Ronnie Lee Willis, 38, Coeburn, Va.
COEBURN, Va. - Ronnie Lee Willis, 38, died Friday (March 4, 2005) at Bristol Regional Medical Center, Bristol, Tenn.

Mr. Willis was of the Old Regular Baptist faith.

Survivors include his parents, Roger and Shelia Willis of Pound; son, Jacob Willis of Pound; daughters, Amanda Willis and Breanna Willis, both of Pound; sister, Pamela Kiser and husband Timmy of Pound; special niece, Rhianna Willis of Pound; special nephew, Jonah Kiser of Pound; special great-niece, Shantal Derricha Willis of Pound; his fiancee, Pamela Harvey of Coeburn, Va.

Calling hours are after 5 p.m. Monday at Fairview Old Regular Baptist Church, Pound, Va., with Evening services at 7 p.m.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church with Elder Willie Cantrell, Elder Trinkle Mullins and Elder Carl Mullins officiating.

Interment will follow in Levi Cantrell Cemetery, Pound, Va.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Baker Funeral Home, Pound, Va., is entrusted with the care of Ronnie Lee Willis.

Marie Alley, 79, Gate City, Va.
Services for Marie Alley, 79, of Route 3, Gate City, Va., who passed away Thursday (March 3, 2005), will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel, Weber City, Va., with Pastor Patrick Johnson officiating.

Music will be provided by Dale Smith.

Calling hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and anytime at the residence.

Interment will follow at Holston View Cemetery.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Bobbie Anderson, 77, Rogersville.
ROGERSVILLE - Bobbie Marie Davis Anderson, 77, formerly of 179 Stanley Valley Road, passed away Wednesday (March 2, 2005) at St. John's Healthcare in Gray following an extended illness.

She was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County and was a homemaker.

She was a member of Looney's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester John Anderson Sr. (2003); one son, Scott Anderson; her parents, Bert and Annie Pratt Davis; and five brothers.

Surviving are her daughters, Wanda Bruner and her husband, Bobby, Surgoinsville and Audrey Mahoney, Tempe, Ari.; son, Lester John Anderson Jr. and wife Pauline, Piney Flats; grandchildren, Robby Barton, Scotty Anderson, Johnathan Barton, Carol Rimer, Cindy Winegar, Miles Mahoney and Kelvin Mahoney; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mildred Burton, Rogersville and Faye Barnette, Kingsport; also several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Carter-Trent Funeral Home of Church Hill.

Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel with Elder Fred Gilreath officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Piney Grove Cemetery, Surgoinsville. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery by 1:20 p.m.

A special thank you goes out to the staff of St. Johns Healthcare for the care they gave to Bobbie.

Karen Hill Bassett, 46, Fall Branch.
FALL BRANCH - Karen Hill Bassett, 46, passed away Thursday (March 03, 2005) at Holston Valley Medical Center from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

She was born in Sullivan County on May 23, 1958 and was the daughter of Sallie Boggs Hill and the late Floyd Hill. She received her B.S. Degree from ETSU School of Nursing and was a registered nurse employed with Indian Path Medical Center.

Mrs. Bassett was a member of First Assembly of God Church, Kingsport.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Barbara Cockrell and Rosalee Hill; niece, Shannon Bassett; brothers-in-law, Johnny M. Bassett and Tommy Bassett.

Surviving are her husband, Jimmy G. Bassett, of the home; mother, Sallie Hill, Kingsport; sisters, Mrs. David (Linda) Carr, Blountville and Mrs. John (Mary) Thompson, Pineville, Ky.; brothers, David Hill and wife Janet, Gate City, Va., Elmer Hill and wife Judy, Clinchport, Va., and Merle Hill and wife Sabina, San Lorenzo, Calif.; several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. today at First Assembly of God Church, 2213 Brandon Lane, Kingsport.

Services will be conducted at the church on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Carl Kelleher officiating.

The body will lie in state one hour prior to services.

Music will be provided by Pastor Bobby Self, Eric Donahue, and Debbie Browning.

Interment will follow services at Shepherd-Bowen cemetery in Mabe community.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Hill, Brian Hill, Mathew Hill, Chad Bassett, Rick Miller, Phil Lockhart, Randy Ketron, and Eric Donahue.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Karen Bassett Benevolent Fund For Single Mothers, c/o First Assembly of God Church, 2213 Brandon Lane, Kingsport, Tenn. 37660.

Colonial Funeral Home, Weber City, Va. is in charge of arrangements.

Bruce P. Bloomer Sr., Church Hill.
CHURCH HILL - Bruce P. Bloomer Sr., 84, Ripley Lane, went to be with the Lord late Friday afternoon (March 4, 2005) at Bristol Hospice House.

He was a local businessman having owned Bloomer's Jewelry for over 50 years in the Kingsport area.

Survivors and arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Carter-Trent Funeral Home of Church Hill.

Roxie Hensley Brooks, 96, Kingsport.
KINGSPORT - Mrs. Roxie Adeline Hensley Brooks, 96, died Friday (March 4, 2005) at the Wexford House.

Mrs. Brooks made her home with her daughter in Kingsport. She was a native of Middlesboro, Ky., and made her home in Mulberry, Ind., from the early 1940s until the late 1990s.

She was a member of Mulberry Baptist Church and had been a sunday school teacher for several years.

She was the daughter of the late Herman and Rinda Noe Hensley and was also preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Brooks in 1972.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Owings, Kingsport; a son, David Harold Brooks, West Lafayette, Ind.; six grandchildren, Charles Brooks, Maryville, Tenn., Martha Lawson and Mary Beth Strickler, both of Kingsport, David H. Brooks II, Lafayette, Ind., Evelyn (Sissy) Brooks, Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Amanda Brooks, West Lafayette, Ind.; eight great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday at Kendricks Creek United Methodist Church in Kingsport with Rev. John Hackney officiating.

Burial will be in Memorial Gardens in West Lafayette, Ind., at a later date.

Memorials may be made to Kendricks Creek United Methodist Church, 1000 Kendrick Creek Road, Kingsport, Tenn. 37663.

Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport is serving the Brooks family.

Joe D. Carter, 78, Hiltons, Va.
Services for Joe Dougherty Carter, 78, of Hiltons, Va., who went to be with the Lord late Wednesday afternoon (March 2, 2005), will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church, Hiltons, Va. with the Rev. Sam Neeley and the Rev. Will Shewey officiating.

The body will lie in state one hour before the services on Sunday at the church.

Calling hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Scott County Funeral Home, Weber City, Va.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Trevor and Regan Keller, Matthew Dickerson, Joshua and Jacob Jones and Tucker Jett serving as pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers will be Raymond McClain, Jerry Hensley, Pat Henry, G.C. Matlock, Bobby Starnes, Tommy Starnes, Jack Branch, Kevin Jackson, John Carter Cash, Johnny Wolfe, Bayard Goode, Bud Tolley, Jim Bowlin, Paul Hartsock, Marty Stuart, Tom T. Hall, Jerry Larkey, Dale Jett, Don Jett, Dan Stanley, Burdette McConnell, George Orthey and Tom Patterson.

These arrangements have been made through the Carter-Trent/Scott County Funeral Home of Weber City, Va. for the Carter family.

Orland Cline, 80, Church Hill.
Graveside services for Orland E. Cline, 80, 107 Elm St., Church Hill, who went to be with the Lord at 7 p.m. on Wednesday (March 2, 2005), will be conducted at 10 a.m. today at the Larkins cemetery (Stanley Valley).

Pallbearers will be nephews of Mr. Cline.

Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home by 9 a.m. to go in procession to the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Valley Center United Methodist Church, c/o Marcel Gibbons, 152 Shipley Road, Church Hill, Tenn. 37642.

Carter-Trent Funeral Home of Church Hill is in charge of arrangements.

Geraldine H. Draper, 89, Johnson City.
JOHNSON CITY - Geraldine H. Draper, 89, passed away Sunday (Feb. 27, 2005) at Appalachian Christian Village Health Care Center.

Memorial services will be held at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 212 Sunset Drive, Johnson City on Sunday, March 13, 2005 at 3 p.m. with the Rev. James Nipper officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to Our Savior Lutheran Church, 212 Sunset Drive, Johnson City, Tenn. 37604.

Michael England, 44, Jonesville, Va.
JONESVILLE, Va. - Michael David England, 44, went to be with the Lord on March 3, 2005. He passed away at his residence.

He was a member of Thompson Settlement Baptist Church. He attended Thomas Walker High School and was active in the band. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, Kelly Michael England; his parents, Clarence and Annie England; a brother, Danny Lee England; and an infant brother and sister.

Surviving are his wife of 23 years, Jan England of Jonesville, Va.; three brothers, Wayne England of Cincinnati, Ohio, Jimmy England of Channelview, Tex., Clarence England Jr. of Rose Hill, Va.; four nieces; three nephews and several great-nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Arney-Mullins Funeral Home in Jonesville, Va.

Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Charles Long officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in the Mt. Moriah cemetery in Jonesville, Va.

Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10 a.m. to go to the cemetery in procession.

Nannie Fannon, 87, Kingsport.
KINGSPORT - Nannie Mary Jackson Fannon, 87, passed away Friday (March 4, 2005) at Wexford House in Kingsport.

Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Colonial Funeral Home.

Ingle Greear, 84, Coeburn, Va.
COEBURN, Va. - Ingle Greear, 84, died Friday (March 4, 2005) at Ridgecrest Manor in Duffield, Va.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Maynard Greear; her parents, Ellis L. and Viola Sutphin Young; daughters, Delores "Dotty" Hylton and BettyLouise Blankenbecler; brothers, Joseph Clarence Young, Virgil Young and Sidney Young; grandson, Robert Leslie Blankenbecler.

Survivors include her daughter, Kathryn Blevins, Coeburn; sons-in-law, Gary Blankenbecler and Garry Blevins, both of Coeburn; granddaughters, Vickie Hylton Marshall, Adamstown, Md., Jody Leigh Hylton and Elisha Marie Hylton, all of Coeburn; grandsons, Robert Maynard Blevins, Raleigh, N.C., Toby Lee Blevins, Brandon Blanckenbecler and Joshua Blankenbecler all of Coeburn; six great-grandchildren.

Calling hours are after 6 p.m. today at Estes Funeral Home.

Services will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Wayne Perry and Rev. Marty Puckett officiating. The family will meet at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Temple Hill Memorial Park in Castlewood for the burial.

Dewey "Lee" Jenkins, 63, Kingsport.
KINGSPORT - Dewey "Lee" Livingston Jenkins, 63, formerly of Ashland, Ky., passed away on Thursday (March 3, 2005) at his residence.

He was born April 20, 1941, a son of the late Admiral Dewey and Beulah Whisman Jenkins. He served in the U.S. Air Force for nine years. He was an Avator Master, Touch for Health and a Reiki Master. He was retired from Equitable Resources, worked in medical sales, and was recently medically retired from Cingular Wireless.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Tom Jenkins, Sam Jenkins, and one half-brother, James Jenkins.

Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Marie Netts Jenkins; one son, Michael Jenkins; one sister, Mary Adams of Ashland, Ky.; three brothers, John Jenkins of Ashland, Ky., Stanley Jenkins of Ironville, Ky., and Frank Jenkins of Summit, Ky.; and many nieces and nephews.

There will be no services. His wishes were to have his body donated to science so that others may have a chance to live as he has.

The staff of Oak Hill Funeral Home is serving the Jenkins family.

John Koger, 77, Rogersville.
ROGERSVILLE - John James Koger, 77, died Thursday (March 3, 2005) at UT Medical Center, Knoxville, following a brief illness.

A direct descendant of Joseph Rogers, Mr. Koger was a member of Rogersville Methodist Church where he was a lifelong choir member. He retired from AFG Industries.

Mr. Koger was also a member of the Rogersville Kiwanis Club.

Wood carving and square dancing were among the hobbies he enjoyed.

Mr. Koger was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Walker Koger; parents, John Carroll and Jennie Rogers Koger.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda Brewer and husband, Frank of Greenville, N.C.; son, David Koger and wife, Regenia of Surgoinsville; sister, Marian Slaughter and husband, Dr. Thomas Slaughter of Rogersville; three grandchildren, Joshua D. Koger, James D. Brewer, and Dr. Genny M. Holcomb; three great-grandchildren, Lauryn E. Koger, Cara K. Hannel, and Brice M. Copeland; three step grandchildren, Tonya Hannel, Jamie Jones, and Melissa Copeland; several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Broome Funeral Home, Rogersville.

Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Charles Harrison and Rev. Carl Jones officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Highland Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, Southeast Affliate, Living Legacy Partnership, P.O. Box 409410, Atlanta, Ga. 30384-9410.
