Alma Carter Reynolds, 81, Piney Flats.
PINEY FLATS - Alma Myrtle Carter Reynolds, 81, of Piney Flats, passed away due to cardiac arrest on Sunday (Feb. 20, 2005).
She was born in Sardis, S.C., to John Milton Carter and Corinna Belle Hudson of Sardis, the youngest of 12 children.
She is survived by three sisters, RosaLee Carter of Sardis, Gwendolyn Carter Stiles of Little Rock, Ark., and Evelyn Carter Jones of Sumter, S.C.
She is the widow of Dr. Leslie Boush Reynolds Jr. and mother of Alma Mary Reynolds (Jackie) Woldering of Euclid, Ohio, and Margaret Mary Reynolds (Jack) Sonnemann of Tunbridge, Tasmania, Australia. She had three grandchildren, Christina Elisabeth Sonnemann of Tunbridge, Ruth Ellyn Woldering of Annapolis, Md., and Thomas George Reynolds Woldering of Blacksburg, Va.
Mrs. Reynolds was a devout Catholic and member of St. Dominic Parish of Kingsport. She was a graduate of Winthrop College for Women (now Winthrop University), Rock Hill, S.C., Class of 1945. She received her Dietician's license from the Medical College of Virginia where she met her husband Leslie.
Although she was a very private person, her devotion to her husband, her family, to God and all He created made her famous. As a dietician in the 1970's she worked for The American Heart Association as one of the pioneers of low-fat dieting. As a homemaker, she made certain nothing ever went to waste years before recycling became important to the rest of the country. She was loved by all who knew her and will be truly missed.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12 noon Friday (March 11, 2005) at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 2517 John B. Dennis Highway, Kingsport.
Funeral Mass will be held at 12 noon Friday at the church with the Rev. Charles Burton officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Mountain Home National Cemetery.

Mary Helen Savage, 81, Jonesville, Va.
JONESVILLE, Va. - Mary Helen Carter Savage, 81, of the Flatwoods area of Jonesville, Va., died on Thursday (March 3, 2005), after a brief illness.
She was the wife of William F. Savage and daughter of the late Washington Smith Carter and the late Kathleen Merriman Carter of Jonesville, Va.
Born in Lee County, she did both her undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Kentucky. She also taught school in Kentucky, Ohio, and Virginia. She was a member of the Flatwoods United Methodist Church, the Women's Society of Christian Service, the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Order of the Eastern Star. For 23 years prior to her husband's retirement, they lived in the Washington, D.C. area.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert E. Carter; and her sister-in-law, Rhea L. Carter.
Surviving are her husband; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Greg Cornett of Kingsport; a son and daughter-in-law, William and Rana of Ft. Leavenworth, Kans.; along with grandchildren, William Blane Cornett, Morgan Maye Savage, and Cody Carter Savage.
She loved her family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:30 p.m. today at the Flatwoods United Methodist Church in Jonesville, Va.
Services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. today at the church with the Rev. Jim Marshall officiating.

KINGSPORT - L.B. Stacy, Jr., 65, of Goodview Drive, went to be with the Lord at 8 a.m. Friday (March 4, 2005) at Indian Path Medical Center following an extended illness.
He retired after 34 years of service from Holston Defense Corp. where he was a locksmith. L.B. was an avid fisherman and loved woodworking.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Priscilla Stacy (Aug. 2001); and one sister, Linda Spurlock.
Surviving are one daughter, Revena Stacy, Unicoi; two sons, George Stacy, Unicoi, and Charles Stacy and wife, Regilla, Mount Carmel; three grandchildren, Miles Stacy, Darin Brandt, and Kaisha Hickey; his parents, L.B. Stacy Sr. and Ann Watterson Stacy, Hyden, Ky.; four sisters, Erma Kemble, Lexington, Ky., Deanna Stacy, Dallas, Tex., Teresa Stacy, Lexington, Ky., and Kim Stacy, Willisburg, Ky.; one brother, Gregory Stacy, Lexington, Ky.; several nieces and nephews; and a host of dear friends.

KINGSPORT - Eula "Sissy" Locklear Steele, 49, Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Friday night (March 4, 2005) at Indian Path Medical Center after a brief illness.
She attended New Life Freewill Baptist Church.
Sissy was a loving mother and sister and loved doing karaoke with her family and spending time with her family.
Preceding her in death were her mother, Margaret Hall; father, Kyle Morelock; daughter, Crystal Johnson; brother, Harold Adams; brother-in-law, David Steele; her nanny, Ella Mae Honaker; two half sisters, Bill Hite and Jackie Bishop; and two half brothers, Dewey Morelock and Sammy Morelock.
Surviving are her dearly beloved husband, Michael Steele; children, whom she loved so dearly, Chance Johnson and fiancee, Rachel Greer, and Ronald Locklear; sisters, Belva Hutson, Nickelsville, Va., Edith Franklin and husband, Ron, Fall Branch, Janey Brewer and husband, Ron, Kingsport, and Beulah French, Kingsport; brothers, Henry Hall and wife, Jan, Sulphur Springs, and Lonnie Hall, Wartburg, Tenn.; half sisters and half brothers, Rosie Holland, Irene Adams, Juanita Lane, Ilene Ferguson, Carolyn Carter, Kyle J. Morelock, George F. Morelock, and Roy D. Clarence Turner, 66, Bristol, Tenn.
BRISTOL, Tenn. - Clarence "Fireball" Turner, 66, of 949 Meadow View Road, Bristol, Tenn., died Saturday (March 5, 2005) at his residence following a brief illness.
A native of Benhams, Va., he was a son of the late C. Arnold and Leona Green Turner. He was retired from Holston Defense after working for over 19 years.
Mr. Turner was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. He was an avid sports fan, and loved NASCAR and billiards.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Andrew Turner; and one sister, Virginia Balthis.
Survivors include two sons and daughter-in-law, Curtis Lee Turner, Kingsport, Michael Wayne and Kathy Turner, Bristol, Tenn.; two stepdaughters and spouses, Betty and Sammy Ford, Elizabethton, Glenda and Fassell Iman, Bangladesh, India; three sisters and spouses, Mabel and Lewis Guinn, Johnson City, Marjorie Waldrop, and Betty and Elby Stanley, both of Bluff City. Four grandchildren, eight stepgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today in the chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Bluff City Chapel, or other times at the residence.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Bluff City Chapel, with the Rev. Steve Guinn officiating.
The graveside service and interment will follow at Sunrise Cemetery, Bluff City. Military honors will be presented by the Tennessee National Guard.
