CARMEN MAY STOVER
Funeral services for Mrs. Carmen May Stover, 91, of Monroe, were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003, from Free Communion Church of Christ. Burial was in Richardson cemetery with Bro. Glenn Ledbetter officiating.
Mrs. Stover died Sunday, Feb. 2 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a furniture factory worker and a member of Free Communion Church of Christ.
Born May 8, 1911, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Ona V. (Winningham) Stover. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie C. Stover; and a grandson, Robbie Melton.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Ben and Kathy Stover of Jasper, TX; three daughters and sons-in-law, Nina and Raleigh Melton of Allons, Willa Dean and Odis Mayberry of Monroe, and Kay and Leonard Ledbetter of Livingston; a sister, Connie Smith of Deerfield, OH; 11 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 18 step-great grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Lonnie Melton, Brandon Melton, Mike Mayberry, Jeff Mayberry, Ricky Ledbetter, and Steve Poston.
Serving as honorary pallbearers were Andrew Stover and Jonathan Stover.

ROBERT JERALD GARRETT
Funeral services for Mr. Robert Jerald Garrett, 58, of Byrdstown, were conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 25, 2003, from the chapel of Crestlawn Funeral Home in Byrdstown.
Burial was in Story cemetery in Pickett County, with Bro. Hile Cummings and Bro. Johnny Davis officiating.
Mr. Garrett died Tuesday, December 23 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was a factory worker, a life-long farmer, and of the Baptist faith. He married
Brenda Marcum on September 18, 1968.
Born January 12, 1945, in New Castle, IN, he was the son of the late Waymon and Janie (Mullins) Garrett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Junior Garrett.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Garrett of Byrdstown; a daughter, Sharon Ruch and her husband, Chris, of Cookeville; four brothers, James Garrett and his wife, Lear, of Byrdstown, Lynn Garrett and his wife, Glenda, and Jerry Garrett and his wife, Sherra, all of Livingston, and Charles Garrett and his wife, Faye, of Corbin, KY; two grandchildren, Chastyn Ruch and Traylen Ruch, both of Cookeville; and a special sister-in-law, Wanda Edrington of Cincinnati, OH.
Pallbearers were Gene Neal, Wayne Clayborn, Gene Logan, Cooper Beaty, Bill Lee, Pete Lee, and Calvin Stearns.

JESSE JARVIS HANSEL
Funeral services for Mr. Jesse Jarvis Hansel, 89, of Baxter, were conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 27, 2003, from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home in Cookeville.
Burial was in Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. H.S. Brown officiating.
Mr. Hansel died Wednesday, December 24 at Mabry Healthcare in Gainesboro. He was a retired machinist with Springfield Machine Stamping, a farmer, and attended New Hope Community Church.
Born April 19, 1914, in Mt. Vernon, KY, he was the son of the late Jarvis and Martha (Halcomb) Hansel. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Kirby Lee Hansel; two sisters, Bessie Roukas and Essie Higgins; and five brothers, Charlie Hansel, Dewey Hansel, Virgil Hansel, James Hansel, and Ulysses Hansel.
Survivors include his wife, Ina Marie (Poston) Hansel of Baxter; two daughters, Glenda Caparo and her husband, Ron, of Roseville, MI, and Sandy Rodgers and her husband, Lee, of Bloomington Springs; four sons, Elza Hansel and his wife, Ruth, of Citrus Heights, CA, Alvin Hansel and his wife, Brenda, of Fruit Heights, UT, Jerry Bennett and his wife, Patty, of Plainfield, IN, and Randy Hansel and his wife, Jeanette, of Gainesboro; a sister, Loretta Poe of Danville, KY; 16 grandchildren; a host of great and great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

CARIE HITE
Funeral services for Mrs. Carie Hite, 60, of the Rock Springs Community, were conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 27, 2003, from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home in Monterey.
Burial was in Mineral Springs cemetery with Rev. Mike Kirby officiating.
Mrs. Hite died Tuesday, December 23 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She had owned and operated CarrieÕs Discount Clothing in Monterey and Cookeville, and was a member of Mineral Springs Freewill Baptist Church.
Born April 21, 1943, in Overton County, she was the daughter of Cora (Phipps) Bowman Tudor of the Rock Springs Community and the late Joe B. Bowman. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Bowman.
Survivors, in addition to her mother, include her husband, Cluster Hite of the Rock Springs Community; two daughters, Michelle Lusk and her husband, George, of Skidmore, TX, and Kim Reed and her husband, Bo, of Hanging Limb; a son, Jimmy Joe Clark of Manchester, KY; and seven grandchildren.

LINDA PERRY
Graveside services for Mrs. Linda Perry, 59, of Huber Heights, OH, were conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, December 26, 2003, at Concord cemetery in Hilham.
Mrs. Perry died Sunday, December 21 at Miami Valley Hospital in Ohio.
She was the daughter of Martha (Barlow) Allen of Huber Heights.
Survivors, in addition to her mother, include a son, Robert Torch; a daughter, Lisa Michelle Wilson of Huber Heights; and two sisters, Shirley Hoover and Joyce Rasmussen.

BERNARD TAYLOR
Memorial services for Reverend Bernard M. "Bernie" Taylor, were held Monday, October 13, 2003, at First and Central Presbyterian in Wilmington, DE.
Reverend Taylor died Wednesday, October 8, just six days short of his 97th birthday.
Born in Tallapoosa, GA, he was a graduate of Lafayette College, class of 1928, Union Theological Seminary in New York City, receiving an MA in divinity at Columbia University in 1931 and 1947. His pastorates were in Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Maryland, and Delaware.
While working for the Board of National Missions of the Presbyterian Church in the USA during the 1930s and Ô40s, Reverend Taylor was pastor of Christ Church Presbyterian in Alpine, and was pastor to students and faculty of the Alpine Institute. A rest home for patients recovering from tuberculosis was also under his care.
Later he served with the staff of the Alpine Rural Life Center (farm, forest, shop handcrafts, pottery, weaving, and wood carving); he also took his turn as chairman of the Dale Hollow Larger Parish, a group of Disciples, Methodists, and Presbyterians in eight churches and many preaching points in country school houses.
After leaving Alpine, Taylor was Pastor Emeritus of First and Central Presbyterian Church in Wilmington, DE, for 10 years.
His wife, Anne Justice Taylor, died in 1996. He was also preceded in death by a son, Bernard M. Taylor, Jr. and a step granddaughter, Amber Lynn.
He is survived by two sons, William Robin and his wife, Susan, of Bethesda, MD, and Michael Vance and his wife, Karen, of Ocean View, DE; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
DILLARD CALVIN "D.C." BILBREY
Funeral services for Mr. Dillard Calvin "D.C." Bilbrey, 78, of Alpine, were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 13, 2003, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home. Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens with Bro. Dewey Glenn Masters officiating.
Mr. Bilbrey died Saturday, Jan. 11 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a woodworking craftsman and a member of Allens Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.
Born May 21, 1924, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Joe and Lina (Sidwell) Bilbrey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Arlin Bilbrey and Rancy Bilbrey.
Survivors include his wife, Audrey Marie (Madwell) Bilbrey of Alpine; a daughter and son-in-law, Elevene and Charles McDonald of Hilham; a son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Brenda Bilbrey of Wauchula, FL; a grandson and his wife, Adam and Honey Bilbrey of Avon Park, FL; and two great grandchildren, Joseph Alexander Bilbrey and Sarah Elizabeth Bilbrey, both of Avon Park.
Pallbearers were Ernest Campbell, Charles McDonald, Ray Mabrey, Terry Morrow, Wayne Mabe, and Darrick Roberts.

ALFRED WILLARD GARRETT
Funeral services for Mr. Alfred Willard Garrett, 87, of Livingston, were conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, 2003, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Burial was in Good Hope cemetery with Rev. Ferrell Looper officiating.
Mr. Garrett died Monday, Jan. 6 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a farmer and of the non-denominational faith.
Born July 5, 1915, in Overton County, he was the son of the late John L. and Dolly Ledbetter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lassie (Cantrell) Garrett.
Survivors include five sons, Jerry Ray Garrett, Kenneth Garrett, Billy Walker, and Tony Walker, all of Livingston, and Jake Garrett of Alexandria, IN; three daughters, Mary Hunter and Lucille Smith, both of Anderson, IN, and Eudean McDonald of Livingston; two brothers, L.D. Garrett and Billy Garrett, both of Livingston; a sister, Hazel Chettle of Livingston; 17 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and a great-great grandson.

ROXIE MAY KEISLING

Mrs. Keisling died Thursday, Jan. 9 at her home. She was a housewife and a member of Antioch Church of Christ.
Born October 5, 1912, in Pickett County, she was the daughter of the late Spencer W. and Maggie (Wilburn) Conner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bethel Ray Keisling; two sisters, Lillie Holt and Lois Taylor; and three brothers, Dalton Conner, Jake Conner, and Malton Conner.
Survivors include four sons, Ray Keisling of Liberty, MO, Jerry Keisling of Safety Harbor, FL, Harold Keisling of Cookeville, and Dale Keisling of the Independence Community; a daughter, Janice Linck of Broken Arrow, OK; a brother, Earnest Conner of Crossville, IL; a sister, Eula Keisling of Marianna, AR; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.

Eastern Star services for Mrs. Opal Ruth Norris, 79, of Cookeville, and formerly of Alpine, were conducted at 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12 from Christ Church Presbyterian in Alpine. Burial was in Green Hill cemetery with Bro. David Beaty and Rev. Dee Ledford officiating.
Mrs. Norris died Friday, Jan. 10 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was a homemaker and retired nurse's aide. She was also a member of Eastern Star and Christ Church Presbyterian.
Born June 4, 1923, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late James C. and Mary (Stout) Deck. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arlie Norris Jr.; a daughter, Faye Holman; and a grandson, Johnny Donnelly.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Don and Ann Norris of Oak Ridge; two daughters and sons-in-law, Doris and Michael Stephens of Livingston and Marty and John Donnelly of Cookeville; a sister, Myrtle Jean Sells of Monroe; grandchildren, Jason Stephens and April Stephens, both of Memphis, Mary Beth Broome of Oak Ridge, Rachel and Bal Keene of Atlanta, GA, David Holman and Sonya Holman, both of Hallsville, TX, Dawn Holman of Austin, TX, and Darin Holman of Houston, TX; and three great grandchildren, Madison Holman, Haley Holman, and Payton Holman. ALMA GRACE COPELAND

Mrs. Copeland died Thursday, December 11 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was a housewife and a member of First United Methodist Church in Livingston.
Born March 21, 1916, in Red Boiling Springs, she was the daughter of the late Emmett H. and Clara Louise (Snow) Williams. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ward Edward Copeland.
Survivors include three brothers, Bill Williams and his wife, JoAnn, and Ray Williams and his wife, Marion, all of Hendersonville, and Dick Williams and his wife, Mary Ruth, of Concord.

CLYO DOUGLAS HUGHES
Funeral services for Mr. Clyo Douglas Hughes, 72, of Allons, were conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 11, 2003, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.
Burial was in Holly Springs cemetery with Bro. Chris Coil and Bro. A.J. Cox officiating.
Mr. Hughes died Monday, December 8 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was a truck driver and a member of Livingston Church of Christ. He went peacefully home to join his family of angels.
He retired from the trucking industry and returned to his beloved Tennessee to help care for his parents in 1987. Mr. Hughes was an avid NASCAR and racing fan, he loved fishing, and was quite proud to supply all that was needed for "the annual family fish fry" held Decoration Weekend. A deeply devoted and kind-hearted Christian, he found great joy in visiting and helping others.
Born March 16, 1931, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Paskell and Lizzie (Adams) Hughes. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Vadous Hughes and Glen Hughes; a sister, Carolyn Hughes; two grandsons, Jamie Lumsford and Jade Swanson; and a granddaughter, Cheree Hughes.
Survivors include two sons, Randy Hughes and his wife, Brenda, of Anderson, IN, and Tony Hughes and his wife, Carla, of Austin, TX; four daughters, Vickie Swanson and her companion, Roy Robinson, of Middletown, IN, Mickey Parsons and her husband, Tim, of Shoals, IN, Tammy Spears and her husband, Shawn, of Knightstown, IN, and Nikki Watson and her husband, Kevin, of Byesville, OH; a brother, Jess Hughes and his wife, Kay, of Anderson; two sisters, Gladys Rollins and her husband, Harvey, of Alexandria, IN, and Grace Foland and her husband, Bill, of Crossville; 15 grandchildren, Heidi Swanson, Hank Swanson, Travis Lunsford, Michelle Hughes, Justin Hughes, Aleshia Wilson, Dustin Henderson, Johnny Savage, Josh Wilson, Jeremy Wilson, Michael Stillions, Teiah Watson, Kevin Watson, Jeremy Watson, and Thomas Spears; and 8 great grandchildren, Dax Swanson, Lexi Swanson, Shelby Hughes, Jayden Hughes, Haley Lunsford, Collin Lunsford, Dylan Lunsford, and Dillion Savage.
