Mildred G. Worfe, 77, Duffield, Va.
DUFFIELD, Va. - Mildred G. Worfe, 77, passed away Tuesday morning (March 29, 2005) at Bristol Nursing Home following a long illness.
She was a retired teacher with the Scott County Board of Education and was of the Methodist faith.
She was born a daughter of the late W. Rhea and Monnie Quillen Worfe on Dec. 18, 1927 in Wise County, Va.
Surviving are two brothers, Frank Worfe and wife Lola of Duffield, Va., and Fred Worfe of Sherwood, Ark.; nieces, Charlotte Byrd of Church Hill and Aleena Worfe of New York, N.Y.; nephew, Kristofer Worfe of Angleton, Tex.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday at Scott County Funeral Home, Weber City, Va.
The Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Buddy Legg officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice in her memory.

KINGSPORT - Frank Charles, 91, was called home by the Lord to be with friends and loved ones at 9:24 a.m. Monday (March 28, 2005) following a period of declining health.
Frank was born in Warren County, Ill., and moved to Kingsport in 1933. He was an employee of Tennessee Eastman Company retiring from A.Y. Maintenance as a senior mechanic. He was a member of the TEC Camp Club and former member of the C.B. Club.
He attended Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church.
His parents, Fred E. and Effie C. Charles; first wife, Anna Marie Charles; second wife, Florence Ellis Charles; son-in-law, David E. Frye; grandson, James R. Frye; great-grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Yakley, Billy Ellis and Brittney Ellis preceded him in death.
Surviving are daughters, Mrs. David E. (Gloria) Frye, Church Hill, Mrs. Harold (Frances) Shoemaker, Mount Carmel, Mrs. Ronald (Lela) Shupe, Waynesville, Mo., Mrs. Harold (Faye) Smith, Church Hill, Mrs. Enas (Brenda) Lord, Kingsport; sons, Wendell G. Charles, Rossford, Ohio, Phillip Ellis, Church Hill, Walter Ellis Jr., Kingsport; 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father and sister.

JONESVILLE, Va. - Mary Lee Garrett, 77, of Jonesville, passed away Monday (March 28, 2005) at UT Medical Center in Knoxville.
She was born April 7, 1927 in Lee County, Va., the daughter of the late Joe and Willie Napier Garrett. She was a member of Millers Chapel United Methodist Church.
Mary graduated from Jonesville High School in 1945 and attended Knoxville Business College. She lived and worked in Knoxville for 43 years and retired from Tennessee Valley Authority in 1988. After retiring, she returned to Lee County to live.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Georgia Garrett Eagle; four brothers, Lawrence, William Henry, Andrew, and Odis; one nephew, Burley Eugene Dowell.
She is survived by two sisters, Thelma Jean Garrett of Jonesville, Vilene Garrett Dowell of Russellville, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews.

WEBER CITY, Va. - Margaret J. Gray, 85, passed away Thursday, (March 17, 2005) at Brian Center in Weber City where she had been residing for a few years.
She was born in New Orleans, La., on Oct. 1, 1919 and was the daughter of the late Otto S. Jessen and Louise Stevens Jessen. She was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Gray in 1996; and daughter, Sandra L. Hall in 2003.
Surviving are her son and daughter in law, Bill and Linda Gray, Cornelius, N.C.; grandchildren, Alyssa Hall, Russell Gray, Jacqueline Ruse; great-grandchildren, Blake Hall, Cody Ruse, Heidi Ruse, Carter Ruse, Cooper Ruse, Megan Gray, Madison Gray, Morgan Gray.
Memorial services will be conducted at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, April 1, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Bob Cloud officiating.

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - George P. (Junior) Harber, 75, died Sunday (March 27, 2005).
He was born on Nov. 26, 1929 to Ruby (Sprinkle) and George P. Harber in Pennington Gap, Va. He served our country proudly during the Korean Conflict. He and his wife, Wenoa, had been married
for 52 years.
He was preceded in death by both parents; and one daughter, Kathy Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Wenoa Harber, of the home; son, Jerry Harber of Oklahoma City, Okla.; one brother, Jack Harber and his wife, Freda of Kingsport; and two nephews, Michael and Brian Harber.
Services to remember him will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Church of the Savior, 5600 N.W. 63rd Street, Oklahoma City, Okla. 73132.
