KINGSPORT - Tommy Morelock, 51, of the Beech Creek community, died Monday afternoon (Oct. 24, 2005) at his home after a brief bout with cancer.
Born in Rockford, Ill., he had resided in Beech Creek most of his life.
His parents, Reevie and Sylvania Morelock, preceded him in death.
Surviving are two sisters, Connie Strong and husband, Don, Gate City, Va., Bonnie Hicks and husband, Joe, Marion, N.C.; four brothers, Donnie Morelock and wife, Christine, Onnie Morelock, Ronnie Morelock, and Robert Morelock and wife, Mary, all of Rogersville; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Fall Branch.
Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Fall Branch Chapel with Rev. Lewis Meade officiating.
Roy Dolen will provide music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Mt. Carmel Freewill Baptist Church cemetery in Rogersville. Those attending the graveside service should meet at the cemetery by 10:50 a.m.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.

Teddy Lynn Peregoy Jr., 29, Gray.
GRAY - Teddy Lynn Peregoy Jr., 29, 784 Lakeridge St., died unexpectedly at home on Thursday (Oct. 20, 2005).
He was the biological son of Teddy Lynn Peregoy Sr. and adopted son of Lena Mae Barnes Peregoy and the late Brown L. Peregoy Jr. He was a 1995 graduate of Daniel Boone High School and had worked construction.
In addition to his adopted father, he was also preceded in death by his infant sisters, Michelle Elizabeth Peregoy and Elizabeth Marie Peregoy.
In addition to his adopted mother, he is survived by three brothers, Jason Peregoy of Tiptonville, Tenn., Christopher Peregoy of Johnson City, and Tim (Dawna) Peregoy of Jonesborough; two sisters, Sara Louise (Ricky) Gardner of Gray, and Karen Fay (Kenny) Davis of Watauga; special cousins, Melissa Reed, Susan Stipes, Joey Castle, Tonya Davis, Timbo and Brandon Peregoy, Daniel Bolinger, and Daniel and Anthony Gardner; special friends, Carla, Travis, and Willie Peters; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Calling hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Gray Funeral Home.
Services will follow at 7 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Robert Reed and Tim Cross officiating.

Jay Lloyd Vermillion, Gate City, Va.
GATE CITY, Va. - Jay Lloyd Vermillion died Monday morning (Oct. 24, 2005) at his home, 801 Quillen Drive.
He was the only son of Sophia Elliott and Henry C. Vermillion, deceased. He grew up in Scott County, was educated at Shoemaker High School and Emory & Henry College where he was a member of Beta Lambda Zeta social fraternity.
He was a veteran of World War II and sustained injuries during the invasion at Normandy.
He was a member of First Broad Street United Methodist Church, where he served in many capacities. He was a member of the Greer Memorial Sunday School class.
He retired from Tennessee Eastman after 44 years of service. He was a member of two professional societies while at Eastman, The American Chemical Society and The Society of Plastics Engineers, serving one term as president of the local chapter of The Society of Plastics Engineers.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sue; and daughters, Deborah and her husband Bob DeHaven, Leesburg, Va., and Melissa Cato, Greensboro, N.C. He was the devoted grandfather of Alexandra and Elliott DeHaven and Taylor and Miranda Cato. He is also survived by a sister, Lorraine V. Daugherty and her husband Bill.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10:15 a.m. Thursday at Holston View Cemetery. Friends are asked to meet at the graveside at 10 a.m.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Broad Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jack Edwards officiating.
The family will receive friends following the memorial service at the church and also anytime at the Vermillion home in Estil Heights.

KINGSPORT - Franklin Delanor White, 65, devoted husband, dad, grandfather and friend entered into eternal rest after a prolonged battle with cancer. He passed away at home on Saturday (Oct. 22, 2005.
He was retired from Eastman Chemical after 33 years of service, a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #972, Moose Lodge of Greeneville #692, Eagles on Stone Drive, Aerie #3141 and Legion Loyal Order of the Moose #972. He had special interest for and a love of golf, motorcycles and bowling. He coached the Sullivan Optimist Little league baseball, basketball and football teams.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar White and Rosa Adams White; brother, James White; and great-granddaughter, Morgan D. White.
Survivors include the love of his life, his wife, Nora Lockhart White; daughters, Teresa L. Light, Cindy D. White, Monika Burgess and special friend Raul Orozco, Robin Waters and husband Beau; a son, Tony F. White; sisters, Katherine Smith and husband Howard, Patty Baines, Debbie White, Sherry Thornberry and husband Russ, and Linda Frazier and husband Freddie; brothers, Sonny White and Michael White; grandsons, Cruz Burgess, Jamie White, Matthew White, Ryan White, Dustin White, Cody Roberts and Austin Johnson; granddaughters, Erica Estep and husband Kevin, Amanda Weber, Layne Jones, Jessica Light, Sierra Waters, Kayla White, Marina Waters, Cameo Waters, Casey White, and Elizabeth White; great-grandchildren, Ethan Estep, Kyah Jones and Megan Weber; special friend and nephew, Allen White; and several nieces and nephews.

EWING, Va. - Ted M. Clark, 41, passed away on Saturday (Oct. 22, 2005) at UT Hospital, Knoxville.
He attended Ewing Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Martha Clark; and two brothers, David and Roger Clark.

Jeremiah Shane Culbreth, 18, Niceville, Fla.
NICEVILLE, Fla. - Jeremiah Shane Culbreth, 18, born on Dec. 26, 1986 in Columbus, Ga., passed away suddenly on Saturday (Oct. 22, 2005).
Jeremiah resided in Destin, Niceville and Freeport since the age of 3. He attended Destin Elementary, Destin Middle School, Niceville High School and was a 2005 graduate of Freeport High School.
Jeremiah never met a stranger. His outgoing personality served him well and was evident in the many friends he enjoyed. He loved the outdoors and spent much of his time hunting, fishing, surfing or just enjoying a day on the water with friends and family.
He expressed his faith in God at the age of 12 and was baptized at Wynnbrook Baptist Church in Columbus, Ga.
Survivors include his parents, Jim and Donna Dixon of Niceville, Fla., and Jeff and Beth Culbreth of Freeport, Fla.; maternal grandparents, Reba and Jerry Murrell of Kingsport, Paul N. Fox and Judy Holt of Sherwood, Ark.; paternal grandparents, Nandy and Baba (Max and Maxine Culbreth) of Pine Mountain, Ga.; one stepsister, Ginger Fulkerson Harris of Miami, Fla.; one stepbrother, Dale Fulkerson of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.; three uncles, Gary S. Fox of Chattanooga, Mark Culbreth of Pine Mountain, Ga., and Joe Turner of Phoenix, Al.; one aunt, Starla Culbreth Turner of Phoenix City, Ala.; and many other family members and friends.

Elsie Beatrice Castle Frost Dean, 78, Kingsport, who was carried home by the angels to be with the Lord, on Friday morning (Oct. 21, 2005), will be laid to rest at 11 a.m. today at the Chestnut Grove Church cemetery in Hancock County after a brief graveside ceremony presided over by Rev. Wayne Baker. Family and friends going in procession are asked to meet at the Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Church Hill, at 9:30 a.m.

Euna Boggs Dotson, 97, Clintwood, Va.
CLINTWOOD, Va. - Euna Boggs Dotson, 97, Lick Fork community, entered into the arms of her Lord Sunday (Oct. 23, 2005) at Heritage Hall Nursing Home, Wise, Va.
Born Sept. 16, 1908 in the Bold Camp section of Pound, Va., she was the daughter of the late Thomas Eli Boggs and Mary Zelphia Robinson Boggs. In addition to her parents, Euna was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Dotson; her brothers, Feirl Boggs, Swanson Boggs, Donaldson Boggs, Dayton Boggs and Howie Boggs; and her sisters, Alma Boggs Davis and Savannah Boggs Mullins.
Euna was of the Baptist faith and with her staunch belief in God, avidly quoted the Bible. Her knowledge of gardening would rival that of a master gardener. She supported the troops of World War II as a spot welder in the Baltimore, Md., shipyards. Though she was a humble lady, she worked hard both inside and outside her home and in the later years extended her talent for household cleanliness into a livelihood.
She leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and friends as well as two special caregivers, her niece, Eula Boggs Branhan, and her grand-niece, Sherron Meade Dean.

William Elliott, 78, Abingdon, Va.
ABINGDON, Va. - William Martin Elliott, 78, a native and lifelong resident of Abingdon, Va., went to be with the Lord on Sunday (Oct. 23, 2005) in the Johnston Memorial Hospital.
He was a lifelong member of the Abingdon United Methodist Church, having served as chairman of the board of trustees. He was in the general insurance business for 47 years and president of Elliott Insurance Agency of Abingdon until his retirement in 1993. He was a member of the Abingdon Jaycees, having served as president. He was a life-time member of the Abingdon Civitan Club having served as president. He was a charter member of the Glenrochie Country Club and the Virginia Highlands Society. Mr. Elliott served three years on the board of the Virginia Association of Independent Insurance Agents.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Ova Price Elliott of Abingdon, Va.; a son, William "Mark" Elliott and wife, Eloise of Princeton, W.Va.; three daughters, Beverly Elliott Crockett and husband, Michael of Richmond, Va., Patti Elliott Farmer and husband, Denny of Abingdon, Va., and Susan Elliott Hurst and husband, Jim of Kingsport; 13 grandchildren, Jason, Jessica Ann, Jessica Nicole, Morgan, Thomas, Brooke, Aaron, Jennifer, Megan, Sarah, Nick, Meghan and Paige.
A Celebration of life service will be conducted at 1 p.m. today in the Abingdon United Methodist Church with Rev. Bill Rowland, and Rev. Nicole Hill officiating.
