James Michael Derrick, Jr., 82, Church Hill.
Graveside services for James Michael Derrick, Jr., 82, of Church Hill, who died Friday afternoon (Nov. 18, 2005), will be conducted today at 11 a.m. at Highland cemetery in Rogersville.

Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m.

Pallbearers will be Sam Collins, William Lewis Collins, Garrison Collins, Lewis Collins, Brett Derrick and Nolan Derrick.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Men's # 1 class from First Baptist Church.

The family thanks Eileen Collins for her kindness and friendship. Hometown Home Health Care is to be commended for their service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Church Hill, 202 E. Main Blvd., Church Hill, Tenn. 37642.

Louise Fink, 92, Kingsport.
KINGSPORT - Louise (Sherfey) Fink, 92, of 3187 Tiffany Court, passed away Sunday (Nov. 20, 2005) at Holston Valley Medical Center.

Louise was born May 2, 1913 in Bristol, Va., and she was the daughter of the late James David and Maude (Price) Sherfey.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Rita Helton; three brothers, Bruce D. Sherfey, Elmer W. Sherfey and Dana Sherfey; and several half-brothers and sisters.

Louise is survived by her husband, Henry Fink, of the home; her daughters, Mentoria Williams of Kingsport and Emogene Richards and husband Johnny of Fall Branch; two sons, Haynes Fink and wife Roma of Kingsport, Michael L. Fink and wife Pamela of Manassas, Va.; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the East Lawn Funeral Home and anytime at the residence, 3187 Tiffany Court, Kingsport or at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Haynes and Roma Fink, 101 Sylvan Drive, Kingsport.

A brief service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Ronnie Dean and Rev. Stanley Sims officiating, before going in a procession to the graveside for prayer.

The family would like to send a thank you to a special caregiver, Kate Nelms for the help and love you gave.

Ryan Fisk, 20, Carl Junction, Mo.
CARL JUNCTION, Mo. - Ryan Fisk, 20, passed away at 3:31 a.m. Saturday from injuries sustained in an automobile accident north of Carl Junction.

Ryan was born July 25, 1985 in Joplin, Mo. He had lived in the Joplin-Carl Junction area most of his life. He was a 2004 graduate of Carl Junction High School and was currently a student at Northeastern Okla. A&M in Miami.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Rae Fisk in 2002.

Surviving are his father, Ed Fisk, Kansas City, Mo.; maternal grandparents, Gordon and Mary Clymer, Carl Junction, Mo.; one brother, Cory Fisk, Carl Junction, Mo.; one step-brother, Ray Fisk, Mesquite, Tex.; three step-sisters, Sondra Hall, Parsons, Kans., Daphne Flores, Mesquite, Tex., and Macey McNickle, Mound Valley, Kans.; maternal great-grandmother, Jen Clymer, Joplin, Mo.

Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Carl Junction Christian Church.

Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church with Boyce Mouton, minister and Jon Lantz officiating.

Burial will be in the Carl Junction Cemetery.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Ryan Fisk Memorial in c/o Carl Junction Christian Church.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Motuary of Jopkin, Mo.

Emma Leigh "Chic" Gibson, 40, Gate City, Va.
Services for Emma Leigh Gibson, 40, Gate City, Va., who passed away Saturday afternoon (Nov. 19, 2005), will be held today at 1 p.m. from the Scott County Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charlie Taylor and Rev. Jimmy Darnell officiating.

Music will be provided by Laura Darnell and Eula Berry.

Burial will follow in the Sexton Family Cemetery, Dungannon, Va.

Pallbearers will be nephews.

Honorary pallbearers will be her brothers-in-law.

Joyce Gilliam, 57, Kingsport.
Graveside services for Joyce Ann (Wright) Powers Gilliam, 57, of Kingsport, who went to be with the Lord Saturday morning (Nov. 19, 2005) will be conducted at 11 a.m. today in the Garden of the Good Shepard.

Family and friends will meet at East Lawn Funeral Home to go to the graveside service.

Pallbearers will be Phillip Tipton, Keith Cox, David Weddle, Todd Ervin, Tim Maness and Ronnie Arnold.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Maness, John McClure and Greg Lane.

East Lawn is serving the Joyce Gilliam family.

Lawrence Dennis Grable, 59, Jonesville, Va.
JONESVILLE, Va. - Lawrence Dennis Grable, 59, was born in the Hubbard Springs Community of Rt. 2 Jonesville, Va., on Thursday (Aug. 22, 1946) and passed away Sunday (Nov. 20, 2005) after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War as an air policeman. He received many awards, including the Air Force Good Conduct Medal and was Airman of the Year. Dennis was a very giving person and thrived on doing for others and helped those in need. He was known for his keen sense of humor, kindness, and dedication to his family. His greatest love was being a father to his daughter, Amanda, and doing what he could for her since his illness. He persevered and proved to be an inspiration to many.

Dennis retired from the Lee County Sheriffs Department and operated an antique store in Jonesville, Va. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. He had lived most of his life in Lee County and was a member of the Hubbard Springs Christian Church where he served as a Sunday School teacher.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Jerusha Grable; and three brothers, Charles, James Neil and J.P. Grable.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Betty of the home; his daughter, Amanda Grable of the home; one sister, Janice Clifton of Seneca, S.C.; one brother, Ralph Grable of Jonesville, Va.; and two very special friends, Miranda Wright of Jonesville, Va., and Coy Willis of Jonesville, Va.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Province Funeral Home, Jonesville, Va.

Services will be held at 8 p.m. in the funeral home sanctuary with Jess Griffith and Gary Parsons officiating.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Lee Memorial Gardens, Woodway, Va.

Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home.

Paul S. Henley, 84, Kingsport.
Services for Paul S. Henley, 84, of Blountville, who died on Sunday (Nov. 20, 2005), will be conducted at 7 p.m. today in the Oak Hill Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Blessing officiating.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

A committal service will follow in an Oak Hill Mausoleum.

Pallbearers will be Chad Self, Brandon Self, Scott McDavid, Bruce Olsen, David Knight, and John Ford.

Beatrice and Paul first saw each other at Cowan's Branch Baptist Church. The family request in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Cowan's Branch Baptist Church, Rt. 3 Box 513, Gate City, Va. 24251.

The family would like to extend their thanks to Dr. Vu, Dr. Butler, Dr. Griffin, the entire staff at Kingsport Dialysis Center and Lakeridge Nursing Home in Johnson City.

KINGSPORT - Ezra Hood, 94, died early Monday (Nov. 21, 2005) at Brookhaven Health Care.

Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Robinette Funeral Home, Blackwater, Va.

Rufus Lee Jones, 78, Kingsport.
KINGSPORT - Rufus Lee Jones, 78, Brentwood Drive, went to be with the Lord Saturday afternoon (Nov. 19, 2005) after a brief illness.

He was born Sept. 8, 1927 in Scott County, Va., and was the son of the late Reece and Cena Russell Jones. He lived most of his life (46 years) in Kingsport. He was a member of the Morrison Chapel United Methodist Church. He retired from the Tennessee Eastman Corp. (Kodak) after 42 years of service. He was an avid farmer and a life-time member of the Kingsport Farmers Market.

The family stated he was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and will be missed.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Conley and Ernest Jones; and two sisters, Kate Kendrick and Dana Ruth Jones.

Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Ruth Winegar Jones, of the home; one daughter, Mitzi Gilliam and husband Tim of Church Hill; one son, Allen Jones and wife Sharon of Mount Carmel; four grandchildren, Matthew Gilliam and wife Amber, Jeremy Jones, Aimee Bland and husband Darrell and Tomara Groot and husband Tom; two great-grandchildren, Morgan and Seth Bland; four sisters, Ruby Quillen of Kingsport, Lynda Jones of Church Hill, Della Estep and husband Robert of Kingsport and Louella Jones of Glade Springs, Va.; one brother, James Jones and wife Elaine of Ryegate, Vt.; several nieces, nephews and many friends also survive.

Calling hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Scott County Funeral Home, Weber City, Va.

Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Homer Roller, the Rev. Bradley Scott and the Rev. Paul Bachman officiating.

Music will be provided by the Morrison Chapel United Methodist choir.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holston View Cemetery. It is requested that family and friends meet at the funeral home by 10:15 a.m. Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Morrison Chapel United Methodist Church, 2019 Chapel Drive, Kingsport, Tenn. 37665.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Gilliam, Jeremy Jones, Darrell Bland, Tom Groot, Steve Frazier, Don Morgan, Bob Bingham and Bill Hart.

Honorary pallbearers will be J.B. Durham and Jason Falin.

Mary Caroline Kilgore, 90, Gate City, Va.
GATE CITY, Va. - Mary Caroline Kilgore, 90, of Route 2, Midway community, stepped into the arms of Jesus on Sunday (Nov. 20, 2005) at Holston Valley Medical Center.

She was born in Russell County, Va. on June 16, 1915 and was the daughter of the late Lindsey Taylor and Hannah Rasnake Taylor. She was retired from Indian Path Medical Center as a nurse and worked as a midwife in the community.

Mrs. Kilgore was a member of Midway Memorial United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Nathan William Kilgore, Sr.; sons, Lindsey Kilgore, Larry Kilgore, Willie Kilgore, Freddie Kilgore; infant daughter, Tilda Kilgore; granddaughter, Machell Kilgore; sisters, Ada, Ebbie, Dora; brothers, Noah, Walt, Henry, Ike.

Surviving are her daughters, June Robinson and husband Bill, of the home, Ann Easterling, Kingsport; sons and daughters-in-law, Sam and Judy Kilgore, Gate City, Va., Nathan, Jr. and Kandy Kilgore, Piney Flats, David Kilgore, Gate City, Va.; daughters-in-law, Nancy Kilgore, Kingsport, Lou Kilgore, Duffield, Va., Mary Ellen Hamilton, Prince George, Va.; sister, Sallie Fuller, Gate City, Va.; special niece, Vera Sue Kiser, Gate City, Va.; 25 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

Calling hours are from 5 to 7:30 p.m. today at Colonial Funeral Home, Weber City, Va., and anytime at the home.

Services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel at 7:30 p.m. with Rev. Allen Karnes and Rev. John Hackney officiating.

Music will be provided by Lee Smith Singers and Kenneth Davis.

Graveside services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Wilson C. Kilgore cemetery in Nickelsville, Va. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 10 a.m. to go in procession to the cemetery.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Special thanks to Dr. Wesley Eastridge and nurse Joy Hensley, her caregiver Brenda Shearer, and Amedysis Home Health Care.

KINGSPORT - Ms. Ada B. Kimmons, 95, 849 Dale St., passed away on Nov. 20, 2005 at Wexford House.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Dockery Funeral Home of Morristown.

Larry E. Little, 59, Denver, Colo.
DENVER, Colo. - Larry Edward Little, 59, formerly of Kingsport, passed away Sunday (Nov. 20, 2005) in Bristol, Tenn.

He attended Lynn View High School and was a member of Lynn Garden Baptist Church.

His parents, Annahlynn and Clarence L. Little preceded him in death.

Surviving are a daughter, Cana Jo Little, Denver, Colo.; three sisters, Norma Bevins, Kingsport, Barbara Pensiero, Denver, Colo., and Juanita Hickman, Kingsport; one brother, Gary Little, Chattanooga, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews.

Military graveside rites will be conducted at 1 p.m. today at Mountain Home National cemetery by Charles DeWitt Byrd Post #3382 of the VFW.

Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
