Charles Christian, 54, Keokee, Va.
KEOKEE, Va. - Charles Franklin Christian, 54, died Thursday (Nov. 25, 2004) at Lonesome Pine Hospital, Big Stone Gap, Va.
Charles was a very loving husband, father and grandfather.
He was a lifelong resident of Keokee and served in the Army.
He was a member of the UMWA local 1976. He was formerly employed by Westmoreland Coal Co. for 16 years. He was founder and president of the Lee County chapter of RACES Organization.
He was an avid ham operator. He was a member of the Pennington Rescue Squad and was a former member of the Appalachia Rescue Squad.
Charles was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Keokee.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence "Ern" Christian; father-in-law, Buster Johnson; infant brother and sister; grandparents Dora and Dudley Russell and Charlie Christian and Bertie Phillipps.
Surviving are his wife, Ora Christian, of the home; his mother, Marion "Susie" Christian, Exeter; daughters, Melanie Christian, Norton, Va., and Kim and husband Dusty Estep, Keokee, Va.; granddaughters, Alecia and Carissa Estep; mother-in-law, Helen Johnson, Big Stone Gap, Va.; brothers, Jimmy Lee Christian, Virginia Beach, and Ray Christian, Exeter; sisters, Helen Ernetta Keeth, Louisville, Ky., Doris Ann Lawson, Exeter, and Jewel Baker, Big Stone Gap; and several loving nieces and nephews.

Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Bill Hughes and the Rev. Ray Goode officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Sunday at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens, Big Stone Gap. Family and friends are asked to assemble at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Lillie J. Frazier, 94, Sopchoppy, Fla.
SOPCHOPPY, Fla. - Lillie J. Frazier, 94, died Tuesday (No. 23, 2004) in Medart, Fla.
She was born in Clinchport, Va., and was a resident of Sopchoppy since 1992. She was a retired bookkeeper and a homemaker. She was a member of Sopchoppy Southern Baptist Church.
Surviving are three sons, Philip H. Frazier and wife Leta J. of Rogers, Minn., Luke Frazier and wife Joyce of Sopchoppy and Samuel D. Frazier and wife Barbara of St. Peters, Mo.; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Irma Lee Rowland and Irene Bradley, both of Kingsport.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. today at Harvey-Young Funeral Home in Crawfordville, Fla.. Burial will be in the Lake Ellen Cemetery, Medart, Fla.

William H. Harrison, Kingsport.
KINGSPORT - William H. Harrison passed away at home Wednesday (Nov. 24) from Parkinson's Disease.
Born Jan. 18, 1916 in Grand Island, Neb., Bill, as he was known to all, graduated from Iowa State University and began a 45-year career with Eastman Kodak in 1936 as a chemical engineer in Rochester, N.Y.
Married Nov. 30, 1940 to Emilia Marie Winiarski, Bill and Win moved to Kingsport and Tennessee Eastman in 1942. After a long career in the purchasing department, he retired from Tennessee Eastman as Vice President of Supply and Distribution in January 1981.
Bill was a member of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity and the National Purchasing Agents Association, where he served in several capacities at the national level.
He was also an active member of St. Dominic's Parish.
He was an avid golfer and his yard and flower gardens were his favorite hobby.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Josephine Harrison, and his son, Fred Joseph Harrison.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Emilia; two daughters and son-in-laws, Christine (Harrison) and Kenneth J. Dwyer II of Orlando, Fla., and Margaret (Harrison) and Kenneth R. Wolfe of Villa Hills, Ky.; daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Harrison, of Knoxville; and three grandsons, Patrick William Harrison and Andrew Brendan Harrison, both of Knoxville, and Benjamin Wyatt Harrison Wolfe of Villa Hills, Ky.

A Christian wake prayer service will follow at 8 p.m. Friends are welcome to visit the family at home as well.

Arbuta "Boo" Harvey, Dallas, Tex.
DALLAS, Tex. - Arbuta "Boo" Harvey. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who was always there with a smile, hug, and a kiss. "Boo" loved to dance with her sweetheart - her husband of 57 years. They waltzed through life together as one.
Born Nov. 5, 1927 in Kingsport, she passed away Nov. 24, 2004 in Dallas, Tex.
She was a member of Schreiber United Methodist Church, Lady Elks and Women of the Moose.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Garney Mack Williams and Alba Victoria Williams.
She is survived by her husband, Ken Harvey; daughters, Rhonda Treadaway and Terri Barrada; sons, Fred Harvey, Jr., Jeff Harvey; grandchildren, Jeff, Brent, Blake, Spring, Chrystal, Chase, Nicholas; and great-grandchildren, Emily, Amy, and Luke.

Ernie Hill, 54, Elizabethton.
ELIZABETHTON - Ernest Marshall "Ernie" Hill, 54, formerly of Kingsport, passed away Thursday (Nov. 25, 2004) at Wellmont Holston Valley Hospital due to a lengthy illness.
He was born in Kingsport and a graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School. He has been a resident of Sullivan County most of his life.
Mr. Hill retired from the Texaco Corporation Southeast Division and was currently employed with Brandon Oil as Director of Operations. Ernie was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose.
He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Hill has a background in gospel singing from his dad's involvement with several groups.
Preceding him in death are his father, Alfred Lee Hill; paternal grandparents, Ernest and Ethel Mowdy Hill; and maternal grandparents, Marshall and Eva Dunn Hicks.
Surviving are his wife, Christine M. Hill, Elizabethton; mother, Louise Hicks Hill, Kingsport ; son, Ashley Hill, Bristol, Tenn.; stepson Jeff Herrmann, Elizabethton; two grandsons, Tyler Hill and Cory Hill; special brother, Alfred "Wade" Hill, Kingsport; several cousins and a host of other family members and friends also survive.

JACKSON, Ga. - Jeanette Kindle, 67, passed away Nov. 24, 2004.
Mrs. Kindle was a member of Eagles Landing Church of God and was a member of the AARP.
Surviving are two daughters and their spouses, Kathy and Rickey Morris of Ellenwood and Karen and Stacy Birchmore of Jenkinsburg; two brothers, John Adkins of Carrollton and Eddie Adkins of Pell City, Ala.; a sister, Wanda Burrell of Atlanta; three grandchildren, Misty and Mickey Morris and Chad Bialik; and also nieces and nephews.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pope Dickson & Son Morrow Chapel, Morrow, Ga., with the Rev. Barry Garland officiating.
Interment will be at the Sherwood Memorial Park.
Lucy King, 86, Lebanon, Va.
LEBANON, Va. - Lucy Kate King, 86, died Thursday (Nov. 25, 2004) at Russell County Medical Center.
A daughter of the late Jim Cumbow and the late Josie Litton Cumbow, she was the wife of the late James Emit King.
She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sons, Johnny Wayne King, Tandy King and Dello King; and three sisters, Mayme Cumbow, Inez Cumbow and Mary Belle Patrick.
Survivors include two daughters, Fern Puckett and husband Beecher, Cleveland and Joyce Harless and husband Ronnie, Glade Springs, Va.; four sons, Leon King and wife Mary and Dollen King and wife Kathy, all of Lebanon, J.W. King and wife Janet, Kingsport and Preston King and wife Dynona, Gulf Port, Ms.; special friend and neighbor, Jean Murphy; 18 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
The body will be taken to the residence, 518 Old Fincastle Road, Lebanon where friends may call.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Combs Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Russell Baldwin and the Rev. Lester Sexton officiating. Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery.
Grandsons and Ancil Murphy will serve as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Cleveland Life Saving Crew.

ROGERSVILLE - Cora Louise Knox, 80, passed away Thursday (Nov. 25, 2004) at Holston Valley Medical Center following a brief illness.
She was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Homer (Cobe) Knox; daughter, Ruby Nell Burton; mother, Nancy Crawford; father, George Mayo; brother, J.D. Mayo; and sisters, Ella House, Mattie Sue Mayo and Aurora Bruner.

Mrs. Long was a life long resident of Church Hill and was a member of McPheeters Bend Baptist Church. She was a homemaker.She was preceded in death by her parents, Kyle H. and Buna Smith Long.
She is survived by one son, Jimmy Wayne Long, Elizabethton; one grandson, Jackie Wayne Long; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Ellen and Willard Ryans, Ruby Arnold and Hubert Begley and Nancy Gray, all of Church Hill and Carla Higgins, Kingsport; one brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth H. and Gaynell Long, Church Hill; several nieces and nephews.
