecipher of Columbia; a daughter, Anita Ashley of Columbia; a sister, Janie Stephens of Livingston; two grandsons, Thomas Middlebrook Lane Jr. of Savanah, GA, and William Ashley of Columbia; and several nieces and nephews in Livingston and Murfreesboro.
Pallbearers were Tim Stephens, Phillip Stephens, Wayne Huckeby, Brad Simmons, Dan Parrish, and Cort Huffman.

THOMAS RANDALL BILBREY
Funeral services for Mr. Thomas Randall Bilbrey, 48, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, November 3, 2003, from the chapel of Rickman-Hall Funeral Home.
Burial was in Liberty cemetery with Nolen Cantrell and Bobby Roberts officiating. Mr. Bilbrey died Friday, October 31 at Livingston Regional Hospital.
Born February 23, 1955, in Overton County, he was the son of the late James Overton and Carrie (Dillon) Bilbrey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Ray Bilbrey.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Bilbrey of Livingston; three daughters, Sheila Walker, Kayla Bilbrey, and Lori Presley, all of Livingston; three sisters, Mary Stover of Livingston, Betty Davis of Algood, and Margaret Brown of Gainesboro; four brothers, Glen Bilbrey and Steve Bilbrey, both of Livingston, Harold Bilbrey of Hilham, and Teddy Bilbrey of Gainesboro; three grandchildren, McKenzie Walker, Macie Presley, and Trey Edwards, all of Livingston; an aunt, Pauline Bilbrey of Livingston; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Alpha C. Carmack, 96, of Cookeville, were conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, November 3, 2003, from the chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home in Cookeville.
Burial was in Campground cemetery with Dr. Charles McCaskey and Rev. Jonathan Clark officiating.
Mrs. Carmack died Friday, October 31 at Southern Tennessee Medical Center in Winchester. She was a homemaker, a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and a Golden Patron with Cumberland Presbyterian Women.
Born August 23, 1907, in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Mattie (Phillips) Barlow. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Carmack; and a sister, Sylvia Masters.
Survivors include a daughter, Betty Richardson and her husband, Jerry, of Winchester; four sons, Odell Carmack and his wife, Jesse, of Nashville, James Carmack and his wife, Eunetta, of Winchester, Bobby Carmack and his wife, Mary June, of Chattanooga, and Glen Carmack and special friend, Linda Ryan, of Cookeville; a brother, Herman Barlow of Cookeville; three sisters, Hattie Johnson of Hilham, and Lesby Carr and Lucille Lynn, both of Sparta; 8 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

STEVE A. DAVIS
Funeral services for Mr. Steve A. Davis, 80, of Johnson City, were conducted at 8 p.m. Monday, November 3, 2003, from the Morris-Baker South Chapel in Johnson City, with Rev. C. Bryant Collins officiating.
Burial was in Washington County Memory Gardens.
Mr. Davis died Friday, October 31 at his home. He was a retired maintenance worker, a Mason, a Navy veteran, and of the Freewill Baptist faith.
Mr. Davis was a native of Cranberry, NC, and had lived most of his life in Johnson City. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maggie (Burke) Davis; a daughter, Shirley Davis; a brother, Bynum Davis; and two sisters, Gladys Stonecypher and Pansy Baker.
Survivors include four sons, Dwight Douglas Young and his wife, Colleen, of Goldsboro, NC, Claude Steely Young and his wife, Patricia of Gray, Scott D. Davis and his wife, Elizabeth, of Jonesborough, and Danny Steve Davis of Elizabethton; two daughters, Charlotte Snider of Livingston and Helen Chappell of Jacksonville, FL; a sister, Elizabeth Holt of Elizabethton; 13 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

THOMAS LEROY "TOM" COFFMAN
Funeral services for Mr. Thomas Leroy "Tom" Coffman, 69, of Cookeville, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 2, 2003, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home. Burial was in Okolona cemetery with Bro. Bobby Gore officiating.
Mr. Coffman died Thursday, Feb. 27 at V.A. Hospital in Nashville. He was a carpenter and an oil, gas, and water well driller. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Born July 22, 1933, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Jacob Conrad and Sarah Belle (Masters) Coffman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Faye (Smith) Stover Coffman; and a brother, J.C. Coffman.
Survivors include two sisters, Iris Dean Poindexter and Bobbie Jean White, both of Livingston; a special friend, Margaret Smith of Monroe; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends. Pallbearers were Jack Poindexter, Steve Winstead, Danny White, Raymond Colson, Tim Reagan, Frank Ward, Troy Ford, and Charles Parrott.

LANDON OSBORNE "BUTCH" HAGY JR.
Funeral services for Mr. Landon Osborne "Butch" Hagy Jr., 59, of Newport, will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, March 5, 2003, from the chapel of Manes Funeral Home in Newport. Burial will be in Union cemetery with Father David Garrett officiating.
Mr. Hagy died Friday, Feb. 28 at St. Mary's Residential Hospice in Knoxville. He was a member of Episcopal Church of The Annunciation and a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam Conflict. He was educated at Virginia High School in Bristol, VA, and graduated from Belmont College with a degree in Business. His career included positions with First American National Bank of Nashville, First National Bank of Crossville, Union Bank & Trust of Livingston, and National Bank of Tennessee of Newport.
Born in Bristol, VA, he was the son of the late Landon Osborne and Carolyn (Huntsman) Hagy.
Survivors include his wife, Yvette G. Hagy of Newport; a son, Troy Lee Hagy of Omaho, NE; two daughters, Erika Leigh Hagy and Kelly Lynn Hagy, both of Newport; and a sister, Lee (Hagy) Cole of College Station, TX.

Funeral services for Mr. Jimmy Ledbetter, 67, of Crawford, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 2, 2002, from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home in Monterey. Burial was in Honey Springs cemetery in Crawford with Rev. Arnold Murphy officiating.
Mr. Ledbetter died Friday, Feb. 28 at his home. He was a coal miner.
Born February 7, 1936, in Crawford, he was the son of the late Milburn and Beulah (Lowhorn) Ledbetter.
Survivors include three sisters, Linnie Chilton and Ninnie Key, both of Crawford, and Nell Jones of Monterey; and two brothers, Dewayne Ledbetter and Ernest Ledbetter, both of Monterey.

Mrs. Looper died Sunday, Feb. 16 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. She was a factory worker and a member of Highland Freewill Baptist Church.
Born July 27, 1944, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Cordell and Otis (Ledbetter) Speck. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, A.B. Speck.
Survivors include her husband, Dennis Looper of the Pleasant Shade Community; three sisters, Kay Eldridge of Rickman, Mary Lou Boswell of Allred, and Gladys Bohannon of Livingston; two brothers, Cordell Speck Jr. of Rickman, and Cecil Speck of Livingston; a brother-in-law and four sisters-in-law, Braden and Violet Looper of Anderson, IN, Ina Speck of Nashville, Jonell Speck of Rickman, and Joyce Speck of Livingston; 12 nieces and nephews; and 28 great nieces and great nephews. Mrs. Moore died Monday, Feb. 24 at Bethesda Health Care in Cookeville. She was a homemaker.
Born July 6, 1922, in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Marion Thomas Welch and Josie Az. Whiteaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Charlie Eugene Moore; two sisters, Gladys Lenore Wilson, and Buncole Joyce Welch; and two brothers, Marion Thomas Welch and an infant brother.

Born January 3, 1923, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Tom and Myrtle (Newberry) Nelson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mable (Cook) Nelson; a sister, Eunetta Bowman; and three brothers, Milo Nelson, John T. Nelson, and Elmer Nelson.
Survivors include two sisters and four brothers-in-law, Beulah and Grady Bilbrey of Cookeville, Daisy and Helton Hickey of Carlton, MI, and Jim Whittaker and Bill Whittaker, both of Monterey; and two brothers and four sisters-in-law, Z.L.
