Services for Garfield Morelock, 75, of 6029 Lone Star Road, Kingsport, who went home to be with the Lord Wednesday morning (March 31, 2004), will be conducted at 11 a.m. today by the Rev. Orville Dolen and the Rev. Keith Williams at Mount Carmel Freewill Baptist Church.

The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow at Mount Carmel Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mount Carmel Freewill Baptist Church cemetery Fund, c/o Anna Mae Morelock, 7500 Lone Star Road, Kingsport, Tenn. 37660.

Royce Wayne Powers, 60, Kingsport.
Services for Royce Wayne Powers, 60, of Kingsport, who went to be with the Lord at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday morning (March 31, 2004), will be conducted at 8 p.m. today in Taylor Baptist Church, 385 Bancroft Chapel Road, with Pastor Shannon Powers officiating.

Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the church, or anytime at his residence.

Military graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday from East Lawn Memorial Park with American Legion Hammond Post No. 3/Gate City Post No. 265.

KINGSPORT - Roxie A. Buell Queen, 96, went to be with the Lord Thursday (April 1, 2004) at Indian Path Medical Center following an extended illness.

Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport.

Lillie Reynolds, 92, Lebanon, Va.
LEBANON, Va. - Lillie Vina Selfe Reynolds, 92, of the Hansonville community went home to be with the Lord, Thursday (April 1, 2004) in the Russell County Medical Center.

Born Sept. 12, 1911 in Russell County, a daughter of the late Henry Jackson Selfe and the late Millie Carroll Selfe, she was the wife of the late Samuel Patton Reynolds. She attended Chestnut Grove Community Church.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Madge Statzer; a granddaughter, Rachel Lynn Reynolds; three sisters, Ida Kennedy, Tilda Fields, and Mabel Selfe; and a brother, Walter Selfe.

Survivors include two daughters, Audra Jeane Kidd and husband Lonnie Kidd, Hansonville, and Millie Smith, Bristol, Va.; three sons, Rev. Bill Reynolds and wife Patsy Reynolds, and Evangelist Sammy Reynolds and wife Ada Sue Reynolds, all of Hansonville, and Eddie D. Reynolds and wife Carolyn Reynolds, Tazewell; a son-in-law, Rev. Walter Statzer, Bristol, Va.; 14 grandchildren, and 18 greatgrandchildren; a sister, Georgia Gobble, Mountain City, Tenn.; also several nieces and nephews.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Combs Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Olan Cassell and the Rev. Walter Statzer officiating.

The family will receive friends after 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home or at the home at anytime.

Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens in Abingdon.

Grandsons: Bobby Reynolds, Samuel James Reynolds, Joe Mitchell, John Mitchell, Jim Mitchell, Luke Statzer, Lee Statzer, and Chris Asbury.

Combs Funeral Service is serving the family of Mrs. Reynolds.

Thomas Rhoton, 61, Gate City, Va.
Graveside services for Thomas "Jimmy" Rhoton, 61, Gate City, Va., who entered into rest Sunday (March 28, 2004), will be conducted at 1 p.m. today at the Rollins Family Cemetery, Rye Cove, Va. Family and friends will meet at 12 p.m. at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Gate City Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Violet Sanders, 85, Wise, Va.
WISE, Va. - Violet Marie Colyer Sanders, 85, passed away Wednesday (March 31, 2004) at St. Mary's Hospital in Norton, Va.

She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Annie Bell Colyer; two sisters, Kanzie Colyer and Tessabell Carty; two brothers, Bo Colyer and Bill Colyer; her husband, William Benson Sanders; one son, Donald Benson Sanders Sr.; and one grandson, Donald Benson Sanders Jr.

Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Eddie Wayne and Louise Sanders; two daughters, Greta Sue Covell and Violet Louise Sturgill; a daughter-in-law, Jean Delores Sanders; five grandsons, David, Dennis and Billy Sanders, Todd Covell and Jonathan Sturgill; two granddaughters, Tia Marie Shaver and Karen Louise Sanders; three great-grandsons, David Scott Sanders, Matthew Ryan Sanders and Nicholas Stone Shaver; two great-granddaughters, Michelle and Brittany Sanders; three sisters, Lillian Bennett, Geraldine Pittman and Janice Owens; two brothers, Bobby Harold Colyer and Franklin Delano Colyer; several nieces and nephews and numerous friends.

Calling hours will be from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, Va.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. James Wilson officiating.

Burial will follow in the Sanders Family Cemetery.

Stella Sensabaugh, 75, Kingsport.
KINGSPORT - Stella Davis Sensabaugh, 75, passed away Wednesday (March 31, 2004) at Wexford House following a lengthy illness.

She was a member of Ross Campground United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gaines and Ollie Davis; her husband, Jack B. Sensabaugh; brother, Robert Davis; and sister, Louise Davis McClain.

Surviving are her daughter, Alice Nunley and husband Larry, Kingsport; sons, Daryl Sensabaugh, Church Hill, and Bruce Sensabaugh and wife, Etta, Greeneville; grandchildren, Tyler Nunley, Bryan Larkins and Steven Sensabaugh; sister, Peggy Walls, Church Hill; brothers, Bill Davis and Garland Davis, both of Kingsport, and Claude "Pedro" Davis, Conyers, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport.

Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. today in the chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Andy Sensabaugh officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ross Campground United Methodist Church Cemetery. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:50 a.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Center Association, P.O. Box 3301, Kingsport, Tenn. 37664.

Marie Squibb, 87, White Rock, S.C.
WHITE ROCK, S.C. - Mrs. Marie Fleenor Squibb, age 87, formerly of Telford, died Thursday (April 1, 2004) at The Lowman Home in White Rock.

Mrs. Squibb was a native of Washington County and daughter of the late Pierce and Stella Slagle Fleenor.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Squibb was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John W. Squibb in 1960; two sisters, Wahneetah Aucremann and Beatrice Robertson; and one brother, Jack H. Fleenor.

She was a lifelong Presbyterian, having been a member of Oakland, Leesburg and Covenant Presbyterian Churches. Mrs. Squibb received an Honorary Life Membership in Presbyterian Women.

Mrs. Squibb attended Tusculum College for two years, and then graduated from East Tennessee State Teacher's College. She was a teacher for 45 years, first in the Washington County schools, then from 1955-1985 in the Kingsport City Schools.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Rebekah and Steve Good, Irmo, S.C.; two grandsons, Steven Matthew Good, Charlotte, N.C. and David Andrew Good, Columbia, S.C.; one granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Good, Columbia, S.C.; sister and brother-in-law, Mildred and Harold Salyer, Bristol; sister, Joyce Tucker, Bristol; one brother and sister-in-law, James "Jim" C. and Edna Fleenor, Gray; one brother-in-law, Frank Aucremann, Roswell, Ga.; two sisters-in-law, Virginia Fleenor, Kingsport and Gladys Squibb, Tavares, Fla.; and many nephews and nieces of whom she was most fond.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home, Jonesborough.

Services will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday at the Covenant Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Sharon Amstutz officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday prior to the services.

Interment services will follow in Telford Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be nephews.

Dale Taylor, 92, Fall Branch.
FALL BRANCH - Elizabeth Dale Hensley Taylor, 92, of Fall Branch, went to be with the Lord Wednesday (March 31, 2004) at Indian Path Medical Center.

Born Feb. 19, 1912 in Washington County, Tenn., she had lived in Greene County, Tenn. most of her life. She was a farmer's wife, homemaker, and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Mrs. Taylor had been a member of Lovelace Missionary Baptist Church since 1928.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Foster Taylor (1990); parents, Eli and Mary Broyles Hensley; one sister, Hazel Hensley Carter; two brothers-in-law, W.W. "Bill" Carter, Glenn W. Bragg; one niece, Elizabeth Powers; and one nephew, Jerry Carter.

Surviving are two daughters, Evelyn Higgins and husband, Elmer, Ann Henderson and husband, Berchel, all of Fall Branch; four grandsons, Michael Parker, Rickey Parker, Alan Cross, and John Barham; one great-granddaughter, Sarah Parker; one great-grandson, Kevin Ian Reed; one sister, Margaret R. Bragg, Kingsport; one nephew, Benny Bragg, Kingsport; two great-nephews; two great-nieces; several cousins; and special and faithful friends, Nell Shipley and Ruby Baxter.

Calling hours are from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Fall Branch Chapel of Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes.

Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. today in the Fall Branch Chapel with the Rev. Paul M. Broyles, the Rev. W. Joe Wall, Jr., and the Rev. Allen Brummett.

Music will be provided by Rev. Allen Brummett.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lovelace Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

Jack D. Taylor, 77, Wise, Va.
WISE, Va. - Jack D. Taylor, age 77, passed away early Thursday morning (April 1, 2004) at his home.

He was born at Wise County, Virginia, and was a lifelong resident of the county. Jack was the owner and operator of the Colonial Trailer Park in Wise. He was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran.

He was a 32 Degree Mason and member of Hoge Lodge #8, Wise, Va., of Ancient Free & Accepted Masons, and was also a member of the Shrine. He had also been a member of the Royal Arch and the Commandry. Jack was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Wise Chapter # 56. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was a son of the late Robert and Mollie Stapleton Taylor and was also preceded in death by three daughters, Bertha Mullins, Juanita Williams, and Otellia Taylor; and three brothers, Charles Taylor, Clayton Taylor, and James Taylor.

Survivors include his wife, Estelle Taylor, Wise, Va.; two daughters, Linda (T.J.) Skorupa, Wise, Va., and Priscilla (John) Murphy, Louisville, Ky.; four grandchildren, Meghan Murphy, Elizabeth Woods, Shelly Perry, and Eddie Paul Perry; a great-granddaughter, Amber Perry; three sisters, Laura Jacobs, Wise, Va., Margaret Black, Detroit, Mich., and Leah Davis, Richmond, Va.; three brothers, Robert Taylor, Anderson, Ind., Doc Taylor, Herford, Ariz., and Bailey Taylor, Wise, Va.; several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Carty Funeral Home, Norton-Wise, Va., where a Masonic service will be held at 8 p.m.

Family and friends will meet at the funeral home Saturday at 10:30 a.m. to travel in procession to Powell Valley Memorial Gardens, Big Stone Gap, where interment and military rites will be given at 11 a.m.

Friends and family members will serve as pallbearers.

Mary Penn Thaxton, Kingsport.
KINGSPORT - Graveside services for Mary Penn Thaxton, who died Thursday (March l8, 2004) will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Oak Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. C. Edward Osborne officiating.

Diane Barnes, 68, Duffield, Va.
DUFFIELD, Va. - Diane Aileen Barnes, 68, of Duffield, entered into rest Tuesday (March 30, 2004) at her residence after an illness.

Born in Lee County, she was a daughter of the late Franklin and Eddie Mae Muncy Barnette. She was a retiree of Norris Industries and was of the Pentecostal faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Kaye Falin; three sisters and five brothers.

Survivors include her sons, Billy and wife, Jan Barnes of Duffield, and Dickie and wife, Karen Barnes of Duffield; daughter, Casey and husband, David Vaughn of Kingsport; brothers, Bascom Barnette of Spring Valley, Ohio, Joe Barnette of Clinton, Tenn., and Rufus Barnette of Hay Market, Va.; seven grandchildren, Shawn Barnes, Christy Keaton, Brandon Isom, Kayla Briana Barnes, Danielle Falin, Matthew Barnes and Joseph Falin; three great-grandchildren, Jordon, Tristan, and Michael Isaiah; several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. today at The Duffield Funeral Home at Thomas Village.

Graveside services will be conducted 10 a.m. Friday at Flag Pond cemetery in Blackwater with Bro. Harry Moore Jr. and Pastor Stephen Vanzant officiating.

Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. for procession to the cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Billy Barnes, David Vaughn, Dickie Barnes, Jamie Stanley, Matthew Barnes, and Brandon Isom.
