DRYDEN, Va. - Bill Gilbert, 71, went to be with the Lord on Sunday (Jan. 30, 2005) at Lee Regional Medical Center in Pennington Gap, Va.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Jinnie Surber; grandfather, Bill Surber; father, Charlie Gilbert; and by his mother, Otie Freeman.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Verna Gilbert of Dryden, Va.; two daughters, Billie Ann Statzer and husband Roger of Dryden, Va., Tonya Renee Boldon and husband Jim Sr. of Stickleyville, Va.; three grandchildren, Earl Gene Lowery Jr. and wife Tiffany of Dryden, Va., Cody Gilbert of Dryden, Va., Brittany Statzer of Stickleyville, Va.; three step-grandchildren, Jimmy Boldon Jr. and wife Tammy of Tazewell, Tenn., Don Boldon and wife Angie of Dryden, Va., Della Mallon and husband Walter of Winchester, Va.; three great-grandchildren, Alexis Skyla Russell of Keokee, Va., Alex Mathew Chase Lowery of Dryden, Va., William Ethen Blake Lowery, due at any time; and longtime friend, Earl Gene Lowery Sr.; and many other loving friends; one sister, Jean Bridges and husband, Richard of Cumberland, Md.

Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Kenneth Ellis and Rev. Shawn Allfen officiating.

Committal graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Powell Valley Cemetery, Dryden, Va. Those attending are asked to meet at the funeral home by 9:15 a.m. to go in procession.

ROSE HILL, Va. - Lucille Campbell Hassett, 56, passed away Sunday (Jan. 30, 2005) at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Jefferson City, Tenn.
She had lived in Rose Hill 26 years and was of the Pentecostal faith.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Campbell; and one uncle, Harvey Campbell.

KINGSPORT - Worley Wesley Hubbard, 96, of Eastern Star community, went to be with the Lord Sunday (Jan. 30, 2005) at his home.
He was born in Scott County, Va., but was a resident of Kingsport most of his life.
Mr. Hubbard was a farmer and a member of Eastern Star Freewill Baptist Church for over 50 years.
His parents, Ira and Bertie Ann Hubbard; and a sister, Bertha Hurd, preceded him in death.
Surviving are his wife of over 70 years, Evie Hubbard, of the home; a daughter, Janice Barry and husband, Eddie, Kingsport; a son, Ira Hubbard and wife, Sandra, Kingsport; two grandsons, Todd and Jay Hubbard; one great-grandson, Brayden Hubbard; a brother, Ike Hubbard and wife, Faye, Jonesborough; and two nieces, Gwen Bucher and Becky Weaver, both of Jonesborough.

KINGSPORT - Douglas Michael "Mike" Johnson, 56, passed away Sunday (Jan. 30, 2005) at Bristol Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.
Born in Clinchco, Va., Mike had been a resident of the Bristol Nursing Home for the past several years. He was a Vietnam veteran, having served with the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Ray Johnson.

KINGSPORT - Wallace Kibler, 92, Kingsport, went to be with The Lord on Sunday morning (Jan. 30, 2005) at his home unexpectedly.
Born in Clamorgan, Va., he had resided most of his life in Kingsport. He was a member of Mafair United Methodist Church.
Mr. Kibler retired from Tennessee Eastman after 34 years of service. He was a charter member of the Crossings and a founding member of Ridgefield's Country Club. Mr. Kibler was an avid golfer and an accomplished musician, having played the violin with the original Frank & Mack Show.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Cora Kibler; first wife, Nettie Kibler; infant son, Stephen Ross Kibler; two brothers, Richard Kibler and J.B. Kibler; sister, Sara Jeffers; and grandson, Joseph Brian Lee.

William S. Kilgore, 74, Kingsport.
KINGSPORT - William S. Kilgore, 74, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday (Jan. 30, 2005) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
He was born on June 13, 1930 in Scott County, Va., to Robert and Reba Kilgore. He was a veteran of the Korean War where he served as a medic. He traveled and worked all over the U.S.A.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Reba Kilgore; a sister, Norma Jean; two brothers, Darius Kilgore and John (Junior) Kilgore; and his mother-in-law whom he loved dearly, Mary Absher.
Survivors include his children, Beverly Newland of Johnson City, Towma Williams and husband Phil of Kingsport, Billy Kilgore of Tevares, Fla., and Jeanie Kalmback of Silver Springs, Fla.; four grandchildren, Melissa Greene, Kimberly Stapleton, Kristi Camo and Jamey Williams; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Elliott Kilgore and wife Shirley and Fred Kilgore and wife Virginia; and a special friend and neighbor, Willie.

MIDDLEFIELD, Ohio - Marcia Gail Chapman Mast, 40, passed away Thursday (Jan. 20, 2005) at Geauga Community Hospital in Ohio from complications of multiple sclerosis.
She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Chapman; sister, Judith Chapman; paternal grandparents, Orbin and Maxine Chapman; and maternal grandparents, Pat and Dora Egan.
