Funeral services for Mrs. Opal E. Walker, 79, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26, 2003, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Burial was in Carter Bilbrey cemetery with Rev. Ovle Tinch and Rev. Mike White officiating.
Mrs. Walker died Friday, Jan. 24 at her home. She was a housewife and a member of Highland Baptist Church in Livingston.
Born April 29, 1923, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Vaudie Hammock. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Payton S. Brown; and a daughter, Shelby Jean Brown.
Survivors include her husband, Coleman Walker of Livingston; four sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Rita Walker, Larry and Jennifer Walker, Billy and Yevette Walker, and Gary and Helen Walker, all of Livingston; a daughter, Stella Brown of Livingston; and nine grandchildren, Steven Walker, Amy Sells, Brittany Walker, Dustin Walker, Derek Walker, Devin Walker, Heather Geesling, Kyle Walker, and Lucas Walker.
Pallbearers were her sons and grandsons, Roger Walker, Larry Walker, Gary Walker, Billy Walker, Dustin Walker, and Steven Walker.
Serving as honorary pallbearers were Derek Walker, Devin Walker, Kyle Walker, and Lucas Walker.

DANIEL BEECHER YOUNG
Funeral services for Mr. Daniel Beecher Young, 80, of Sparta, were conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27, 2003, from Hensley's Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. Burial was in Young cemetery with Rev. Freddie Savage and Rev. Bill Simmons officiating.
Mr. Young died Friday, Jan. 24 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a merchant and a United States Navy veteran of War II. He was an ordained deacon by the Freewill Baptist Association and a member of Hensley's Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.
Born December 2, 1922, in White County, he was the son of the late Will C. and Zemma (Knowles) Young. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Ellen (Taylor) Young; a daughter, Brenda Elaine Young; two sisters, Mary Evelyn Young and Margie Lorene Young; and five brothers, William Findley Young, Rhea Young, Paul Young, Oliver Young, and Clay Young.
Survivors include his wife, Christine (Barnes) Young of Sparta; three daughters and a son-in-law, Nelle Greulich and Zemmer Ellen Jenkins, both of Nashville, and Tellie and Michael Mullinix of Livingston; a son and daughter-in-law, Troy Daniel and Rita Young of Sparta; three step-daughters and two step-sons-in-law, Mary L. Young, Judy and Lloyd Young, and Antionette and Leaton Sullivan, all of Sparta; a step-son and step-daughter-in-law, Ed and Lillian Bain of Sparta; a sister, Bonnie (Young) Wills of Sparta; a brother, Grundy Lee Young of Sparta; 10 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

GILLIE LOU TALLEY
Funeral services for Mrs. Gillie Lou Talley, 87, of Cookeville, were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 4, 2003, from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home in Cookeville.
Burial was in Smith Chapel cemetery with Bro. Buddy Reeder and Bro. Gary Anderson officiating.
Mrs. Talley died Tuesday, December 2 at NHC Healthcare in Cookeville. She was a homemaker and attended Fairview Church of Christ.
Born April 23, 1916, in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Logan and Maggie (Underwood) Jackson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two children, Laura Marie Talley and Glenda Fay Talley; a brother, Harley Jackson; and a grandson, Randall Lynn.
Survivors include her husband, Arlis Talley of Cookeville; two daughters, Virginia Lynn and her husband, Kenneth, of Cookeville and Barbara Geesling and her husband, Bobby, of Hilham; a son, Jimmy Talley and his wife, Barbara, of Cookeville; a brother, Dewey Jackson and his wife, Ida, of Michigan; three sisters, Stella Pudlo of Ohio, Irene Ballard of Nashville, and Lena Warren of Cookeville; 7 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

CLIFTON WINNINGHAM
Funeral services for Mr. Clifton Winningham, 77, of Cookeville, were conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 4, 2003, from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home in Cookeville.
Burial, with full military honors, was in Zion Hill cemetery with Bro. Bobby Roberts officiating.
Mr. Winningham died Monday, December 1 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was a self-employed painter and a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Navy.
Born February 24, 1926, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Herman and Delta (Allred) Winningham. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Lavinnia Winningham and Maxine Winningham; two brothers, Clarence Winningham and Clyde Winningham; and a sister, Marie Neal.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Winningham of Indiana; two sons, David Winningham and Ricky Winningham, both of Indiana; a special friend, Beulah Young of Fairview; a brother, Elbert Winningham and his wife, Anna Mae, of Algood; and four sisters, Esther Thomason and her husband, Melvin, and Lola May Coffee, all of Rickman, Jewell Dillon of Algood, and Lorene Marrow of Indiana.
Pallbearers were Tim Coffee, Terry Coffee, Brandon Coffee, Michael Judd, David Dillon, and Floyd Harris.

RUTH (MASTERS) BROWN
Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth (Masters) Brown, 84, of Livingston, were conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Burial was in Ruth Chapel cemetery with Rev. Comer Hawkins and Rev. Newsome Harvey officiating.
Mrs. Brown died Sunday, Jan. 12 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Born October 10, 1918, in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Millard and Della (Barlow) Masters. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Brown; three sisters, Darlene Hubert, Vergie Smith, and Norma Loftis; and five brothers, Elmer Masters, Haskel Masters, Jack Masters, Willis Masters, and Roy Masters.
Survivors include two daughters, Sue Moore of Kokomo, IN, and Brenda Hough of Carmel, IN; four sisters, Irene Malone and Ruby Carlile, both of Cookeville, Pearl Ford of Ohio, and Lula Mae Hawkins of McMinnville; four grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

HOMER LEE COOPER
Funeral services for Mr. Homer Lee Cooper, 70, of Rickman, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12, 2003, from the chapel of Rickman-Hall Funeral Home. Burial was in Okolona cemetery with Roger Cooper officiating.
Mr. Cooper died Thursday, Jan. 9 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a carpenter.
Born November 12, 1932, in Overton County, he was the son of the late George C. Sr. and Abby Gail Cooper. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Stella Gene Cooper; and three brothers, Arlon Cooper, Claude Cooper, and James Cooper.
Survivors include his wife, Geneva Cooper; three sons, Timothy Cooper, David Cooper, and Donald Cooper; three daughters, Helen Dishman, Theresa Capps, and Sandra Scott; two brothers, George C. Cooper Jr. and Charles Cooper; two sisters, Allie Mae Green and Geneva Bilbrey; 11 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.

HUGH G. BARLOW
Funeral services for Mr. Hugh G. Barlow, 88, of Algood, were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2003, from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home in Cookeville. Burial was in Algood City cemetery with Bro. Richard Bond officiating.
Mr. Barlow died Sunday, November 30 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was a farmer, a member of Algood Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and a World War II veteran.
Born May 19, 1915, in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Henry Freeman and Clara Cleo (Berry) Barlow. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Diane Barlow and Wanda Carol Hawkins; two brothers, James Rudolph Barlow and Joe Marvin Barlow; and a sister, Ruby D. Chaffin.
Survivors include his wife, Trudy Zilpha (Thompson) Barlow of Algood; a daughter, Helen Swift and her husband, Jerry, of Cookeville; four brothers, William Barlow of Algood, Lovie Barlow of LaVergne, David Barlow and his wife, Margaret, of Mufreesboro, and James Barlow and his wife, Diane, of Smyrna; a brother, Curtis Barlow of Crossville; three sisters, Willard Brown of Hilham, and Pauline Koester and Margaret McCormick, both of Cookeville; and seven grandchildren, Christy Edmiston, Sheree Killebrew, Shawna Luffman, Aimee Ragland, Megan Barlow, Melissa Barnick, and Andrea Hawkins.

CLAUIS "FOX" BILBREY
Funeral services for Mr. Clauis "Fox" Bilbrey, 67, of Livingston, were conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2003, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.

Mr. Bilbrey died Sunday, November 30 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was a mechanic, an employee of Winningham Hardware, and was of the Baptist faith.
Born January 29, 1936, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Johnnie and Reba (Deck) Bilbrey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Clifford Bilbrey; and a sister, Mildred Bilbrey.
Survivors include three sons, Larry Bilbrey, Jerry Beason, and John Bilbrey, all of Livingston; three daughters, Sherry Warren of Smyrna, and Lorrie Harris and Cindy Bilbrey, both of Rickman; three brothers, Gene Bilbrey of Monroe, Jerry Bilbrey of Rickman, and Floyd Bilbrey of Crossville; four sisters, Lucy Wright and Juanita Kirksey, both of Madisonville, Nina Oakley of Monroe, and Irene Neal of Englewood; and 10 grandchildren.

ARLIS VERBLE KING

Mr. King died Wednesday, November 26 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He assembled parts at Livingston Pacesetters, Inc.
Born August, 19, 1943, in Overton County, he was the son of Veechel E. (Lawhern) King Conner and the late Allard D. King.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include four sisters, Virginia Mercer and L. Nell Stephens, both of Cookeville, Margie Sue Mercer of Gainesboro, and Paula Conner; five brothers, Arvil Bruce King of Carthage, Norman D. King of Livingston, Larry E. King of Cookeville, Lonnie A. King of Hilham, and Chris Conner; and several aunts, uncles, and other close family members and friends.
Pallbearers were Eddie Mercer, Timothy Mercer, Josh Mercer, Jonathan Mercer, Roy Lawhern, Ray Stephens, James King, and Terry King.

Mrs. Mabrey died Saturday, November 29 at Overton County Nursing Home. She was a housewife and of the Church of Christ faith.
Born May 19, 1916, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late John Buford and Sarah Mandy (Richardson) Kennedy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred P. Mabrey; four sisters, Ethel Mabrey, Devilla Smith, Hallie Rector, and Ruby Daniels; and a brother, Hobert Kennedy.
Survivors include a son, John P. Mabrey; five daughters, Ella Ramsey and her husband, Ray, Barbara Moss and her husband, Raymond, Faye Farnsworth and her husband, Les, Theresa Richard, and Betty Hemschemeyer and her husband, Charles; a sister, Ruth Hicks; 14 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Elise Hill, 69, of Rickman, were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Burial was in St. John cemetery with Bro. Marlon Winningham and Bro. A.J. Cox officiating.
Mrs. Hill died Saturday, Jan. 18 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a factory worker and a member of Allons Church of Christ.
Born May 3, 1933, in Clay County, she was the daughter of Burr and Venice (Colson) Thrasher. She was preceded in death by a brother, Doyle Thrasher.
Survivors include her husband, Enloe Hill of Rickman; and three brothers, Willie Thrasher and Randall Thrasher, both of Livingston, and Eddie Ray Thrasher of the Willow Grove Community.
