Funeral services for Mr. James Troy Finley, 68, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 7, 2003, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.
Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens with Rev. Larry Thomas and Rev. Ovle Tinch officiating.
Mr. Finley died Friday, December 5 at his home. He was a retired machine shop operator and a member of Allons Baptist Church.
Born February 28, 1935, in Putnam County, he was the son of the late Virgil and Notie (Sparks) Finley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, J.B. Finley and Bailey Finley.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Finley of Livingston; four sons, Troy Dale Finley, Cliff Finley, and Eddie Bays and his wife, Debbie, all of Dayton, OH, and Thomas Gore and his wife, Sue, of Livingston; three daughters, Alisha Finley of Livingston, Wilma Bullock and her husband, Bill, and Donna Collins, all of Dayton; two brothers, Charles Finley and his wife, Dolores, of Crossville, and Cordell Finley and his wife, Pearl, of Orlando, FL; special grandson and caregiver, Michael White; six other grandchildren, Keith Bullock, Melissa Bullock, Stacy Collins, Brian White, Kim Downing, and Kary Burlile; and five great grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Quality Home Health Benevolence Fund or Lazarus House Hospice.
Pallbearers were Doyle Looper, Bill Bullock, Keith Bullock, Frank Howard, Cory Looper, and Brian Fetters.

ELMA L. MABREY
Funeral services for Mrs. Elma L. Mabrey, 87, of Livingston, were conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, December 1, 2003, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.
Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens with Bro. Robert Boles officiating.
Mrs. Mabrey died Saturday, November 29 at Overton County Nursing Home. She was a housewife and of the Church of Christ faith.
Born May 19, 1916, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late John Buford and Sarah Mandy (Richardson) Kennedy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred P. Mabrey; four sisters, Ethel Mabrey, Devilla Smith, Hallie Rector, and Ruby Daniels; and a brother, Hobert Kennedy.
Survivors include a son, John P. Mabrey; six daughters, Ella Ramsey and her husband, Ray, Barbara Moss and her husband, Raymond, Faye Farnsworth and her husband, Les, Theresa Richard, Betty Hemschemeyer and her husband, Charles, and Elfreda Carmickle; a sister, Ruth Hicks; 14 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren.

JAMES RICHARD "JIM" MACKIE
Funeral services for Mr. James Richard "Jim"Mackie, 65, of Cookeville, were conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, December 5, 2003, from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home in Cookeville.
Burial, with full military honors by Putnam County Veterans Honor Guard, was in Oaklawn cemetery in Pomona with Bro. Kerry Young and Bro. Gary Taylor officiating.
Mr. Mackie died Tuesday, December 2 at his home. He served as a deacon at Hidden in Christ Fellowship, served in the United States Army, and was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous, celebrating 22 years of sobriety on November 11, 2003. Mr. Mackie was an office clerk for Dairy Queen in Cookeville and Smithville, and worked with the railroad and in insurance sales.
Born May 10, 1938, in Mt. Vernon, IL, he was the son of James Mackie of Clifton, IL, and the late Dorothy Imogene (Albrecht) Mackie. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Paul Bohon; and a brother-in-law, Dan Knoth.
Survivors, in addition to his father, include his wife, Juanita (Bradley) Mackie of Cookeville; three daughters, Cheryl Taylor and her husband, Lynn, of Humboldt, and Laura Bohon, and Teresa Burton and fiancˇ, William Rains, all of Cookeville; two sons, Steve Mackie of Cookeville, and Paul Mackie and his wife, Heather, of Jackson; two step-sons, Tom Privett and Marty Privett, both of Norman, OK; two step-daughters, Lorie Valadev of Moore, OK, and Robin Carpenter and her husband, Chris, of Edmond, OK; a sister, Judie Knoth of Clinton; 6 grandchildren; 14 step-grandchildren; and 2 step-great grandchildren.

PAT MATTHEWS
Funeral services for Mr. Pat Matthews, 46, of Hanging Limb, will be conducted at 11 a.m. today, Wednesday, December 10, 2003, from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home in Monterey.
Masonic funeral services were conducted Tuesday, December 9 at 8 p.m. from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Welch Memorial cemetery with Rev. David Harris officiating.
Mr. Matthews died Sunday, December 7 in Monterey. He was an employee of Tutco in Cookeville, an Army veteran, a member of Green Pond Masonic Lodge 703, and a member of Love Joy Baptist Church.
Born March 26, 1957, in Monterey, he was the son of Opal Spurlin Matthews of the Vines Ridge Community and the late Hobert Matthews. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Leslie Amanda Matthews; and a brother, Roy Dale Matthews.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include a daughter, Tabitha Dawn Matthews of Athens, GA; five sisters, Betty Jean Thompson of the Union B Community, Dean Neal, Frances Neal, and Ruth Looper, all of Monterey, and Sue Coffman of Cookeville; and three brothers, James Matthews of Hanging Limb, Junior Matthews of Vines Ridge, and Ricky Matthews of Cookeville.

WILLIAM MARTIN "BILL" CRABTREE
Funeral services for Mr. William Martin "Bill" Crabtree, 70, of Cookeville, were conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday Jan. 23, 2003, from the Cookeville chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Rev. Jay Hubbard officiating. Graveside services and burial were at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24 at Washington Park Memorial cemetery East in Indianapolis, IN.
Mr. Crabtree died Tuesday, Jan. 21 at Hamilton Health Care Standifer Place in Chattanooga. He was retired from Bryant Heating & Cooling, a United States Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, and of the Baptist faith.
Born December 30, 1932, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Hershel and Sarah (Dailey) Crabtree. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Katie Belle Crabtree.
Survivors include his wife of more than 50 years, Alma (Dillon) Crabtree, whom he married
July 5, 1952, in Livingston; two daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Bob Ramey of Indianapolis and Sharon and Jay Hubbard of Coolville, OH; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Lonnie Crabtree of Colony, TX, and Donnie and Donna Crabtree of Anna, TX; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Edna Webb and Beulah and Arvis White, all of Livingston; five grandchildren, Sincerity Faulkner, Jessica Martin, Jennifer Neff, David Crabtree, and Christina Crabtree; and two great grandchildren, Samantha Martin and Drew Martin.

HAZEL MARGUERITE FISHER
Funeral services for Mrs. Hazel Marguerite Fisher, 91, of Livingston, were conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home. Burial was in Hunter-Cove cemetery with Bro. Larry Thomas officiating.
Mrs. Fisher died Monday, Jan. 20 at Overton County Nursing Home. She was a restaurant cook and personal maid and a member of New Hope Wesleyan Church in Livingston.
Born March 20, 1911, in Napoli, NY, she was the daughter of the late Dwight and Jeannette (Waite) Fisher. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Arthur Fisher, Ernest Fisher, Stanley Fisher, Emmonds Fisher, and Raymond Fisher; three sisters, Blanche Fleckenstein, Mildred Burroughs, and Marie Fisher; and a grandson, Carl Lee Whitmore. Survivors include a daughter, Betty Solsbee of Livingston; a son, Clayton Whitmore of Chesapeake, VA; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Effie Inez Gillentine, 79, of Cookeville, were conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home in Cookeville. Burial was in Fellowship cemetery in Overton County with Rev. Fletcher Upchurch and Rev. Leonard Apple officiating.
Mrs. Gillentine died Wednesday, Jan. 22 at her home. She was a homemaker and affiliated with Gentry's Chapel Baptist Church.
Born December 13, 1923, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Eckley and Lula (Dennis) Maynard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Gillentine; and a daughter, Marietta Nash.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Bob Apple of Cookeville; five grandchildren, Jeanette Hackler, Teresa Fleming, Robert Apple, Tina Long, and Darrell Nash; and seven great grandchildren.

ELISE HILL
Funeral services for Mrs. Elise Hill, 69, of Rickman, were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Burial was in St. John cemetery with Bro. Marlon Winningham and Bro. A.J. Cox officiating.
Mrs. Hill died Saturday, Jan. 18 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a factory worker and a member of Allons Church of Christ.
Born May 3, 1933, in Clay County, she was the daughter of the late Burr and Venice (Colson) Thrasher. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Doyle Thrasher.
Survivors include her husband, Enloe Hill of Rickman; three brothers, Willie Thrasher and Randall Thrasher, both of Livingston, and Eddie Ray Thrasher of the Willow Grove Community; and three sisters, Juanita Langford and Tessie Harden, both of Livingston, and Lucille Melton of Carthage.
Pallbearers were Randy Thrasher, Steve Thrasher, Mark Thrasher, Danny Langford, Bobby Matthews, and Johnny Roberson.

SARA LANE "SALLY" RUSSELL HOLLOWAY
Ms. Sara Lane "Sally" Russell Holloway, 65, of Monroe, died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003, after a 10-month fight with lung cancer.
Born in Yazoo City, MS, she was the daughter of Delphin D. and Mary Robert Hill Russell. She raised four children in Baton Rouge, LA, Kentwood, LA, and Clinton, LA, before moving to Tennessee in 2001. When her last child left home, she returned to school to become a nurse, and worked at East Louisiana State Hospital. She leaves behind two daughters, Stacie Lane Holloway of Monroe, and Laurie E. Holloway of Nashville; beloved granddaughters, Kimberly D. Holloway of Prairieville, LA, and Katherine M. Holloway of Baton Rouge, LA; a devoted sister, Maridel Russell of Jackson, MS; a brother, Dr. Frank "Buddy" Russell (Donna) of Salem, OR; a daughter-in-law, Susan (Hal) Hopper of Prairieville; special friends, Deanna Lankford of Nashville and Dorothy Birch of Kentwood; and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a son, David. She loved to laugh and was an avid reader.
To honor her life, her daughters began "Mom's Books, " a program which provides new books to small libraries in Tennessee and other states where her many friends live. Services were private.

JANICE MARIE LOFTIS
Funeral services for Mrs. Janice Marie Loftis, 65, of Cookeville, were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003, from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home in Cookeville. Burial was in Smyrna cemetery with Pastor Bobby Davis officiating.
Mrs. Loftis died Saturday, Jan. 25 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was a homemaker and a member of Jere Whitson Home Demonstration Club. She was affiliated with Bangham Heights Baptist Church.
Born December 19, 1937, in Overton County, she was the daughter of Larue (Holman) Price of Algood and the late William B. Price.
Survivors, in addition to her mother, include her husband, James Roy Loftis of Cookeville; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Steven R. Loftis of Cookeville and Mark Edward and Teryl Loftis of Bloomington Springs; four daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Bob Meadows and Elaine and Steve Herda, all of Cookeville, Marcia and Roy Bell of Trussville, AL, and Lisa and Carl Jones of Algood; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom and Kay Price of Cookeville and Arnold and Frances Price of Algood; 10 grandchildren, Matthew Loftis, Seth Loftis, Misty Travis, Becky Meadows, Ashley Meadows, Marie Loftis, Holly Bell, Ryan Bell, Daniel Jones, and Ethan Jones; 2 great grandchildren; a nephew, Gary Wayne Bennett; and a host of additional family members.

Funeral services for Mrs. Curtis Marie (Dodson) Officer, 69, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, at First Christian Church in Livingston. Burial was in Good Hope cemetery with Rev. Robert Ziehmer, Rev. Dee Ledford, and Dr. Lyle Anderson officiating.
Mrs. Officer died Wednesday, Jan. 22 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was a land title researcher and a member of First Christian Church.
Born November 11, 1933, in Overton County, she was the daughter of Mary Ann (Ray) Dodson of Livingston and the late Tommy Curtis Dodson. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, A.F. "Pat" Officer Jr.; and a son, David Officer.
Survivors, in addition to her mother, include two sons, A.F. "Pat" Officer III and Michael Officer, both of Livingston; a daughter, Jane Ann Officer of Livingston; a brother, Kenneth Dodson of Rickman; four sisters, Joyce Windle and Ida "Crickett" Kessler, both of Livingston, Barbara Gilliam of Rickman, and Mary Teasley of Cookeville; and five grandchildren, Patrick Officer, James Officer, Elizabeth Phipps, Samuel David Officer, and Mary Katherine Officer.

Born July 24, 1913, in Clay County, she was the daughter of the late Jim and Evaline "Evie" (Hawkins) Stover. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Waddell; a son, Carl Lee Waddell; six brothers, Hershell Stover, Eddie Stover, Cecil Stover, Jessie Stover, Moses Stover, and Willie Stover; and five sisters, Agness Ford, Beulah Richardson, Stella Burroughs, Mattie Watson, and Eddress Anderson.
Survivors include four daughters and three sons-in-law, Evelyn and Buddy Sidwell and Edie Martin, all of Livingston, Gail and Tommy Crawford of Baxter, and Debbie and Larry Stone of Celina; a daughter-in-law, Patsy Waddell; 10 grandchildren, Michael Sidwell, Ricky Waddell, Barry Martin, Lisa Mullins, Marty Sidwell, Amy Harvey, Christy Waddell, Karen Crawford, Brandon Martin, and Matthew Crawford; a step-grandchild, Curtis Stone; 7 great grandchildren; Jared Mullins, Tara Mullins, Josh Waddell, Tiffany Waddell, Adam Martin, Sean Martin, and Donavan Harvey; 3 step-great grandchildren, Josh Payne, Allison Payne, and Mikayla Cole; and several nieces and nephews.
